Sircharles I enjoy pregnancy but stuff 22months!! lol
I had a birth plan with DD, pretty much stating that I wanted a natural birth, keeping active, DP to cut the cord, immediate skin-to-skin, breastfeeding etc etc. in some cases it does go out of the window, but mine was kept to quite well tbh other than my unfortunate PPH after having her.
Stitches - I tore with DD but i honestly didnt know, and luckily suffered no terrible pain after, I was just aware for a few weeks iyswim.
Skin-to-skin - state this, as sometimes they just get on with the initial checks etc, I had immediate S2S, and then when I was being stitched, DP had S2S whilst DD was having checks (temp etc) I found this lovely to watch :)
Cord - I think DD's wasnt cut straight away, She was laid on me for a bit, then I think when it stopped or decreased throbbing DP cut it.
Not sure on the cord/placenta banking :s, My placenta was "ragged" so it wouldnt have been much use i dont think. (literally torn as I was pushing so hard, waters were bulging for ages and DD was big for me and fast!)
My birth plan is the same this time around, I've put in for the water pool again (I did last time but a woman was in there labouring for hours, and i went in and had DD in another room and she was still in the pool :o)
So if I have enough time, I would like to try it. I've also added to this plan that if my waters dont break within good time then i want them popped, as DDs were "bulging" until her head was coming out, which apparently made the pain more intense. I did it naturally still. and... um? Oh and I've been advised this time for "active management" in the 3rd stage(the jab they give you in your leg to help the uterus contract for the placenta to come out) I did it naually with DD in 21mins, but where i lost like 1000mls of blood they just think it would be best if i have the jab. and just things like no immediate visitors, giving me time to shower etc before they come. all handy i found.
Hippie I think it just depends on the invididual, i know some first-timers who had their baby at like 9am and was home by 4pm :s - to me this seems too soon and she felt rough and not cared for. where as I stayed in 2 nights (observation the first night due to PPH, but the chose to sta a 2nd just to make sure I was 100%, and my blood count was good enough.
This time I dont want to be away from DD too long, but DP has said he'd rather me stay an extra night just to make sure im ok health wise, and also give you a bit of time to "come back down to earth" i think?
Went to see DP yesterday, miss him SO much :( we just want to know if he's going to be allowed home or not :( going to be a long wait until we know :( LIMBO
Sorry for the absolute essay!
