40 weeks today (but due to being pregnant immediately following a MC I've been pregnant 11 months bar a brief 2 week interlude) and massively fed up. It's strange because I definitely did not feel like this with DC1?!

Didn't feel like getting out of bed today (or all of last week...) just want to hibernate til the baby makes an appearance.

My DM and friends keep trying to get me to go out for coffee, lunch etc but the thought of being sociable fills me with dread Sad

The constant barrage of 'anything?' texts is driving me crazy and my DP is pissing me off just by breathingHmm.

I know I am being totally unreasonable, but please tell me I'm not the only one feeling like this! Don't get me wrong, I am not depressed and I love my DP and can't wait for our baby to come but I am soooooh over being pregnant!

Come and hold my hand, please!! Grin

user, congratulations! That's fantastic news, and really encouraging too! That must have been some speedy labour - weren't you still posting yesterday lunchtime with no obvious signs? Wink

Purpleboa · 18/06/2015 10:26

Huge congratulations User! What a lovely name, Willow! Aww so happy one of us have made it Grin

I'm just at the hospital after more blood pressure checks (it fluctuated slightly in week 37). All fine so just waiting to discuss plans with doctor. Unless he's concerned, I'm going to ask for an induction date towards end of next week, and hope the baby arrives before then. Is this too risky? I just really want her to be able to work to her own schedule, but at the same time, don't want to risk her health (or my sanity!) by holding off too long!

Hope today's the day for some of you...

hullabaloo234 · 18/06/2015 10:40

providing all looks ok purple, you should be ok. Whwn I had my daughter I was induced at 10 days over as the placenta was failing, but was told that really this doesn't normally start to happen til around 14 days over so you should be fine to wait Smile

Thanks hulla! Just been told same thing by doc so that's great. Getting a date booked in for induction but only right towards the end. Will be monitored in meantime. Am happy with this outcome. Now let's hope these babies start packing their bags and get moving! Maybe I'll try and get romantic tonight with DH...

hullabaloo234 · 18/06/2015 11:06

ahhh good I'm glad the doctor is happy to go along with what you wantedSmile

when are you booked in? fingers crossed we'll all go into labour before our induction dates Wink

OP posts:
hullabaloo234 · 18/06/2015 11:08

as for getting romantic, it's worth a try, me and DP have done the deed about 6 times since Tues and it's done nothing for me yet Sad willing to try anything though at this point!

Purpleboa · 18/06/2015 12:10

Booked for 26th! Monitoring check Monday. She did offer me a sweep there and then but I freaked and said no! But will have one Monday if no sign.

Six times wow! Don't think either of us have the stamina ha, but we'll give it a go :)

Back to waiting...think it's time to break out the boxsets. That and stalking the conference I organised at work via Twitter, really having to hold myself back from texting my maternity cover to see how it's all going! Think she'll be thrilled when labour starts and I leave her alone...

hullabaloo234 · 18/06/2015 12:14

Hahaha bless you, I think my work colleagues think the same about me, I keep checking in Grin

Don't worry too much about the sweep if you have one, no more uncomfortable than a smear and if it works will be well worth it Smile

As for stamina, that's DP's problem not mine! It's all I can do to get in a sodding position to make doing the deed possible and stay there long enough without my back/hips/SPD playing up hahaha!

Box sets is a great plan, I'm flying through orange is the new black as we speak Smile

6 times since Tues!! Go hull! I thought I was doing well at daily for the last week.

Really great you have a plan you are happy with purple. It's a balance between feeling like you have been given enough time for nature to take its course and not putting your baby at risk.

Does anyone else keep checking their pants for a show every time they go to the loo? I'm starting to feel a bit mental... Hmm

hullabaloo234 · 18/06/2015 12:42

Literally just dine this star! I really thought having two sweeps would have dislodged it but nothing?! Then again I don't remember seeing it with DD1 either.
Yep, six times....normally love a bit of nookie but honestly it's such a chore now lol!

hullabaloo234 · 18/06/2015 12:47

Yes star, constantly! Really thought 2 sweeps would have dislodged it but nothing?! Confused

Whats everyone doing today? I am boxset watching but as it's so nice out I might venture into the garden with my book for a bit.

