Marking my place on the new thread Smile

I met with some friends last night who I hadn't seen in a long time and who didn't know about me being pg again. It was really nice, but felt so weird, talking openly about it all! Wonder if I will ever get used to that... It's quite sad how mc messes with your head!

Just remembered - I am looking for nice work maternity wear, especially dresses and skirts! Anywhere you can recommend to buy from? I've been looking on the ASOS and New Look websites, but without much luck. Where else that doesn't cost the earth?!

Nousername2015 · 30/07/2015 09:25

Thanks north

mrsdiddlydoo · 30/07/2015 09:29

cloud i've friends who swear by the asos stuff but not tried it. I usually buy h&m when anything is actually in stock in my size. Got some very cheap work trousers from mother care and although the bump band is annoying the trousers fit quite nice. Prob worth a shop around... I ordered loads online with the view I'd return what doesn't fit. Never tried JoJo's stuff. Does anyone know if its any good?

Welcome newbies from the end of the last thread. Hope you have really boring pregnancies... Smile

And thanks for the new thread north

cloudjumper · 30/07/2015 09:47

mrsD I got some trousers from Jojo last weekend, they are really nice, but it's not cheap.... They do nice tops, too, but I reckon I can get away with normal tops a bit longer, and I also still have some from last time that are wearable. Really struggling to find a decent skirt! One that's longer than mid-thigh and not a pencil cut... Not sure why they all seem to think that pregnant ladies want to wear mini-skirts!

CommanderShepard · 30/07/2015 09:49

Hello!

mrsdiddlydoo JoJo stuff is gorgeous and I've found it to be really good quality. Not cheap, but has good resale value on eBay and/or at NCT sales. I particularly love the adjustable wrap tops.

I start maternity leave next week Shock Shock Shock I'll be 34 weeks and I was hoping to go longer but I'm really feeling the strain this time around so best for everyone that I stop trying to be a hero. And there's so much to do around the house that the time off will be really beneficial.

And wouldn't you know it... she's flipped again and she's breech. ARGH. There is plenty of time to go back again, I'm assured, but I have a consultant appointment and I guess we have to consider the possibility of an ELCS. I am still really hoping for a VBAC but in my heart of hearts I think that probably won't happen. On the bright side, everyone I know who had an ELCS after an EMCS says the experience was so different and much nicer. And I can't lie that the logisitics of childcare are made much easier. But we'll see. In the meantime I'm thinking flippy thoughts!

happygojo · 30/07/2015 10:01

Hi all! Marking my place! I got a couple of tops vertbaudet. I didn't get any of their dresses or trousers though. A lot of their stuff is 'before and after' so it fits whilst pregnant and also allow breastfeeding so I suppose you can justify spending a little more... That said they are pretty reasonable anyway.

So 38+3 here and feeling pretty ropey. Just realised that I haven't left the house since Sunday so I am forcing myself to toddle to the beach (5 mins down my road). I have swollen hands, swollen feet, a mild migraine (BP and wee are fine) and I ache all over. I am hoping I go into labour soon but no definite signs yet. Even dtd last night which has been a rare occurrence during pregnancy.

I hope everyone is doing good xxx

mrsdiddlydoo · 30/07/2015 10:07

5 minutes from the beach happy! I'm super jealous Envy

melonface · 30/07/2015 10:31

Place marking Smile

Here here to boring pregnancies!

Rebeccaelizabethxo · 30/07/2015 10:54

cloud my jojo clothes are my faves out of the rest of my maternity stuff, the fits are lovely and the quality is also very nice ! you do pay a little more than some of the other high street brands but I think it is worth it :)

Marchgirl · 30/07/2015 11:34

Making my spot on the new thread. Just had a scan. Measuring pretty much spot on at 6+1 with a heart beat. Hugely relieved!

northdownmummy · 30/07/2015 11:39

I'm feeling brave about the jinx so have ordered my crib and a couple of gro snugs. They're pretty much the only new things this baby will be getting.

Zeuxippe · 30/07/2015 11:51

Thanks north for the new thread!

March congratulations on the scanGrin, really pleased for you!!

cloudjumper · 30/07/2015 11:55

Yay march May the good news long continue (not sure that's grammatically accurate, but I hope you get the drift Wink)

I don't think I will be buying anything new for this baby, we still have all the stuff that we used for DS. However, I might splash out on some new muslins, as the ones we have are getting very threadbare... Looks as if I'll need all my money for mat clothes! My bras are also getting really uncomfortable. And I want maternity sportswear this time... Sigh.

Tftpoo · 30/07/2015 12:07

Gah! What an idiot! I had both threads open and thought I'd posted on this thread but it was the old one. Anyway, I've found you!

Great news march!

MyNameIsSuz · 30/07/2015 12:28

Hello, just hopping on to the new thread!

I'm going to need new maternity clothes too, ds was born in September so it's all the wrong season, and I wore the jeans to death. I saw a gorgeous seraphine skirt in John Lewis but out of stock in my size, grr. Does anyone else find maternity clothes are always cut way too long? The dresses and skirts always end below the knees and make me look dumpy.

mrsdiddlydoo · 30/07/2015 13:32

Successful 20 wk scan here!!! Grin placenta's covering the exit at the moment but I'm hopeful it will move. Dh just bought me the yummiest lunch ever to celebrate. Actually feeling quite pregnant this precise moment. If a bit nervous still but that won't go anyway until I'm cuddling a baby.

cloudjumper · 30/07/2015 13:41

Fantastic news, mrsD! That must be a massive weight off you (but I understand the continuing nervousness).

Suz I have the opposite problem with finding any maternity skirts/dresses that go below the knee! Everywhere I have looked really focus on the above-the-knee look, which is really not for me.

MyNameIsSuz · 30/07/2015 14:05

Cloud, where are you looking? We should swap tips! I find Gap, Jojo and h and m quite long. I do prefer shorter skirts though in autumn and winter as I'm only 5'2" - I like short skirt, loose top, thick tights and ankle boots. It's my work staple!

cloudjumper · 30/07/2015 14:53

Suz I've been looking at Asos, New Look, Purpless, Next, Red Herring - hadn't thought of Gap and H&M!

5hell · 30/07/2015 14:57

Hello!

Another one pg after mc here - room for a little one? Currently 5 and a bit weeks following a mc in april. Lovely to read about those of you pregnant enough to need maternity clothes and having successful scans :)
I'm trying to be positive, but have not been able to get too excited 'just in case'...quite want to buy a preganacy journal but have the jinxy fear Blush

Rebeccaelizabethxo · 30/07/2015 14:58

suz I couldn't agree with you more ! I'm only 5'4 and I find anything below the knee makes me look super frumpy !!!

Tftpoo · 30/07/2015 15:40

Great news mrsD! A lot of good scan news recently is making me feel a bit more positive.

I had the opposite problem with mat clothes suz, everything is too short, to the point of being indecent when I sit down! I like JoJo patterns but their skirts and dresses are very short on me (I am 5ft9). Last time I survived in leggings and tunics so I guess that'll be me again. I found H&M best last time.

Metalhead · 30/07/2015 15:53

Great scan news march and mrsdiddly!

DD and I met up with friends this morning, spent 4 hours walking around the forest/playing and having lunch. Now we're back home and both shattered!

melonface · 30/07/2015 16:38

Hi 5shell and welcome Smile

Treaclepie19 · 30/07/2015 16:48

Oops, I lost you! Just on holiday. Will catch up later on x
