Clomid works, but give it a chance.
I was diagnosed with PCOS at 18 due to periods only coming twice a year, then was on pill until 2.5 years ago. Came off pill, no periods (surprise)and after 6 months went on Metformin which did nothing. Then had 6 months of Clomid which also did nothing. Then had ovarian drilling etc which did (surprise) nothing, then another 3 months back on Clomid and conceived on the very last try. Went for 12 week scan on day I was supposed to begin IVF. Moral of the (success) story: it doesn't work for everyone straight away so don't worry.

Hi there everyone.

I can't tell u how good it is to read these success stories, thank you all so much. Im 27 & have been ttc for 2 years now, i must say i never thought it would upset me as much as it has. I have been diagnosed with quite severe endometriosis & am due 2 start a course of Clomid in June (have been placed back on hormonal pill until then to ease pain & try 2 give my ovaries a break so the Clomid gets the best chance of working). I have noticed many on here suffer with pcos, does anyone know of someone with my condition who has concieved after using Clomid? Good luck 2 everyone trying.xxx

Hi there,
I have just started on my 1st cycle of Clomid in late Feb this yr and now in the 2WW. I took clomid late, started on the 7th day of my cycle which I've read wont be as effective as on the 2nd or 5th day. Anyways another big blunder is that I took double dose (100mg)on the 1st day of pill to make up for the lateness lol. But rest of the days took only 50mg.
So am not hoping much this month ..
but will update on my progress n hopefully will get a BFP soon!
P.S. I dont have PCOS or any other major problems except that my period is sometimes 31days and sometimes 35 days(every alternate months)

hi
ive just started clomid, have pcos and am not ovualating.i got preggers b4 but misscarried at 9 wks,but managed to get preggers without and medication,im 28 and had misscarrage at 18, havnt been able to concieve since, so after seen the doc's for yrs finally 2yrs ago i had a laparocy and my two tubes were blocked, i cryed for a week, though im never going to get preggers now, had op to open them, doc told me that i had healthy looking tubes and ovaries thou,op was sucessful thankgod,6 months ago went back in to the hospital to see if my tubes were stil open and when they put the dye up i got a really bad pain, the xray showed up that one tube was open and the other one he put a question mark on it, he think maybe it went into spasm? the doc thinks when i misscarried my tubes formed scar tissue which then lead to blockage,im am praying i get preggers with the clomid, its just so hard to stay positive when you've had nothing but bad luck,

Hi everyone,
im new to this site and would love any feedback from anyone who has been or whos in a similar situation. Im 38 yrs old and have taken 6 mths of clomid, 3 x 50mgs and 3 x 100mgs, to no avail. My doc says im ovulating now due to the tabs but have to stay a month free off clomid until i have my scan check on my ovaries to see if alls ok. Will i get more tablets? Im wondering if i'l ever fall pregnant as i had endometriosis removed 2 yrs ago.

thanks
xxxxxx

JennMiranda · 15/05/2008 08:52

hi babyandrea... i hv no idea on that... but im sure someone from my chatmate in www.pregnancy-info.net/QA/answer-clomid would know some infor about that... i too just joined and they posted a lot about this topic (clomid)... c you there

Didylicious · 16/05/2008 11:57

Hi, I had unexplained infertility after having 3 kids.
They never tried to find out the problem - but due to my age (36) I was referred to a fertility clinic who just started me on chlomid. The first month I took 50mg - when they scanned my ovaries to see if it was working there had been no reponse.
The 2nd month - I took a 100mg dose - and when they scanned my ovaries I was producing two eggs.
Happily that very month (having followed the clinics advice to "get as much sperm up there as possible" in the next few days - I found myself pregnant (test showed positive just 9 days later)!!!
I am now 37 weeks pregnant with my first ever boy (other kids all girls)...I's so excited. It's not been the easiest of pregnancies with "unexplained" spotting throughout - but it's been successful which is the important thing.
Oh, and despite there having been 2 eggs - there is only the one baby - which is great - not sure how we'd have managed with twins!!! [hmmm]

Qally · 17/05/2008 03:14

Dear friend of mine tried for 5 years, was prescribed Clomid, is now the proud mother of a 1 year old son. She only took 2 months on Clomid to conceive - it was unexplained fertility in her case, too. She was so low just before she conceived, I think the "unexplained" part made her feel worse. Now she's loving being a Mum and planning #2!

Angel008 · 17/05/2008 21:20

Hi all, it was great reading all the stories above, good luck to those of you who are still trying and congratulations to those of you who have concieved. Me and my partner have been trying for almost a year now with no luck. We have had all the necessary tests (lap and dye) etc which all came back with perfectly normal results. I have now been put on clomid 50mg for 3 months and start my course in about ten days. We hope all goes well and will keep you updated on any progress....x

ClaireL32 · 12/06/2008 15:10

Hi all, very new to this and very pleased to find this site! I think I've found out more reading this than through trawling the net......
Came off the pill last August and finally plucked up the courage to go to the doctor 2 weeks ago - had the blood tests and found out I'm not ovulating at all, hence the Clomid, which I start next week.

Very nervous but very excited.

Will be keeping close to this site from now on, its really good to have another avenue to find out information and hear good stories!

Sahar · 15/06/2008 16:44

Hi all, im currently taking metformin 1700mg and ive been on two cycles of clomid with no luck. Can someone tell me from their own experiences how many months its taken them on clomid before they've conceived?? We've been trying for 2.5 years miscarried 1.5 yrs ago....since then no luck!!
