I thought I would start a new thread because we finally passed the 500 post mark.

This is a pretty quiet thread - I think too many of us have been moving house. Our move is well and truly over (thank heavens) - well at least for the short term, we still have the small matter of emigrating in November with an 8 week old and a 3 year old which should be a barrel of laughs...

Otherwise I am bumbling on nearly 31 weeks and actually feeling ok despite no sleep, spd type pain at night and lots of time at the hospital because DS2 is so big and needs constant monitoring.

How are you all doing - time is flying we'll be doing birth announcements soon...

Jacksmum - fab news! Congratulations! Podmog, are you feeling any better? Er, probably not if baby still in situ.... I keep thinking that if am induced at least will get antibios in time.
Saddy, are you in labour now?
Highlander - v jealous you don't look pregnant at 37 weeks!!! Lucky mare!
I am massive but bump has gone pointy instead of wide - think head must be engaged (hopefully). My due date is this Sunday - argh!

costamum · 03/09/2004 22:24

Jacksmum - congratulations from Spain too!!! All the best.

Distracted · 03/09/2004 22:41

Jacksmum and Ja9 congratulations, that's great news, well done!

Podmog - hope things get moving naturally for you. Was discussing induction with m/w this week and she said best way to try to bring on labour yourself is sex 3x at 12 hour intervals (and stay in bed for 1 hour afterwards each time). She reckoned that was equivalent to induction - probably not telling you anything new though.

I did mention sharp pains to m/w as well and she suggested it was probably because of baby going in and out of pelvis (was engaged last time, not this time). Not sure how convincing that is though.

Wonder how Saddy is getting on - hope all is going well for her.

highlander · 03/09/2004 22:59

dinny - I DO look pregnant - I think the pharmacist is blind! Glad to hear you're upbeat.

Well done jacksmum!

ja9 - how's the house moving going?

Hello everyone, im new to the chatting session. I am 41 weeks pregnant and waiting inpatiently for number two to arrive. Can see many of you are waiting as well. I have tried everything to shift the little buggar but its not moving and keeps moving out of the engaged position. It will come out in its own time and wont be rushed!!!

dinny · 04/09/2004 21:14

Hi, everyone and welcome to Kayte. Well, I am due tomorrow and dh is convinced bub will appear. I'm not as s/he is moving round a lot still. Don't they got quiet if labour imminent?

Getting very uncomfy but still don't feel ready to have baby yet. Don't think I ever will!

dejags · 05/09/2004 19:32

Just a flying visit to let you know that our beautiful baby boy Tate Timothy was born last night (4th Sep) at 21.12. He is a gorgeous quiet little man and we could not be more ecstatic.

He weighed 8lbs5 (so much for the predictions that he would be huge) and measured 56cms.

I had a FANTASTIC labour - was started off with gel because my waters had been ruptured for more than 24hrs. When I got to 3cms they broke my waters and he was with us 3hrs16mins later.

Will post more when I get a chance.

Good luck to you all - looking forward to hearing your birth announcements.

Dejags - big congratulations!!!! Tate is a lovely unusual name.

highlander · 06/09/2004 01:46

dinny, are you OK?

dinny · 06/09/2004 07:39

Highlander, am fine thanks. No sign of baby yet though - am amazed to have gone over due date! How are you? How long to go?

Doing not bad. CS a week today - hurrah!

jacksmumto1 · 06/09/2004 18:43

Dejags - congratulations!!! Glad labour and birth went so well for you!

Well our boy is 5 days old now and doing well - we have finally named him Timothy John! Breastfeeding is hard going at the mo but I am hopeful we are past the worst... baby blues have also been bad but again the worst seems to be over... Still suffering with swollen ankles, feet and legs but hopefully I will be able to move about more now and get that sorted. Having a planned c-sec was scary but what was worse was having a viral infection "doing the round" on the maternity wards and not being allowed any visitors apart from dh and ds... I came home after 2 days having planned to stay in for at least 3 if not 4 days.. thankfully our mum's have been great and provided a lot of support.

Looking forward to hearing everyone else's news!

Lolabelle · 06/09/2004 20:08

Don't worry Podmog I'm still here at 41+1 and thoroughly fed up! Sweep tomorrow morning at 10.45 am and very tearful today due to everyone getting excited about the new baby and noone understanding how worried and anxious I am about my week ahead, it sounds wierd but I so thought I'd have had him/her by now that i am starting to feel down and the constant stream of phonecalls from excited mums and friends etc is getting to me as i don't feel excited anymore just nervous about being induced etc..

Sorry to moan but I kind of expected to have had it by now and never imagined an induction etc - hope you are feeling okay Podmog!

littlemel · 06/09/2004 20:33

Hello
Hope you don't mind me joining in - although I am a bit late seeing as my baby is due tomorrow...but I have only just discovered this site last night and decided to join in!
Like most of you, from the sound of it, I am well and truly fed up of being pregnant and praying for something to happen asap!
Also, can anyone explain to me what raspberry leaf tea is meant to do??! x

dinny · 06/09/2004 20:53

Hi everyone! Podmog and Lolabelle - sorry to hear how fed up you are. Lolabelle, hope your sweep has the desired result. Otherwise, have you tried a hot Thai curry? You've probably tried everything, I'd imagine. Try not to get too despondent, you will have your baby here soon!
Welcome Littlemel. I was due yesterday. Still not in a hurry for bub to arrive - still not feeling ready for the onslaught! Still in shock that have lasted this long after dd beng so early.
Jacksmum, glad to hear things going well for you and little Timothy. You'll have to change your Mumsnet nickname now. Dinny x

pupuce · 06/09/2004 20:55

Lolabelle...your tearfulness might be a sign that labour is near.... hormomes raging!!!

littlemel · 06/09/2004 20:57

Thanks dinny. Do you keep getting people ringing to find out if you have had the baby yet? its really getting on my nerves. This is my first so I am really nervous about being a mum, but I just want to get it over and done with now!!

dinny · 06/09/2004 21:00

Littlemel, the phone has gone crazy this weekend but am secretly pleased as have felt sad and ignored this pregnancy (unlike how spoilt I was the first time).

littlemel · 06/09/2004 21:09

Oh well at least you are getting some attention now then! My mum's the worst, she is coming with us on call to take us to the hospital, so its hardly likely I am not going to mention that I have already given birth!! She also rings at 7pm everynight to ask if anything has happened yet and if she can have a glass of wine as if giving birth is a 9 - 5 job and wont happen after 7pm! Seems to forget that she could be needed at anytime to take us....arghh!! they mean well I suppose.
How old is your first dinny?

dinny · 06/09/2004 21:22

Ha ha, love your mum convinced baby will come within the working day! Bless our mums, they are all round the twist one way or another.
My dd is 2 years and 4 months and I am so smitten with her. She is HARD WORK though!Q

littlemel · 06/09/2004 21:30

Bless. Think I am smitten already with mine (except when she jumps on my bladder) have been told its a girl, but you never know!!I cant wait.

dinny · 06/09/2004 22:00

I love having a girl. Haven't a clue what this one is. Don't mind either way. Most people I know seem to have had boys lately. Need some girls to even things up!

littlemel · 06/09/2004 22:03

know what you mean - there were 11 other people at work pregnant at the same time as me, and they all found out what they were having and everyone but me is meant to be having a boy! crazy. Im glad though as wnated to have a girl as my first
