Feeling very emotional that this could be the last week of just
DD + I :( we've been through so much so far.
She's still dinky to me. I just want to cherish this time
As it'll never be the same again. Very weepy.
We're very lucky to have another dc coming. I just feel its going
To add to the dramatic changes we've been dealing with.
Sorry, just silly hormones.
Also getting quite nervous now about the fact I'm probably going
To be alone with DD when labour starts. :s

Bodeccia · 15/05/2012 11:14

Hello again May Baby Ladies, just jumping across from the other thread.

I've taken the liberty of creating a post natal thread here so that we can merge together and share stories. I noticed no one had done it yet, and dange, we're half way through May! (Don't tell me you've already got one somewhere else, I had a good look...)

Hope everyone is getting on fine with their wee bundles of joy/enduring the last of their pregnancy with more grace than I am Grin

See you on the other side!

VeronicaSpeedwell · 15/05/2012 11:45

Aw, what a nice visit Bodeccia! See you there, one day...We should probably explain (if nobody has already) that this thread started off as 'late May' - we weren't being unfriendly, if just got started when a couple of weeks difference in pregnancy felt like an age. Then we forgot about that bit in our title! Looking forward to everyone having their babies Grin.

Bodeccia · 15/05/2012 12:45

No big deal, Veronica, we're all going through the same experience and have the same questions/worries. As for being 'late May', let's just say that I've been feeling more and more Envy of those ladies who are popping nice and early, my due date was 5th May, I'm now 41+3 for goodness sake! You just never know when it is going to happen :)

FYI: I've put the stats of our thread on the post natal thread, but I couldn't see an up to date stats list from you guys to be able to merge them together (I admit, I didn't look that far back...)

Feel free to put your stats on the thread too :)

Here is the link to the post natal thread

I saw you guys have a facebook page set up too, I have a feeling we have one as well (not sure if it is the same one). Maybe someone could put that info on the post natal thread too?

Hmm... is that another twinge that is going to lead to nothing? Hmm

Rugbylovingmum · 15/05/2012 16:19

Hi all, Erin Elizabeth arrived at 12.55 by c-section weighing 8lb 8oz. She is beautiful and snuggly with gorgeous dark hair. As you can tell we are totally besotted already. I'm a bit tired but very happy.

Alisonjayjay · 15/05/2012 16:39

Congratulations Ruby thats fantastic news! You must be over the moon! :)

I'm wondering if my labour might be soon. After being told by midwife last week that my baby probably wouldn't engage till just before or during labour due to it being baby #2 I wasn't expecting baby to drop any time soon. My bump has been really high for my whole pregnancy but all of a sudden today the baby seems to have dropped really low and I'm getting lots of pressure on my bladder. Heres hoping something happens soon!

hippieshake · 15/05/2012 18:37

Congratulations Rugy I hope you are resting after your op and enjoying every minute!!

Littleray I'm sorry you're having a tough time, if you need a natter you know where I am :)

What a day I had today. I went for my 38 week MW appointment, expecting it to just be the normal check my pee and blood pressure kind of thing. Instead I got told that I was only measuring 34 weeks and there didn't seem to be much fluid around the baby. I got sent off to the hospital straight away to be examined at the ante-natal clinic where they agreed with what the community MW had said. So then I got sent off for a growth scan... which showed the baby measuring as she should, with actually more fluid around her than most women have at my stage of pregnancy. Definately a girl in there too, got a full frontal view between her legs at one point!! Her head is very low down so I'm hoping it's not too long now :)

SirCharles · 15/05/2012 19:02

Ooh hippie how lovely to get a little peek at your LO before she comes out! & a relief no doubt that all is well.

To all the ladies who are now "on the other side" - Congrats on the new babies.

