Hello all,
Hope everyone is good. No energy for a big catch up but can anyone help with my other thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/997297?pagingOff=1#20395733

Avo your dd1 has the same birthday as my brother, I was always jealous of him having a nice warm summer birthday, whereas I had a silly December birthday and got joint presents. My number 2 will be due in August, still cannot be as bad as poor DS1 with his xmas day birthday.

Where is Rubes I hope she is ok!

SummerLightning · 06/07/2010 13:26

OOps on my link I think I got it the wrong way round
here

KiwiPanda · 06/07/2010 16:16

Morning all! Not a terribly restful night what with DD greeting daddy home with a spot of teething but never mind! This morning I am having a facial, have already run a couple of miles and then to work. The pampering commences!

I actually didn't let the old leg hairs go forest-like - I have a bit of a weird thing about this as I swear it makes me itchy!! Also, I did lots of exercise so DH has come back to a wife who now fits into all her skinniest pre-pregnancy clothes. Isn't he lucky . mind you being alone for a month I had not much more to do onthe evenings but epilate and exercise ...

KiwiPanda · 06/07/2010 16:18

That post from this morning has been hanging on my iPhone for hours

Crap crap crap dashing to nursery as they called to say DD has temp so has to come home. I'm supposed to be going on my spa trip tomorrow and DH is working crap crap crap

EasilyConfusedIndith · 06/07/2010 17:21

Excerwhatnow? Nope none of that going on around here

I bet she is only running a temp because of teething, surely nursery can't make her stay home because of teeth?

KiwiPanda · 06/07/2010 17:32

They always do if it's over 38. Not alas teething, apparently there's a bug going round...

Veggiemummy · 06/07/2010 18:24

Avo our first borns have the same birthdates. Quite freaky as they also have similar personalities. It is a problem as not only is it during the holiday you have to get everything organised & invites out before school breaks up. Over here his birthday falls the week school goes back. There was no way I was organised enough to sort something by last week so he will have his birthday a couple of weeks after school goes back. It's his 5th birthday this year. I'd love to do a beach party but just never know how the weather will turn out. A friends son turns 3 a week later and we are thinking of doing a joint party. Mainly because we are lazy cows, & also strength in numbers.

Kiwi that is incredibly inconvenient of your DD to get sick now but in view of your last months sacrifice I think DH should step up.

Trace & JJ I cross posted with you last night. Trace I didn't know you did linguistics. What made you give it up to do nursing? I wish I'd done linguistics I really find it all very interesting. Oh bugger DS2 is kicking off.

KiwiPanda · 06/07/2010 18:27

I know! How very selfish of her, right?

She actually seems fine and if she's no worse I think I'm fine to go. DH has taken the day off anyway, so fingers crossed...

Veggiemummy · 06/07/2010 18:39

Ordinarily I would find it quite difficult to leave DS2 if he was sick but if I'd looked after him solely for a month and had the chance to go a long way away for a spa day I wouldn't think twice about leaving him. It's just annoying because you'll be worried now. Just tell DH to come on here if he's worried or just go to GP.

Spot what's going on with your house.

Summer will go look at your thread now.

Lady 6 weeks to go woohoo. Also if your worried about the date of your CS could you chat to your consultant.

KiwiPanda · 06/07/2010 19:02

Well after some calprofen her temp is normal so I think she'll be fine w DH. Touch wood!

EasilyConfusedIndith · 06/07/2010 19:10

She's be fine, you get yourself to some serious pampering

Another linguist here along with Spanish and Russian. Thinking of going in an entirely different direction but if someone would pay me to do a masters or phd in linguisics I would love to just for the geeky enjoyment of it.

JollyBear · 06/07/2010 19:55

Hello everyone,

Oooh spot I'm jealous you went to see Rufus! Was it at Kenwood house? We went last year. Do you have his new album? I'm finding it rather sombre and hard to get into. I prefer his overblown operatic stuff!

kiwi Hurray for your DH being back!! Hope you have a fantastic break, you deserve it. DH has been away since yesterday, returning late tomorrow and I'm pulling my hair out already.

trace P dancing sounds very sweet. The physio appointment sounds like it went well. Anyone else start doing their ppelvic floors whilst reading about them? Just me? Oh .

beans DD fed every two hours too. I think that went on till she went to every four hours which I thought was a bit odd. Is your mum around for a while to lend a hand?

After the tipping out of her cot incident, we tried removing the side of DD's cot to make it into a bed at the weekend. She loved it, climbing in and out of bed, until she realised we wanted her to sleep there when she started to sob. We tried and tried to show her what to do but she was almost hysterical. Eventually I put the side back on and once back in a grobag in the newly restored cot she was fine. Won't be trying that again for a while!

Veggiemummy · 06/07/2010 19:56

There you go, just leave DH a note on when to give what (& how not to overdose) and it'll be all good. When do you leave?

