Just had a BFP and wondered if anyone wanted to join me in the rollercoaster ride over the next few months

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
missbone · 15/02/2012 20:34

Richard, our posts have crossed. I feel exactly the same as you and agree entirely that the list should be scrapped during these testing times.

TheGrandOldDuke · 15/02/2012 20:37

I think starting a new list at the start of April might be best? Try and get through these more risky weeks.

I am constantly nauseous, and can't stomach the thought of many different foods. However, baked potato with beans and cheese is a winner. Will be a dead giveaway at work as I practically lived on them last pg too!!

missbone · 15/02/2012 20:39

MarvellousMarie, darling! Where are you? You o.k? xx

JumpingFrog · 15/02/2012 20:40

Hi ladies, can I join?
If it's ok, i would just like to stay in the background for a bit, got doc's appointment next week. Am just feeling a bit superstitious!

litlan · 15/02/2012 20:46

hi all, dont forget me! im due on the 10th! first baby! am so excited! nearly deciede wasnt going to come on anymore after readying lots of sad news on here last night, but im back!

orange juice seems to be doing the trick!
i cant wait o tell my mum on sunday! i cant believe ive managed not to tell her so far! am so excited!
hope everyone is ok tonight xx

Beeblebear · 15/02/2012 21:31

Wow I actually felt better seeing the list. It's felt rather gloomy in here recently and seemed like EVERYONE was having troubles with un-sticky beans. It was reassuring to see that there were many more people than I realized on this thread .

But that is just my two cents.

Sassee · 15/02/2012 21:40

I don't mind seeing the list, although I suspect my name is coming off. I am recognising my current symptoms and don't hold out much hope. I'll let you all know tomorrow.

For the record, I'd want to come off the list and fade into obscurity!

Sorry to be gloomy, don't feel excited any more x

marvellousmarie · 15/02/2012 22:29

Hi all! Smile

I've missed a whole bunch of mumsnet commotion! List or no list!? I have no strong feelings....

Well I've been so busy with work the last 2 days I'm shattered! Sad I feel so completely knackered it must be the developing bean inside! I've felt very sick at times and don't cope very well travelling, I still have thrush and boobs are achy! I also now have a cold so I'm not impressed!Balls!!

Thanks for asking after me missbone, how are you getting on? I missed OBEM tonight bugger, so will look online!

Well I cant keep my eyes open anymore! Hope you are all well Smile

missbone · 15/02/2012 22:39

Hang on in there, Sassee...sending positive vibes and big hugs xxx

lisbethsopposite · 15/02/2012 23:03

Sassee I really hope you're wrong about the symptoms. I see sawed between feeling good and crap on my first pregnancy but instead of enjoying the good times I worried. So I went between feeling sick or good/worried. I hope all is well - I will be waiting to hear. Sending positive vibes....

lisbethsopposite · 15/02/2012 23:04

Good idea about starting a list again later, I think.

Nearlycooked · 15/02/2012 23:30

Awe! This was a surreal moment seeing a thread for due dates in Oct 2012 - I just had my first baby in Oct 2011 and this thread reminded me that it is a year since conception!! What a roller coaster, life changing, fantastic 12 months!! Good luck to you all for October!!

Summer2008 · 16/02/2012 01:02

Hi ladies, sorry not been on much since last post. We have all had this sickness bug :(

My spotting stopped after a day at exactly. 4 weeks so hoping it was implantation. No actually sickness here just nausea, tiredness, and I am pretty sure my boobs might drop off soon!!

Anyhow a bit about me: I am 29 I have a DS who is 2 next week and is my absolute world I love that little man!

My due date is the 18th Oct so nearly 5 weeks now. Feel like I have known forever as had a super strong bfp at 10dpo!!

I most likely will not be a frequent poster until 2nd trimester, as moving, son birthday and want scan out the way etc. but I will read through and be an active lurker!!!

Anyone from the March 2010 bus on here :) just wandering if There are some familiar faces :)

I am so sorry to hear of some of the losses, I myself have been there and I can feel your pain :( sending big cyber hugs. It does get easier in time xxx

turnwest · 16/02/2012 07:35

So sorry sassee.

I agree with Richard and Missbone, let's scrap the list it's sad looking through it and seeing names of people who have lost, I m so worried at the moment I m too scared to add my name to the list in case I need to take it off again.

Littlepurpleprincess · 16/02/2012 08:04

Reading through this page has made me both cry and throw up! Please no more mention of jacket spuds!

I'll be thinking of Sassee today with everything crossed.

HampdenMum · 16/02/2012 08:19

I'VE GOT A STINKING HEAD COLD! :(
I'm 5 weeks, 1 day and asked the pharmacist if I can take paracetamol to shift the cold before it becomes fully blown but she said I can't. Don't want to be taking ANY risks now!

Has anyone got any suggestions on how I can cope with it - any natural remedies or medicine I can safely take?

xx

Littlepurpleprincess · 16/02/2012 08:22

You could make a honey and lemon drink

Squeeze 1 lemon into a mug
add a couple teaspoons of honey
fill with boiling water

If you've got some fresh rosemary add that to the cup and let it brew for 5mins, then remove it and drink!

milk · 16/02/2012 08:23

Sassee, will be thinking of you today. I pray you get the same good result as I did yesterday x

nenehooo · 16/02/2012 08:59

I was about to say honey and lemon too LPP! Had a nasty chest infection couple of weeks ago and I've literally been living on it since. I used manuka honey in mine, and chopped up ginger. And more recently honey lemon and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Might need to get up and have one now... Fingers crossed again for you sassee lots of positive thoughts coming your way. I would say with regards to the lists that I agree it's hard for those who have lost, and my heart goes out to them but aren't we on here for support through good and bad? We all know the risks in early pg but we should be able to celebrate together as well as grieve? Sending good wishes to all on here xxx

Littlepurpleprincess · 16/02/2012 09:49

Urgh I can't even keep water down this morning.

Angelico · 16/02/2012 09:51

Good luck this morning Sassee xo

HampdenMum my midwife told me paracetamol was fine - apparently it's the only thing they recommended you take. I think they say definitely steer clear of aspirin and ibuprofen (something to do with triggering contractions I think - although that might be in 3rd trimester). If you are desperate for a tablet paracetamol should be safe.

If you can do without tablets brill - I also recommend ginger. Holland and Barrett do a brill non alcoholic ginger wine that will blow your head off or else drop some fresh or crystallised ginger into hot water. But if you are really suffering paracetamol should be fine based on NHS advice. One post I found was from a lady who had been given paracetamol by the Early Preg Unit - so presumably safe enough.

Another link here - scroll down past the unnecessary terror at the start (we're talking paracetamol here peeps, not crack cocaine!). Quite useful stuff at the end about treating minor ailments:

Angelico · 16/02/2012 09:51

Virtual hug purpleprincess :(

Littlepurpleprincess · 16/02/2012 09:55

Thanks Angelico

DH keeps telling me its normal but I felt nothing like this with my first pregnancy. I'm worried. Sad

DameFlatYouLent · 16/02/2012 10:02

I was advised by my doctor to take paracetamol after my op on monday. I hope he's right!!!

missbone · 16/02/2012 10:15

Thinking of you, Sassee, this morning. Sending you even more positive vibes.

Off to the dentist now to get all the nasty nicotine cleaned from my teeth...now that i am a confirmed non-smoker!!! Grin