Well, we are now 39+3 and littleray I know what you mean by emotional. I have reached a whole new level. It is quite scary actually as I seem unable to snap out of it. Is it normal to want cry continually? I feel such doom & gloom hanging over me & no idea why! I was fine until the weekend - happy, excited & really looking forward to meeting B. But my mood changed literally Over night almost as if 39 weeks was a trigger for this cloud.
Truly horrid. Sad
I suspect DH thinks I am losing the plot..... Perhaps I am? Have never felt anything like it. Any tips to get rid of this feeling would be appreciated.

hippieshake · 15/05/2012 19:08

sircharles It was lovely to see her, she looked just like a proper baby. Seemingly having a 'neat' bump causes more concern than it's worth haha.

I have read somewhere that in the run up to labour you can get very emotional/ depressed almost. I guess it's to do with hormones? Maybe try to do some of the things you really enjoy doing before the baby comes. Put a girly film on, get DH to make you a nice meal...?

I've not felt emotional, but I have in the past day or two had the overwhelming urge to just stay at home cuddled up, which is most unlike me as I like being out and about and active. I also really didn't want DH to go to work today and wanted him to stay at home with me just watching films or something. Unfortunately I knew that couldn't happen so just got on with the day, and I am refusing to give in and just sit at home. I have a trip into town planned tomorrow and a day out on Thursday :)

alwaysanauntie · 15/05/2012 19:10

Congratulations Rugby - love the name, it was on our shortlist too! Wishing you a speedy recovery post cs (and a snuggle with your bundle of joy!) xx

littleray, completely understand your nerves about more change coming your way, I know it must be so hard to focus on the positives coming up in your future, but they are there. I'm sure your DD will cope - kids are so adaptable, and at least it will give her something else to focus on and may help distract her from missing your DP after visits? Maybe have a little Wine or some Brew and Biscuit to take moment for yourself xxx

Thanks bodeccia for the link I'll add myself when I get the chance but will keep posting on here too as nothing worse than to be the last (wo)man standing on here!

Good luck everyone with twinges (whether you're hoping they'll wait a while or come quickly), and take it easy everyone there's enough trouble coming our way as it is (NB: Enfyshedd and cewafwb!)

alwaysanauntie · 15/05/2012 19:14

ooh, x-post with you sircharles and hippieshake I found a nice bath and a bottle of beer helped me (and a good old cry when I felt like it!) but I agree - it's sodding hormones messing us around, sadly I suspect this will continue for some time, big hugs to anyone feeling fragile xxx

karatekimmi · 15/05/2012 20:51

Congratulations rugby and puddle duck

I'm still at work til Friday, when I'll be 39 weeks pregnant! I've been having issues getting mw appointment, and the next one I can get is on the 12th of June!! Not much use then (hopefully)! I got an allotment a few weeks ago so all my spare time has gone into that!

I've started the eviction plan, taking raspberry leaf tea, have massage oil with Clarysage in, on Friday night I'm off out for a curry, and DH is about to get very lucky!! Nudge nudge wink wink! Pineapple and reflexology will begin next week! I'm hoping flump doesn't get too comfortable! I suspect it's a (lazy) boy who'll need forcing out!!!

Good luck to you all and I look forward to hearing about more appearances!!

karatekimmi · 15/05/2012 20:53

Sorry always missed you out! Congratulations to you too!!

lobba · 16/05/2012 14:48

Hi all, congrats to all who have already had their little bundles of joy! I'm 38 + 4 today and I just have a feeling baby will be late so probably got a little while yet, probably a good thing as we're going to be moving house at the end of next month so i've got lots of packing and sorting to do! Really annoyed today tho as our washing machine has broken - seriously it had to last 4 more weeks! Could do without anymore expense grrrrrr. At least I'm on ML now so I have plenty of time to wait in for repairmen!
Had another scan on Monday and they now don't think the baby is big after all, if it's so inaccurate why bother worrying you?!
Take care all, here's to some more new arrivals soon!

