Well, I'm naughty but just seem to order stuff from catalogues and have to send them back! I ordered 3 things from Isabella Olivier. I just think I'll get more value for money from their essential trousers, wrap top and aline skirt, so we'll see what they look like!

SpringChicken · 24/02/2004 10:02

Must admit the A Line skirt does look very nice - as do the under bump trousers but i just can't justify spending that sort of money on maternity wear

Got some of my new bits on today - actual feel really comfy apart from my bra keeps digging into my ribs God, i am feeling sorry for myself today aren't I?

Quackers · 25/02/2004 10:15

Morning my little 'bump chums'!!!!

I know Jems it is alot, but I have hardly anything as I keep sending things back that haven't fitted properly. I think on the web it says that the skirt can be worn after pgcy, so that's why I got it. The trousers and top just sort of made their way into my order

How is everyone doing?? My scan is a week on Friday, feels like ages away!! Have had awful stitches in my sides when getting out of car and turning over in bed, now getting worse. Hope it's not that SPD thingy majig!!!

Any scans this week??

chickpea · 25/02/2004 14:12

HI All

Quacks - what is that SPD thing?

I had my scan yesterday. All is the right size and shape and everything is looking normal. The pictures are really good. They also confirmed (as far as they are able to) that 'IT' is in fact a SHE!!!

My DD was whooping for joy "Oh Mummy maybe it will fit into my dolls clothes" but my DS was appropriately disgusted. We said "but Elliot perhaps we'll have another and that might be a boy". He said "yes Mummy but it might also be a girl and then what?!"

I have to say I had no clever retort.

It is very strange knowing what you are having. I don't think that you realise how having another will affect the dynamics of the family until you know what sex it is.

Really struggling with girls names - a boy would definitely have been Gabriel or Ethan but we totally disagree on girls names. My DD was 3 weeks old when we finally decided on Georgia. This one will probably be at school before we decide on a name!:0

SpringChicken · 25/02/2004 14:22

Wonderful news Chick Were you hoping for a girl or were you not bothered?

Really getting quite fed up that i can't feel this baby moving very often - i go days now without feeling a thing and then feel a pathetic little flutter - Bring on the kicks and punches .........................How i know i will regret saying that at a later date

Quackers · 25/02/2004 14:37

You''ll regret it Jems!!! Not really it's fab, just keeps you awake when the baby wants to play football at 3 am!! It used to press on my bladder and the odd elbow or knee would make me want to wee all the time!!
Chickpea That's fab news!!! Glad all is well though!!!
SPD, I only found about through another thread. It the pelvic bones softening too much and causing discomfort in varying degrees.

SpringChicken · 25/02/2004 14:54

I was really worried about SPD up until about 2 weeks ago. I had been suffering since virtually the beginning of this pregnancy with terrible pains in my hip - to the extent that i couldn't sit in the same position for more than 10 minutes or my hip would go all stiff and lock up.

However, this seems to have just disappeared recently - was thinking about it this morning and realised i hadn't had any pains for a long time now. Don't think it could be SPD as surely now i would still be suffering but heard SPD can be excrutiatingly (sp) painful.

Think you can a belt which is a bit like a weigthlifters belt - pulls everything back into place i think

sweetkitty · 25/02/2004 16:08

I've been suffering from SPD for about 2 weeks now since 15 weeks. It's OK in the morning but gets worse throughout the day, I knew nothing about it until I came on here. Turning in bed at night's the worst the pain wakes you up when you're asleep. At least it's not painful when you are lying down still. I don't know how those of you with a couple of toddlers running about manage it. DP been hopeless with the sympathy all he says is "at least you weren't sick at the start" I'm hoping it doesn't get worse and the bump gets bigger - wishful thinking I know!

Quackers · 25/02/2004 16:49

Yes It's just so painful in bed and getting out of the car and the bad thing is there's nothing you can do about it! I know some people really do suffer and can't walk or anything so I know it;s not that bad but bad enough. Oh the joys!
Otherwise I feel really good and proud of bump getting comments now! IN fact I think I'll have another creme egg!

littlerach · 27/02/2004 08:36

I have my scan date through, mon 8th, not long now!!
Had a lovely shopping trip with mum, bought two lovely dresses for weekend away in May, also some bits and pieces. And DH bought me a Prada handbag for my b.day, made me feel quite glam, even though I have a belly!!!
Did anyone else have snow? We had loads of it!! In the past I would have been ever so excited, but am just worried about falling or crashing car now!!

madgirl · 27/02/2004 14:25

Hello all, had my 21 week scan this morning. Really nice sonographer, let me listen to the heartbeat as well as see it as I had been anxious about feeling little movement compared with DS. All A OK, no obvious problems, she?s re-scanning at 36 weeks as I have a low-lying placenta but aside from that, I feel like I can really go mooching round mothercare now

SpringChicken · 27/02/2004 16:20

Lovely news MG It's so nice seeing you little bubba up there on the big screen.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend - off to pub tonight - have been leading more of a social life since i've been pregnant than i did before...........what's going on

dinosaur · 27/02/2004 16:26

fantastic news madgirl - been thinking about you

have a lovely weekend

bossykate · 27/02/2004 17:34

that's great news, madgirl, congratulations

littlerach · 27/02/2004 18:18

Very pleased for you.

SpringChicken · 01/03/2004 10:22

Morning Everyone, How are we all doing ?

I'm doing OK, 21+2 now - think i must definitely be getting Braxton Hicks - for the last 2 nights i have woken up in the night several times and much stomach has just been rock solid! It scared me a bit at first but came to the conclussion yesterday that it was probably BH.
Also have terrible trapped wind - gives me a horrible tummy ache
Stil no definite movements as yet - keep giving the baby a bit of a poke but nothing - Ho hum, shouldn't be long now

Any scans this week?

Helsbels · 01/03/2004 10:34

Had my scan on Thursday - everything was fine. Madgirl, I had a llp with ds1 and it moved by 36 weeks. Most of them do. Woke up on my tummy this morning again. Hope the baby is not too squashed! Glad all are ok.

Quackers · 01/03/2004 10:44

Hi! I'm 18.5 weeks and had a couple of BH's too! It's weird, last time I had that sensation I was in labour but obviously with pain! so brings back memories.
Glad all scan have been good so far!!! Got mine on Friday afternoon! Scared! I've not had movement either Jems much, just surprises me now and again with a few kicks and then nothing! Had my doppler out though and made sure. Just think they get into positions we can't feel them as they're not that big and tubby yet

SpringChicken · 01/03/2004 11:06

Glad everything went well Helsbels - did u find out the sex?

Are you going to quacks?

Sonographer said when i had my scan that the baby's feet were really low down and close to my bladder and his/her head was up by my belly button - did also say that the baby's spine was against my belly button - maybe that's why i'm not feeling alot of movement then, maybe the baby is kicking and punching away at the inside of my as apposed to the outside IYSWIM
Could easily see on the scan though how much the baby was moving and sonographer kept commenting on how energetic he/she was

Helsbels · 01/03/2004 11:13

no - resisted temptation to ask sex!! You'll be fine Quackers. All for one and one for all on this thread!!

Quackers · 01/03/2004 11:25

Thanks!! No I don't want to know either, but they don't tell you anyway here!!

I could feel the baby's feet tickling my bladder on Sat, I kept needing the toilet! It was really funny! Tried to tickle it back to get it to move but it wouldn't!!

littlerach · 01/03/2004 13:45

I keep waking up on my tummy, does it hurt the baby, or am I being neurotic?
