Thanks. I Keep trying to think that. and DP says you just need to look at our daughter to see how happy she is. so thats nice. we had a better afternoon. but glad she's in bed now as I need food, a nice hot milk and soaps. :)
Messy play tomorrow, followed by running a few errands, and a treat to Starbucks. oh and getting a few bits for hospital bag hopefully.

Spoke to DP - still no change. just need to wait really. but probably waiting for more shitty news (?) God I love him so much.

Oh yes, I second The womanly Art of Breastfeeding another good read is The food Of Love - I found it very good! and also REALLY advise going to see a breastfeeding counsellor. Luckily my DP's cousin is one and she works at a local baby cafe - godsend. As I said I had excrutiating pain from day one and it took us 10 weeks to be pain-free and fuss-free. I had bouts of mastitis, thrush with DD, and also an open wound on my nipple from a bad latch. oh and to top it off, my left side never wanted to work as well as my right. and then my right had more milk so DD ended up getting squirted now & again! BUT It was the best choice I ever made was to persevere. I remember DP's cousin saying "Honestly it does get better, and when it does, it's a breeze. and the most lovely experience" she was right. :)

Also just dawned on me that if baby is 2 weeks ealy I will be inlabour on my birthday Hmm

Awh Dozey that's such a shame, but it's not definate yet so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

You seem like such a strong lady already, you've done much better than I would've if I was in your shoes.

Keep your chin up and keep going, we're all here to support you and you'll get through it just fine :)

xx

Wommer · 15/03/2012 11:48

Hi all,
dozey am really keeping my fingers crossed that when you get definite news its good. Xx

Has anyone who's keeping it a surprise had any dreams about the gender of the baby?
I had a really clear one last night that we had a daughter with loads of ginger hair! (I'm mousy brown and hb has very dark brown hair) have had a feeling that it's a girl all along, but would be really amazing if it turns out that it is and she's a redhead too!
Xxx

Dozeyland · 15/03/2012 14:15

Thanks.

DP is finding out today if it's worth appealing... so just got to expect the worst, hope for the best. Very hard concept though that he wont officially be home until October, when DD will be almost 2 and DC will be 6months...
visits weekly but just not the same. and i'm now dreading the birth with him not being there.

I can't put my finger on it this time.. had a funny feeling with DD and also a vivid dream that DP would be sat holding a girl, to the right of me in the hospital on a rocking chair - and it came true.

OP posts:
AlexTasha · 15/03/2012 16:50

Dozey has he found out about the appeal? Fingers crossed for you.

RachelC86 · 15/03/2012 19:38

Hey all, I'm due 24th may x

SirCharles · 16/03/2012 11:09

dozey - fingers (& toes) crossed for you. Keep your head up.

wommer - no dreams about gender BUT DH & I both have strong feelings the LO is a boy - no idea why though.... might be a shock if LO arrives and is a girl.....

However I have had some pretty weird dreams - normally about giving birth by myself at home, usually in the bath! But I never get to see whether it is a DS or a DD. No face details, no sign if there is hair/no hair. weird! The dreams do go into some detail as I dreamt that the BA exec team managed to get hold of my DH on the plane back from overseas (where he works) so i could tell him we had a baby.
Another the night the LO and I had a photo with the ambulance crew that came...... see told you it was weird.

anyone else having weird dreams?

Welcome Rachel - you are due the week after me - exciting times non?!

Dozeyland · 16/03/2012 12:34

Not found out anything yet. A waiting game (Thumbs down)
Expect the worst, hope for the best I suppose....

Hi everyone...Dozey, sorry to hear you're having a difficult time, hope you get some good news too. Alex, great to hear you had a lovely wedding and h/moon...
I'm checking in quickly as I'm trying to fill some time on my very last day of work! Wow - I cannot believe how quick time has flown past since Xmas. How can my maternity leave be starting already?! We've had a couple of NCT classes now, and even though I kind of knew already, having it confirmed that anytime between 37 and 42 weeks is a normal gestation has really brought it all home. Tho its unlikely, at that reckoning its possible that we could have an early baby in another 3 weeks! I'd better get nesting...
Wommer - I've been having quite strong dreams that I have a girl - DH has been dreaming that its a kitten! I have no idea what that means! I think he's still a little bit in denial!

Anyway - this is it ladies - the final stretch! I never thought I'd be ready but I have to admit, the increasing difficulty of rolling over in bed, hauling myself off the sofa, and the rising excitement is beginning to change my thoughts. I'm even looking forward to washing the babygros next week!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend
x

alwaysanauntie · 17/03/2012 17:18

sircharles I've been lurking on the other thread & saw your question about your tummy going hard & just thought I'd let you know that'd be the Braxton hicks contractions! I've had stronger ones recently & some of them have been quite painful especially if I'm in the bath or stand up after sitting down for a while.

