Congratulations precious that's great news :)
Xx

Enfyshedd · 12/05/2012 18:14

Congratulations Precious! Glad everything's gone well for you Smile

LimeFlower · 12/05/2012 20:30

Congratulations precious on the birth of your daughter :)
and congrats on your first May baby :)

alwaysanauntie · 13/05/2012 07:58

Well, not sure if things might be starting to happen here, had a quick lie down after my bath last night and had a couple of period-type crampy pain BH contractions (so immediately went downstairs to tell DH he needed to stop guzzling the Wine just in case!). Slept ok last night (took a couple of paracetamol before bed) apart from the usual stoopidly sore hip joints, and now seem to be getting contractions every 10 to 20 minutes for about 20-30 seconds. Not massively painful but definitely noticeable, being my first I guess I'm note really sure what to expect pain wise Confused

So, currently using birthing ball and slow deep breathing to take my mind off them, and am trying to make a mental note of how far apart they are (not regular/long enough to actually bother recording them I don't think), and also hoping that this means I'll have a baby in a couple of days rather than a week or too of painful build-up to labour Hmm Must admit as DM is coming back on Monday evening to finish wallpapering and carpet fitter is booked for 8am Wednesday I wouldn't mind if things tailed off for a few days just to get a bit more sorted, I guess if the LO is anything like either of her parents she'll do whatever she wants regardless of our wishes anyway :o

Hope everyone else is doing well, and you all get to enjoy some sunshine today (lovely here already, might mow the lawn later!) anyone else think they're ready to pop? :)

Rugbylovingmum · 13/05/2012 08:40

precious - congratulations GrinGrinGrin. I hope you are feeling okay today after the section and lack of sleep. I remember the day after my section being the worst - I was exhausted and very sore - but I felt a million times better the following day and I was home that lunchtime. Does your beautiful daughter have a name yet?

always - how exciting Grin. I hope you are going to be meeting your baby very soon (even if the decorating isn't quite finished, I'm sure you won't care).

I am very tired today, my hips, back and pelvis have all been very painful this weekend which is perfect timing for taking away any nerves about my section on Tuesday Wink. Just looking forward to holding my baby now Grin. DP has taken DD1 off swimming so I've had a lovely relaxing bath and am now having a lazy morning.

Russki · 13/05/2012 08:43

Congratulations precious!
always sounds like it might well be the beginning! How exciting! I've also been feeling a bit different in last few days - more back pain, crampy feelings in lower abdomen, baby very low down now. I even went to bed with a towel the other night, so sure that it was imminent! I'm technically due today by my conception dates, although EDD not till next Sun.

hippieshake · 13/05/2012 09:41

always I've been having period type pains and strong Braxton Hicks that have ended up at 4 minute intervals for the past week. With back ache too. Eventually caved an phoned the MW and she said it's normal but that hopefully it should develop into proper labour soon. I've been bouncing on my birthing ball too, and walking lots, and taking raspberry leaf tea.

It's getting exciting how we're all nearly there isn't it :)

Alisonjayjay · 13/05/2012 10:30

Hi Ladies, I haven't been on this thread for so long. Great to hear how everyone getting on and we're all nearly at the finish line!
Congratulations Precious! Great news on your new arrival!
alwaysanauntie I hope that's it started for you! :)
I'm now at 38 wks + 2 days and my baby is still so high! I saw the midwife a few days ago and she said the baby's head is still 'free' from my pelvis and is likely to remain there until labour starts since it's my second baby so it's unlikely I'll get any relief from the rib flare and breathlessness till baby actually comes out!
A few weeks ago we had a presentation scan when I was at 36 wks as we thought the baby was lying oblique but it turns out he/she is head down and we got the most amazing scan pictures of the face. I put one of the pictures in a little frame and can't stop staring at it. Just can't wait to meet my little bundle. Still think it's a girl but ds is convinced it's a brother!
I've had a few days where I've had a low down crampy feeling but it has eased off so I think it may be just because of the weight of my bump. The braxton hicks are coming more regularly and baby is really running out of space cos I can feel big wriggly movements and attempts at stretching out which really hurt but not much actual kicking. The feet seem to be wedged under my ribs! I just can't wait now and am starting to get really bored and tired of waiting. It's only 12 days till my due date and a maximum of 12 days after that till I can be induced so I know I'm going to be meeting my baby soon and really excited! How is everyone else feeling?

alwaysanauntie · 13/05/2012 11:52

hippieshake I do NOT fancy feeling like this for a whole week!! Poor you! Plus I'm due Tuesday, and as the pain only comes with the contraction (no pain at all with previous Braxton hicks) I'm planning for things to happen in the next couple of days :o :o (also feeling a bit nauseous & may have had a clearout this morning - sorry if tmi, but could equally have been the undercooked pizza I had last night!)