The labour ward was so hot whwn we were there a couple of weeks ago, on a wet windy day, dreading how hot it will be in there on sat Sad Had DD1 during a heatwave and ended up begging for a hospital gown to wear instead of my birthing nightie purely for the backless element-soooo much cooler lol!

Purpleboa · 18/06/2015 12:49

Well, I'm in Scotland and it's freezing here! So much for my vision of spending maternity leave in the garden. Guess at least it means a less hot labour...

hullabaloo234 · 18/06/2015 13:02

Here's to a good summer after the babies are born so we can spend long days in the garden and park, beach etc Smile

HelenF350 · 18/06/2015 16:02

I'm in Scotland too and it is bloody freezing, don't know what's happened to summer! Been at my relaxation class today, which was very good but was very uncomfortable as started getting contractions again. They have since stopped again Hmm Midwife tomorrow so fingers crossed I'm in a position for a sweep.

spillyobeans · 18/06/2015 17:32

Im in scotland too and actually liking the cooler weather, i just keep feeling so overheated all the time!

My due date today and not had any signs of anything yet Sad

starfish12 · 18/06/2015 18:08

Had a very forceful sweep today! DH said bloody hell looked like she had given the baby a black eye!!
Am pleased tho as Monday my interior cervix was closed and today it was 1-2cm dilated. She also told us to go home and have sex doggy style!! I'm trying not to get my hopes up but surely something has to happen before my Monday induction. I'll be term +11 tomorrow!
It's bloody boiling here so I've been hiding indoors...
Any niggles /pains/shows from anyone today?

hullabaloo234 · 18/06/2015 18:46

hello all! gave the baby a black eye Grin
fingers crossed it works for you star - get on those knees girl!Grin

I must say I am so jealous of you all in Scotland with your cool weather- although it's not as hot as yesterday here it's still very warm and muggy. Driving my DP mad having a fan on at night lol!

Any more twinges Helen?? I've literally had not a twinge all day Sad Please please please all keep everything crossed for me that they have a bed for me sat so I can be induced and get this baby out of me!!

OP posts:
starfish12 · 18/06/2015 20:21

Everything is crossed for you hull - do you find out tomorrow re the induction?

Hang in there spill - do you have a sweep or anything booked in?

guinnessgirl · 18/06/2015 21:10

starfish, sounds like things are moving along - good sign!

hullabaloo, praying that you get in on Saturday - or, even better, that things kick off tomorrow on their own Smile

Still nothing here. Today I have jumped up and down, drunk raspberry leaf tea, walked, just had a spicy curry... and now trying persuade DH to 'help out' Grin I figure something's got to work!!

hullabaloo234 · 18/06/2015 21:16

already booked in, but have to call on the day to make sure no emergencies have gone in overnight to take my space. fingers crossed they haven't and I can get this done and dusted sat Smile

Hang in there girls, we are all so close!! Keep necking the tea and have some sexy time Grin

Usernamesarehard · 19/06/2015 01:54

Yep she and within 45mins of me arriving at hospital! But dramatic lol!
She's fed absolutely non stop since and I am knackered. Hope some more babies start turning up!

hullabaloo234 · 19/06/2015 06:30

User- wow, that's crazy quick! I hope your recovering well and the feeding frenzy settles down soon! Are you home now?

MSMB · 19/06/2015 07:53

Hi everyone! Quick update from me. I had my sweep yesterday morning, at 12 last night I woke up to a bad period pain feeling and mild contractions/braxton hicks. I got excited but now the contractions seem to have eased off!! What do you think is happening???? Xx

Purpleboa · 19/06/2015 08:26

Any other babies arrived during the night? MSMB it sounds promising - these things seem to come and go during early labour although I'm no expert

I have period pains again and some tight braxton hicks yesterday but nothing else.

What are people's plans for today? Waiting for the washing machine repair man (lol sounds a bit dodgy in a 'the milkman always comes twice' way - maybe he can help get labour started? ;) then maybe a gentle swim. And yet another afternoon nap!

hullabaloo234 · 19/06/2015 08:29

Hi MSMB! I had the same thing tiesTues after my sweeps but died off weds. Could be the start of labour, or could be a false alarm. I'm hoping that it means we ate effacing and/or dilating and that's what causes the cramps Smile Have you got another one booked if this one doesn't do the trick? x