On the weird dreams front I've had quite a few ranging from an emcs after which they lost the baby & then aliens invaded the hospital (hmmm) to being able to see individual fingers and toes through my skin... Like I said, weird!

Baby also still stubbornly breech & showing no inclination to move at all, so am looking into options if she doesn't turn, not sure I fancy delivering her bum first! :o

Only 4 weeks left of work am trying to get extra days off as I've had enough, but I guess it'll soon pass. Before you know it we'll all have our babies & be utterly sleep deprived & knackered!

hippieshake · 17/03/2012 19:09

I have been having rather odd dreams too, very vivid. Those combined with not sleeping too well are making me slightly doolally haha!

How is everyone this weekend? x

Dozeyland · 17/03/2012 19:14

Oh yes, Braxton hicks. I had strong ones from 20weeks onwards with DD1, and now with DC2 they started about 19 weeks and are very strong :)
Sometimes I think Wowza, especially when it tightens low down. My bump is rock solid as it is let alone with BH! 3 midwivs told me with DD that its to make for an "efficient labour" not sure how true this is but in my case it was as she came within a couple of hours of labour starting!

Saw DP today & still no news. will HOPEFULLY hear more next week. Had a visit just us three which was nice. and got to speak about names, and also me saying that i'm not sure how to "plan" a labour scenario action plan as such (especially with DD) and him potentially not being here...

but we'll cross that bridge............

anyone else for toe cramps?

And my foot pain on my right is due to a little bit of fluid and probable pulled ligament. also looked online and it says pregnant women are more prone to a kind of "flat foot" syndrome. makes sense considering the weight gain.

I have 9 weeks ish left and i've so far put on a stone. but not sure where exactly. bt definitely all bump again (and have an inkling it's going to be another whopper) god help me

OP posts:
alwaysanauntie · 17/03/2012 19:36

Dozey not got toe cramps but getting them most nights in my calf muscles, sometimes both at the same time :( glad you had a nice visit today, I also read about fallen arches in pg (the other place I get cramps) apparently it's also partly due to relaxin hormone causing ligaments to stretch but should go back to normal after birth. In the meantime I've been doing good toes, naughty toes to try and exercise foot muscles!

Dozeyland · 17/03/2012 20:34

Yeah relaxin hormone. I had this with DD (not the foot part) the calf cramps - at 3am mostly OUCH. also find that where i have DD already i'm lifting a lot more than I did with her. Also forget i'm pregnant half the time and just do things i shouldn't moving furniture

I'm trying to keep my feet moving, rotating etc.

Bab has gone quite low the past few days. LOTS of movement still though. just wonder if its possible for placenta to move? I am anterior placenta which usually means movement can be hidden sometimes. but I had this with DD and felt loads, and have this placetna again this time and feel SO much more!?

OP posts:
Wommer · 17/03/2012 21:13

Evening all,
Just a quick drop in. Have had cramps in calf muscles most nights recently which is a horrible way to wake up!!
Also just today have noticed both nipples have started leaking a little (gets ALOT more if I squeeze them). This seems really early - 31w tomorrow, espesh as have never BFed before....?

Anyone else leaking yet?

Xx

Dozeyland · 17/03/2012 21:15

I started leaking at about 20weeks with DD! No leaking yet with this DC. currently 30+5!

OP posts:
Rugbylovingmum · 17/03/2012 21:44

Hi all,

I'm having very strong braxton hicks too and much more frequently than last time. They make me feel really breathless and the baby doesn't seem to like them at all as I usually get a few sharp kicks when it happens - not much fun if I am carrying DD downstairs! Getting lots of movement here as well. I think the baby must be in a completely different position this time as with DD she had her foot wedged in my ribs/diaphragm and most of the nudges and kicks were very high up. This time most of the kicks are on my left hand side low down on my tummy or they feel as though she is kicking right in my pelvis - ouch Shock. I wonder if that means she is breech - not that it matters as I am having a c-section. Makes all these 'practice' contractions a waste of time too Hmm.

DP and I have both had some kind of virus this week (upset tummy, headaches and feeling dizzy) and I haven't been able to eat anything more than a couple of crackers since Wednesday. I haven't been sleeping either so I was exhausted by Friday and being a rubbish mummy Sad. DD has been an angel though and played with her trains and dolls by herself or cuddled up with me to watch dvd's. I'm much better today and managed some toast and cereal thank god so hopefully I'll be back to normal tomorrow and can spend the day playing with her and giving her a bit more attention.