Littlerayofsunshine · 16/05/2012 15:47

Hey Ladies,

Just an update: went for a check up (39+2) as I have been feeling
Lots of niggles, not contractions as such. Just strong BH's.
Had a sweep. 1cm dilated .Cervix 1/2cm thick, still posterior.(At this stage DD was 1cm thick) But she said baby half down birth canal. Its basically the same as my notes when I had one 3 days before I had DD. She said its great that my body has done what its doing so far. So the sweep may be completely irrelevant as my body's doing it slowly

Still feel the same now (had it done at 12:30) just the usual
As what I've felt so far. I just feel all muddled lately.
Because of the complex part of my situation with dp :(
And secretly not looking forward to pain eeeek.

Russki · 17/05/2012 08:31

Hi all, and congratulations to all those who've had their babies.
I was so convinced my baby would come early, as i knew my exact dates, but no such luck... went to dr yesterday, and my cervix is completely closed. But goodness, the vaginal examination was SO painful! makes me wonder if my pain threshold is lower than i had hoped..

katykuns · 17/05/2012 19:59

Hi guys! Most of you know, the ones on the facebook group, that I had my little girl last Friday. Just popping in here, I have been far too busy!
Emily Edith Harriet arrived on Friday 11th at 8.23am weighing 8 pounds 10 ounces :)

Congrats to the ladies that have already had their ickle ones too :) and crossing my fingers the rest of you all have a speedy delivery ^^

Russki, don't read into the vaginal examination pain too much, I found it very painful and majority of the contractions I had weren't as painful! I have heard other people finding it not remotely painful :S

My labour wasn't as easy as first time round, mainly because my waters hadn't completely broken and Emily was back to back... it went on far too long without them breaking my waters, but when they did (and gave me pethidine too lol) it all went much faster. But it has definitely all been worth it :)
Thats all you have to hang on to - that once they are here its all completely worth the pain!

Stay strong Littleray, it will all be fine :)

karatekimmi · 18/05/2012 06:56

Last day at work today!!! Yeah, no more get ups, lazing in bed til I want to get up (or jeremy Kyle is on!!) eviction plan starts in earnest tomorrow, flump will be out soon!!

VeronicaSpeedwell · 18/05/2012 10:38

Congratulations Katykuns! Another beautiful name Smile.

Enjoy your last day, karatekimmi. I officially finished last Friday, but am still working in various ways, and am likely to be doing stuff throughout my leave one way or another, but that's fine. I think I might be going a bit mad if I were sitting here feeling like I'm just waiting. My SPD has got a lot better since I stopped going into the office, and generally I feel pretty good, which I know makes me lucky. The idea of having a baby so soon feels quite unreal still. I guess that will change!

Rugbylovingmum · 18/05/2012 12:09

Congratulations Katykuns!!

Erin and I came yesterday from hospital and I am feeling amazingly well, much better than after my emergency c-section. DD1 has been brilliant - she is very excited about having 'her baby' home and has been giving her lots of gentle kisses and cuddles but having my dad here is fab as he takes her off when she gets overexcited. She was fascinated watching Erin have her milk from mummy's boobies and wanted to 'have a go too' but luckily she was happy with the explanation that the milk is special baby milk and she drinks her own big girl milk . Erin just eats and sleeps so I'm very well rested. Last night she woke for a feed every 2 hours between 11 and 5 but just had a quick 10min feed then went back to sleep and then didn't get up until 8.30pm, I just hope it lasts Wink. I'm just hanging around now waiting for the midwife.

Sorry for lack of personals, I'll be back later.