I also did my waitrose shop this morning in the hope my waters would break and I could get my free shopping/voucher but no joy, will just have to find something to buy so I can go back on a daily basis :)

alison I'm 39 +6 & I think baby only engaged a day or two ago, so there's still hope!

rugby hope you get to relax a bit today & the pain eases off x
russki I put one of the boots maternity pads under the bed sheet last night just in case, so totally know what you mean! Hope things get started soon!

hippieshake · 13/05/2012 16:34

oooh always it definately sounds like it might be happening for you!! I'm getting too excited every time one of us has a twinge haha :)

Keep us posted! x

SirCharles · 13/05/2012 21:27

Evening! Sending positive happy oxytocin laden vibes to all you ladies hoping to pop tonight/soon.
Does anyone know how many weeks due date is after conception? Trying to work out my real due date rather than the one the drs gave me!! (we know exactly when we conceived as DH works away!!!)

Russki · 13/05/2012 21:28

sircharles i read it is 38 weeks gestation from conception... so that's what i've been working off.. in my case a wedding night baby..

alwaysanauntie · 14/05/2012 06:29

Baby announcement! Our little girl was born at 7.17pm at home on 13th May after 6 1/4 hours of "real" labour. Will post proper birth details later but she fed last night & then slept for 6 hrs, so we're not feeling too bad thankfully :o Hope to hear of more new arrivals soon, I'm off to stare at my beautiful baby :)

Russki · 14/05/2012 07:38

Congrats always - what terrific news, and very envious of the home birth. Looking forward to reading how it went.

Wommer · 14/05/2012 08:58

Wow always that's fantastic Congratulations!!!! Xxx

SirCharles · 14/05/2012 08:58

Congrats always. Enjoy snuggling.
Thanks russki. A wedding anniversary/bank holiday weekend baby for us Grin

Littlerayofsunshine · 14/05/2012 09:27

Congratulations always :)

I'm so unbelieveably fed up. Midwife isn't available this week
So I'm annoyed. Wanted to speak with her/them about a sweep. They
Both said they'd be willing. I just feel so pissed off now.
39weeks today. And couldn't be more depressed. Missing dp. Feeling
The stretch, and just feeling nervous about how its going to
Pan out. I bet knowing my luck lately it'll all go wrong.
I keep noticing myself snap at dd when all she's doing is being
A 18month old. Most days we're ok. I just feel done in! Bh's
Are constant but not amounting to anything, backache in bed,
No motivation, striking pains when baby is moving (still moving
Very rapidly). And I just want to cry.

Fed up, fed up, fed up. And just worried dd is picking up on my
Stressy mood

Enfyshedd · 14/05/2012 10:11

Congratulations always! Glad all went well for you - looking forward to reading the details. Thanks

Morning "LittleRay - sorry you're having a rough time at the moment. I know I can't say anything which will make it all better and I can't imagine what it's like to have an 18 month old, never mind missing your DP and being heavily pg at the same time, but I hope that you start to feel more positive soon. I keep being told that nothing compares to the first time you set eyes on your baby, so try to get that thought in mind. I'm sure you're an amazing mum to your DD and you will be again to your new baby - it's just a bit tough at the moment. Remember: what doesn't break you, makes you stronger (or my paraphrasing of another cliche - the b***s might grind you down, but don't given them the satisfaction of winning). Thanks

Well, I survived DSS2's birthday party yesterday. In fact, of the 6 who were invited, 2 had to drop out on Friday for various reasons and in the end, only DSS2's best friend turned up. I felt terrible for him Sad. Fortunately, he didn't seem to mind/notice, and then later on when his friend was going home, a couple of the other boys who live in our street who are a year older than him then came around to play as well, so he ended up having a really good day Smile.

