hello everyone, I have never gotten pregnant since I had my daughter 12 years ago, for 12 years no birth control but never able to conceive.
I was diagnosed in october 2007 with sub fertility, partner sperm came back normal. March 2007 I had a lap & dye test which came back slight endometriosis plus my left ovary was adherent to my left fallopian tube, the dye didn't spill through my tubes at first but with force it did, started first round of clomid 50mg on my next menstrual cycle and yay I'm now 9 weeks pregnant!! To help me conceive I used clear blue fertility monitor and pre-seed lubricant. Never give up ..Goodluck

I was on clomid for 3 months x 50mg, but conceived on the forth month (when I was not taking clomid) then unfortunately had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. The consultant has advised me that because I conceived on the month that I was not taking clomid that I can conceived naturally, so I have to try again naturally for a couple of months, with the usualy blood tests on day 21. Has anyone else had any experience of this ? I am very anxious to conceive again quite quickly as I have been trying for 2 1/2 years.

beaufies · 03/07/2008 13:12

I tried one cycle of clomid recommended by my private fertility consultant but it didn't work for me as whilst I produced 3 eggs the endometrium didn't grow so implantation would not have been possible. Apparently this is a common problem with clomid.

We then changed to a different clinic who don't use clomid at all for this reason, and use tamoxifen instead as it has the same effect for ovulation but also stimulates the endometrium so that it is more receptive to implantaion than normal.

We conceived on our third cycle and I am now 23 weeks

Hi everyone, this is my first time on here..not used to all the lingo so i apologise if i go on..
Me and my husband have been trying for a baby for about 14 months now, after all the tests come back ok(have no blockages, damage ect)my gyn thinks that the problem lies with me not ovulating..been having v irregular periods 90 day cycles and day 21 progesterone came back a 1.1!so really hoping the clomid he's given me will work. Have had to have provera to give me a period so can get started..take the last pill tommorrow so hope period will arrive soon, have been spotting a little so been bit confused as to whether i should stop provera and start clomid but am sitting it out, hoping a 'proper'period will come in next few days..
Its been a real help reading all your stories..thankyou

bigtree · 12/07/2008 12:08

Well the provera worked a treat..had my period day after the last pill and i take my last 50mg of clomid today for this cycle....am keeping fingers crossed, trying not get to excited but feel really positive, which has got to be a good thing..right?

Lovage · 12/07/2008 19:40

Me, three times. Took about 12 months worth the first time (miscarried that baby, but nothing to do with the Clomid), another 3 or 4 months + IUI the second time and another 6 months worth the 3rd time. Far more than you're supposed to take, but when the alternatives are much more invasive treatments like IUI or IVF, I reckon the possible risks of too much Clomid look much better.

DestinyLeigh2002 · 14/07/2008 10:59

i am on my first cycle of clomid, also unexplained infertility. This site has given me hope that it is possible to fall pregnant this cycle, 1 week lft before i can start testing. I was on 50mg, days 5-9. usually a 30 day cycle, but ovulated on day 13-14 so guessing its regulated my cycle back to lovely 28 day. I conceived naturally in 2002, and without even trying, but miscarried at 30 weeks. Was so traumatic. Its been almost 6 years, im ready to try again. baby dust to everyone

ClaireL32 · 21/07/2008 08:49

On 2nd month of Clomid, levels went from 4 in June to 41 in July so moving in the right direction but doctor wants a higher reading to make sure ovulation is definitely happening. Off on holiday and don't intend to spend much time outside of the bedroom! Stay positive, I was convinced that Clomid hadn't worked for me in the first month.......

danismum · 21/07/2008 15:49

HI everyone, i'd just like to say that after trying for a full year to conceive went to consultant who following 21day progesterone test discovered i was not ovulating,
he prescribed clomid for three months had 21 day progesterone tests during this time which showed ovulation kick started and conceived on fourth month DD 15mths and am 21 weeks pregnant all by myself with help of hubby of course!

joesie · 23/07/2008 01:12

I forgot to add that i found the digital ovulating sticks extremely helpful on both occasions!!

losthope · 30/07/2008 10:38

OMG YAY!!!! I was trying to concieve for three years i was put on my first round of clomid 50mg on days 5-9 of my period.. AND IM PREGNANT!!!
Ive been on here talking talking to women with the same issues and i thought that i finally lost hope..my neighbour thats a nurse made me take the test because she was convinced!!!
ALL i have to say is good luck to everyone out there because its when you least expect it, it will happen. the more you stress and worry about it..the harder its going to get for you!
BABY DUST TO ALL!!!