So excited, the Oranje Jongens just scored and by an amazing goal. Hope they can keep it up now.

Hello everyone - flying visit while I do me hexercises.

Jam, sorry sorry but I'm going to have to can this Friday as my sis is coming down to stay. Am busy for the next few weeks (probably till mid August or so) but will definitely be in touch when I've got a free Friday coming up. There's a big pot of tea and a couple of iced buns somewhere with our names on them.

Oh and Effie this is the campsite we went to in Mersea. Oh and on camping LadyT would love to check out your friends' recommendation.

Right I'm off - loads & loads more I would love to chat about but these kegels have just about finished me off. Bed for me. Night night.

KiwiPanda · 06/07/2010 21:06

3-1 Veggie!! SO excited. I'm wearing my orange shirt. Actually, I have two Holland shirts so I'm wearing the slightly less luridly orange one

Veggiemummy · 06/07/2010 21:27

Are you saving the extra lurid one for the final! It's going to go mental around here in a minute. DS2 has already been woken once by local vuvuselaring. So exciting, I've never supported a team in the final let alone lived in one! Oh hope I didn't speak too soon!

OP posts:
KiwiPanda · 06/07/2010 21:28

Woo hoo! Last time I was this excited was before the 1988 European Championship final. I was 11 and spent HOURS colouring in a massive Dutch flag. Wonder if DD will help me do the same on Sunday

Right all being well off to jersey to be pampered at 6.30am tomorrow...!

Veggiemummy · 06/07/2010 21:29

Wooooohoooooooo the fireworks are going off, those horn things are all over the place, bring on the final, I hope it's Germany.

EffiePerine · 06/07/2010 21:48

Where is Rubes? RUBES!! Do you think things might have kicked off early? Anyone remember when her CS was planned?

Trace: I am also kegeling like mad. Thanks for the reminder! Hope the exercises work.

Avocadoes · 06/07/2010 22:01

Yes, I am worried about Rubes too. RUBES WHERE ARE YOU?????? Lady, do you have her number to text?

DD1's nickname is Van Bronkhorst so we are v pleased with the result and in particular the first goal.

Avocadoes · 06/07/2010 22:03

Meant to also say to Jolly that my DD1 had the exact same reaction to leaving her cot. She ended up staying in it until she was nearly 3!

Veggiemummy · 06/07/2010 22:10

Pubie is booked in for the 26th I think. Gosh I hope she is ok. She has had a lot of stress with her DB etc hope it hasn't caused any problems. She wasn't going away this past weekend was she?

Avo that's so cute that you call her Van Bronkhorst, why is that? We used to call DS1 Mafanway(sp) when he was a baby after the character in Little Britain.

The win tonight is a little bitter sweet, one of my favs for the Tour crashed out today. Frank Schleck broke his collarbone and is out. I really like the Schleck brothers they have been improving the last few years and looked good for this year. Apart from them being quite good I like them because they are brothers. Is that soppy?

OP posts:
Avocadoes · 06/07/2010 22:19

DH christened her Van Brinkhorst because she kicked so much in the womb. For some reason it stuck.

LadyThompson · 06/07/2010 22:34

Young Indith, I would love to put my feet up but there ain't enough hours in the day. I am seriously considering keeping a time chart for a couple of weeks, so I can see where the hours go. I need to exert better control over my time!

Hey, I'm glad the Dutch went through. Oh, and Veggie, I have already told the consultant my concerns but I get another scan at 34 weeks for some reason (had it last time, from memory it just seems to be so they can estimate how heavy the baby might be) and she is going to revisit the cs date then. Which seems totally sensible. Oh, and my rash is nearly gone! Yay.

Avo - actually, the house doesn't look as nice as I hoped I think one's mind's eye is always more glam. Mind you though, once the kitchen is in and the living room has had some attention (both are still hellholes) I think it will make a vast difference. The downstairs shower room is looking good though and the upstairs bathroom is taking shape too. Anyway, I really hope you have a better night. Is it all cool with the nanny now?

Have a lovely lovely spa trip, Kiwi. Oooh, what treatments are in store? I'm tres impressed by your exercising. I do wonder if I will ever see size 10 again.

It's funny, isn't it JB, that cot sides make such a difference. I think my DD is a long way away from a big girl's bed as well so we won't be trying it for yonks.

DD is gorgeous and I love her tons but she has really been pushing my buttons today. Feel a bit guilty about that, but I am only flesh and blood I s'pose. And carrying her around is getting increasingly tiring for me. Also, the food malarkey doesn't help.

Where IS Rubes?

New washing machine is coming tomorrow morn - between 7am and 11am. 7am!! Bit unearthly, isn't it? It's so full of crap in here and we've got to clear a space for the blokes to take the old machine out and bring the old one in. I haven't really got the energy. I haven't stopped today (well, until I started writing this post) and I still feel like I've not achieved anything of note.

Nighty night.
