Blimey. I've been lurking around mumsnet for a few months while ttc, but have only posted a couple of times. Didn't expect to be the one starting this thread!

Got a BFP yesterday (in the loo at work - classy!) and another one this morning.

According to fertility friend the due date is 9th feb.

It'll be our first, and we're both a bit shell-shocked. But happy, I think!

Is anyone else due in feb? I could really do with someone to compare notes with. I'm dying to tell my friends and family, but feel that we should leave it a few weeks, really..

Anyway ? hello everybody!

Wooo hoo! Brilliant news, Tinker! And footstep too. Agree with WWW that Feb 13 is an ace date, being as it is the scummyone's birthday too!

pesme · 09/06/2004 22:22

congrats to all. sorry i am gatecrashing, i had my february baby this january. this time next year you will all have gorgeous little babies trying to sit up and grinning and chuckling. have a good pregnancy and lots of luck.

ShouldKnowByFriday · 09/06/2004 23:31

Congratulations to Footstep and Tinker!!

Happy pregnancies to both of you...

Tinker · 12/06/2004 13:25

Thnaks for the good wishes folks. Scary indeed Twink

How are you Footstep?

JonahB · 12/06/2004 20:39

Congratulations to Footstep & Tinker - really pleased for you both.

I'm pleased to say that i'm no. 3 to join this small group. I found out last week that i'm pregnant with my first, and my due date is 2nd Feb.

I can totally understand Tinker. It is not real, despite two tests. I just wont believe it until I see the scan.

So far, so lucky - no morning sickness at all (grin). But my boobs hurt if I sit, stand, lie, move in any way at all. Ah well, it'll be worth it in the end.

Lovely to have some people to chat to...

footstep · 12/06/2004 23:15

Congratulations JonahB!

Have you been trying long (or, indeed, at all)?

Tinker - I'm fine, ta. Couldn't post from work today - my boss was hovering round, and I don't want to give the game away this early..

Spent the w/e reading up on pregnancy and scaring myself with imaginary abdominal pain/lack of preg symptoms/general anxiety. Am trying to be calm and serene, but not very good at that at the best of times.

Hope you're both really well.

And thanks to everybody for the congratulations and welcome!

Morning all

I hope everybody's well.

I feel terrible today, to be honest My symptoms, which seemed really strong last week, have faded at lot. I'm really, really worried. Am I being stupid? I've never done this before, so I really don't know what to expect. Trawling the internet for info on missed m/c's and blighted ovums (ova?) has not made me feel any better. I know m/c is really common and it's still really early days so I'm feeling kind of doomed now.

Sorry to be on such a downer - really hope everybody else is feeling OK.

Tinker · 13/06/2004 13:43

hi footstep - well I've no symptoms at all either if that makes you feel better. I don't remember getting any until I was about 7 weeks last time. And some women don't get any ever. So it doesn't mean you're doomed. But I do keep wondering myself. My daughter keeps asking me if I'm pregnant - 'No darling, mummy is just fat'

footstep · 13/06/2004 14:04

Hi Tinker

Thanks for the reassurance. I know I'm being a drama queen, but i don't seem to be able to help myself!

when are you thinking of telling your daughter? Have you told anyone else?

We're thinking of telling our parents fairly soon, but I'm not sure we should. It's going to be hard not to though, since we need to postpone decisions on some fairly major plans (dh giving up job to study for a year) until we're a bit more sure what's going to happen. questions will be asked!

ho-hum. just have to wait and see, I suppose. Thanks for letting me vent!

Hope you're feeling well.

Not sure when to tell my daughter, prob at the 12/13 week stage. hgave told my mum though. She's coming to stay this week and it would be so obvious that I'm not drinking she'd know something was up.

pes · 13/06/2004 14:56

Just to say CONGRATULATIONS to Footsteps, Tinker and JonahB, so lovely to hear about these new little beings on their way
I really hope to be joining one of these threads soon ,
Wishing you all a happy and healthy time of it for the next 9 months

JonahB · 13/06/2004 20:17

Hi Tinker & Footstep,

I'm only getting 2 symptoms so far - the first one I've mentioned, and the fact that I am really tired. Doing a full day's work at the moment is a real struggle.
If its any help at all to you Tinker, I have told my close friends and my parents. First of all, they would all know as soon as I ordered my first orange juice that something was amiss. Also, we felt that if something does go wrong, I can't hide that from my nearest and dearest, and I know that they would all be there for me to support me through it.
Please don't worry too much. What is meant to be, will be, and nothing you, I or Footstep can do will change that. I'm keeping lots of fingers and toes crossed for us all.....

ps, Vent any time you need.

dazedandconfused · 14/06/2004 22:56

Hi Feb mums-to-be
I am another to join the merry gang, if all goes well...Still feeling shell-shocked to discover I'm pregnant as DS has just turned 1! Eeek! He took quite a while to come along...and this one's just sneaked in while we weren't looking IYKWIM. Anyway, we are v pleased if a little daunted. I'm just hoping that DS doesn't miss out on being the baby

I'm feeling quite rough this time-last time I didn't really have any symptoms until 8 or 9 weeks, when I got morning sickness. This time, though, sore boobs, sick this am and nausea if I don't munch constantly throughout the day.

