I see I crossposted with loads of people asking where Rubes is. I am loath to text her now as it's late but I will deffo text her in the morning. I'm worried now!

Rubena · 06/07/2010 22:45

I'm here I'm here - I just wanted to quickly post this - now I will write a bit more

LadyThompson · 06/07/2010 22:48

Phew! Was just about to fasten the seachlight to my hat to head the search party

zoejeanne · 06/07/2010 22:51

I can?t believe how gross page 1 of the new thread is . Vom in mouth, Pubes pubes, girls doing boy wees, Spot?s DP comparing her hair to his pubes. All gross gross

Veg I can?t believe that your DS2 has Dutch words in his armoury now ? DD can possibly, sort of manage ?a? (cat), ?ar? (car), ?ar? (star), ?oo? (moon) and ?shoo shoo? (shoe) ? yet your boy is bilingual! Actually, I think this might be the problem with DD?s speech ? I?ve realised I?ve never explained to her that she is English, and I am getting more and more convinced each day that all the babbling is fluent Malaysian/Finnish/Martian, but definitely not English

So pleased that Kiwi?s DH is back again ? hurrah hurrah. And also v good news that Daisy has a happy holiday to look forward to

Beans I think about how marvellous you are v regularly, looking after two gorgeous girls. I?d forgotten all about the mammoth feeds

Hey, Indith! I have an epilator, and have used one since I was about 14 ? and it took me until my 20s to get a full (lower) leg done in one go ? and still can?t do above my knee!

WG bless your DD, recognising her Daddy?s voice. When will your DH?s episodes of Gigglebiz be on? My DH is a huge fan! And LadyT, DD also loves Big Barn Farm, that?s about the only thing she?ll actually sit and watch. DH and I however, thoroughly enjoy the hour from 3pm at the weekend, with I can cook, Grandpa in my pocket and then Gigglebiz

I found the gender sweepstake earlier ? I don?t think it was a final one, as there?s only 11 votes on it ? but interesting anyway.
We guessed Beans would have a girl (we are so clever!) with 8 votes to 3
Pubes we guessed a boy, only just (6 votes to 5)
LadyT a girl, just (6 to 5)
And Summer we think a girl too (again 6 to 5) ? so if we?re right here that?s three quarters.
So now its time for a sweepstake for our new clackeroos. What do we think?

And talking of clackeroos, I?ve just had an email from my lovely Swedish friend who is pregnant and due in Jan. Our DD was conceived in her spare room , but they?ve been trying since then. I think this is an IVF baby, I know they were looking into it, but who cares how those little cells got there, its such good news . Really made my day

Rubena · 06/07/2010 22:57

Hello all, sorry I have worried you all (clearly I post too much normally!) No baby yet () A combination of being completely fed up, completely shattered, and slight laptop issues has kept me away.
Summer I have the tired thing too however I just quickly scanned your thread and I think you are a bit worse. DS has been napping nearly 3 hours in the day for the last 3-4 days, and I've been doing the same on the couch which is nothing like I did last time around. I have put it down to the heat, plus having a toddler, but never had a problem like you describe driving etc. Hope the doc puts your mind at ease and it's nothing to worry about.
ds has started standing on his bed and pulling his blind out of the way to look outside and then scream bloody murder if he see's us in the garden having dinner it's quite cute but thismorning he woke up when he heard dh leaving for work out the back gate at 630 so I have reinforced the crack-den look and found this great adhesive backed black felt like stuff at hobbycraft and put it on the lower part of the window, and straight to sleep tonight!
I've been in such a foul mood and dh has been really winding me up as he's been really tired etc and working a lot, but I think I'm also a little stressed as although things seem fine now, db is visiting just briefly next week (over night) and I'm a little stressed about seeing them all tbh. Though i'm sure it will be fine.
Right will post this as I can't remember all I was going to say - sorry i did read back to try and catch up but I'm rubbish.
Beans your photo is lovely.
Kiwi have a lovely time

Veggiemummy · 07/07/2010 09:03

Pubie glad your ok. I wouldn't work yourself up about your DBs visit chances are they'll be extra well behaved and won't mention any of the ishoos to keep the peace.

Feeling very lazy today, one thing I hate about nice weather in countries were it doesn't happen often is you feel pressure to go out and enjoy the weather when it's good. That's bad isn't it. I should want to get out in it. The boys are happy here for now and the back door is open so they will get out there soon. It's only 10am & I feel like 2nd coffee already.

