Why not Rhys? Sounds similar, but a more traditional spelling.

Debbsyandbibby · 01/12/2006 13:56

yes Lunar i like that way of spelling it too going to look at these old testament names as we want something unusual. But sorry ladies dh still loves Kai...

tissy · 01/12/2006 14:08

i like james too but quite like the more unusual ones too - guess it does depend quite a lot on what goes with your surname too.

i suggested harrison for a boy to my DH recently - half jokingly although i do quite like it, cause we both like harry but not quite so keen on harold. DH thinks its great cause it has a Star Wars connection so am now trying to decide if i like it enough to put it on the list. i know what my mum would say about it but then she's had her shot of naming her children

3andnomore · 01/12/2006 17:04

Hm...sorry, but Dathan don't look right nor sound right, to me, that is, lol...it looks like Nathan with a spelling mistake, iykwim....
Seeing that you obvioulsy like unusual names...my boys are called Sven, Yannic and Flynn Although, again, Sven James and Flynn James would, in my opinion, not flow nicely

conkertree · 01/12/2006 17:04

sorry about the excessive use of the word 'too' in that post

Debbsyandbibby · 01/12/2006 17:18

hmmm not quite like Flynn we have got Finn on our list too thanks

3andnomore · 01/12/2006 17:27

Rowan is nice, too...but I suppose there is always the image of Mr. Bean in once head...well...mine anyway, lol! KNow a few cute Rohans though
OH and one of my favourite names is, but it's a bit weird, I suppose...Gwilym...it's the welsh version of William....and I know it's seriously old fashioned....but, when I worked in Hossie, which was in Wales, lol...we had this cute grumpy ole man as a patient and his name was Gwilym, and I just loved the name, had never heard it before!
We had some other cute old men there...but usually didn't make me like the names any better....one of the loveliest old man ever was called Percy, but, hm...that one jsut doeesn't yank my chain, even though it's kinda a cute name, really, i suppose!

3andnomore · 01/12/2006 17:59

Oh...DERMOT....hm....hunky Dermot springs to mind (you know the BBLB presenter)
Duncan is nice, too, I think

3andnomore · 01/12/2006 18:00

or Lachlan (he used to be a character in H&A, too...i am such a sad person, aren't I, lol)

3andnomore · 01/12/2006 18:00

hm...and thinking about it, I think Lachlans borther was called James, lol

NotAnOtter · 01/12/2006 18:01

Jed is sooo nice but DP said it sounded too northern!
