Blimey. I've been lurking around mumsnet for a few months while ttc, but have only posted a couple of times. Didn't expect to be the one starting this thread!

Got a BFP yesterday (in the loo at work - classy!) and another one this morning.

According to fertility friend the due date is 9th feb.

It'll be our first, and we're both a bit shell-shocked. But happy, I think!

Is anyone else due in feb? I could really do with someone to compare notes with. I'm dying to tell my friends and family, but feel that we should leave it a few weeks, really..

Anyway ? hello everybody!

Hi all

Getting sicker by the day-much more so than with DS. Ginger nuts seem to help a bit but must try these travel bands. Laa, how was it having your first 2 children quite close in age? I think DS will be 21 months when new babe comes along, and am worried about how he'll cope. And how I'll cope! Just starting to get a bit more excited now though, after feeling a bit daunted by the whole thing...

Hope you are all doing well

PS Lots of fruit and veg are good for constipation. Soup's a good way to get your veggies without even having to chew!

Have thought that I ought to try to get in some sort of shape before the actual D-Day. Does anyone know if it is ok to do Pilates?
Experiencing evening sickness at the mo and when DP asked me what I wanted in my sarnies this am thought I would never keep my tea down!

jolly4 · 26/06/2004 23:07

Momof2 · 27/06/2004 13:01

Thanks Jolly.
Am seriously fed up today. Went to the DR last night at her request- sort of a hello I'm pregnant appointment - she told me to eat more healthily becasue (and htis was said whilst her eyes swept over my figure) "you don't want to be putting on any more weight" I know I am slightly bigger than usual - ie 5ft 7 and about 11 stone (usually about 10 - 10 and a half) - but I was so upset. Naturally went home and gave DP stick about it (of course it was his fault).
Oh and the other thing DR said - the reason that I am feeling nauseous (sp) and my boobs are sore is because I found out so early - what so if I hadn't known I was pregnant I wouldn't be getting these problems!
Rant over, many thanks xx

futurity · 27/06/2004 13:10

Can't believe she said that!!! Sounds like my doctor (who I am seeing tomorrow)..she can be a bit short like that as well. That comment about the sickness and the boobs wasn't very constructive was it!! The reason I thought I was pregnant was that I had those symptoms..this was BEFORE I took the test. Just ignore her..she is talking out of her bottom!!

Momof2 · 27/06/2004 13:18

Exactly Futurity - I thought she was asking me about how I was feeling so she could come up with some ancient remedy (like she usually does) to cure me of the nausea, but no..just to have another go - won't even go into the lecture I got for moving again and the change of name again (sigh) but at least I was expecting that and know to ignore it.
Sounds like a tyrant but she really is a thoroughly good Dr usually. Perhaps one of us had hormone issues - well I know I didn't

JonahB · 27/06/2004 21:06

Hope everyone is okay today.

dazedandconfused - thanks for advice. I'm a veggie anyway, so I'm trying to eat as healthily as possible, which trying not to eat for 2. Hard though when eating takes away nausea.

momof2 - i agree with futurity. that's not very helpful, when you're feeing unsure and hormonal.

I've just had a bit of a scary 3 days. I've been bleeding sporadically, so I went to the hospital today to check everything was okay. And DP and I were SO relieved to find out everything is fine. We even saw a tiny hearbeat!!! That was 1 of the most exciting things I've ever seen However, i'm 11 days earlier than i thought, so due on Feb 13th. An extra 11 days of sleepiness then....

Angeliz · 28/06/2004 00:14

smellymelly · 28/06/2004 09:48

Hi ladies - congrats to you all.

I'm from the Jan thread and just wanted to say that I have also had the mood swings from hell! My bedroom door got it before I even knew I was pregnant! OOOh those raging hormones...

Good luck to you all, my sickness is wearing off now, but I'm still wearing the sick-bands 24 hours a day - too scared to take them off yet.

xxx

futurity · 28/06/2004 12:58

Just returned from the doctors for the "hello..I'm pregnant" chat. Luckily she was in a good mood and it was fine. Got a massive pack of stuff including Emma's Diary (wonder if it is the same as the last one I had!?). Nothing much happens now until midwife and scan in about 6 weeks time. Off on hols on Friday anyway so praying sickness doesn't kick in that week!

Momof2 · 28/06/2004 13:01

See now I knew I was supposed to get the Emma's diary and stuff, but Dr told me the midwife would give it to me on my 10/11 week appointment.
She MUST have been hormonal, definately not me.
Tempted to call the lovely Receptionist and check with her.....

Angeliz · 28/06/2004 13:08

Can i just check what happens at that first Doc's app??

I have to see a male Doc as female one has left! What happens??(Short memory!!!)

Momof2 · 28/06/2004 13:12

Angeliz - having a major strop about mine
From what I remember last time I got weighed and had my blood pressure taken - then got given the pack Futurity is referring to , had a chat about how I was feeling and was very helpful.
But this time.....grrrrrr....didn't get anything at all except nagged Thank goodness I am not a 1st timer.
Will stop going on about it now, I promise

Angeliz · 28/06/2004 13:16

I read yours mumof2!! Miserable git! (Not you)

I'm just glad i don't have to be pokes and prodded. They don't check your tummy or boobs then??

futurity · 28/06/2004 14:11

All she did with me was blood pressure and write the referral letter (asking lots of general health questions). Didn't weigh me..think the midwife does that.

Angeliz · 28/06/2004 21:15

Thanks futurity and Conratulations to you too smellymelly+

I am well stil apart from the moods but did feel very queesy(sp) when i was cooking!!

Can't wait to have a bump!

JonahB · 29/06/2004 20:37

Best of luck for the scan tomorrow Jolly4. I really hope everything is okay. Sorry it didn't go the way you hoped in Leeds. Still, you got to meet Sharon Osbourne....

I went for my first midwife apt on wed. Mine was very short. She took my bp, gave me some leaflets (incl Emma's diary), and sent me on my way. Oh yeah, and she told me I shouldn't eat blue cheese and I should wear gloves for gardening. Nothing terrible enlightening, I have to say. Hope she gets better, and even remembers my name next time. Am I winging? Sorry . Not filled with confidence in her abilities.

futurity · 29/06/2004 23:33

Just signing off for the week as off on holiday tomorrow to sunny (I hope!) Torquay!

Keep well everyone!
