40 weeks today (but due to being pregnant immediately following a MC I've been pregnant 11 months bar a brief 2 week interlude) and massively fed up. It's strange because I definitely did not feel like this with DC1?!

Didn't feel like getting out of bed today (or all of last week...) just want to hibernate til the baby makes an appearance.

My DM and friends keep trying to get me to go out for coffee, lunch etc but the thought of being sociable fills me with dread Sad

The constant barrage of 'anything?' texts is driving me crazy and my DP is pissing me off just by breathingHmm.

I know I am being totally unreasonable, but please tell me I'm not the only one feeling like this! Don't get me wrong, I am not depressed and I love my DP and can't wait for our baby to come but I am soooooh over being pregnant!

Come and hold my hand, please!! Grin

hullabaloo234 · 16/06/2015 23:27

Me too, fingers toes the lot! Cramping has to be a good sign right?? Got some backache and period pains tonightso maybe my two sweeps are helping Grin

I'm having irregular cramping, and full on D&V. can't keep anything down. Also can't sleep well. Really hoping things start properly soon as I can't function normally like this! Angry

iwanttobeadragonthisyear · 17/06/2015 04:53

ARRRGH i was due the 14th as well, no midwife until next Wednesday now, Im the same as GuinnessGirl. I cant function like this anymore!!

Has anyone tried any "natural" induction methods other than sex that worked? I cant do sex, i think i would cry the whole time!! LOL

hullabaloo234 · 17/06/2015 06:46

Oh Guiness Sad how are you feeling now? If the D&V carries on I'd speak to the midwife, hope you can at least keep water down? I really feel for you, it cant be much feeling that crappy.

Welcome I wantto - As far as I know sex is really the only one that had any real science behind it,but even that is sketchy at best! I had a quickie last night as I'd had 2 sweeps yest and hoped it might tip me into labour but apart from period cramps I've got nada Sad lots of anecdotal evidence for pineapple, castor oil etc but they just give you diarrhea, which I wouldn't want to deal with whilst in labour myself! Shock do let us know though if you can get anything to work. is it baby no 1?

OP posts:
guinnessgirl · 17/06/2015 06:57

iwantto, hello! Sad to say that none of the 'natural' methods have science behind them. I ate an entire pineapple in one sitting last time round, and all it did was hurt my mouth! I'm afraid baby comes when baby is ready Sad

I am feeling less sick this morning and did get at least a few hours of unbroken sleep. Haven't attempted eating yet though... I've only kept down water in the last 24 hours. Feeling very hard done by, as no more labour signs - I really though things were starting yesterday Angry so it may just have been a bug! Very bad timing!

hullabaloo234 · 17/06/2015 07:07

Ahhhh how disappointing! Will keep hoping it was a false start rather than a bug and that today is the day! Put your feet up and relax today if you can just in case xx

Anyone else wake up in the morning really sad that nothing happened in the night?

hullabaloo234 · 17/06/2015 07:59

ohhhhh yes! really hoped after 2 sweeps yest that my cramps might lead to something overnight but woken up to the same cramps and feeling sick rather than contractions lol!
Any signs at all MSMB?

OP posts:
MSMB · 17/06/2015 08:17

I get cramps and strong braxton hicks on and off, every night I wake up in the early hours and think 'will this progress to more??' Then they fade off and next thing it's morning! Very frustrating. Got a sweep tomorrow morning so fingers crossed but I do feel like the stress of her not arriving in time probably doesn't help hehe xx

starfish12 · 17/06/2015 08:26

I had loads of cramps and braxton hicks last night, totally convinced I'd wake up in labour but sadly not... only think I woke to was my 20 month old crying at 3am!
Hope you feeling better guiness, not nice being I'll this late on!
I've got acupuncture today followed by seeing the doctor at the hospital which I'm dreading. Luckily DH is coming otherwise I'd probably just cry and be useless.
As for natural remedies we've been sh*gging for days but that clearly isn't working. Also if you Google acupressure points for bringing on labour you can start to massage certain points, I honestly think that's what gave me the cramps last night.
Good luck ladies, surely one of us has to drop soon?! Hope the sweep goes well MSMB x

Purpleboa · 17/06/2015 08:40

Morning all! Woke up with cramps at about 3 am but nothing doing. I've decided to shelve it all for now, going to meet friends today and make the most of me time, stressing is doing my head in! I'm sorry that none of us have any news yet argh! How frustrating...