Like yous, it's nice to talk to others because we haven't told anyone yet.

hummingbird · 14/06/2004 23:49

hey there!

congratulations to Tinker, footstep, JonahB and dazedandconfused.

i may or may not also be a february mom. if i am indeed pg my due date is feb 11.

did a clearblue test last night (i think i'm about 19 DPO, but I usually have a short cycle) and found it really hard to read - the first one was definitely a + sign, but the test window didn't work, the second was pretty ambiguous - we could see the second line, but it was very faint, and almost looked as though it was just a reflection of whatever substance should change colour with a positive result. does that make sense?

i have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, in hopes that i will get this cleared up.

has anyone else had this problem?

footstep · 15/06/2004 12:15

Congratulations dazedandconfused and hummingbird (hopefully!)

Thanks, everybody, for your encouraging words. I'm feeling a bit more positive now, but trying just to relax and wait-and-see.

hummingbird - I hope your meeting with your doctor goes well. Let us know how you get on.

dazedand confused - when are you due? I hope the m/s isn't too much of a strain. I'm sure your ds will enjoy being a big brother..

Momof2 · 15/06/2004 13:09

Morning everyone, I might be crashing the wrong thread as I am useless at working out dates, if I know the date of my last period (sorry - don;t know if there is jargon for this) how can I work out when I am due? I reckon its Feb, but please can someone help? BTW I usually have a 24 day cycle and am on day 27, did 2 tests so far and both say PREGNANT (am SOOOOOO excited, been trying for ages)
TIA
xxx

Toothache · 15/06/2004 13:12

Momof2!! CONGRATS!

Count 40wks from the 1st day of your last period. What date was your last period?

Momof2 · 15/06/2004 13:16

Thanks Toothache, it was 14th May, so by my reckoning....14th Feb - Wow, that's my birthday too!
So I am on the right Thread
Congratulations to everyone here too, DP says not to let anyone know until the DR has confirmed it properly - but I can't not tell ANYONE, so it will be our secret for now

Toothache · 15/06/2004 13:22

I make it 11th of Feb!!

My birthday is the 15th Feb.... we Aquarians are far superior.

Momof2 · 15/06/2004 13:30

Tinker - my DD is 7 too, we chatted last night about when we should tell her and StepDD - who is 7 on Monday. Have decided to wait until 12 weeks just to be sure - it would be dreadful if anything went wrong (touchwood, touchwood) and they knew. StepDD already has a new baby sister of 6 months now and is adorable with her, although DD informed SIL recently that babies were not as much fun as Alton Towers (!) - SIL has just had a baby too.
Footstep, Glad you feel better today, I have no symptoms, except and appaling breakout of spots on my face - nice!
JonahB - jealous of the lack of sickness as I can see i will be suffering!
Hummingbird - hope all goes ok with the DR- on the strength of advice on earlier threads I got a digital test, which made it really clear (but still had to do 2)
Dazedandconfused - hope you aren't feeling too bad today.
So Hello to all, love Momof2

Momof2 · 15/06/2004 13:32

Toothache- I will go by your date and thank you so much - was doin' my nut trying to work it out

Toothache · 15/06/2004 13:33

No probs - I'm obsessed with dates!!

Tinker · 15/06/2004 14:01

Oh, congratulations hummingbird, JonahB, dazedandconfused and Momof2

That's reassuring Momof2 about the age gap. Think it'll be a different but equally lovely relationship - fingers crossed.

Still think I'm making it up although do feel slghtly nauseous when I get up but nothing too serious. Plus, my period hasn't come back!

hummingbird · 15/06/2004 22:08

hello again,

thanks for everyone's notes. saw the dr this morning and she said the results were "um...yes"!

both dp and i are shocked but happy.

it's sort of hard to believe at the moment as i'm not feeling much except for sore breasts and feeling kind of bloated in my stomach.

wishing everyone the best...

dazedandconfused · 15/06/2004 22:44

Congrats, Hummingbird, on your test! I guess you now have the answer to your query about Clearblue tests...

Footstep, I'm not sure when my due date is. I haven't had a period since the cycle before we conceived DS as I have been BFing him for a year and just stopped. So, I think it's probably first week of Feb, but will need to wait until scan to get more accurate date! Obviously I know it's possible to get pregnant before you've had a period, but was (am!) still totally gobsmacked when it happened...

Hope you are all feeling good today. I have had a much better day, but my appetite is enormous so I imagine I'm going to be growing a big belly in no time
