Planning to see how the next week goes before going back to nursery. DS is 2 years and 9 months. Can wee and poo in potty, knows when he's going and tells us, and is going an hour or two between wees so I think he's ready. One accident so far.

@Grandpoplar I will add them to the shopping list

SheepSocks · 04/01/2020 17:58

@Grandpoplar sorry my phone posted it before I had finished. Thank you for the suggestion.

Overall a good day- 1 wee on the sofa, covers in the wash too! Other than that she is prompting us and we made it to the park. Not sure I dare risk soft play yet

SnugglySnerd · 04/01/2020 18:34

Another dry day hear. Still no poo though.

Also dd woke up last night crying and clawing at her pull up saying it hurt. Her pull up was a bit wet and she was a bit sore down below. Put on nappy cream and fresh pull up and she eventually settled but was restless all night. Soreness all gone today and will put cream on before bed. She is very independent and insists on wiping herself, I suspect she isn't doing it very well so I've intervened today and wiped again after she had had ago. Fingers crossed we all get more sleep tonight!

18:30 and our first accident of the day! I'll take that!! GrinGrin

loveautum · 04/01/2020 18:57

Hi all, much better day 1 accident on 4 pees in the potty with lot's of encouragement. Day 4 for us and by far the best day considering day 2 she was holding it all in and day 1 5 accidents.

Question to all - she is just has a pull up nappy at night. After bath I put the nappy on and jammies on as normal, but then she has a poo doesn't even alert me so I need to keep her bum naked and take the potty to the room as think she is just waiting for nappy so she can do her poo.

I'm also going to wake her in the morning to try and catch her morning wee as well and she would always poo first thing too so need to catch both before it's to late. Is anyone doing this as well waking little ones up? I've been pretty relaxed up until now, but now I'm seeing progress and she needs the practice as she like a little camel holding her wee 😂

loveautum · 04/01/2020 18:58

@blckcurt excellent 😚

loveautum · 04/01/2020 18:59

@SnugglySnerd sounds like it's going great also 👍🏻

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 04/01/2020 18:59

We keeping nappy off until literally bed time- after bath it’s pjs no underwear and first thing we have altered between keeping pull up on for breakfast and taking it off first thing

loveautum · 04/01/2020 19:06

@OnlyFoolsnMothers ok that's good to know. We don't have a long bedtime especially now (probably about 10/15mins in total a few books) as she is super tired and doesn't nap in the day any longer she is 2.4 years.

I think I need to let her charge round without a nappy with the potty upstairs in her room and try and catch that last poo of the day. I think that's a good point nappy on before leaving the room even so the last thing xx

SnugglySnerd · 04/01/2020 19:37

Apologies for typos in my previous post!

Loveautumn I am getting her pull up off and sitting her on the potty as soon as she wakes up. I was more relaxed with dd1 about that and she still isn't in the habit of a morning wee, she isn't dry at night either, I suspect she wakes up and wees before she's properly awake so I don't want dd2 to have the same habit.

2 days without a poo now. Hopefully one will happen tomorrow!

loveautum · 04/01/2020 19:42

@SnugglySnerd that's good to know. Yes I'd like to catch that morning wee I think I'll have to wake her up to be sure. Luckily I'm a morning person, so I find that I'm up around 20 mins before DD.

newhousestress · 04/01/2020 20:06

Hi @literallychristraeger !

Reasonable day only one accident until teatime when for some reason he was very irritable and clearly needed a wee but wouldn't sit on the potty! We tried chocolate, TV, other bribes and were contemplating putting a nappy on but then he ran into the hall and peed all over the stairs! All part of the process clearly but 🤷🏼‍♀️

We were dry all of today (we put him back in a nappy for naps).

We did have a poo in his pants, but I’d rather that than holding on.

itakephotos · 04/01/2020 21:00

First dry day today and we have been out all day. What's working for us is taking her to the the potty every 2 hours and she always produces! It seems that she'll only say she needs a wee if were at home without many distractions but I'll take that if that works for a while.

Accidents have been happening later on in the afternoon/evening which is understandable.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 05/01/2020 11:12

Morning all, pee and a poo so far today-
I’m dreading the next pet of the day but I have to go to Ikea...wish me luck

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 05/01/2020 11:13

Next part of the day *

newhousestress · 05/01/2020 11:33

We've been out to a garden which has shop, cafe, toilets, sat on the potty in the cafe and did nothing but then wet himself just as we were leaving. He can't do the 'just in case' wee yet and actually initiating it seems hit and miss!

DH is taking us out for the last supper - our last treat before going back to work. As we are going out to eat should I put DD in a pull up? Or shall I take the risk?

newhousestress · 05/01/2020 14:24

Hope IKEA went well!

We're going out for tea too, will probably just go for normal pants if he's been before we go out.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 05/01/2020 14:39

All back- granted it was a quick trip, but I was able to get a wee from her before we left and so stayed dry. I actually might have preferred a wee to the almighty tantrum she threw amongst the bedding Hmm

literallychristraeger · 05/01/2020 15:02

Two accidents and two pees in the potty today so far, one accident at the park. Think I tempted fate a little too much and we stayed out a bit too long

YukoandHiro · 05/01/2020 15:04

I'm afraid to report I've gone back into nappies. She had no idea what was going on and was getting distressed. Going to revisit in a few weeks

SnugglySnerd · 05/01/2020 16:46

Mixed day here. Couple of accidents and poo in pants but also she told us she needed to wee earlier so I think we're getting there. We haven't been as on top of her today with sitting her on the potty regularly which probably explains the accidents.
