I was just recently diagnosed with a mild case of PCOS. I do not have any of the physical symptoms of PCOS however my menstrual cycles have always been irregular ever since I can remember. I take Progesterone for 10 days the first of the month to have a regular period. After my last cycle I bought a ovulation kit and I tested for 20 days and I never received a positive result. I met with my OBGYN about 4 weeks ago and she diagnosed me with PCOS. I am sad to hear that I have a mild case of PCOS however it is also a relief to know that I still have a very good chance of conceiving since that was my biggest fear. My Dr. gave me a prescription for 50 mg of Clomid and I will start taking it today. My husband and I are excited but we are both scared as well of having multiples, but 2 babies is better than no babies! I have read a lot of info when it comes to Clomid and reading other womens points of view has been extremely helpful. Im looking for any info when it comes to PCOS & Clomid including have you had success with this drug and what kind of symptoms have you had? I will follow up next week with my experience when it comes to Clomid- wish me luck!!

Hi everybody...so good to read so many success stories on here.
Ive been trying to concieve now for over a year. Ive had numerous tests and thankfully all seems fine, apart from me not ovulating regularly.
The doctor has talked about Clomid, but advises to loose a little weight first....
Has anybody else had the same situation? The doctors have said I can have the treatment privately but I want the best results...so if anyone can give any advice it would be appreciated.

Hi Everybody

This site have given me such hope, I have been reading, but thought it time to join in now! Had a MC four years ago and I have been trying ever since..Tried IVF for four cycles...and now have just started taking Clomid just finished my second cycle and on day 27 of my cycle...so keeping everything crossed..but I have started to feel those cramps...so don't think I am pregnant again!
I have been prescibed 5 months of this after unexplained infertility for both me and my husband and he has checked out ok...it appears to be a bit of a guessing game for all these specialists.
Really hope it works this time...Does anyone know if I should take a break in the middle of this 5 month cycle?

Thanks for all your positive thoughts and help.

Hi,
I am currently 7 and a bit weeks pregnant with my first baby.
I had a problem with ovulation so was prescribed 100mg a day of clomid for 6 months but only needed 2 months on the tablets before i got pregnant.
I used to read all these type of threads when i started on it thinking it would never work for me,but it did..so keep positive and i'm confident it will work x

Vics32 · 28/09/2008 21:43

Hi all,

Just about to start taking clomid for first time. Does anyone know if ovulation can be stopped by removal of an ovarian cyst? I am also worried about the risk of ectopic pregnancy, as I've already been down that road and don't wanna do it again! Thanks for reading!!

Daisy134 · 13/10/2008 17:41

Hi
Please can anyone help? I take clomid and regularly get pregnancy-like symptoms towards the end of the month (day 26 onwards) - nausea, headaches, bloated, going to the loo a lot etc. Then my period comes round about day 33... Does anyone else experience these symptoms but only late in the month with clomid?
Thanks so much!

oopsacoconut · 13/10/2008 18:39

Hi

Just thought I would say my clomid success story is currently sleeping on my lap - she was born 6 weeks ago on our last 100mg cycle of clomid before our IVF appointment. I had 1 month of 50mg and that didn't work and then 5 months of 100mg. Some months I had mad preg symptoms before AF then other months - like the one we concieved- nothing. The only thing we did differnetly the month we concieved was taking a month off from the pills and starting the month fresh from a month of not symptom spotting, trying, guessing etc..

Hope this gives you all some hope.

Hi Everyone

Just thought i would post another message on here as nerves are getting the better of me. Wallacex where are you? Lol
For those of you who didn?t know I finished my fifth round of Clomid 50mg roughly 2 weeks ago. To be honest I felt may be Clomid would have worked for me as my monthly cycle was fine and I had unexplained infertility plus I was ovulating above average every month. But I couldn?t have been more wrong as even though my consultant was happy to keep me on it, it just hasn?t worked for me. I have one last round left for October 26th which I will take but I haven?t got my hopes up!!!

On Tuesday I got a letter from the hospital saying I had reached the top of the waiting list for IVF. I was so excited as I had not been waiting long, well 9 months to be exact and 5 months of that were taken over by Clomid so I didn?t have much time to think about IVF. It was more about waiting to see if Clomid would work. I have an appointment with my consultant on 30th October and then 12th November, both discussing the start of IVF and the next step.

Im not entirely sure how I feel though, in a way im really scared and nervous aswell as happy and excited. I have 3 IVF attempts for my area but the whole procedure will be very emotionally draining. I have rad a lot about IVF and rather than siding with just success stories I have read failure stories too as I want to be prepared for both. I hate injections so im really not looking forward to that bit but I guess if this is what we want we have to go through trials for it.

I just made it in for IVF as I was 2lb under the required weight but if anyone has diet tips that could HEEELLLLLPPPPPP over the next week and half please do let me know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol

Good luck to all of you on this site, I really do wish you all the best and hope all your wishes and dreams come true. I know it?s a hard time for us all but as long as we all stay strong and positive and have faith im sure we will see light at the end of this tunnel!!!! GOOD LUCK!

xxxxx babydust to you all!

Sarie83 · 20/10/2008 13:15

Hiya, Its great to here everyone success stories.

I stopped taking Microgynon 30 in November 2007 after 7 years, I a had my first period in March 2008, but nothing since. The doctors have completed all the relevant tests and a scan. My hormone levels are fine, but the scan revealled border line PCOS. The doctor has explained that I have post pill amenorrhea. Would clomid help to gain regular periods again??

valz · 10/11/2008 10:55

Hi all some of these stories are so encouraging. i stopped taking microgynon 30 in november 07 having been on it 5-6years, i havent had a period since. had blood tests taken last week and was prescribed 50mg clomid for 5 days, i was going to take my first dose today as my consultant said i could take it straight away, although i havent got results of the blood test yet so im not sure if its a good idea. did anyone go ahead and take clomid without getting results back. id really love to just go ahead and take it as im too eager not too. fingers crossed it works for me, i'll keep you posted.

ray81 · 12/11/2008 08:58

Hi Adaz,

was put on clomid as after 5 years of trying we had only had 2mc. They thought that if they gave me clomid it would produce more eggs and we would have more of a chance of falling. They were right which is great. Kinda wish i had taken it earlier though as could have has a baby by now if a had. However realy dont care now as long as i keep this one all will be fine.

Emsielou, Good luck to you clomid is truely a wonderful drug and all i can say is keep your chin up. I know its realy hard bit i promise it will happen one day. It took me 5 years and i was losing hope all together but it has happened. I know its easy for me to say now its worked but honestly it will happen for you.