Right need to sort this house out & go through all the things I need to post including babybeans pessie, I've had it for a week but haven't sent it yet.

LadyThompson · 07/07/2010 09:47

I wrote a post much earlier this morning, but lost it - grrr! Not a good start to the day - the new washing machine delivery men said there wasn't room on the van for our old washing machine (part of the 'contract' was that they would take it away) and then they said they couldn't take it downstairs anyway as our staircase has two bends in it. which classifies as a spiral staircase, and contravenes 'elf and safety! Whole scene descends into chaos, with DP yelling into my ear on the phone as he was on his way to Hampshire for a trial, the delivery men shouting at me, me hollering back in my pyjamas and dressing gown, and the downstairs neighbour whom I don't like coming along to referee. Not very edifying. I might have to change my name from 'Lady' for a bit, to atone. My language would have blistered paint.

Rubes, I am glad all is well. I think when you see your bro in person things will feel a lot better and more natural. That is rather cute about your DS peeping at the window!

Veggie, I might have a second coffee. The first one didn't touch the sides after this morning's operatics. I know what you mean about feeling under pressure to go outside, although it's gloomy here today.

ZJ, that is so nice about your pal being clackered. It is so utterly delightful when people have good news like that. I was at another chambers do last night and DP's clerk and his wife are expecting a baby on 28 Dec, after ten years! It's just lovely.

Beans, the pics are lovely. I managed to get your little parcel up to the post office yesterday, so look out for it.

Right, is it just me at the meet up on Friday?

Veggiemummy · 07/07/2010 10:31

Gosh Lady you have so much on yet you have managed to get to the post office with babybeans pressie, right tomorrow is my deadline. Sorry about your washing machine debarcle this morning lady. I'm sorry but I did giggle at your language blistering paint. You do come out with great one liners. I know it doesn't help the getting it down the stairs issue but can you leave the machine out for the council? Also may I ask the company you bought it from, it wasn't Tesco Direct was it?

I'm in such a mood this morning. I'm finally getting DS2 to sleep after an hour of twoing & froing. He doesn't want to sleep because his brother is home and he wants to play. But he is tired so he ends up whining and doing the evil squealing noise all the time. Aaagggghhhh but I hate that noise. I end up shouting at him and he gives me this pained look that melts my heart and I feel terrible. When will he stop making that noise, I love him but it grates on my soul and I think he's starting to pick up on it. He's finally asleep now so time for another coffee. I neeeeed more patience.

OP posts:
LadyThompson · 07/07/2010 10:46

The company was Boots, actually, Veg, but during one of my many calls to Customer Services I was asked if it was Boots or Tesco Direct I was calling about so maybe they are in some way linked (or use the same delivery company, who have the cheek to be called Expert Delivery Solutions or something like that, a irony which I was not slow in pointing out ) Er...they took it down the stairs in the end. I ranted and raved made such a ginormous fuss as I threatened them with Dire Consequences that the customer services lady on the phone instructed them just to get on with it...

I know what you mean about the whinging. There is something about the timbre and persistency of certain whinging tones that totally evaporates the patience.

Beans33 · 07/07/2010 11:12

lady - you are a total hero. Thank you so so much for your presents! How kind! I've put the hairband on Whizzer as Pru is a bit baldy - and she looks so sweet! And we don't have a sunhat for Pru, so it's ideal - you are so kind. And as for the smellies - bring it on! When DH gets back from his course, I am going to treat myself to a wonderful bath with Sanctuary stuff in and a smelly candle burning delightfully next to me - I can't wait! THANK YOU SO MUCH! And thanks to all for your lovely cards - you are heros. Lifts my spirits.

Today is my 1st proper day on my own - Mum is coming up tonight, thankfully. Whizz still has a bit of a temperature, but better than she was and Pru has done a ginormo sick and poos like crazy. BUT I have managed to go to Whizzy's music lesson and am feeling quite proud. Now just need to get them both off to sleep, then I can have one too! Can't wait for arrival of the cavalry this evening already!

And Pubes - so glad you're ok!

