Overdue baby

I was due to have my first baby on 1st August. I've tried everything to get baby to arrive (had a sweep on 1st too) apart from sex as OH reckons he will hurt baby (typical man) 🙄

Any other suggestions even just to take my mind off the fact that baby isn't here and I see new babies everywhere I go?

Baby girl born at 5am! I feel battered and worn but thrilled she's healthy and here!
Thanks for the support ladies. Here's hoping things start moving for you all Flowers

RedPandaMama · 07/08/2017 12:23

Yaaaay Lloyd so happy for you! Two of us have gone now, let's hope the rest of us follow!

NinaMarieP · 07/08/2017 12:46

Congratulations Lloyd.

I'm hoping to get to go home tonight. I just have to pee three times before they'll let me go. Wish me luck!

SarahS2404 · 07/08/2017 13:01

Congratulations @LloydColeandtheCoconuts !!

Hi @SarahS2404 I was overdue last October. Hope you don't mind me replying.

I also didn't know the sex of my baby. Due the 4th of October, it came and went and I was ridiculously fed up! I had a sweep on the 4th which did absolutely nothing and my cervix was still very high but she managed to touch baby's head. She booked my induction for the 14th incase I did need it (I did). I tried EVERYTHING. The Sunday which must have been the 9th we walked about 2 miles and was walking at least a mile every evening lol. Sorry probably not what you want to hear but I definitely know how you feel! I often broke down in tears at 5am because they still wasn't here 😂🙈

I was induced on the 14th and on the 15th of October 7.16am my little boy was born. It was the best day of my life!! Completely worth the wait. Just hold on in there! They'll be here before you know it and then life really does flash before your eyes. I can't believe he's nearly 10 months now!

All the best lovely Flowers keep us updated. All the best to everyone else who is eagerly awaiting babies

SarahS2404 · 07/08/2017 14:00

@BringMeTea123 ofcourse I don't mind you posting ☺️

I've had a few twinges but nothing happened with them. Hopefully the midwife can give me some good news but I'm not holding my breath that they will arrive before I'm induced haha!

I'll definitely keep you all updated though ☺️x

Aww bless you. Baby will definitely soon be here. I wasn't even having twinges when I went overdue lol so sounds like something is going on. Can't wait to hear an update Flowers

BringMeTea123 · 07/08/2017 14:15

Do you have any feelings towards boy or girl or you not sure. I always knew I was having a boy even though we didn't find out. I just had a feeling x

Gunpowder · 07/08/2017 14:22

Congratulations Nina and Lloyd. What a lovely thread!

Sounds like things are kicking off for you Sarah! Maybe there's something in the full moon. Fingers Crossed.

Nina hope you manage your wees! Grin

SarahS2404 · 07/08/2017 14:37

I hope so!

We think it's a boy, I had a 3D scan and baby looks very much like daddy. We'd both love a boy but aslong as baby is healthy I'm happy with either!

Just been for my midwife appointment and didn't end up having a sweep. Induction booked for the weekend and I feel so shitty and down - probably just hormonal but I walked home and just burst into tears. Now having a cuddle and cry on the sofa with my old lady cat. Just want this baby to arrive and feeling very down about it all Sad

RedPandaMama · 07/08/2017 15:23

I really don't want the induction either as it sounds like such a long, painful process. X

SarahS2404 · 07/08/2017 15:41

@RedPandaMama 😕 I've just got back from the midwife too. Had a sweep but nothing changed since the one I had last week so I feel the same as you. I'm booked for induction on Sunday! 🙁

Well after a fairly apocalyptic 49 hour labour, our boy finally arrived this morning. We did it all - pethadine, diamorphine, natural water birth and eventually forceps with a c-section looking very likely at one point - that's after 39 hours of natural labour, five hours of which in the pool. Got there in the end!! Never want to repeat, but very happy with the result ❤️. Good luck ladies, it will happen, that's the one certainty!

RedPandaMama · 07/08/2017 17:40

Yay Libby! Congratulations and well done on such an intense labour, amazing!

@SarahS2404 feel like you and I are going to be here until the bitter end at this rate!

NinaMarieP · 07/08/2017 18:03

Thanks Gunpowder. I've peed once so far, do proud of myself haha! Just two more to go.

Congratulations Libby! My labour was only 14 hours and that was more than enough. How are you feeling after the forceps?

SarahS2404 · 07/08/2017 18:45

@RedPandaMama I think we are going to be here the longest! 😫 are we placing bets on who's going first? 😂

I don't think this sweep is going to get things going, im hoping that or the full moon takes effect but it's not looking likely so far 😕 I'm fed up of having backache my bump seems to look more humongous every time I look in the mirror! I never thought I'd be fed up of seeing it😕

Congratulations Libby and Lloyd! EnvyFlowers

I had a scan today to check on baby growth and placenta integrity and all seems a-ok. According to the measurements he is just under 8lbs so at 11 days overdue, that's not too bad. I was expecting some sort of elephant baby!

Sorry to hear you've been feeling low RedPanda. CakeBrew

Let's get these babies moving!

DigitalGhost · 07/08/2017 20:18

Congrats! That sounds like a crazy labour!

Anyone booked their inductions yet? Apparently I'll be booking mine at my sweep tomorrow as they only let you go 10 days over here which is Friday. Really don't want to be induced 😖

SarahS2404 · 07/08/2017 21:04

@DigitalGhost where are you?

I've got my induction booked for Sunday 13th. Though I really want baby to come earlier than that.

OP posts:
DigitalGhost · 07/08/2017 21:12

West Yorkshire although I've heard it varies between hospitals/midwives.
My mum works at my doctors surgery and checked today for me.
At least you know you won't go over Sunday, although it feels like a lifetime away 🙁
I really don't want to be induced I'm hoping she comes after my sweep tomorrow.

SarahS2404 · 07/08/2017 22:06

Ahh not too far really!

Mine was booked the day before my first sweep. Had my second sweep today. I've got backache but no change with that really and been uncomfy but that's not much of a difference either 😕

OP posts:
NinaMarieP · 07/08/2017 23:09

I had aromatherapy and a second sweep the day before I went into labour so I can't be sure what did the trick. Maybe a combo of both.

Second pee done so I should get out tomorrow. Just as well I stayed in though as I've just had IV iron as my levels were really low.

Fingers crossed for all of you that are still
waiting!

SarahS2404 · 07/08/2017 23:15

I bet you can't wait to get home now @NinaMarieP .. how are you apart from the iron levels? & how is baby doing? How much did they weigh? ☺️

OP posts:
NinaMarieP · 07/08/2017 23:27

He's doing great thanks. He has taken to breastfeeding well so far, and we'd have been home long ago if it just relied on him! He was 8lb 11, and 53 cm long.