MW appointment last Friday went well. Head still not engaged, but "circling the drain" (as I put it). Am going to start the exercises given to me by my chiropractor to encourage my pelvis to move easier into the right position soon - have been reluctant to do them before DSS2's birthday tomorrow in case they moved things along a bit too quickly for my liking!! Wink

Alisonjayjay · 14/05/2012 12:29

Aw congratulations always! I'm so happy for you! Wow what a quick labour you had. Can't wait to hear the rest of the details on here and hope we have lots of birth announcements soon.
I'm feeling fantastic today cos my doctor prescribed me Zantac for horrific reflux which was stopping me eating or sleeping. Last night I took one and what a difference it's made! I slept all night and I finally have my appetite back!
littleray I hope you feel better soon. I had a few days of feeling really down in the dumps last week but woke up this morning feeling so much better and realised my baby is finally due next week! I hope you feel better soon.
I have a feeling I'm going to go overdue again but hopefully I'm wrong. I'm booked in for a membrane sweep at 41 weeks just incase but hoping the next time I see the midwife it'll be at home with the new baby!

Littlerayofsunshine · 14/05/2012 13:44

Jus ot bck from playgroup with DD. We had a nice morning after-all. But DP is worried about me driving so will need to ease off in a few days...

MW is phoning me later at some point so I will discuss with her about being seen this week. i've got lower backache since this morning, and regular BH's. just not painful enough for labour! I also wanted to know if i was actually dilating at all as I did with DD's BH's. These ones are much stronger. especially in the evening i cant sit for long as the pressure down there and baby pushing down is realy uncomfy.

My head just feels all cloudy with mixed emotions. DD's having a nap, I should be too but i feel even more groggy if i sleep in the day. i'll just have another early night...Did my food shop online thank goodness so that's one thing ticked off for this week.

............MW just phoned. I have a sweep booked for Wednesday. Maybe this might set things off. I always feel nervous about having a sweep but needs must. I just really dont want to go over again. am i being too impatient?

sorry for memememe posts

Cewafwb · 14/05/2012 16:14

Littleray I am sure I speak for everyone when we say that we are here for you and expect lots of memememe posts! Nothing worse than having a little support, and if we can give you some, then bring it on - memememe it all the way! Sounds like you might be having the early stirrings anyway without the sweep, but lets see how you go.

I went to midwife for final once over, bloods, swabs and pills this am and am now much less engaged than I was - something to do with running and jumping I am told! Amazed that I can still run and it doesn't feel like I have a baby at all - heavenly actually. Jumping off the wall repeatedly probably hasn't helped it out though, or rather further in!

Still can't quite believe I am going to have a baby, denial has been lovely, but think perhaps with three days to go I ought to actually get head in gear - how do I do that??? Terrified that PND will hit me as I have refused to accept its actually happening!

Yay for everyone who has had - can we have some names though please, as we seem to have not been told and I would love to know!
x

alwaysanauntie · 14/05/2012 16:45

Just for you cewafwb :o we've finally decided on Cora Regina (Reg is after DH's dsis who was killed in an accident last year). Hard to type with baby in one arm while on phone so will catch up layer, thanks for all the good wishes xxx

VeronicaSpeedwell · 14/05/2012 16:52

Congratulations always! Fantastic news, and lovely name. Will you have to namechange yourself now Grin?

I have only just finished work, and still have some stuff to catch up on, so haven't had time to properly read the rest of everyone's news but good to see that we're all getting closer to the finish line. Exciting times Smile.

VeronicaSpeedwell · 14/05/2012 16:54

Oh, and congratulations to puddleduck too!

Rugbylovingmum · 14/05/2012 18:55

Congratulations always GrinGrinGrin. Cora is a beautiful name!

Littleray - I am tired, fed up and feeling sorry for myself and I have
DP and my dad here to help so it's no wonder you feel down. Sorry I can't do anything to help you but we're all thinking of you and please keep coming on here to offload. Fingers crossed the sweep works for you.

I had my pre-op appointment today which means I spent most of the afternoon hanging around the ante natal unit waiting to speak to the anaesthetist and doctor. Finally got all the paperwork signed and picked up my pre-meds to take tonight - I go in to hospital tomorrow at 7.30am and unless there are loads of emergency sections to do I should have my section tomorrow morning at 9am or 11am. It still seems a bit unreal but this time tomorrow I will be a mum of 2 Shock.
