Welcome fiddle, congratulations on your pregnancy! I don't know if I can reassure you but measurements being out doesn't have to mean the worst, although it's bloody hard not to draw that conclusion. At that stage they are so tiny it is likely to be a simple measuring error.

Glad scan went well mrsd and I'm mentally willing your placenta to budge out of the way!

reebok great news! Grin you must be so relieved.

Metalhead · 22/10/2015 16:16

Yay for good scan results reebok, that's a big milestone! I hope you're feeling a bit less anxious, for now anyway.

Also good news on your scan mrsdiddly, hopefully the placenta will move out of the way over the next few weeks.

Welcome fiddle, I can understand why you're so worried having had a mmc myself, and unfortunately there's probably nothing anyone can say right now that will reassure you. Have they offer you another scan to see if bean continues to grow? There are plenty of stories of women who measured behind and everything turned out fine, but equally as you know it could go the other way. Fx yours will be a happy ending.

Brilliant news reebok

I'm loving the cuddles, we introduced Kirstie to her big sister today, made me melt Smile

Marchgirl · 22/10/2015 19:33

Great news on the scan reebok Grin

Welcome fiddle, and congratulations on your pg. Keeping everything crossed that it continues to progress well x

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 22/10/2015 20:28

Welcome fiddle, wishing you a truly boring and uneventful pregnancy, I wouldn't worry too much about measurements at that stage, you may have ovulated a couple of days later and implanted on the later side of the scale...also every buba develops at their own pace. Fingers crossed for you.
Glad scan went well reebok...and yours mrsd!
north hope you're enjoying your newborn snuggles Flowers you make labour sound like a breeze!

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 22/10/2015 20:40

Scan booked for tomorrow at 3.30. Self referred. Scary stuff but they were lovely on the phone..

Marchgirl · 23/10/2015 08:48

Glad they've got you booked in winter and that they were so nice. Hand holding for today x

Reebok · 23/10/2015 13:57

Thanks everyone. Feel like I can relax for a bit now.

Winter good luck for the scan today.

CottonSock · 23/10/2015 14:07

Hi can I join. I don't know how to stay sane! I am 37 and have one DD and 4 mc ranging between 5 and 11 weeks. Pregnant again, almost 5 weeks. Appointment at Epau at 6weeks 4 days, I'm counting days / hours.. On asprin but they said wait for after scan to start progesterone this time.
I'm taking tests several times a day and generally a bit stressed out.

Hello to you all and I will read all your stories now xx

BumbleBee0 · 23/10/2015 14:37

mother good luck with your scan today

winter glad you have a scan booked

cotton welcome, sorry for your losses but congrats on your BFP. Hmmm what is their reasoning for delaying progesterone?? I thought the sooner the better to start it? Do you have the progesterone already? If so I would be inclined to take it now. Hand holding for these early wks, it really is so tough. X

reebok Yey for your scan!! Grin

fiddle my sonographer said its so easy for measurements to be out at these early stages, easily by up to a wk. I think it also depends on the equipment/person as I had a scan, measured +4, then a few days later was at 0, so effectively it had shrunk slightly. Everything is fine though. At my first scan I was -2 so it shows that the dates move around quite a bit. Try not to worry, although it is very hard x

CottonSock · 23/10/2015 14:55

Bumble. Thanks for your reply. They said they wanted to confirm pregnancy in right place. Yes I have supplies. Is it normal to start straight away? Will get into google now. I was a bit worried maybe it could delay inevitable miscarriage..? Maybe?

carrie1008 · 23/10/2015 15:21

Hi everyone! I've had the auditors in work all week so haven't had much time to post so just catching up now. Made it another week to 5 weeks today with no spotting Smile I've booked a GP appt for 6+2 and am going to be asked to be referred for an early scan but just in case I can't have one I've booked a private scan for 7 weeks.Still not many symptoms, just bloating & tiredness...oh and sensitive boobs!!

MotherOfCats · 23/10/2015 16:03

So I had my scan. After an agonising 1 hour wait, everything was fine! The LO was waving away at me and wriggling i was so overwhelmed with relief that I burst into tears. Measuring 10 weeks so I'll be back again in a fortnight for the downs tests. I know it's still not a dead cert, but it feels much more positive now and for the first time in this pregnancy, I finally feel like I am allowed to be happy and excited Smile

winter good luck for your scan today

BumbleBee0 · 23/10/2015 16:52

cotton with progesterone it's usually 7dpo or from BFP. Are you sure they don't mean heparin as they usually check its in the right place before letting you take this (unless you have a diagnosed clotting disorder).

carrie tiredness, bloating and sore boobs sounds like plenty of symptoms to me! Smile

mother Yey for your scan!! Enjoy that lovely feeling!

Marchgirl · 23/10/2015 19:36

Congrats on the great scan mother Grin

Welcome cotton. Sorry to hear about your previous losses but congrats on this new pg. Definitely agree that the prog should be asap after bfp. Yes, there is a possibility that it could delay a mc if it wasn't going to work out, but it could also support a pg that was possible but slightly low on prog. Heparin they ask you to wait till scan because if it was ectopic that doesn't mix very well with blood thinners, but i really can't see any reason to wait for the prog. 6+4 seems very late to start it. Have you had a previous ectopic that they are concerned about this?
Hand holding for these early weeks xx

CottonSock · 23/10/2015 19:43

They were a bit contradictory with their advice so I did keep asking. Not had heparin and all bloods were ok. Will start the pessaries tonight, can't hurt.

Congrats on scans today. Great milestone

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 25/10/2015 21:35

One more week till scan! Counting down the days Grin

Rebeccaelizabethxo · 25/10/2015 23:20

Hope you've all had lovely weekends ladies !

Got a mat leave question and wondering if any of you know the answer, I'm due to finish on the 9th of November, but after this weekend of being pissed about, left on my own and with not enough staff (working in care) I've realised I just can't do it any more, I'm beyond tired, and I just feel like it doesn't matter that I'm heavily pregnant and I'm just expected to get on with it, if I went to the gp and got signed off, could this mean my maternity leave could just being earlier ? Or would it have to be down as two weeks sick leave ? Sad

Nousername2015 · 26/10/2015 05:31

I think it starts mat leave automatically if you're 36w+, how many weeks are you?

Rebeccaelizabethxo · 26/10/2015 06:11

35+4, so not far off 36 weeks, perhaps I'll have to ride it out a couple more days and then go to the gp, also going to speak to my boss today and try and resolve some of the issues, it's just too late in the day for me to still be being treated like a dogs body !

mrsdiddlydoo · 26/10/2015 08:13

nouser is right. rebecca If you are off with a pregnancy related illness in the last 4 weeks your employer can ask you to start maternity leave. They might ignore odd days, but depends on the employer.

Great scan news at the end of last week. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Feeling a bit lost here. Nothing serious though. Our friends seem to be giving us a wide berth at the moment which is annoying me. Dh can still join in with their fun so I guess I feel bad for him. An old friend text last night and mentioned she was nervous about getting in touch in case she jinxes things (!) Which has made me wonder if she's just said what others are thinking. Did reply saying we feel similar so I understand. Just got a hormonal person thinking.

Bloody clocks changing too. Toddlers don't get the extra hour in bed thing!!
