Welcome warzone - nice to 'meet' you.

As someone who has often bemoaned living in 'moody' Hackney I would like to take a second to admire you and count my blessings :)

TheRealMrsSmith · 25/02/2012 15:59

Hi all

Haven't posted on here for a while, but will hopefully post more often.

I'm now 14+3 now. Had my 12 week scan which put me ahead by just one day. I was also told that i had conceived twins but one stopped developing at 8 weeks Sad. On the positive side the other baby is doing well and is a real wriggler! I've been have movements for the past few days which make me smile Grin.

I have a consultants appointment next week to check out the heart murmur the doctor thought she heard, but the midwife has said it shouldn't be a problem.

Thankfully the nausea and exhaustion has died down and i'm starting to feel much better, even though i'm very spotty at the moment. I'm really enjoying my food now and loving all the information you ladies have found - especially about the sushi. Haven't had or wanted any wine for the past few months, but every now and then i get a craving for larger which is something I rarely drink.

Hoping you are all having a lovely sunny weekend wherever you are x

geekette · 25/02/2012 16:15

marks spot as she almost fell off the bandwagon.14+5.

Tusa · 25/02/2012 16:19

Got back from the baby show, not as awful as I dreaded. Took a look at prams and things and bought some maternity jeans, a moby wrap and a Medela swing breast pump - it feels weird but not as horrid as I'd feared!

Angel786 · 25/02/2012 16:49

Ohh I have the medela swing Tusa started off with tommee tip pee but milk kept going up the air tube Hmm

Welcome newbies and good news on all the scans, although the real hope you're doing ok as must've been a lot to take in?

Anyone-else shattered/ exhausted permanently? So much for the golden trimester, don't remember being this tired when pg with dd!

hamncheese · 25/02/2012 17:01

HOLD UP!!! Sushi is ok? is Yo! Sushi ok? Please tell me yes and I'm going there tomorrow... been craving the raw salmon so much lately!

Also went to the pram centre in glasgow today. Freaked out in the middle of it because I couldn't work out what the hell the difference between them all were and how they changed shape and what the hell isofix is and why it needs a base and may have started to panic a bit. Luckily DH got some help and we managed to find one that doesn't cost the earth (and most of them did) that seems okay. Taking the car down next weekend to test it in there and then will purchase probably. I know some people are relishing it but I just cant wait for it to be over. Getting the cot and clothes and other stuff I'm loving, just find the pram stuff to be like some secret society I'm not involved in :( Apparently the one we are getting is over £100 cheaper than it should be because people didn't like the colour. It's grey and cream. And people are paying £100 more for one that's black and cream. No offence but it could be puke coloured and I'd still take the one £100 less.

0FrillyKnickers0 · 25/02/2012 18:03

Ok, so I posted this on the FB page, but...
...DH has decided he wants to leave the sex of the baby as a surprise! How on earth I will manage, I don't know!!

What are you all doing re the sex (of the baby not actual sex!)?

OP posts:
WelshLadyCDF · 25/02/2012 18:09

frilly we're finding out at 20 weeks, DP didn't want to but has given in,
As for the other 'sex' that seems to have fallen by the wayside but I am sure his patience won't last, I just don't feel that sexy right now (sorry if tmi)

0FrillyKnickers0 · 25/02/2012 18:19

Thank God it's not just me Welsh! TBH, I feel guilty! I am asleep so early and feel I'll during the day!! Urgh. I want to be able to though!

OP posts:
Tusa · 25/02/2012 18:31

That's good to hear Angel786 I'd heard a few people say it was worth going straight for the medela.

We're not finding out the sex 0FrillyKnickers0 I think I can wait for the surprise, and hopefully it will mean slightly less pink/blue saturation! How do I get on the facebook group?

Lovemarmite · 25/02/2012 18:36

Hi to everyone new - it's great to hear from you!

And hello warzonemummy, were you on here a few months ago? I remember your name and our chats, great to hear your 17 weeks and doing fine!

We went to Bluewater John Lewis today and looked at cotbeds etc - decisions! and then tried out a nursing chair, wow, I can see why you would buy one as we both fell almost asleep in it after 30 seconds.

Ooo all this talk of runny eggs, they're my favourites at the weekend and may have to cave in ...
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend x

0FrillyKnickers0 · 25/02/2012 18:37

Tusa, message me your name and what your profile pic is and I'll add you Smile

Hi all I've been lurking a bit but can I join :) my due date is 4th august will be my 3rd dc and will be having baby at worcestershire royal hospital. Well after a rough start some bleeding several scans all seems ok now :) We booked a gender scan at 16wks just for some reassurance after a bit of a bleed at 14wks and we were told dc3 is a boy. I can't seem to get my head around it as we have 2dd it still hasn't sunk. Well I'm going 2 go and read the rest of the thread hope your all doing well and congrats x

warzonemummy · 25/02/2012 19:25

Mrslister I used to live in Hackney and this war zone feels much safer (mind you I got attacked in Hackney once, maybe that is why.

