Hi everyone, think I've finally caught up! Welcome to everyone who has joined since I seriously posted last!

The pasturised brie sounds good, but I've gone off cheese this time round! I'm wanting carbs, pure and simple!

I'm interested in the FB group - how do I find it?

MW appt, I have my 15-16 week one tomorrow, and my scan in a couple of weeks' time (I think?!)

I don't know how everyone else is feeling, but I'm still not getting that pg vibe at the moment! I know I'm putting on weight, as my jeans are fitting again, and my bust is very achey and fuller, but other than that (and the crippling SPD) I'm just not getting it! lol I'm still waiting to feel Pickle move properly, I think. I get the odd flutter, but it seems to be more gas than anything else. I'm sure by now I was feeling DD and possibly DS move.

On a brighter note, one of my best friends is pg too! She's 7 weeks(ish) behind me, and is living (teaching) in Kazakhstan! (sp?!) From what I understand she'll be back in the UK for the summer, and is staying till LO is born, and her ML is complete :) Sooo happy, as I didn't think I'd be seeing her much in the run up to/after the birth. I'm so pleased for her, and so excited.

That sounds bad! I'm excited about her pg, but feeling morose/distant from mine... oh dear. I sincerely hope this doesn't hint at how I'll feel about this one. I had terrible PND with DS, and it took me years to get it diagnosed and treated.

I'm in much need of retail therapy too, but haven't got the pennies - sigh. Oh well. I am due some money soon though from a little job I did, so hopefully I can treat myself to something.

JParkson · 20/02/2012 14:09

Oh, I forgot (again!)

16 weeks today

glittershoes · 20/02/2012 14:17

Hello all! I had a packed weekend which involved seeing my bestest lovely uni friends (all very excited about bump and not letting me do anything), stressing about how we are going to get all packed and moved within three weeks, crying that we are moving at all (I know it is needed but I do love our little flat) and looking after my parent's dog.

We are staying at their house which is lovely (huge and big garden) but does mean a bit of a commute and living out of suitcases so a tad sleepy!

Interesting about the folic acid, I am still taking mine but will ask about it at my midwife appointment next week.

So desperate to look pregnant now rather than slightly tubby. I have really grown in the last week and now work trousers are a tad tight. May invest in some bump bands!

I have also become obsessed with scowering ebay for nice maternity wear. It is so hard to know what I will want though or how much!

I suppose the essentials list is:

Jeans (more than one pair?)
Work trousers
Tops (variety of long/short sleeves, how many?)

And that is where I stop! Anyone have any suggestions?

JParkson · 20/02/2012 14:23

Ugh! If I had a brain I'd be dangerous!

I started back my choir practices on Saturday. Thoroughly enjoyed it, even though they are 4 hours long. DD comes with me, she's kind-of like the choir mascot!

We're working towards 4 concerts this year, 2 spring and 2 winter/Christmas.

Now, that I enjoyed!

hamncheese · 20/02/2012 17:04

Ughhhhh anyone else getting 2 day headaches, every.two.days. Like a headache for 2 days, 2 days feeling better, then a new headache that lasts another 2 days and so on and so on?

Really getting me down. I feel good on the other days then it hits again and I feel like I have the flu and can't think straight from the pain. Tried cocodamol in vein and it does nothing :( :( :(

Hope you are all feeling better than this

(15+1)

PoppyS34 · 20/02/2012 17:05

Glitter would recommend bump bands, they're ace :o

I'm on Ebay searching for my second pair of maternity jeans, I think they'll be the most useful things. All the rest of my clothes still fit fine, luckily I'm a big fan of non-figure hugging tunics and leggings!

Is anyone else still needing to go to the loo a lot? All my pregnancy emails/newsletters/apps say it should be easing off now, but I'm still peeing for England. Blush Just worried in case it's a UTI I'm unaware off...

Hey ho, if there's not one thing to wonder about, there' another!! :)

JP I felt like that for a while, but as my tum expands I'm gradually feeling it a bit more...

Angel786 · 20/02/2012 19:12

Hope you fed better soon ham

The bump is becoming unmistakable am telling boss tomorrow Blush v worried as we don't get on...! And I've only Bern back three mths...

PoppyS34 · 20/02/2012 19:51

Good luck Angel hope it goes better than you expect!

Hamncheese I get headaches (not two day ones though), but generally it's if I haven't eaten properly... that's probably not much help though...

WelshLadyCDF · 20/02/2012 19:51

glitter new look do some wide legged black work trousers i don't think they broke the bank, they go under the bump and have elastic that you can pull in or let out. I haven't got jeans I have some smartish black jersey trousers again wide legged with a loose waistband.
Mum got me a nice jersey dress from mamas and papas as a treat I think I will wear it with leggings as tights seem too 'tight'!
I don't have any comfy knickers (tmi?) tho!
Hope we all have a good week, I have a blood test for MS on Friday.

