Scan today......oh God I'm nervous...I hope everything is ok. I don't remember feeling like this before DD's scan but then I suppose it was 6 years ago! I'm holding back on buying anything until I know everything is fine, wish me luck.

panpipe · 11/04/2012 09:38

Good luck Picture :)

ffscatmove · 11/04/2012 09:50

ishopthereforeiam · 11/04/2012 11:16

Hey ladies,

I'm back (I started this thread in December last year). Had a very tough few weeks and so haven't been on here. Have also had to name change due to ongoing issues all tied in.

Hope all the scans are going well - despite being 95% sure we were having a a girl, turns out we were wrong - his bits were clear as day to see on the 22 week scan. V excited to have a ds to join my dd!

Welcome to all the newbies I've missed over the last 2-3 weeks.

The3Bears · 11/04/2012 12:41

Congrats on your surprise boy ishop hope your well :)

Good luck today picture let us know how you get on :)

Im just about to venture out in the rain to take ds cinemas to watch the pirates film, hope it's good.

Hope everyone has a great day x

PictureThis · 11/04/2012 13:57

Thanks for the good luck wishes everyone, most appreciated. The scan went really well, everything looks absolutely fine, what a relief! The biggest surprise of all is that we're having a boy! Like you ishop I was almost certain we would be having another girl. Let the shopping commence Grin.

DD is getting better everyday and she's improving on her crutches so hopefully she can go back to school next week. She's been so good and totally uncomplaining throughout all this, I'm so proud of her. She came with us to the USS today and is very excited about having a brother.

PoppyS34wantsminieggs · 11/04/2012 14:18

Congrats PictureThis, another boy - yay! So glad to read that your DD is getting better, too. So many boys... Grin

ishop sorry to hear you've had a tough time, hope you're back on track now? And another boy, too. Anyone got any boy-name inspiration? I know I've asked this before, but we're rubbish at thinking of names.

ishopthereforeiam · 11/04/2012 17:44

Wow! So many lil boys! Congrats picture this

Thanks poppy all starting to calm down now so life can return to normal... I'm liking Xavier for ours

Hope the film is good 3bears

NeedlesCuties · 11/04/2012 17:58

Hi everyone,

Can't remember who exactly was asking after me (and I'm too lazy to scroll back up) but, I'm still being sick. Was sick on Monday morning and felt sick all day, then yesterday I felt sick all day but wasn't sick till 9pm Hmm Hyperemesis is a bitch.

Get my scan tomorrow and really want to find out the sex. DH is coming with me, and also we need to bring 2 year old DS as there's no one to mind him. We think it might help him understand a bit more about what will be coming in August.... Hope so anyway!

Will be talking to MW while I'm there about the Group B Strep too, hopefully she can put my mind at ease a bit more.

Another boy! Congrats picturethis how exciting, glad your dd's getting better and how nice that shes so excited for her baby brother!

Well didnt get to take ds cinemas as he's been sick and has just slept all day, Hope hes okay I hate it when he's poorly :( Going to take him at weekend if he's better as he was all excited and wore his pirate tshirt and socks (little bit obsessed with pirates atm)

Good luck with your scan tomorrow needles and I hope your mw puts your mind at rest. Do you have any feelings about sex of baby?

Lovemarmite · 11/04/2012 19:20

Great to hear all went well at the scan picturethis

Hope your scan and your MW appointment goes well tomorrow needles. Sorry to hear your sickness has not improved much.

I know this is not the same, but I was being sick last week and I found a fried egg on toast with malt vinegar really stopped it - sounds gross but it helped strangely. Can't advise it but I was feeling off this morning and had it again and felt fine afterwards - but I think it's an oddity to me rather than any cure!

OOOOOOMMMMMGGGGG!!! Saw the specialist nurse yesterday and DH saw her notes and found out what sex we're having. We're not bucking the trend here and so, here goes, a BOY! We didn't really want to find out but as he saw it, we're very glad that we know now. Wow, I was really convinced that it was a girl. Have been trying to think of names all day... Oliver and Dillon sound like good ones so far.

Saw MIL - all was fine (phew!) and thanks for your reassurances it really helped. She has knitted loads of cardigans and a shawl and they're so tiny but beautiful.

Hope all is well with everyone x

The3Bears · 11/04/2012 19:29

Grin marmite Cant believe your having a boy aswell, this is so funny with all the boys. Congrats, Oliver and Dillon sound nice :) Glad everything went well with your MIL and how nice that she'd knitted you some cardigans, bet they're adorable.

NeedlesCuties · 11/04/2012 19:51

3Bears I actually have a feeling this baby is a girl... so does DH, but we'll find out for sure tomorrow if they can see for sure.

Basically this pregnancy is sooooo different to that I had with DS and there is so much angst and mayhem that I'm sure it must be a girl! Grin

However, the last girl born into my DH's family was born 60 years ago Shock so if this is a girl then she will be spoilt rotten!

Will find out tomorrow and let you all know. Have names picked for either sex (Joel for a boy, Lydia for a girl) so we are happy with whatever is in there.

ishopthereforeiam · 11/04/2012 20:11

Congratulationsmarmite wow such a strong BOY trend!!