Must go, Whizzy calling dolefully for Sheepy.

xxxx

LadyThompson · 07/07/2010 11:21

The hairband WAS for Izzy, actually - I tried to mark the parcels but I only had a biro to hand so it was a bit faint. I am not a great fan of headbands for tiny babies but like them for toddlers. So glad it arrived (am amazed as I only posted it at 3 yesterday!)

DD is scared of the Pinky Ponk. Whenever it flies around making that farting noise, she gets hysterical. This has been going on for a few weeks. Yes, telly for the last hour as I need some respite!

KiwiPanda · 07/07/2010 11:46

Ladies having a lovely time already but just quick random question - I've got a really bright red rah on my thigh (just one but think had same the other day on the other one). Doesn't itch or hurt at all but rather freaky looking, sort of patchy but linked up. Like a river delta... Anyone any ideas?? As I say doesn't hurt t all but really alarming looking!

JamInMyWellies · 07/07/2010 12:15

Been meaning to post for ages but not got round to it.

Beans how is the one sided 2 feeds thing going. Just to chuck my two pence worth in. I used to express the first bonkers spray bit off for a couple of wks then it soon settled down.

Also DS1 was a 2 hourly chap for the first 4 months during the day then at 3 months went from 11 - 7 at night without feeding. Maybe Pru will do the same [hopefull]

DS2 was ravenous and would just boob it all the time. Am sure if he was still feeding he would be on the boobie juice day and night.

Gorgeous picture BTW you all look super happy.

Clackered up peeps seriously slow down a wee bit. Once those little milk monsters arrive its a whole new ball game and you need to take it a bit easy now.

Kiwi hurrah for DH being home and even bigger hurrah for spa day.

Veggie super game last night was lots of whooping in our house. Really want them to go onto the final.

Poison no worries re Friday.

ZoeJ I have clearly missed something I thought you lived in E Yorks?

Please dont worry about speach they all pick it up at such different rates. Missing the first and last letters from words is normal my DS1 stil does this with some words then as he uses them more he adds letters for example Lightening McQueen used to be light queen.

A HV gave me some info when we were concerned about DS1.

It says between 18mth & 2yrs that reduplication e.g. bottle - bobo or final or initial consonant deletion e.g. boat - boa -oa is normal

If at 3 they were still doing this then they would look into it.

Indith hallo!

Cant remember who was talking about telly. But my 2 watch far too much I know they do but when they reg wake at 5am and am on my own until 7pmish. It is often the only break I get. They are not so much into cbeebies its all about movies here, Cars, Toy Story, Walle, Shrek I could go on But I justify it by spending masses of time outdoors, or doing puzzles or art stuff.

Off to do nursery pick up back to finish of later....

Beans33 · 07/07/2010 13:15

Ah, didn't really look at parcels - was v busy ripping of packaging - thanks again, Lady.

Oh clackered ladies - I back up Jam here - definitely take it as easy as you can now as you'll wish you'd done less once the new one arrives. Make the absolute most of sleep times by getting some sleep yourselves - and if you don't fancy a sleep - have some time out with a book and some minstrels - or something else lovely and indulgent! Enjoy the time on your own! I've just had a half hour sleep, which is great! But it's not usually possible as one or other is squeaking. I hope that wasn't too pious and "I'm so experienced" kind of advice, when I'm really not, after under 3 weeks or this! BUT if I had my preggie time again, I would slurp around like a total slobbo when DD was asleep!

Glad you all like the picture - I do too - think we look really happy. Which we generally are.

Kiwi - I don't know what the rash is - but perhaps whisk it to your GP?

I've got to do my 2nd poo of the day now - dreading it due to the piles. I no longer feel I have a palm tree sticking out of my bum, but it's still most uncomfortable doing a poo!

CBeebies has come into its own since arrival of Pru. I try to limit it to feeding time at the zoo, but if am feeling zonkoed - on it comes! Hurrah! I don't know how our parents used to cope without it!!!

EasilyConfusedIndith · 07/07/2010 13:22

Oooh Beans I feel your pain. Can I be really disgusting for a minute? Still have pile issues here post dd. Use a little stool to put your feet on while on the loo, it puts your bowls into a much better line for doing poos and makes it much easier. Also, if it gets painful then leaning forwards, putting your hands round your back and sort of supporting the rectum as it stretches (kind of like a MW supporting you when the head is crowning) and gently sitting back up again with hands still in place. Very at sharing but it really, really does help.

