40 weeks today (but due to being pregnant immediately following a MC I've been pregnant 11 months bar a brief 2 week interlude) and massively fed up. It's strange because I definitely did not feel like this with DC1?!

Didn't feel like getting out of bed today (or all of last week...) just want to hibernate til the baby makes an appearance.

My DM and friends keep trying to get me to go out for coffee, lunch etc but the thought of being sociable fills me with dread Sad

The constant barrage of 'anything?' texts is driving me crazy and my DP is pissing me off just by breathingHmm.

I know I am being totally unreasonable, but please tell me I'm not the only one feeling like this! Don't get me wrong, I am not depressed and I love my DP and can't wait for our baby to come but I am soooooh over being pregnant!

Come and hold my hand, please!! Grin

I have been feeling uncharacteristically grumpy and teary today, and also really nauseous, so am hopeful that these are good signs, even if I do feel rough! Midwife visit for me too today, so am hoping for a sweep. Let's hope that it works for some of us!

hullabaloo234 · 16/06/2015 09:40

hurrah for midwife appointments! I hope it works for us all and that by this time tomorrow we'll be snuggling our gorgeous newborns Smile

Thanks for having me! I will begging midwife for a sweep. She isn't very proactive. Aloof at best!
Fingers crossed I will get a sweep. I at least want an induction date.
If anyone dares tell me the baby will come when its ready today I will not be held responsible for my actions!

Fingers crossed for sweeps and labours ladies!

hullabaloo234 · 16/06/2015 11:28

Defo push for one ladies if that is what you want, you are full term so no need to say no! I'm lucky, my MW is ace and tried to do one last week at 39+2. she is going to push my consultant for an induction date today too if poss, so I'm not waiting an age for them to book one at ten days over

guinnessgirl · 16/06/2015 12:54

Well, midwife has been and happy to do a sweep - apparently baby's head is very low and cervix feels quite thin, so signs are good Smile am hoping and praying that it won't be long now!

hullabaloo234 · 16/06/2015 13:30

Woohoo! that's great news! I was 2cm dilated so was able to do a sweep too Smile my baby was 8lb at 37 wk scan and today I am measuring 44wks so MW referring me to day unit for a plan ref induction, waiting for a call for when to go in. When is your next appt if sweep doesn't work?

guinnessgirl · 16/06/2015 13:34

hullabaloo, glad things are going well for you too! Are you happy with the plan? So pleased you'll be meeting your little one soon.

Just had a look at my notes and figured out my Bishop Score is 9 Shock so that's got to be good! Having another sweep on Saturday if this one doesn't kick things off Smile

CanIGoToBedNow · 16/06/2015 13:36

39+1

Baby was breech until last week..... I'm huge and they don't want me going past 40 weeks so seeing the consultant on Thursday. Not sure what for. Maybe a sweep and a pessary?

So hot today Sad thought we were all systems go last night but no Sad Sad.

Took DS to a preschool today to have a look and one of he key workers is an ex midwife. Took one look at me and said 'heads not dropped' great that means and induction and I really wanted to start this one off naturally!

Had enough today

hullabaloo234 · 16/06/2015 13:38

That's definitely got to be good! with any luck you won't need thst second sweep Smile I'm happy that something is happening, I don't want to wait another week before they even look in the diary for an induction date if my baby is already 10lbs! Shock

Hello can I join....?
41 + 1 here. Am mega pissed off as I decided to go for a VBAC this time (first was induced and ended in EMCS), went for a sweep yesterday and they couldn't do it as my cervix was closed. She then went to book me in for a c section on Friday but thankfully they are fully booked this week. Got to see the doctor tomorrow to beg for an extension till Monday when I'll be 42 weeks, but I just feel so cross if I end up having a c section at 42 weeks when I could have bloody had one at 39 weeks!!!! I can still be induced but only if my cervix opens so they can break my waters - apparently you can't have the pessary for risk of scar rupture from previous section. I'm now thinking why oh why did I bother. Hospital bag and clothes Moses basket gathering dust...
A lady in a shop asked me if I was having twins.... I mean honestly you don't say that to a stranger!!
Sending everyone positive labour vibes!!!xo

