40 weeks today (but due to being pregnant immediately following a MC I've been pregnant 11 months bar a brief 2 week interlude) and massively fed up. It's strange because I definitely did not feel like this with DC1?!

Didn't feel like getting out of bed today (or all of last week...) just want to hibernate til the baby makes an appearance.

My DM and friends keep trying to get me to go out for coffee, lunch etc but the thought of being sociable fills me with dread Sad

The constant barrage of 'anything?' texts is driving me crazy and my DP is pissing me off just by breathingHmm.

I know I am being totally unreasonable, but please tell me I'm not the only one feeling like this! Don't get me wrong, I am not depressed and I love my DP and can't wait for our baby to come but I am soooooh over being pregnant!

Come and hold my hand, please!! Grin

msmb are you able to ask for an appt at an alternative community clinic? Or maybe you could call your maternity assessment unit, tell them you had a sweep and could they do another?

purple not much more happening, getting a lot of pressure down there. But waters still intact and no contractions. Guess it's a waiting game now. Fingers crossed something happens for us both soon!

starfish12 · 22/06/2015 13:12

Msmb can you try your antenatal unit at the hospital? That's where I had mine. So it's the day unit ( not labour triage place), where you have your scan or where you report to if you felt you needed monitoring for example...

MSMB · 22/06/2015 13:21

Thanks starfish I will give them a call and see if they will help! Did the sweep work for you? Xxx

guinnessgirl · 22/06/2015 17:50

always, purple - seems like you might both be giving us good news in the next few days! Here's hoping!

MSMB, I'm afraid I can't help - I get home visits from midwives (planned home birth) so don't know protocol for other systems.

I had a scan today because baby's growth has slowed, but it was really just a formality as midwives reckon it's due to baby's head being so low. Anyway, all's well, but still no signs of labour at all... so we keep on waiting...

Purpleboa · 22/06/2015 18:41

In the latent stage of labour apparently. Contractions about 5 to 7 mins apart and really painful - Ok I guess I knew they would be but not this bad! Called hospital and even despite me having two contractions while on phone, they were adamant I shouldn't come in yet.

Feel like such a wuss but struggling to cope with the pain! I really want to sleep as it's exhausting me but no chance of that. I'm trying to relax and breathe my way through it but that doesn't help much. Just want it to be over and to be holding my baby!

guinnessgirl · 22/06/2015 19:33

purple, it is hard - not having pain relief is tough. Have you tried sitting in the bath? I found it really took the edge off the contractions when I was tired x

Alwayswaiting · 22/06/2015 19:41

purple when mine were bad on Saturday night, I did what guinness has just suggested and sat in a warm bath, it really helped me. And helps with the pain levels. My maternity unit wouldn't see me till 3mins apart, but you can do this, deep breaths really helped too. xx

starfish12 · 22/06/2015 21:54

MSMB - yes my sweep worked - had it on Thursday 5pm and went into labour 24hrs later. I was term + 11 so it might have been coincidence!

Good luck purple, hope things progress quicker for you!

HelenF350 · 22/06/2015 22:14

How are you getting on Purple, any progress?

Nothing happening here. No cramps, no contractions. Hmm

hullabaloo234 · 23/06/2015 08:14

Hi Purple-I hope you're snuggled up with your baby after their safe arrival last night! Smile

How is everyone else getting on? Can't be much longer surely?! Come on babies! Grin

Any news always and purple? None here, couldn't get a sweep yesterday so hoping a midwife can see me today and kickstart something. Hopefully it will have the same results it's dos for starfish!
P.s the skin on my bump is red raw I think because I'm so big and stretched. So itchy too- any tips other than bio oil?

Alwayswaiting · 23/06/2015 08:38

purple is anything happening? Have you had the baby? I hope so!

msmb fingers crossed, I hope you get a sweep today, let's hope it triggers something off for you. I've only used bio oil on my bump. It does help, but sometimes makes it a bit itchy too?!

No further updates here.... So yesterday had my show at about 9.30am. This morning, I had another show, sorry if this is too much information, but it's been like half a handful of mucus/brown stained gunk each time. So maybe I lost half yesterday and half today??

I have a bit of lower back pain, but that's it, nothing happening. Such slow progress. But I guess at least it's something, maybe things are progressing.

hulla how are you, are you back home? How's recovery going?

guinnessgirl · 23/06/2015 09:14

hi all. Looks like things might be starting up here - been having mild contractions every five minutes or so for the last hour or two. Am also possessed by an overwhelming desire to tidy and hoover the house! Early days, I think, but it's looking hopeful Smile

Alwayswaiting · 23/06/2015 09:37

Fingers crossed guinness

MSMB · 23/06/2015 10:28

Woohoo guiness good luck keep us updated xxx

hullabaloo234 · 23/06/2015 10:52

Ahhh Guiness, won't be long now! same for everyone else too, they have to come soon surely!

Yes we are home, got discharged sun lunchtime so all settled now Smile I feel absolutely amazing, SPD pretty much cleared up bar a bit of stiffness, can roll over in bed, get in the car etc without agony it's great!Grin baby is doing so well, MW came yest but won't come back til sat unless we need her as we are both fine.

Hey ladies! So baby Isobel arrived today at 2.20am! Labour was a shock to the system - Ok I knew it would be hard but seriously, ouch! Proud to have got through it with just gas and air :) The moment when she arrived was just amazingly incredible. Have spent all day gazing at our little girl and falling even deeper in love. So happy Smile

Hope to hear some more good news - Guiness, am rooting for you! Thanks to all for your support and encouragement - this thread has really helped me hold it together in these last few weeks!

MSMB · 23/06/2015 16:43

Awww Purple congratulations that's lovely news! Cheers me up hearing that everyone is getting there and meeting their little ones ?xx

I requested a sweep today (had one last week) and was gutted to discover that the baby has moved completely back out of position. Midwife doesn't think she will arrive anytime soon so I was gutted as she was far down and engaged only a few days ago. Really hope lots of walking and ball bouncing will get her back in place. Confused

Alwayswaiting · 23/06/2015 18:22

Well done purple that's lovely news, so pleased for you.

Nothing happening here... Had reflexology today so maybe that will start something off.

Well another sweep might trigger something off msmb I guess we both just have to stay positive that it'll be our turn soon!!

guinnessgirl · 23/06/2015 18:49

congratulations purple! Wonderful news.

I am very happy to say that DS2 was born at 12.54pm at home, as planned, after a very fast delivery! Contractions ramped up quick and fast around 10am, DH and best friend arrived around 11.15ish, and waters broke around 12.30 - didn't even manage to get in the pool! Had gas and air for last 15 mins for the pushing, but otherwise no pain relief Shock so we have a beautiful, as yet unnamed little boy, 8lb 8oz. Grin

MSMB, always, am rooting for you! Hope you have good news to share soon Smile

HelenF350 · 23/06/2015 19:25

Congratulations Purple! ????

Still no sign of anything happening here, just cramps and tightenings and a pelvis that feels like it's gonna explode every time I take a step Hmm Come on bump, mummy and daddy want to meet you.

HelenF350 · 23/06/2015 19:26

Congratulations Guinness ????

starfish12 · 23/06/2015 21:46

Alwayswaiting · 23/06/2015 22:00

guiness congratulations, what great news, so pleased for you all who've had their little ones!!

helen I feel the same, really heavy in my pelvis! Nothing's happened since my show... So have been chilling, and watching Netflix today!! Have given up with the walking and upright stuff now, been doing that for weeks to no avail! So gonna do feet up!

Next appointment with the midwife is Sunday to discuss induction...

Purpleboa · 24/06/2015 08:18