PoppyS34wantsminieggs · 11/04/2012 20:21

Ahhhh congrats Marmite another boy :o glad it all went well for you today. Good luck Needles hope your scan goes well. You never know, it could be a girl? Very excited for you and can't wait to hear about it. 3bears hope you're little on picks up soon, and that you don't get sick either. :) All those names sound great. We're going to have to get thinking caps on...

The3Bears · 11/04/2012 20:25

Aww would be lovely if it was a girl then 60 years is a long time Shock im sure she would get spoilt Grin Love the names aswell.

alisonmcg · 11/04/2012 22:47

Good luck with all the scans tomorrow, we have ours too! Not going to find out the flavour although the way things are going on here it's bound to be a boy!! Can't wait to see our wee one again as still only feel weak movements so will be good to see him/her bouncing around on the screen! Smile

hamncheese · 12/04/2012 07:46

Oh hope all the scans are great today :) looking forward to finding out about your boys or girls... though probably mostly boys!

In the middle of the night last night I was jokingly complaining to DH about waking me up and having to pee saying it was either him rousing me or the baby pushing on my bladder and I was like (tut) "men!". So apparently I think ours is a boy too!

Ugh it's like a monsoon out there... I want the sun back!

PoppyS34wantsminieggs · 12/04/2012 11:16

Good luck everyone with scans today. Very exciting! ham Bump is using my bladder as a trampoline, cushion and punch bag I think. It's so uncomfortable, and mildly painful at times. Confused I think it's the way he's lying, god knows what it'll be like in a few weeks time!!

Stopping in bed today, feel so shattered, and think I've been overdoing it a bit this week. Only trouble is that I'm starving and no one else here to make me breakfast! :)

NeedlesCuties · 12/04/2012 12:59

Had scan this morning, all was fine and the sonographer (sp?) was really nice and went into detail about what she was doing.

She said baby looks lovely and healthy but... she couldn't see the genital area clear enough to say what sex it is. Urgh! To give her credit she did really well and tried a few times but each time she almost got a good shot the baby would wriggle or flip over.

It was lovely to have DS there with myself and DH. He looked amazed at seeing the baby in my womb, but he didn't really understand it, but I didn't expect him to as he's only 26 months old.

Have to go back @ 30 weeks to see the Consultant about my Group B Strep so might try to blag a scan then.... But from memory I think they do scans at my hospital @ 34 weeks anyway.

EDD moved from 17/8 to 24/8.

PoppyS34wantsminieggs · 12/04/2012 14:40

Ahh, shame the little one didn't want to be seen :) but very glad to read your scan went well. Does that mean it could be a girl then? Even with bump wriggling away, there was no mistaking it was a little boy :o Blush you never know! Glad they're checking up on you re the gbs. :)

Gnomi · 12/04/2012 15:40

Hello ladies,
Apologies for my very long absence, I have been checking in occasionally but I'm absolutely hopeless at writing posts on my phone, so I've been waiting for a chance to actually sit down and type!

Glad to see all the scans are going well. How come your due date has been moved so far back Needles? Thank you so much for maintaining the list, which looks like an absolute nightmare.

PoppyS, I know what you mean about the movement. I've been woken up at 5am every morning this week by LO wriggling around. It sometimes feels like he's elbowing my bladder, which is definitely not pleasant!

We're also having a boy (this is a very boy-heavy month, isn't it?). Several of my friends with boys have offered us clothes and things which is brilliant. Met up with two more friends this morning who both have girls, and they've offered the use of a moses basket and a sling, which I'm so grateful for. I love the thought of both, but they're so expensive, and all the advice seems to be - don't buy until you're sure the baby will like it! I'm also spending lots of time doing research into re-usable nappies and wipes in an effort to save money and be more eco-friendly. I've not bought anything yet though.

I'm starting to get a bit anxious about taking on too much in my 3rd trimester. I'm basically trying to get some huge projects (like a 3rd of a masters) done before the baby arrives, and have a big house extension, which isn't even started yet. I've been fairly well all the way through, just very exhausted in the first 11-12 weeks... I'm hoping I'll be ok. I can't even think of anything after the due-date though!

Anyone else necking the Gaviscon? Heartburn is definitely here to stay!

sc0ttishlass · 12/04/2012 15:43

hi All - great to hear about all the scans - and the sun is shining too - result :)

I am actually having a bad day though - I mentioned that after my scan, the sonographer said my placenta was at the front, hence that is why I couldnt really feel any movement... yesterday had my midwife appt - i asked and she confirmed - the placenta is low lying - which is why they have to scan me again at 32 weeks.. i have been reading loads onthis and got myself into a right state - she did explain it has a long time to move - but basically if it hasnt by 32 weeks, then they would have to scan me all the time after that adn i would likely have to have a section and of course I have been reading about the other things that can go wrong! my SIL is a GP and she has said not to worry that its a while and could change - and also that its good that they are aware and monitoring me and we will both get the best help necessary etc - i know i should just forget about it - but 10 weeks seems like such a long time to know if ok! also - i still dont feel any movement (which I knwo why ) but I wish I did... as I think would help re-assure that all ok!

anyway sorry for the ramble - just wanted to get this off my chest - my DH is saying i am being silly and have to forget about it but I cant just yet! has anyone else had this previously??

xx