Dozey - glad you had a good visit and some family time, fingers crossed you hear some news soon.

Dozeyland · 17/03/2012 21:49

Thank you.

I have feelings down in pelvis too. and MW said that he/or she is head down with its hand up. so this could be the same for you too?

I have movements everywhere :s. to the sides, ribs, belly button. crazy bean in there lol

I am just worrying if this one will be early seeing as the BH's are a lot stronger than DD... also feels lower the past few days.

I feel huge already. people beg to differ but i feel like im popping out already. probably how im carrying but i just wonder if i'll have another 8lb9 baby if not bigger..... I'm a small frame as it is! lol

Cewafwb · 18/03/2012 15:48

Haven't written for a while, but have been keeping in touch. Have been utterly flat out doing building works and trying desperately to get the house organised - no time for nesting - but wow - the feeling is kicking in! Managed to clear the nursery with my mother's help yesterday as was stuffed with all our stuff we hadn't yet put in place since the building was vaguely finished, only to find that the builders had put all our WET boxes onto plastic onto the floor - and the carpet which has never had anyone walk on it other than when the builders put the boxes down - has gone mouldy. So mouldy that it has literally eaten the carpet. Chunks of it came up in my hand when I tried to clean it! So - new carpet replacing brand spanking new carpet! Trying to get the house on the market in the next four weeks - what a nightmare! Still surrounded by builders 7 days a week - such fun! Been 10 months now and seriously over it! Worse still, have now created perfect all singing and dancing house, only to sell it immediately as can't afford to live in it or keep it! Back to square one again!

Had a 4D scan at exactly 30 weeks, was supposed to be at 29 weeks but was so ill with this horrid chest infection/cold/temperature bug doing the serious rounds, that we had to cancel. The baby was seriously not playing ball which was such a shame, as with ds3 it was incredible and of course dh didn't come to that one, so was really looking forward to seeing this one, only to find the cord straight in front of its face, and it squashed up against my placenta - using it as a pillow. Apart from a bit of mouth opening, we saw virtually nothing - for an hour!!! What a huge shame and a waste of £78 but at least we got photos, a dvd and saw which way up it is. Still don't know what it is which is why I go late - although in hindsight, should have gone at about 26ish so it had more room to move.

Glad everyone doing well, seriously struggling with names on any level! Anyone else?

Have such awful pain in my hips at night/morning, but other than that no symptoms at all. Still moving fast and furiously (me and the baby!) and managing to do the three thousand things I have to do a day.

No early babies yet!?!?!

Enfyshedd · 18/03/2012 18:56

30 wks today, and I'm shattered. Had my (late) 28 week check up on Friday where I was told everything's measuring up fine including my BP. Wriggles was practising being head down at the time (which I'm hoping is a good sign of things to come), so back in 2 weeks for the next check up.

At home, we've started stage 2 of the great clear out to move DSSs into their new bedrooms so we've got room for a nursery - 4 black bags and a box of rubbish from the last 2 days taken to the tip this afternoon, and increasingly aware that we're probably going to have to pay for storage. Once we're in a position to move DSS1 into his new room, it should all go pretty quickly but it's just getting the first room emptied to start with without filling the rest of the house with crap.

My main challenge at the moment seems to be biting my tongue with both DSSs. DSS1 (13) isn't too bad, but every so often he'll kick off at DP so I end up in the middle, and at the moment I'm turning around to the pair of them and saying I've had a gutsful of both of them. DSS2 (5) is doing my nut in more at the moment because he's go bloody hyperactive and I haven't got the energy to put up with it. The worst thing from my point of view is that half of the time I'm getting wound up with him it's because he wants to do homework and I can't help getting annoyed when he insists on me getting the spelling & handwriting worksheets printed off for him then him saying he's "too tired" 3 words into a 10 word list and turning on the tears when you tell him to finish the work he's started (otherwise it will get lost in his comics or toy box and you'll have to print off a new list the next night). One of my other pet peeves is him deciding to repeat one word constantly throughout the day - today's word since DP collected the DSSs from their idiot mother is "cheese" which is particularly annoying because I can't stand cheese and the mere thought of it is enough to start a resurgence in my morning sickness. Turns out that DP's ex gives DSS2 a cheese sandwich for breakfast every morning that he's over there (according to DSS2) - kinda gives DP's statements about his ex only ever sitting around the house eating cheese sandwiches some credibility.

Vent/Rant over. Looking forward to an early night tonight - not that I'll get one with DSS1 insisting on staying up to 10pm and the usual argument about him turning off his xbox 20 minutes beforehand.... AAARRRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dozeyland · 18/03/2012 19:52

I wonder which of us will be early or late? crazy thought. my bump has dropped the past few days... movement is still very active so thats good. but just think if its gone low already and braxton hicks are getting a lot stronger and frequent - not sure whta this tells me. could be nothing.

