Hi

Not sure if this has been done before but am due to start clomid next month and could do with some happy stories. Please let me know why you were prescribed it and how long it took to get pregnant.

I know i am in the wrong thread but didn't get a response on ttc thread. As hopefully you are all here.

Many thanks

What is an echovist scan? My appointment isn't until 31st July. It sucks to wait all the time. x

Report
stac14 · 15/06/2009 18:05

They scan your stomach and blow air into your cervix to see if there are any blocks in your tubes, yeah hun the waiting really sucks, DP is going to come with me cos its supposed to be quite uncomfortable xxx

Clwc · 16/06/2009 00:08

Sounds mad. How does the air get back out again? Will you be burping for the next week? lol.

I suppose I'll know my next step by the time you get that scan. At least that's something. All I ever seem to do is wait. xx

I read online that its actually a liquid stuff they insert, but as you know what goes up must come down. We have decided that if af comes naturally then I will take the clomid but not going to induce it with provera. I know what you mean about waiting, as I said to DP it will be another 2 months before we get a new treatment depending what it is so was pretty upset yesterday. Have to put it to the back of my mind though as have my exam tomrrow and feel sick with nerves, need to keep cramming. Hows you? What you up to this week? xx

How are the rest of you girls? xxx

I'm shattered now. I had to have a lie down! Lol. It must be my age (coupled with working out in the sun).

DP and I went to IKEA last night. That made a nice change

I've got more gardening to do this week, but other than that I have no plans.

I vowed to myself, after my degree, that I'd never do another written exam in my life. I haven't done one since (except driving theory for my motorbike). God knows if I'll ever have to do another. I don't do very well with exams. I don't revise properly, then cram the night and morning before. Not the best way to go about it! All I can say is, 'Don't forget to turn the page over!' That's experience talking. xxx

The way this one works is you are given 3 parts each with 3 question which you have to pick one from each part to answer, essay form so nightmare if theres no questions I know anything about lol need to hope it goes ok. Whats your degree in? xxx

Clwc · 17/06/2009 00:00

International Business Studies. Probably about the most useless degree I could have chosen. I could run a multi-million pound, multi-national company single-handed, but as for starting up on my own. Well, 'clueless' is the word, I think. Thankfully, I've just about got the hang of it now.

Our exams were in that format too. What are you studying? x

I just thought. We'll need a new thread very soon. What should we call it? I think this one has gone a bit off topic from the title.

Something like "Clomid Attempts and Successes 2"?

Anyone have any ideas before we reach 1000 posts?

stac14 · 17/06/2009 15:36

Thats sounds good clwc will you set it up as I am crap at that sort of thing lol. Exam went ok I think so just the wait to see if I have passed but wont find out till August, what is it with that month lol I am studying for my degree in health and Social Care with open uni.
Does anyone with pcos get pains in the ovary region through the month? I have been getting them for a couple of days just wondering if its part of my symptoms

Claire If your out there how are you hun? Hope you see this and let us know how you are xxx

Report
Clwc · 17/06/2009 15:49

Hello TTC30,

Welcome.

There are some success stories dotted throughout this thread. It does work for a lot of women. The thread sort of went off tack a bit though, and was coming to its limit. Please join us on the new thread. Everyone is nice there.

I'm 30 too. I'm TTC for the first time, and it's taking a while. I hope the Clomid works for you.

Hi,

I had PCOS and was prescibed Clomid after a year of finding out what was wrong, losing 3 stone in weight, 6 months taking metformin (which I'm still on for a few more weeks) and the Clomid worked first time for me. Am 10 weeks today, still finding it all a bit surreal and can't believe that it worked first time, but it has.

Didn't have any sign effects from the Clomid, it was the Metformin that I struggled with.

Good luck and it does work!

Hello Ladies! I just wanted to check in and see how you all are doing. Remember don't give up hope! Because when you least expect it... it will happen! I will keep all you ladies in my prayers. I am 15 weeks along now... doing very well. In 3 weeks I will be able to find out the baby's sex! I am very excited! My husband thinks it's going to be a girl, I honestly have no idea! I can't even guess! I will update as soon as I know! I truly wish all of you the very best. I know that in time everyone on here will be blessed. What will be the new thread?

Hi girls

Just wanted to share my excitement we have been ttc for 2 years. I have PCO's but without any PCO side effects apart from cysts on the ovaries. I took clomid days 1-5 and also used the clearblue digital ovulation test and am pregnant first time. x

Hi, im new to this site. Im 23 years old and was diagnosed with PCOS Last year. DH and i have been TTC for 2 years with no success. My gyn/ob put me on metformin last year and on the 3rd of this month ( Oct 2009), he put me on clomid. On the 14th he gave me a shot to force my ovaries to release the eggs, ovidrel. ( i had 2 mature ones) yesterday (26 Oct)i took a preg test n it was negative. im so disappointed , i feel like giving up coz it seems like ill never be able to fall preg. i feel so down at the moment. just waiting for my AF to start on the next round of clomid ( currently on 100mg & metformin 1000mg) we will go for IUI on our next cicle

Thanks to everyone for putting on success stories, I have been with my partner 10 years and we recently started trying for a family.. I found out I had PCOS and I have just been given clomid to assist me to ovulate. Many of my friends and family have children therefore I find it very difficult to speak to them about it and it's a very sensitive & emotional subject for me.

I will keep you posted on my progress and fingers crossed, I can post my own sucess story on here.

Thanks to all who posted encouraging messages and good luck to you.