Yes yes to slowing down pg ladies. Remember this time around you can't just sleep while the baby sleeps as you'll have a toddler going "thank goodness that annoying baby has gone away for a bit play with me mummy play with me!"

Beans33 · 07/07/2010 13:51

Indith - thank you for the tips you are a star! And for the card! I also find wiping my bottom v sore - it's extraordinary! I used to love having a poo - now it fills me with horror!!! Sorry if TMI - but you lot are such wonderful fonts of advice and pearls of wisdom!

Again on Beebies front (Beebies being one of DD's first words - oops!), I know I've been watching too much when I'm starting to find that really tall one (can't remember his name, think it's Andy) quite attractive. Despite his ridiculously white, straight teeth and his uncanny resemblance to a scary alpha chimpanzee. I need to get out more. I also need to start fancying DH again as he is looking very handsome at the moment and while I can't seem to find him sexy, I am worried someone else might!!! He wouldn't do anything, but he's MINE!

Daisy - how are you doing after your evening with DH that sounded like a roaring success.

Plus, I'd like to apologise for how entirely self-centred I've been on here of late. It's quite hard to look beyond myself when am up to elbows in nappies and nipples. BUT I promise to show more interest in everyone else from now on!

xx

EasilyConfusedIndith · 07/07/2010 13:59

I sent you a card? Gosh that was clever of me! I'm assuming you mean to thank someone else, I don't even know where you live I could send you an imaginary one though.

Beans33 · 07/07/2010 14:03

Oh whoops - sorry - was invisible - I think. Getting confused with "I" names - sorry! Dolt.

Turniphead1 · 07/07/2010 14:19

Beans - as a piles survivor with DS2 and 3 (they have gone now thank goodness) can I recommend Dulcoease (for softening da poo - think its fine with b'fing) and the Andrex soft wipes for wiping. Hugs to you - it wears you down.

LadyT - loving the image of you in pjs swearing at washing machine people - but how annjoying! Glad twas sorted.

Ok, orf. Contract to draft for some naughty builders...

Beans33 · 07/07/2010 14:25

Ooh, have to quickly tell one funny story about a friend of mine who's just had a baby.

She has v sore nips, so tends to wander round after feeding with her boob out that she's just fed from. Yesterday she went to answer the door - luckily it was just her neighbour who's also a mother, as she'd forgotten to put her nipple away and had her boob poking out - hahahah! Exactly the sort of thing I can imagine myself doing!

Thanks re wetwipes - I improvised this morning by using a Simple facewipe! Did the trick, though. Will get some dulcoease!

x

EasilyConfusedIndith · 07/07/2010 15:03

I went to toddlers the other day with one half of my bra undone. Spent the morning wondering why I looked so lopsided but shrugged it off as dd favours one side anyway then realised why when I pulled my top up to feed her after lunch

If you go see your GP you can get a lovely prescription for huge bottles of lactulose (also a stool softener) and anusol cream or even anusol to shove up there. The maternity exemption card is a wonderful thing

JamInMyWellies · 07/07/2010 15:15

Oh yes Lactulose and prepH gel much more cooling than the cream. Oh and another one doing some I still get them every time I have a big poo so in the shower if I have any I use a soapy finger and pop them back up [gross]

JumpJockey · 07/07/2010 15:31

Argh, this talk of piles is scaring me a lot! THings have already slowed down a little in the lower department and while I didn't have that trouble with dd (jammy blighter) I'm mildly concerned that they're looking that way this time. Will note all this info in a file called "DH under no circumstances look at this" and see how long it takes...

anyway just to say hello everyone rather sneakily, I'm at work for an extra day because it's busy project launch time but am in a different office so nobody looking over my shoulder!

sybilfaulty · 07/07/2010 15:51

LadyT, I'm on for Friday! It seems a bit selfish to make you trek all the way Sarf of the river if it is just you and me, esp with you being in an interesting condition. Friday is supposed to be hot hot hot so should we have a picnic? Is St James park doable from your neck of the woods as it's fine for me and my 2 smaller ones (big one going on a school trip to Broadstairs).

Sorry to dash on and off again but will try and post properly later, promise. Lots of love to you all.

LadyThompson · 07/07/2010 16:22

Yay! Parfait. St James is totally fine but perfectly happy to nake it Battersea Pk as you will have two and I only have, as yet, one! A picnic sounds just the ticket. Anyway, let me know where suits.