hullabaloo234 · 16/06/2015 14:01

Ahhhh starfish, I'm so sorry to hear you are so fed up but rest assured you are in good company, we all totally understand. When have you got til to be dilated enough for waters to be broken?? I'd be bouncing on my ball like nobody's business lol x

guinnessgirl · 16/06/2015 14:30

oh starfish, that sucks. Sorry to hear that it's not looking good for VBAC. You never know what might happen in the next few days though Thanks

hullabaloo234 · 16/06/2015 14:35

Will keep everything crossed for everyone that our babies come soon!

My MW just called and my consultant can see me tonight at 5 so will hopefully get a plan for induction today Smile

I feel everyone's pain! I'm 39+6 and midwife checked me yesterday to say my cervix is closed and no sign of baby yet! I've been having horrendous braxton hicks for over 2 weeks so I was devestated when she said this Sad and made me feel like it will be a while until baby arrives!
I'm sick of comments such as 'she will arrive when she's ready'...'enjoy this time you have to yourself' and the worst of all 'hohoho do you have triplets in there?'
I could actually scream at the women in my local supermarket who repeat these comments whenever I go!
Fingers crossed it can't last much longer! Xxx

guinnessgirl · 16/06/2015 14:55

hi MSMB. I'm 39+6 too. The comments are infuriating, aren't they?! I know most people are just being nice and making conversation, but they don't stop to think if they might be the 15th person to say it that day... Hmm

MSMB · 16/06/2015 15:00

Haha Guinnessgirl it's exactly that! I try to get on with life and not focus too much on wanting the baby to arrive but then you are confronted by well meaning people making comments constantly. It makes me feel like hibernating at home and unplugging all my social media and phones to avoid!! Have you had any signs yet? X

guinnessgirl · 16/06/2015 15:32

YY to wanting to hide away. In fact I've done exactly that today! Am feeling a bit nauseous and dodgy stomach, so it could be a sign that things are starting - or it could just be a bug! Grin

Purpleboa · 16/06/2015 17:25

Hello all! Due date today but little lady couldn't be further from making an appearance! Today I have vented at my husband, my mum and the poor washing machine repair man. I have also just eaten an entire Terry's chocolate orange (isn't it well known for moving labour along?? What do you mean, that's pineapple). I am fed up and the thought of another two weeks is enough to drive me slightly insane!

I do have a hospital appointment on Thursday though, so am going to ask about being induced.

Hoping tonight might be the night for us!

Wenglish · 16/06/2015 17:41

Afternoon, I can't read all the posts, silly phone so will check in later.
I got my sweep and then got contractions which then stopped.
I'm so cross!
She is coming back Sunday to do another if nothing before hand.
Just waiting for DH to come home and take over for bedtime.
Bleugh!
Hope everyone else has had a more positive day!

HelenF350 · 16/06/2015 19:23

Update, something is on the move. My plug is coming out. Please let this baby come soon Grin

hullabaloo234 · 16/06/2015 19:40

Oh I hope so Helen! keep us posted! everyone else too, good news might spur the rest of us on!

Consultant booked my induction for sat so providing it's not rammed on the unit I'll be away then Smile got to call 8am and double check before we head in.

MSMB · 16/06/2015 19:53

Ooo Helen don't think you will have long to go! Keep us updated! Hullabaloo bet you can't wait to have your little one in your arms now Grin hope Saturday goes well and it's quick for you x

hullabaloo234 · 16/06/2015 19:54

I know! keeping everything crossed they have a bed for me and I'll have my baby by Sunday Smile

any cramps or backache Helen?

40+4 here. I just want to hide and cry. Have had 2 sweeps, induction is Monday. Midwives seem adamant I won't get to the induction-pregnancy has been ridiculously vile so far, so I have no doubts that an induction is on the cards! Argh.
