Overdue baby

I was due to have my first baby on 1st August. I've tried everything to get baby to arrive (had a sweep on 1st too) apart from sex as OH reckons he will hurt baby (typical man) 🙄

Any other suggestions even just to take my mind off the fact that baby isn't here and I see new babies everywhere I go?

@Gunpowder it's okay haha! I think baby is waiting for auntie to come home from Spain before they make an appearance.

A girl I was speaking to said that if there's a full moon it helps to bring on birth (not sure how true it is) I know on Monday there is supposed to be a full moon so if none of us have gone by then there's always that to hope for

I was also due on the 1st August too according to scan dates but I worked out that I'm not due until 8th by my period dates....and I'm in no rush as I still don't feel ready!!
I'm going to give it another week and then take some castor oil. My friend was overdue and took a spoonful or two (Google it as I think it's quite powerful) she gave birth the next day. Got to be better than being induced!

Blondefancy · 05/08/2017 19:12

My DD was 8 days late. My 2nd sweep was done in the morning, I went home &I basically TOLD dp that sex was going to be had when he got home from work 😁😂I ate a homemade spicy curry in meantime (I know, typical) we had sex..afterwards there was the show & slow labour contractions started 1hr later😊😁 She was born 2 days later! Felt like I was in slow labour for a while!

SarahS2404 · 05/08/2017 19:18

@SingleMumInTheVillage I worked out the end of July but they told me 1st of August so I'm super fed up of waiting 😫

Let's hope something happens this week for us all!

@SingleMumInTheVillage just be careful taking castor oil (or olive oil or similar). I know someone who did that and yes she went into labour but it gave her terrible diarreah before and during the birth of her daughter and made it very messy, she said it wasn't worth it! X

SingleMumInTheVillage · 05/08/2017 20:38

@RedPandaMama good to know...thanks for the warning! (Castor oil as a very last resort then!) Maybe I will try Raspberry leaf tea first...drinking a couple of cups of tea a day but might try the capsules. Be interesting to hear what works for everyone...good luck and lets trust that baby knows when they're ready!

SingleMumInTheVillage · 05/08/2017 20:39

Is everyone feeling very tired and uncomfortable? I want more time to get things ready but not much energy to do much at all!

SarahS2404 · 05/08/2017 21:02

@SingleMumInTheVillage I've had everything ready for over a month now. I just need my baby to go with it all 😂

Very tired today after only managing 4 hours sleep 🙁😴😴

Hi All,
I hope you don't mind me jumping on board the thread too! waves at Nina
My due date was actually yesterday so I know I have very little to moan about but I also feel like I've been pregnant forever too. I've been such a miserable cow that DP probably won't want to have sex with me again. Ever! Smile
I'm having a sweep on Thursday which seems ages away.
I'm hoping things start before then.
Anyway, keep me posted Ladies Flowers

TheWeeWitch · 05/08/2017 21:32

Just posting to say that my babies both went over - DC1 was 13 days overdue and DC2 was 11 days over. I think it makes it worse to "know" your due date because you put yourself in a "my baby will be here by then" frame of mind.

Keep bouncing and good luck!

SarahS2404 · 05/08/2017 22:02

@LloydColeandtheCoconuts ofcourse not, join the misery haha!

I wonder which of us will go first! I'm the first in my family to go over my due date and they're all mithering me. I feel like throwing my phone away but then I can't get on here 😂

@TheWeeWitch Oh that must have driven you mad! I'm going crazy!!

It was definitely worse the first time. I felt like everyone was sat about looking at my belly tapping their foot. Once I went over by a few days with DS2 I resigned myself to the fact that it might be like last time.

I know everyone says this, but really try to enjoy this time. Slob about, take long baths, paint your nails, get a haircut (or whatever floats your boat!) - it will be a while before you can really indulge like that again.

SarahS2404 · 05/08/2017 22:36

@TheWeeWitch I can imagine! I've come to the realisation that baby isn't in a rush. I'm loving the lazy days at the moment. Even dried and straightened my hair for the first time in months, rather than putting it up and leaving it ☺️

Had a few tightenings, hard stomach and a dull ache but I don't think it's "it" yet. My pelvis hurts a lot today. Had a lovely relaxing bath and nearly dozed off listening to my hypnobirthing stuff. I'm planning to go for breakfast tomorrow.

Both my husband and I were 10 days overdue so I'm hoping tomorrow will be my day!

NinaMarieP · 06/08/2017 07:32

Baby boy was born at 4.56 am and weighed 8lb 11! Needed forceps after about 5 hours of pushing but he arrived safe in the end that's all that matters.

SarahS2404 · 06/08/2017 08:56

@Ookmybanana I've got my fingers crossed for you!

@NinaMarieP Congratulations! & well done ☺️ enjoy your baby x

Flowers congratulations Nina!

Thank you SarahS2404. Here's hoping for you too!

RedPandaMama · 06/08/2017 09:36

Congratulations Nina! So happy for you! X

NinaMarieP · 06/08/2017 09:38

Thanks all. It was really tough but so worth it. Best of luck when it comes to your turns!

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 06/08/2017 11:09

Congratulations Nina Flowers

RedPandaMama · 06/08/2017 22:59

Anybody had any more symptoms today? My friend messaged me just now saying she has a 'psychic feeling' my baby will arrive tomorrow so I guess we'll see Grin

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 06/08/2017 23:16

I've been feeling lots of 'tightening' with some pain for most of the day. More regular in the last hour. I actually called the labour ward Blush and they said it could be early labour and as the pain isn't unbearable to wait it out a bit longer. So I am "waiting it out!" Not actually sure if it's early labour or Braxton Hicks! I am so tired! But I doubt I'll be able to sleep!
Interestingly, Red, my sister also reckons my baby will show tomorrow! Smile

RedPandaMama · 06/08/2017 23:45

Aww good luck! I hope it is labour for your sake! Update us if anything happens. Flowers

Whoever it was that mentioned the full moon theory - it's a full moon tomorrow so let's hope for some babies x

Ookmybanana · 07/08/2017 00:02

Nothing here. Nearly 11 days overdue. I really really really don't want an induction. C'mon baby.

SarahS2404 · 07/08/2017 08:59

I had a lot of tightening and pain last night, then it all stopped when we were at my FIL's. Got home, it started again. Been super uncomfy all night but still nothing has happened 🙁

I've got my second sweep this afternoon so maybe that will kick everything off for real.

Got my fingers crossed for you all too ☺️