WelshLadyCDF · 20/02/2012 19:53

hamncheese yes! I get those headaches I think it is either something I eat (artificial sweeteners) or not enough water.

0FrillyKnickers0 · 20/02/2012 20:17

I've started getting headaches too :( I think it's cause I'm not drinking enough though. My fault.

Are bump bands the same as belly bands? Belly bands are the ones that button on to your jeans and a bit of material hangs behind the zip so you can hide the fact that your top button is undone?!

0FrillyKnickers0 · 20/02/2012 20:18

WelshLady get yourself some comfy knickers!! I have stopped wearing thongs cause where my wibble bump is developing, it cuts in and is really uncomfortable. Nice comfy pants now :)

MrsMigginslovespies · 20/02/2012 21:18

Ham really hope you feel better soon. I too get a fair number (always have) and they're miserable.

JParkson v jealous of your choir. I love singing and was a member of one in London for years and years but can't find a good one now that's not filled with little old ladies where I've moved to in Scotland. Boo.

Now. A TMI warning coming up...: anyone else have REALLY REALLY itchy breasts??! My god, it's driving me mad. I'm using nice moisturiser, nothing new. Sorry, had to share!

0FrillyKnickers0 · 20/02/2012 21:24

MrsM! Me too! Well...I find my nipples really trying not to giggle get itchy!

Has anyone noticed extra hair on their tummy? I noticed I seem to be turning into an ape. Well, it's not that bad but it's never been noticeable before!

capecath · 20/02/2012 21:38

glitter I have some super comfy leggings with a large waist that comes up high and over the bump from last pregnancy which I love. Came from Mothercare. I like to wear with large tops or floaty dresses, some of which will work for after pregnancy too :)

poppy yep still peeing loads.. but then I seem to be drinking more fluids anyway...

Really wanted to share with you all a lovely sandwich combo which I am finding incredibly satisfying for this pregnancy appettite - cheese, ham and hummus (note, LOTS of hummus!) on fresh brown bread. YUM. Recommend!

PoppyS34 · 20/02/2012 21:54

Well, to add to the tmi pregnancy symptoms :o I seem to have turned into a snake, despite using loads of moisturiser, my skin is SO dry. Very weird, but it's not itchy (yet!), and I've not noticed any extra hair.

I seem to be living off of ham and cheese sandwiches at the moment, so I will definitely try some hummus, sounds lovely.

frilly bump bands are like boob tubes which go over the top of jeans, so they cover the top completely, and you can't see that the jeans are open underneath it. Great idea.

MrsMigginslovespies · 20/02/2012 22:04

Yes with the itchy nippples Frilly! Driving me crazy. DH thinks it's hilarious...!

Also with you on the hummous Poppy. Have always been a fan, but do enjoy it at the mo, with carrot sticks or boring old oatcakes. Also have v dry skin which is wierd (but not itchy!).

0FrillyKnickers0 · 20/02/2012 22:04

Maybe I'm just doing the reverse of so called evolution...bugger.

I want a bump band now!

Angel786 · 20/02/2012 22:22

frilly new look do a pack of three bump bands for a tenner. eBay also has them.

Forgot to say whoever liked the name Ellie, I totally agree Grin that's my dd's name.

Thanks poppy just going to google telling work and pregnant now!

Ooh lovely! Thanks Angel!

0FrillyKnickers0 · 20/02/2012 22:28

About to post in AIBU...advice welcome x

hamncheese · 21/02/2012 08:04

Thanks all. Feels wee bit better this morning.

Forgot to update about the thing which a few (me included) were getting after eating with the racing heart and dizziness. GP had no idea - did ask a whole bunch of questions to rule stuff out - but has me getting a blood test for thyroid as apparently it can go wonky in pregnancy. Failing anything conclusive there has offered a 24hr heart rate monitor but doubting that'll show anything as these episodes are not too often and other times heart is normal as far as I can tell. Don't know if this is helpful... probably not!

MrsMigginslovespies · 21/02/2012 08:27

Angel twas me as a diplomatic shortening of Elettra in order not to offend Stepgranny.

Tired, full of cold and uninspired with work today. Meh. Will snap out of it once I make pancakes later!

Wowzers, it's been busy on here! :)

I have the bump bands from new look and I love them! They just look like you have a long vest top on. A customer at work asked me the other day where I got my nice long top from lol. I had to tell them it's just an extension to hide the fact I can't do my work trousers up. My next purchase is definitely going to have to be some maternity trousers though. Im 15+3 now and my backside is catching up with my tummy at a rather alarming rate Wink.

I have a very strong suspision I am going to be told we are expecting a boy and I have absolutely no idea with regards to a name. I desperately love the name George but my MIL called her cat George and I also love Samuel but a good friend of mine has a little boy called Samuel. Boys names just aren't as much fun as girls names :( if it is a girl then she will have about 12 names lol. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)
