Thanks Poppy and panpipe I know it won't be an easy conversation but I need to tell her before I start making it more public. I am/was so involved with supporting her up to this point that I just don't want her to feel like she is losing that, literally my first thought when I got my BFP was her.

Forgot who mentioned they had a scan today but pleased you got to hear the heartbeat with the Doppler!

Not sure about the whole work thing... Went back after dd because I knew I wanted another baby (so good for mat leAve) and was owed some bonuses this year (and right now every penny helps as we'll need a house instead of our flat soon) Luckily our mat package is generous and does not require me to repay anything if I don't go back. Also, I hAve really enjoyed being back at work (4 days a week) ideally I'd return part time 2 days in the office, 2 days working at home.... But who knows if they'll agree to that! The BIG downside for me is nursery fees (we live nr canary wharf so v expensive) which would be a substantial chunk of my salary for two! if I can work at home two days a week I'd get granny and nanny to help with childcare so save a bit!

Thanks poppy told my boss today and all fine. Was a bit embarrassed as so close to my last mat leAve but she understands.

Keeping it low key on fb. Last time I did have a profile pic of me with large bump but only q late on after I'd told my close friends. This time I won't, we had a friend whose two yo died of cancer shortly after she had her third mc.

Don't know how to do that...plus I felt guilty about moaning and am happy to say that it has finally dropped off the first page! It's all good. General consensus was that I'm not being too unreasonable, but I still felt bad. Can't lie or be mean for long! All good now :)

It really can! TBH, although she hasn't even heard of MN, I was freaked that the person I moaned about might come across it. That would be hideous!!

Just found it, you're not bu. A shower and hen seem ott to moi... And the heels?! Ouch.

Talking of showers what does everyone think of baby showers? I had one with dd which was lovely, so nice to see my friends altogether. I thought you're only meant to do them with dc1 ( if you want to) but a friend was asking me to do one for this baby which I thought was against the etiquette?

I love baby showers! I think it's a lovely thing to do, be it for DC1 or DC6! You still need things for each baby and I think it's nice to celebrate the arrival of a new life (cheesy but true!).

I'm not going to announce it on FB because as others said, want to do it face to face. I MIGHT subtly leak the news in a few months but will play that by ear.

I don't want a baby shower really as we had a big wedding last year but I would like a girls night out in London with my bestest friends and meet up for supper etc before the baby is born.

Off to watch Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. Cold rubbish tonight plus feeling exhausted.

Morning everyone! How are you all today? I feel shattered. I think I could easily go back to bed, but I promised to go and see my sister so better crack on and do that.

I'm due back to work on Monday but have a sneaking suspicion the DR might sign me off again. I've still been quite poorly. Depending how I feel, I think I'll just say I am ok to go back but take it easy and see how it goes. I don't think I could face a 5th week at home alone!
