Blimey. I've been lurking around mumsnet for a few months while ttc, but have only posted a couple of times. Didn't expect to be the one starting this thread!

Got a BFP yesterday (in the loo at work - classy!) and another one this morning.

According to fertility friend the due date is 9th feb.

It'll be our first, and we're both a bit shell-shocked. But happy, I think!

Is anyone else due in feb? I could really do with someone to compare notes with. I'm dying to tell my friends and family, but feel that we should leave it a few weeks, really..

Anyway ? hello everybody!

Ooh, 3 more to add to the gang!

Big congratulations to dazedandconfused, hummingbird and mumof2 .

Hope everyone's feeling okay. My bras are getting tighter and tighter, what seems like every hour!!! Other than than, i'm absolutely fine.

Best wishes to you all.....

Momof2 · 16/06/2004 12:29

Morning everyone - hope you are all feeling ok? Fantastic News Hummingbird
Am feeling a bit daunted by this today, looked at DD and Step DD and thought - OMG we are starting at the beginning again!

Tinker · 17/06/2004 18:50

Hope everyone is well. Not feeling too hopeful myslef. Started spotting about 24 hours ago so feel I'm on hold about everything. Other than contact my GP don't think there is anything can do, just mooch about feeling fragile.

Twink · 17/06/2004 21:39

Oh bugger, hope you can get a chance to rest and it goes away as quickly as it started.

Thinking of you, even if you do insist on supporting that team. Take care xxx

futurity · 17/06/2004 23:09

Hi! Can I join in? My AF was due on today but I felt sick this morning..that combined with tender breasts and strange temp chart lead me to test despite the fact I said I wouldn't do until Monday! Anyway..it was positive! Very early days but due on Feb 20th. Already have one DS aged 2.5 and been trying for 6 months.(the most stressful 6 months of my life!)

How many people due in Feb then?

Tinker · 18/06/2004 15:30

Congratulations futurity

Cheers Twink. Still not stopped so am mentally prepared for the worst. Have detached myslef a little from the pregnancy thing now, don't feel pregnant and am telling myself I'm having/have had a miscarriage. Do feel sad though.

Marina · 19/06/2004 01:57

Tinker, hoping for the best of outcomes for you. My "spotty-to-20 weeks pregnancy" was chewing both big toes at once this lunchtime and sitting on another Mumsnetter's lap adoringly - spotting doesn't always mean the end. We raised a glass to you in absentia. Really keeping my fingers crossed.

dazedandconfused · 19/06/2004 13:53

Really sorry to hear that, Tinker. Hope you're feeling OK.

JonahB · 19/06/2004 20:23

.. and from me too Tinker. Thinking of you, and really hoping everything is okay

Futurity - big congratulations to you

hana · 19/06/2004 21:51

Furtuity - what fantastic news!! Congratulations and best of luck with this pregnancy!!! YOu and DP must be thrilled

futurity · 19/06/2004 23:52

Yes...we are thrilled although not really sunk in yet..despite the sickness! Will do another test tomorrow.

Thinking of you Tinker x

Momof2 · 20/06/2004 13:07

Tinker - hope you are ok, thinking of you

Tinker - so sorry you're going through this . I really hope everything turns out OK.

Took my second test this morning and the preg line came up before the control line! Borrowed some sea sickness bands from a friend but sickness has worn off a bit anyway..the tiredness is setting in though! There was no leaflet with the bands though..can anyone remember how to position them correctly as I want to do it right.

Toothache · 20/06/2004 16:45

Futurity - Smellmelly had 'symptoms' like you.... early sickness, really strong blue line..... and she's having twins.

laa · 21/06/2004 02:42

Hi, thought I'd join in this thread. Congratulations to all of you out there due in Feb and hope yu're ok Tinker. I'm expecting number 3 in Feb - due 19th..Feeling sick and fat! Excited though - but moving house next wk so quite busy. Don't know what DS (3) and DD (14 mos) will make of the new baby next yr. I think my mum thinks we're insane. I was a bit offended by her response but she rang up and apologised and said she was reallypleased. Can't help thinking she's still a bit quiet abou it all though. People's response to a 3rd pregnancy is wierd - very muted, like you've clearly made a big mistake and don't know how to use contraception. Anyone else found that. Anyway, I too shall be joining the acupressure band brigade. Can't remember where they go on the wrist though - I think I blocked out the grimness of myprevious morning sickness.

futurity · 21/06/2004 10:43

I had heard about early sickness meaning twins as well. eek! Although spoke to my friend last night who is expecting twins and she didn't get that..she just got extreme tender breasts!!

Found the position of wrist bands on the internet so all sorted there.

JonahB · 22/06/2004 11:23

hi everyone,

Can anyone give me advice about what's good to take for constipation (sorry to ask - embarrassing really, but feel we are all in the same boat). My stomach is HUGE and i'm sure its not the baby showing yet, far too early. I keep reading that you shouldn't take laxatives. Can I take fibragel, or is that not allowed either? Any other suggestions of what works? The curry I had last night probably didn't help massively, but I love curries so much....

Toothache · 22/06/2004 11:27

JonahB - I have suffered from constipation throughout my entire pregnancy (I'm 33wks now) and I was prescribed Lactulose from the GP. It's horrible thick syrup, but certainly does the job.

When I ran out I start drinking fruit smoothies from Tesco.... not the dairy one's, the one's just purely pureed Mango, Banana and orange. I have a nig mug of it for my breakfast and that works a treat too! Although.... it gives me heartburn.

Pes · 22/06/2004 15:01

Just a good wish message for Tinker - hope everything is ok

Pes · 22/06/2004 15:03

...futurity - I had v strong line and sickness with ds - just the one!!

Angeliz · 22/06/2004 15:09

Me too! I did thre tests and have now DEFINATELY missed my period,( i did the early tests). I am due on DD's Birthday. 25th Feb, how wierd is that? DD will be 4!

We have been trying for months and i'm still in shock and wary that i'm TOO happy incase anything should happen!!

CONGRATULATIONS to eveyone and hope to chat to you all soon++++

Momof2 · 22/06/2004 15:11

Hi Angeliz - congratulations - think of the saving on birthday cakes

Momof2 · 22/06/2004 15:13

JohanB - I too have a huge tummy - I usually get bloated before my period, but this time it has stayed bloated - but don't seem to have any poo problems! Have given up caffine and started to drink 4 pints of water a day - but it won't go

Angeliz · 22/06/2004 15:16

Thanks Mumof2

Yep, one party for all

I am over the moon, CONRATULATIONS to you too+++++++++++++