Angel008 · 30/07/2008 18:57

babyhopes · 06/08/2008 15:04

Hi Girls, I'm new to all this so I hope you don't mind me joining the thread! My partner and I have been trying to concieve for 2 years. I have one Polycystic ovary and one multicystic ovary. I began taking clomid the last week in July and I am currently on CD13, had a scan on CD11 and had an 11mm follicle. I hope this means I will ovulate this month. I'm going for another scan tomorrow...I hope everything is going to plan? It's great to see all these success stories. Congrats to you all...Does anyone have any advice they could offer me?

Angel008 · 07/08/2008 12:05

hiya baby hopes, Just so you know this thread isnt really used as much as the other one. Google 'clomid success stories' and its the thread that natty started that wee all on, which is the 2nd one that will show up on google search. You will see posting there every week, rather than this one which i dont think is used much anymore apart from the odd message. Were all on there daily so you will have plenty of us to talk to.

I am now on my 3rd round of clomid and on day 12. I have unexplained inertility and hae been put on 6 ronds of 50mg. Its good to see that you had a 11mm follicle after taking it the first time, some dont get that at all So think positive and the more this clomid kicks in the more it will startworking and showing i guess. Good luck to you. See you on our other thread. TC.

Kerri1983 · 08/08/2008 15:09

Just found this thread and thought I would let you know my story.

I was diagnosed with PCOS and prescribed 50mg Clomid to help me TTC. 50mg was ineffective so was then prescribed 100mg which I took for a further 5 months.

After an emotional visit to the consultant it was agreed that I would be referred for IVF.

I know it is a very negative thing to do but emotionally I gave up and to my suprise found out I was pregnant!!!

Keep going ladies it does work!!!

BinkyB · 08/08/2008 15:15

Prescribed 50mg as had irregular cycles due to PCOS. Utterly convinced the first cycle hadn't even made me ovulate... but it had and last week I got a positive result on a pregnancy test.

My friend also got lucky on her first attempt with Clomid.

Good luck.

Angel008 · 10/08/2008 00:47

Congrats to you both!

aimeecbrown · 10/08/2008 20:25

I was given clomid as I had a 21 day cycle and was not ovulating, have also suffered with endometriosis for years. We managed to conceive on our 6th month, but sadly had a miscarriage at 6 wks. However, went back on clomid and was pregnant again 2 months later. Am now 22 wks and all seems well. I possibly wouldn't build up hopes of it working first time but perservere and hopefully it will happen, we went from trying for over 2 years with no results to getting pregnant twice in 3 months with the help of Clomid Fingers crossed and good luck.

mydream · 04/09/2008 14:19

boldlemming · 05/09/2008 19:16

Hi all,
Am new to this, been trying for a year and am on my second round of clomid. Had the hot flushes and headaches first time round but have not been asked to be monitored, should I be? Finding it hard to deal with the disappointment and am too impatient, am 37 next birthday so the positive stories from older mumsare helping. Good luck to everyone!

Blondie86 · 20/09/2008 17:57

Hello Everyone. It is so lovely to hear all the success stories.
Me and my husband have been trying for a baby for a year and a half now and it has been the most stressful and heartbreaking time of our lives as having a family means that world to us both. What makes things harder is that everyone around us seems to be pregnant (my brothers wife is due in a few weeks with their second child)
I dont ovulate and i have a mild case of PCOS and my husband also has slightly low motility, so we are devasted to know that we both have problems. Feels like it is never going to happen and it's breaking my heart.
I have started my first month of clomid and am worried it hasn't worked because i don't appear to have the normal signs of ovulation, but will have to wait until next week when i've had my blood tests to find out.
I so hope the clomid works for us.
I could really do with some reassurance that there is light at the very long dark tunnel that i appear to be in at the moment.
Want to wish everyone who is trying the best of luck
