I know i am in the wrong thread but didn't get a response on ttc thread. As hopefully you are all here.

Hi Emsielou

I had no side affects from clomid, not a thing which was great. i started mine on 10th november for 5 days, 50mg. I had been keeping a temperature chart so i couldn't wait to see if it made a difference round about the 19th(thats when the doc said i should ovulate)but i took a really bad cold on the 17th and my temps were ridiculously high for about 3 days so i coudlnt go by that at all, i did 2 ovulation tests 1 on the 19th the other on 21st but both were negative, so im assuming i didnt ovulate. but thats only the first round so im still optimistic i have to take another 5 days of 50mg next month and if that fails i have to up the dose to 100mg the following month.

I dont know if im naive or if most ladies are like me, but i never realised it would take so much planning to become pregnant. I just assumed once i come off the pill it would happen. oh things we take for granted eh

hi emsielou, i first saw the gynae specialist on 3rd novemeber, my next app is mid january, he never mentioned scans or anything to me, although i have read that while on clomid ur meant to have scans done. he took blood samples and i phoned the other day for the results, they told me my thyroid came back clear and the hormone results were signed off by the specialist so "he must be happy enough" and they said he would discuss my results at my follow up appointment in january. so im not sure if i have polycystic ovaires or whats wrong, i have had absolutely no bleed at all from i came off the pill last novemeber...its weird.

I know what you mean that people dont understand, a few of my friends and family memebers have recently had babies and all i hear is oh ur next, u'd needa get ur skates on, i feel like screamin at them mind ur own friggin business, its so frustrating. i feel like because they have children they should realise its not that handy to fall pregnant but then again maybe for some people it is. i see u'll be at ur appointment about now, hope all goes well and i shall chat to ya again

Hi everyone, came across this site by accident whilst trying to find side affects of clomid. I have been reading your stories for the past 1hr and im more confused than ever!

I have been ttc for about 2.5 yrs after coming off the pill. I have had scans, bloods etc and it has shown that i dont ovulate. saw the gyny for the 1st time 7.11.08 he put me on 50mg clomid, had my 21 day blood result:69 which i was ova the moon with as it had been (before clomid) 0.5! I had a period 5 days after but i am not due to see my gyny til 19.12.08. Is this normal or should i be seeing him sooner so i can take more clomid? And how do they decided how many mths wee should be taking clomid for? Sorry for the questions and the fact that i babble on it just nice to talk to people who actually know how you're feeling!

Best wishes x

hi wishin, im in the same boat, my bloods were taken at my first app on 30th oct, my next app isnt until mid january. my specialist told me to goahead and take clomid straight away, if the first course fails he told me to goahead with the 2nd course of 50mg, im not been monitored at all. had bad cramps last week which was about day 19-25, not sure when to start my next course. it seems everyones specialist does didderent things...its confusing.

Hi Valz thatnks for the reply. Yeah this is so confusin! lol.I got back to see my consultant on the 19.12.08 so if i can calm myself down i'll ask as many questions as poss.

Just wondering tho ive been readin about peoples mood swings (side affect) but does any1 else feel really tearful (or is it just me?) Since taking these tablets i could cry at the most ridiculous things!

To be honest im finding this whole process so stressful, I kinda of accepted the fact that i would be unable to have children and this has given me a glimmer of hope (which is good) but i just feel that im setting myself up for a fall! (sorry im being negative!) Hope every1 is well. Best wishes x

hi all

just to update, im now 8 weeks pregnant from my first cycle of clomid, going for early scans at the mo due to bleeding and cramps i had before xmas, next scan is 20th jan so i'll report back about it. cant believe i got over the first hurdle of getting pregnant, now i absolutely crapping myself in case it results in a mis, really had no idea the first 12 weeks was so iffy. anyways its positive news for me so far and proves the clomid works so keep trying.

emsielou glad to hear you ovulated, hoping you get to the next stage soon.

Welcome claire, are you on clomid for the first time or have you had a few cycles?

Me again, soz to be a pest, just spoke to GP again he has told me to start the clomid as soon as the norethisterone finishes which is today then start the clomid tomorrow, has anyone else been advised of this?? Thanks xxx

hi stac I havent had a period since i came off the pill over a year ago, when i was prescribed clomid the doc told me i could start it immediately, he didnt give me anything to bring on a bleed. i would go by ur gp's advice and start it tomorrow.

claire i really only started trying when i was prescribed the clomid because i knew that as i had no period knew i was not ovulating. my first cycle of 50mg clomid began 10nov and ended on 14th nov. i had used some ovulation predictor kits around the days the doc said i would ovulate but they were neg so i assumed i hadnt ovulated so i was shocked to find i was actually pregnant.
