Just had a BFP and wondered if anyone wanted to join me in the rollercoaster ride over the next few months

DameIceAndaSlicePlease So nice to hear I'm not on my own, I'm despairing, I can't keep up and I'm sure I'm not always eating the right stuff (the cherry bakewell that I have just demolished for example!!) How are you coping with it? What are you eating?

milk · 15/02/2012 15:43

Had my internal scan- all is good Grin Saw the head, body, and heart beat :D

mirikat · 15/02/2012 15:44

babydust if it makes you feel any better, today I ate a cupcake at about 3am, a slice of toast at 8, half a box of chocolates throughout the rest of the day, and a handful of crisps just now, (7pm over here)...I can't even blame this on MS, am just a terrible picky eater with appalling taste in sugary snacks!

Angelico · 15/02/2012 15:47

Yay Milk! That's brill! :o xo

BabyDustPlease · 15/02/2012 15:52

mirikat yes that does make me feel much better Smile

milk thats fab about your scan. I have an early scan next sat, how many weeks are you?

milk · 15/02/2012 15:58

BabyDustPlease, I am 7 weeks :)

But please be aware that they cannot always see the heart beat until 9 weeks!

BabyDustPlease · 15/02/2012 16:00

milk I will be 8 weeks when I go to mine. They said on the phone that they can see it from 6 weeks Hmm. Bet it was such a relief Smile

DameFlatYouLent · 15/02/2012 16:18

hooray, milk! That's very exciting. Hi again, dameice, good to see you back from the land of the vomit.

My food of choice at the moment is Percy Pigs. No idea why, the thought of them made me but DH bought me some and out of gratitude I choked one down. Instantly morning sickness was gone! I always knew they were magical.

Today I have mostly been eating pancakes. With lemon and lots of sugar, or maple syrup. It's funny, I'm craving salty, fatty things (mmm crisps) but they make me feel worse - really sweet stuff makes me feel better, even though the thought of it makes me feel worse.

I'll never understand hormones.

DameIceAndaSlicePlease · 15/02/2012 16:19

Yay milk that's wonderful! mirikat it doesn't get any less amazing in subsequent pregnancies- I'm on no 3 and an still unconvinced I'm actually pregnant despite 2 +ve tests and a host of symptoms! I always go into that scanning room at 12 weeks convinced they're going to say 'no ice there is no baby, it was all in you head and your weight gain is due to excessive scoffing'! Grin and on that subject last week all I wanted to eat was salty foods, this week I seem to have a craving for sweet carby foods Confused

DameIceAndaSlicePlease · 15/02/2012 16:22

Hey DameFlat yes we are finally vom free here Grin

Oooh Percy pigs....I have just sent DH out for bakewell tarts- damn whoever it was that mentioned them! Grin

DameFlatYouLent · 15/02/2012 16:24

I remember that moment as the ultrasound thingy approached my tummy, and DH there was holding his breath cos he didn't actually believe I was pregnant, and I was waiting for the sonographer to look at me like Hmm crazy cow, making pregnancy up... But there was a little baby! Oh it's so amazing. Have exactly the same feeling this time! Maybe I am a crazy cow Grin

DameFlatYouLent · 15/02/2012 16:26

It's dangerous, talking about food...anything suggested gets mulled over thoroughly in my mind, and either becomes immediately rejected, or my newest obsession that I must have this very instant or the world will come to an end. At least we can blame the hormones

Sassee · 15/02/2012 16:28

Yay milk chuffed to bits for you!

I hope I come away tomorrow just as pleased and excited! Please let me be that lucky!

Still no pain (good) but browny, pinky stuff (bad) although no blood (good).

nenehooo · 15/02/2012 16:29

Ah good news milk! Really pleased for you! limejelly I'm also dreading telling my headteacher, we have 1 on mat leave already, 1 about to go and now me... hopefully. In a tiny school with ofsted due any minute, so I feel this will not be good news Hmm Also have lesson observations starting in a few weeks so this really isn't a stress free start to my pregnancy... hoping that trying to grow a little person will give me some perspective... Liking your style dameflat just bought some percy pigs and friends for DH. I shall be eating all the molly moos myself Grin

nenehooo · 15/02/2012 16:31

And good luck sassee fingers crossed for you xxx

DameIceAndaSlicePlease · 15/02/2012 16:37

sassee fingers crossed it's just an implantation bleed or something. Apparently spotting brown blood is quite common in early pg. Here's hoping its the same for you Smile

mrsclairemarie · 15/02/2012 16:41

First of all sorry for all those who've lost over the last few days I really do understand how you all feel xxx
Congrats on the scan milk glad all is well :)
I've been driving my self crazy the last couple of days as I don't seem to have any symptoms I'm currently 7+1. Due to a MMC last year I'm totally paranoid about having no symptoms. I saw my GP today who I hoped would send me for an early scan but she didn't think it was necessary. So I've gone ahead and booked a private scan for this Sunday. I really hope everything is ok this time.

YompingJo · 15/02/2012 16:42

Right, I think I'm safe to post without putting my foot in it now... Blush

Very pleased for milk, great news. Fx for Sassee, I'm sure yours will be good too. Welcome to all the new posters as well - there are so many of us!

So sorry to bee, it's so sad reading this board and hearing people's sad news. Makes me feel very scared, and very lucky, and very apprehensive, all at the same time.

Went to docs yesterday, she told me I am a little early for my "booking in" appointment (I'm 5 + 2 today), and I needed an ante natal appointment in 2 weeks time. I got given books and leaflets though, including Emma's Diary and a little sticker book which I am very excited about (I love stationary and stickers!).

Still not really getting any symptoms although I went for a 5k run today and felt very sick after a fast finish, but that seems to have eased. I didn't like it though, I am no longer looking forward to MS!

To the person who asked about how this has affected everyone's sex life - it has had a great effect on mine (especially boobs being slightly more sensitive - before, DH could have been groping them for England and unless I was looking I wouldn't have known it Shock), I seem to be a bit voracious at the moment (god, sorry, probably much TMI Blush) - but that could be because it's half term and I'm feeling relaxed. If it's still happening next week, it's the hormones!

Right, that's my whopper of a catch-up post for the last 3 days. Hoping everyone is well.

Oh, and PS, Limejelly, you have to have told your employer by the 15th week before you are due - but if you keep it quiet you obviously won't be able to request time off for ante-natal appointments, and also I think MS might be quite hard to hide in a school, especially mine which is full of women who are obsessed about everyone's preganancy status! Bearing all this in mind, I told my head last week.

BabyDustPlease · 15/02/2012 17:15

DameFlat that was me on the cherry bakewells...sorry!!

missbone · 15/02/2012 17:16

Sassee, thinking of you tomorrow. Remind us of the time again? x

DameIceAndaSlicePlease · 15/02/2012 17:21

Don't worry Babydust I'll let you off just this once Grin

BabyDustPlease · 15/02/2012 17:35

BabyDustPlease · 15/02/2012 17:41