SirCharles · 18/05/2012 13:38

Hola lovely ladies! Congrats on the babies! Excited looking forward to the arrival of this Bubba I can tell u, esp as one of the NCT girls had hers on her due date this week! Envy

Well my hormonal state has been poor all week (crying, gloomy, angry) but eventually turned into the mother of all migraines. Have not had one in 2 years and of course cannot take medication :( I used to suffer badly until I came off the Pill (about a decade ago!!) due to the high risk of stroke!
GP says it makes sense given my migraine history - all those hormones going mental are needed to get labour started BUT are same reason I am banned from the Pill! Oh joy - if only someone had warned me I might have been able to prepare.... Oh well, he did say it Should be a sign the end is imminent tho.
Saw osteopath which helped yesterday & reflexologist today. Fingers crossed evens out my body's ability to cope with the hormonal ups/downs & speeds up the Grand Finale Grin
Hope no one else is suffering.

iowmum88 · 19/05/2012 08:45

Still no baby here 38+4 weeks!! Getting irritated now, DP away last nite and tonight so hope it doesn't kick off today!! My mum goes away on Monday for a week Confused so guna b a little difficult making sure DS is looked after as my dad works over an hour away so looks likely my brother (18) will have to do it, DS adores him and he adores DS but he's a typical 18 year old lad, not the best at sticking to routines and and taking him to the toilet! We will just have to wait and see!!
littleray not heard anything for a few days did the sweep work???

Wommer · 19/05/2012 16:12

Congrats all on the new babies :-) hope you're all doing well Smile

Still no real movement here - although managed to trip over the door frame in my house today and totally stacked it.... Fortunately onto all fours so bump wasn't touched - I do have a rather fetching purple knee now though!

Am still going with the pineapple, and had a curry last night. Don't think it was hot enough tho as no real changes so it will have to be a vindaloo next time!

I do seem to be getting little cramps quite low down now though which I've not had before so perhaps this could be the start of something......? They don't really hurt much tho so perhaps not!

Feeling quite productive today - have been to b+q and new look (got myself some mega comfy men's flip flops for the next few weeks (or perhaps the whole summer :-D) And between the two of us James and I (although my help has been limited I have to admit!) have wallpapered the bathroom this afternoon.

Am crashing now tho so nap time I think before going out for dinner tonight.

How's everyone else doing?
littleray - any movement after your sweep?
Unless I have a baby by midnight tomorrow I'll officially be in the overdue camp as I'm 39+6 today....
My mw has offered to do a sweep for me next thurs so I hope that when she has a look there's some ripening/effacing going on, otherwise I've heard there's little point in doing one.

Hope everyone's enjoying their weekend. We've actually had some sun here today so have been able to do some gardening too Grin

Xxxxx

Saltytomato · 19/05/2012 17:18

Hi ladies, alextasha aka salty tomato here!

Congrats to those who have had their babies! What lovely names you have picked out.

I am 38+5 today and am ready for him to come out now, but I think he is quite comfy. I have a strange feeling he will be out closer to the 3/4th of June rather than the 28th of may....

The midwife told me I am 3/5ths engaged, haven't had any internal examinations yet though, thank god, by the sound of it! Still feeling completely calm about labour, but that will probably change. My blood pressure has been high so they said I probably won't be able to have a water birth like I wanted, which sucks, but I don't mind if that's what's best for me and the baby.

My dh has been going mental painting and doing the garden and getting everything ready. It's been good, but I keep saying he needs to chill out and calm down as he won't get another chance once the baby is born. He seems t think I have some psychic link to the baby and can tell when it is coming cos he asks constantly when I think it will be, like I actually know! I wish! Hahahaha

Hope you are all doing well xx

Littlerayofsunshine · 19/05/2012 18:10

Still with child! I was 1cm dilated on Weds, had lots of cramps/
BH's, particularly getting stronger in the evenings. Baby's movements
Send shooting pains up my fanjo/bum area. Isn't nice but just wears off.
Due date on Monday so I have no idea. All I know is I am emotional!
Fed up! And just feeling heavy. I don't often wish pain on myself
But in this case I think its an exception!?

Also very emotional as tomorrow was MEANT to be DP's release date on tag :(
Had looking at it crossed out "welcome home Daddy" on my calender.
19 weeks on monday until he's home for good. Seems a life time away
But each day... I guess.

Quite bizarre this morning, dd said "mummy! Baba! And pointed at
The moses basket and said baba! Until now she's not even realised its there.
Maybe its a sign... (She says!)

How is everyone?