yes lovemarmite i was here a while back too. Thought I get back and join in the conversations.

danielou you and I share the same DD. You must be 17 weeks todays too.

danielou · 25/02/2012 19:34

Hi warzonemummy yes I am 17wks 2day :)

You should be able to see the baby gender at 17weeks I went and had 1 done last sat (16wks) and they said 99% boy :) but will not believe it till my 20wk scan. My dp was like yes its a boy as I saw the bits and they even printed a pic out of his private parts Grin but to me looks like a smiley face Confused

PictureThis · 25/02/2012 20:38

We'll be finding out the sex at the 20 week scan, i'm too impatient to wait! My poor Dh is exercising a lot of patience at the moment because our bed is for sleeping only and quite honestly I'd rather have a cup of tea and a good book! Glad to read I'm not the only one feeling like this.

MrsLister · 25/02/2012 21:08

frilly I have to say I'm a big believer in this being led by mum - you're carrying the little tyke around for 9 months ergo you get to choose whether you find the sex out or not!

Well - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it ;)

I'm going out dancing with my husband tonight. I don't know what's gotten into me but when he said he was going out I really fancied joining him and going for a boogie. I may live to regret it but the (flat) dancing shoes have been dusted off and I'm sat here with my lippy on!

Wish me luck... ;)

Angel786 · 26/02/2012 00:49

Hope you had a fab night mrslister

Welcome danilou

Re sex of baby not sure yet?! With 1st pg was dying to know ( as really wanted a girl!) but dh didn't want to know... I found out then he wanted to know! I asked the monographer to write it down so I. Ould look without telling dh. This time happy to wait but dh would like to know... I suspect we'll find out at 20 week scan but not tell anyone Wink

The other sex ahem... Would love to be having more but am shattered 150 percent of the time... Altho would like to get more now as last pg it became q tricky after six months...

ham I think some sushi is actually ok depends on if freshly prepared / frozen and timings etc. I fpund q a lot of guidance, will send a link...

Angel786 · 26/02/2012 00:52

Hi again re sushi if from shop / restaurant and prepared from frozen should be ok Grin www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/is-it-safe-to-eat-sushi-during-pregnancy.aspx?CategoryID=54&SubCategoryID=216

Or try here

Vinolover · 26/02/2012 06:45

Congratulations on your son danielou. Boys are fab! All you need to remember is they can pee upwards and catch you unawares! Wink.

As for sex, the proper kind, there is none of that going on! Probably sounds ridiculous but I'm so scared of having any kind of bleeding again that I'm refusing point blank! My poor DH is desperate but he does understand. I have also never felt more unhorny! Maybe it will come back in a couple of weeks :)

hamncheese · 26/02/2012 08:47

Thanks Angel sadly get the feeling Yo will use fresh... but I am now thinking about getting some salmon myself. However, I doubt my freezer is that cold. Bah. Will have to wait til we move and get a new and reliable fridge/freezer! Vegetarian sushi will have to do at Yo for now :)

Sex type 1 - not finding out and okay about it!

Sex type 2 - not having proper sex (to be safe re: bleeding) but good days are getting more plentiful so finding time for other such ongoings Wink

16 weeks today! actually LOOK pregnant now! have ridiculous head cold thanks to my brother! Going shopping for baby stuff! Happy Sunday all.

Lottie83 · 26/02/2012 09:55

Hey,

Well hello everyone. I had my 12 wk scan on Thursday and the little monkey turns out to be older than we thought (14wks & 2 days). Means they couldn't do the test but have a beautiful piccie.

Have kept an eye on this thread but now happy to chat now I know everything is ok.

This is my partners first and we're both exciting. However currently doing up our house which we can't live in yet, so now we have a definite deadline. Hard work being there every wkend as exhausting!!

My due date is the 21st August. All still seems very unreal so can't wait to feel something!

NeedlesCuties · 26/02/2012 10:00

Ok, so I go offline for 2 days and come back and find millions of posts and a handful of new people. I have read and also added all the newbies to my wonderful list of dates. There are a few details missing, so if you want to tell me to add them then I will.

As for all this sex talk:-

With DS we didn't find out the sex at his scan, but this time I want to... might have to coax DH that he also wants to find out.

With regards the other type of sex then yeah we're as active as ever, maybe more so as I get a bit randy during pregnancy Wink

Hello new thread!
Had my 16 week MW appointment last week too. Was so nice to hear the heartbeat- was around 150- what rates indicate a girl/boy? Also desperate to know! Another 3 weeks until the 20wk scan.

My skin is also uber dry and itchy- esp my shins- random.

Last week I just popped overnight- from nothing to a fully legitimate bump. I feel huge. Have had quite a lot of aching as it stretches I guess.
Also feel like torn a muscle in my stomach- hurts when i laugh. Does anyone have that? I guess it has to expand somehow.

I cant believe there is nearly 5 months more growing to be done!!!

Hope everyone has a relaxing sunday x

Ok, I want to look pregnant now. I've lost a ton of weight but have a wobbly tummy where it will soon be baby! Grumble...13+5