Purpleboa · 17/06/2015 08:43

Oh and am mightily impressed by the shaggers - my libido went on the missing list at 28 weeks! Have had sex a few times since but the terror on hubby's face as he continually asks 'am I going to hurt the baby??' isn't really doing it for either of us, strangely enough! DM sending me some raspberry leaves and might buy a pineapple today...

hullabaloo234 · 17/06/2015 09:02

Meeting friends sounds like a great idea, take your mind off it for a bit! Smile

Whats everyone else doing today? I've just had a half-hearted run about with the Hoover and mop and given the bathroom a quick clean, but can't be arsed with anything else. Might have a day in bed watching boxsets Blush still not feeling very sociable.
Only 9am and already had 3 messages asking if there is any news.....AAARRRGGGH! Angry

starfish12 · 17/06/2015 09:21

Needs must purpleboa... anything to get this baby to come naturally.
Box sets sounds like a good idea. I had a chilled TV day yesterday which was lovely. Today is mostly going to be focused on obsessing about going into labour tho as I have various appointments...

hullabaloo234 · 17/06/2015 09:46

ahhh well if you've got loads you need to do, sods law you will go into labour!Grin I really hope it happens for you today!

Have awoken pregnant again.... Irregular cramping that's died off. 40+5!!! I just want her out! Sad

hullabaloo234 · 17/06/2015 10:17

Sad it really does suck doesn't it! I'm back in bed watching TV with my fan on as I'm so hot and miserable!
DP has hurt his back so is on his way home (military dr signed him off for 2 days) so will have some company I suppose Hmm
Was induced last time so not sure what early labour feels like- should I be optimistic about these cramps and backache does anyone know?! My hope is that I dilate enough between now and sat that they only need to break my waters to get things going.

OP posts:
Usernamesarehard · 17/06/2015 11:02

I've never been induced- got told on Sunday I'm 3cm, but not to get excited because it's my third child! Sad
Sweep yest and have lost my plug. I'm so upset, all pains have trailed off. May go for a walk so people can laugh and stare... Why are people so rude??
I've been told an induction for me would only involve a pessarie & breaking my waters. Why they're making me wait til Monday I can't understand. What diff does it make to them?? Makes a life of difference to me however!!!

Hope your cramps are dilating you a bit so at very least an induction would be relatively straightforward!

starfish12 · 17/06/2015 12:24

If you are 3cm user they shouldn't need to give you a pessary as you have already started dilating? That's brilliant you have had a show and are 3cm, sounds like you are practically there...

I've not experienced early labour either hullabaloo as was also induced last time, cramps sound good tho. Is your induction on Saturday then?

I've just been for acupuncture this am so will see what effect that has...

hullabaloo234 · 17/06/2015 13:37

Oh the staring yes! and have you noticed a lot or the less well meaning comments about how huge we are etc are from older women that have likely had kids themselves?! Women really can be bitchy can't they!!

User, as long as the cervix is 100%effaced you won't need the pessary, as the pessary softens and shortens the cervix. If you are already here, they will be able to just beak your waters and hopefully your labour will go swimmingly and be over in a couple of hours Wink Although I am 2-3cm dilated, I'm still only 50% effaced so unless that changes I'll need a pessary to get rid of that before they can go straight to ARM.

Oooh starfish I'm interested to see if the acupuncture helps-I've tried to book in for reflexology but my practitioner is fully booked Sad will call if she gets a cancellation but I'm hoping it will be too late. perhaps I should try and find an acupuncturist instead. Yes induction us booked for sat am, providing they have a bed (you have to phone ahead here at 8 and they let you know when to come in). Will be gutted if I have to wait til Monday

OP posts:
Usernamesarehard · 17/06/2015 14:25

Omg yes hullabaloo! And the "I was never as big as you" usually from morbidly obese people.

Ok that's great news because they said my cervix was 100% effaced!! Ah I wish they could bring it forward. I have this feeling of they could just break my waters I'd be on my way!! Ds1 came at 37 weeks, I was so lucky!! And only went 2 days over with ds2.

hullabaloo234 · 17/06/2015 14:34

ah that great news then! if your fully effaced and 3cm they will just break your waters and away you'll go Smile try pleapleapleading with your MW to bring it forward, can't hurt to try?
