Blimey. I've been lurking around mumsnet for a few months while ttc, but have only posted a couple of times. Didn't expect to be the one starting this thread!

Got a BFP yesterday (in the loo at work - classy!) and another one this morning.

According to fertility friend the due date is 9th feb.

It'll be our first, and we're both a bit shell-shocked. But happy, I think!

Is anyone else due in feb? I could really do with someone to compare notes with. I'm dying to tell my friends and family, but feel that we should leave it a few weeks, really..

Anyway ? hello everybody!

Oh jolly, sorry you're so worried!!

You must feel like you're in limbo but i'm sure it will all be fine!! 7th June must seem like an age away......

Angeliz · 30/06/2004 21:33

July-sorry

milkybarkid · 30/06/2004 21:52

Hi, not sure if I really belong here, am not sure of dates as I had irregular periods following ds, but will be due end of Feb or beginning of March.

As those of you who have read other thread "milkybarkid's a nutcase" will know, ds is just five months. Lots of people cope with double buggies, although maybe there aren't that many with stairs llike mine! but two lots of nappies, pregnancy tiredness etc while breastfeeding etc, it will be a nightmare

Angeliz · 30/06/2004 21:55

milkybarkid, my sis has two boys 2+3 and she has found ot very hard BUT, now they play together and she's done, i'm starting it all again

2ticks · 01/07/2004 14:47

Jolly - I was told that they wouldn't do an scan for me earlier than 8 weeks as they wouldn't necessarily be able to see anything before that point e.g. heartbeat etc. From your dates you are just over 6 weeks and will be about 8 weeks at your next scan, so things should be clearer then. Did the Dr seem concerned at all? It must be very difficult waiting for the next scan - I hope you manage to relax a little.

Angeliz · 01/07/2004 14:55

jolly, i do understand what you mean but have no advice! It seems all you can do is wait and see.

Sorry you're so worried

As for me, for a few days i've had a mild pain in one side of my abdomen (left) pretty much constantly. I thought it's normal ,just my body adjusting but after reading up a bit i'm TERRIFIED incase it's an ectopic!
I have to see G.P on Tuesday for booking in so wil inform him then if the pain is still there.

Has anyone else got mild/cramp pains just one one side????(I mean is it just a normal thing??)

jolly4 · 01/07/2004 17:15

yes know what you me just wait an see i did have little pains on my left side thats why i was worried in the begining and wanted an internal scan too see the heart beat maybe these are settling in pains i did have c- section with my little boy could be the scar i dont know we will just have too stop worrying easier said than done

jolly4 · 01/07/2004 17:16

sorry 2sticks no the doctor didnt seem concerned maybe i was just too early

milkybarkid · 01/07/2004 18:06

believe me, if it were ectopic you'd know about it, pain's excruciating!

I'm already having these pains and had it with both other pgs

ermentrude · 01/07/2004 22:49

Hi I will join this thread as due on 1st march - very ealry days.

ermentrude · 01/07/2004 22:56

TTC thread here

Angeliz · 02/07/2004 00:30

Thanks milkybarkid and hope you're o.k++++

Congratulations Ermentrude+++++

dazedandconfused · 02/07/2004 14:49

Jolly, there is some info on the recent thread 'when did you first hear the heartbeat' that suggests you often can't see more than a sac until a bit later.

Also, I had the pain in my side when pregnant with DS, and was told that it's your ovary, which supports the foetus until around 3 months, when the placenta takes over. I also have it on and off this time.

Don't worry-I really hope everything's fine for you.

jolly4 · 03/07/2004 19:35

well i am feeling a lot better in myself now , i have been feeling a bit queasy yesterday and today really sickly that pregnancy sickness feeling so i am more confident at seeing something more at next scan thanks all for your help advice an reassurrance it has helped x

JonahB · 03/07/2004 20:07

jolly4 - I'm sorry you're so worried. I can't be much help, but I can tell you that my doctor brother told me that you usually can't see the heartbeat until you are at least 8 weeks. He had the same worries, when his partner had a scan at 6 weeks, and they couldn't see the hb. So it definitely isn't just you.

Congratulations ermentrude

I've got a pea-sized pregnancy brain story that'll make you laugh. I walked into a small, but crowded restaurant on sat night, and thinking I was undoing my coat, proceeded to undo my jeans. Zip and all. How humiliating is that!!!!!! I made it worse by laughing at my own stupidity so loudly that everyone turned to stare. Please take note if you go to out to eat in the next 9 months......

jolly4 · 05/07/2004 19:12

thanx for the info i do feel pos feel more pg now sick an knackkered got scan the 7th july then off too benidorm for 4 days

Angeliz · 06/07/2004 21:35

Hi, hope everyone is well.

I had a booking in app with Doc on Tuesday and got in to see the midwife on Wednesday!! (Am only 6 weeks but she took all my details)
Was there for nearly an hour! (Student tried to take blood from my arm......then midwife tried other arm.......the got blood pumping all over nice jeans ) Never Mind

I can't beleive all the info, there seems to be SO much more than last time.
The midwife explained they have to get consent for the H.I.V test so i get results in 6 weeks .(am quite nervous about it!!! can't remember knowing anything last time)

So the midwife won't see me for 16 weeks!
She also told me about another blood test for Downs at 12-16 weeks but it only determines high or low risk. Don't think i want that as will only be cause for worry!

Best shut up now or i'll be on all night

How is everyone???????????????????

jolly4 · 07/07/2004 01:23

Momof2 · 07/07/2004 13:06

Hi everyone,

Felling really tired and sick at the moment, but thanks to Smelly Melly's post's about sea bands have managed to get some and seems to have stopped the constant nausea.
For some reason I am having to eat chocolate cake just before bed with a glass of milk every night - heaven knows why, but I really fancy it
Perhaps this is why I am unable to do up my trousers
Hope everyone is feeling better than me!
xx

Angeliz · 07/07/2004 15:16

jolly, glad you're a bit more positive.
I don't see midwife again till 20th October!!!!!
(seems an awful long time to me but...........)I do see consultant at hospital at 12 weeks (ish) and then early scan so at least i'll be re-assured then that all is well i hope.

MumofTwo, i feel queezy alot too. Didn't at all last time so it's quite a shock! I drink hot chocolate,(not quite the same as my lovely chardonnay but c'est la vie)

jolly4 · 07/07/2004 18:35

my that does seem ages dosent it i was on another thread b4 my a girl called cobweb she was in a sort of same predict as me it is awful isnt is i think cause when we do a test and it is + we are on such a high we cannot comprehend anything bein wrong or this little scares cos thats wot they are ,wait till another month or so when our bellys are stickin out!!

Momof2 · 07/07/2004 18:53

Jolly - after all my chocolate cake my belly already is LOL!!

JonahB · 08/07/2004 18:21

Hi Everyone,

Momof2, my belly is really sticking out too. My weakness seems to be potatotes. I just can't eat enough potatoes! I'm already in my loosest fitting jeans

I've got the midwife coming for a home appointment next wednesday. I have no idea what she will be doing though. She has given me a 2 page form to fill in, and that's all she's told me.