Had the mother of all migraines today. and flashing in my eye, felt sick and very weak. will check with MW tomorrow. :s

31 weeks tomorrow... I really can;t believe how fast its creeping up now can you all?

Have yo doe your hospital bags yet? I still haven't finished. only put maternity pads in so far! planning on taking one bag, and DD will have her bag. and may also take changing bag for baby?

Still yet to buy the double pushchair too. Need to sell my other one first.

anyone else getting discharge? TMI sorry. I remember I did with DD but can't remember what they say is the right amount/type at this stage....

I just keep having little worry moments about the weeks around EDD... I really dont know whether i'm coming or going with my emotions right now. can't plan around DP. Can't plan anything really as its so unpredictable/ I need to have a rough plan and right it all out for SIL, Dad, and people. Just hope that it doesnt want to happen in the middle of the night!!

I kind of need to just go with the flow. but with everything going on and little DD I just think i need at least something. even though it probably wont go to plan!

whats everyone's plans for this?

OP posts:
alwaysanauntie · 19/03/2012 04:29

dozey just saw your other post about the migraine, I get them like this fairly regular (thankfully less so since I've been pg) so it would be normal for me & given the stress you've been under not surprising in your case, but just as well to get BP & protein checked out in case. Hope you feel better in the morning xx

SirCharles · 19/03/2012 14:32

always - i just noticed you posted very early/late today - what are you up to?! I can barely keep myself going during the day let alone in the middle of the night :)

dozey I used to get migraines like that very regularly, although not since a cranial osteopath had his weird way with my head a few years back!! Mine used to be triggered by stress, tiredness, too much emotion, hormonal upheaval, alcohol or a change in sleep patterns - so given what you are coping with right now it may not be so surprising (if you have suffered them before) but definitely get the MW to give you a thorough check up and to add "migraine xx/mm" to your notes. I seem to remember nausea and headaches can also be a warning sign of other things, like PE.

Happy new week everyone!! 61 days til our EDD..... goodness me that feels close, especially as 21 days prior to that is considered "term" - 40 days!!!! wow. I still have nothing....... oh well, back in the UK in 11 days when we can start house hunting and then once that is sorted I can sort out The Baby with some bits & pieces!!

BTW - Is anyone else suffering the twin problems of: 1. can only eat small amounts as stomach is being squished and 2. starving within an hour of eating?! it is maddening.... & means I am losing all sense of how much daily food intake is the right amount! The scales are really soaring upwards now - thank goodness I am still exercising.

iowmum88 · 19/03/2012 15:20

hi all hope everyone is feeling ok, dozey i really hope you get some good news soon, sounds like your coping very well.

29+5 today had diabetes test last week not heard anything back from that so no news is good news. i get an extra scan at 32 weeks so very excited about that!

nesting has kicked in big time had to be dragged out nursery today by DP as was in there for hours organising and cleaning, just needs decorating now and clothes washing and few other bits and bobs to buy.

on the changing bag front just going to use the one i used with DS, the free boots one, did the job perfectly was very easy to wipe clean and kept everything separate and clean.

got the physio appointment on Wednesday which is actually a class for other pregnant women with the same sort of problems so should be interesting and nice to meet other women and have a big moan.

so glad everyone is managing to keep the bun in the oven, am just aiming to get to 34 weeks and every day/week after that is a bonus, even though im sure this time i will go overdue. seems strange thinking that from this point in 4 weeks i had DS quite a scary thought if im honest!!!!

alwaysanauntie · 19/03/2012 21:45

sircharles I keep waking up at 3.30am with Braxton hicks contractions so I go on the internet on my phone for an hour until I'm tired enough to go back to sleep, being pg is so much fun! Still, I guess it's practice for night feeds, does mean I'm bloody knackered in the day though :o

Dozey any news on the migraine front?

cewafwb we're also struggling with names, have a reasonable list (about 10) but most of them seem to be in the top 10 and we wanted something a bit different, so we're pretty much back to the drawing board... Your building work sounds epic, you must be shattered! We're doing our ensuite & main bedroom & that's bad enough! Hope it goes ok (according to my mum hormonal rants at builders can sometimes scare them into action! :) )

iowmum88 glad you're getting the nursery sorted, can't wait to get our room finished so we can get cracking, so exciting!

My dsis is over from Italy next week with 2 of her dds, her baby's due 16th April but she's hoping to have it good Friday as her DH and other DD will also be over and we're having a big family get together, she's convinced she has some control over it (hmmm) so will report back if she succeeds :)
