After being up half the night reading the forum ive finaly plucked up the courage to ask you guys for some advice. Bear with me its a long one but I really need to speak to people who know.

Im pregnant and going for my first scan tomorrow - at an abortion clinic. Now this was a bit of a knee jerk panic reaction however I have a feeling that Im going to be over 24 weeks. My last bleed was in april and just for 2 days but heavy. Since then ive had no more bleeding but because of being on the large side its not odd for my periods to come and go as they please. I have had absolutley no symptoms at all, no sickness, no sore boobs, nothing. Untill 2 weeks ago when I felt incredibly bloated and then wednesday when i had a leaky nipple. Took a pregnancy test on thursday and it was positive. Went to the doctors on friday and have my scan tomorrow.

Im 25, been in a relationship with my brilliant boyfriend for 5 years. But we are terrified. Currently living appart to save up for a house depoisit but I changed jobs 2 months ago and he was made redundant a month ago. Hes with his parents and im living with my nan as she sometimes needs help in the night if she falls etc.

If im correct in counting from my bleed in april that would put me at about 27 weeks.... so possibly no going back now! Which Im not entirely dissapointed about and neither is my OH, hes been lovely and less panicky than me!

My biggest issue is telling my parents. My mum is going to totaly flip and I dont want to ruin our good relationship especialy this close to christmas. Please say someone else has been in my shoes? Im so scared its going to ruin everything!!!!

Wow, I am in awe of you. I'm also having a girl, due on the same day Grin I've been utterly transfixed by this thread having just found it while unable to sleep tonight.

I think you are incredible to have got the through all the shock, upset and loss in such a short amount of time.

Huge congratulations to you!! It sounds to me like you are going to be an incredible mum! X

SoonToBeSix · 22/11/2014 02:17

Congratulations

Arkkorox · 22/11/2014 18:56

Thank you all.

I am exhausted today and I havent really done anything!!!

Looking forward to a curry and putting my feet up tonight, my partner has really come into his own the last week. Im torn between wanting baby to stay put till after the funeral on wednesday and coming now!!! Shes been wiggling more today than yesterday which has helped me relax I think.

Mrsgentle2014 · 24/11/2014 15:37

Literally just read your whole thread... Oh my good god woman! Hats off to you! You are dealing with everything life has thrown at you SO well!! I don't think I would have been quite as calm as you've appeared to be...! Sounds wonderful though - your due date is today?? Keep us updated! :) congratulations and good luck!? X

Allstoppedup · 24/11/2014 16:02

Oh my goodness just stumbled on your emotional rollercoaster of a thread ark

I've laughed and cried (especially when your mum took you shopping against your expectations!)

So sorry for your loss and huge congratulations on your little ninja stealth baby! I'm a wee bit jealous of your ability to grow a person without any of the symptoms I spent 9 months moaning about! Grin

You are amazing and come across like a total sweetheart!

Good luck!

Arkkorox · 24/11/2014 18:46

Haha Thanks ladies, sorry for making you cry! Due day is indeed today and so far...... nothing! I am mega uncomfy!

Emotionaly im a tad all over the place worrying about labour, the future, money, work etc but I know theres sod all I can do till babys here and settled in. I had a bit of a blub at my partner last night and again, he was brilliant.

I just want my baby here now! Everyone keeps saying how strange it is that shes coming the same year we lost 2 family members, in a weird way I think my gran went knowing that she would be able to help me more than she could if she was still alive.... if that makes sense. I miss her terribly and I am so sad she wont ever get to meet her great grandaughter, but these things happen for a reason.

Allstoppedup · 24/11/2014 20:24

hugs it is such a high emotion time and with the shocks you've had this year it's hardly surprising you feel all over the place! I'm sure your grandmother would be very proud of you.

I went two weeks past my due date and it was VERY irritating waiting but can say it's totally worth it and I'd do it all again in a heartbeat! I found pregnancy much harder than labour overall and you've already dealt with that pretty stoically!Grin

I hope your little girl arrives soon and safely. (I can say that eating pineapple does NOT work! I ate about 5 whole ones the week after my due date in an effort to coax him out!)

Arkkorox · 24/11/2014 20:37

Haha Allstoppedup thanks for the tip, I got told to try pineapple yesterday! Wanted to take the dog for a nice walk today but my bloody car wouldnt start so we had to make do with wondering the roads round home. My partner wont fix my car till babys here cause hes too worried about me driving and having a bump in the car! Meany! Luckly my dads working from home and my partner is only at work up the road but still!

OP posts:
Foggymist · 24/11/2014 20:55

You need to eat about 9 pineapples and all it does is give you diarrhea which induces cramps in your uterus, nobody can really eat enough to actually do that :)

Arkkorox · 24/11/2014 21:05

9!! I like pineapple but not that much lol

How on earth am I going to get through a funeral 2 days overdue. Im not exactly at my emotional best.... Argh :(

OP posts:
Allstoppedup · 24/11/2014 21:06

Ahh dammit foggy I stopped 4 short!

Oh well, I can't enjoy pineapple at all now regardless they no longer taste of sweetness, just of bitter disappointment!Grin

KathBoa · 25/11/2014 17:57

I ate to pineapples and a mango 12 hours later I was giving birth to my DD 4 weeks early. I didn't even know pineapple could do that to you. Blush Won't be doing this time round.

Arkkorox · 25/11/2014 18:30

Oops Kath!!!

Arkkorox · 26/11/2014 20:44

Thanks Ladies

The service was lovely, I managed to keep a handle on my crying untill I noticed my partner had tears in his eyes!

Having an evening with the girls tonight.... exept theyve been googling things to bring on labour and have all now piled into a car to the shops to get me a pineapple.... I havent got the heart to tell them it takes more than one lol!

OP posts:
Allstoppedup · 26/11/2014 21:23

Grin Ark, that made me laugh. Take a bite and then go 'ooooh' whilst holding your stomach and nodding, give em something!

Glad the service went well.
