Hi ladies.
Just got back from the mother in laws. You would think shes had her leg cut off the way shes going on Hmm glad we don't live too close to her anymore.....
Brilliant stuff Simpson Smile keep us posted?
We opened the bpys a savings account this morning Smile and need to change addresses on their child trust fund accounts. Need to make another appt to do this and while were there they will talk to us about life cover Hmm Why ? we have it elsewhere. Talk about sell sell sell.
George has now taken to sucking his thumb! One night he went to bed with out his dummy and didn't ask for it. Same thing for the two nights running so we didn't remind him about it. Has been two weeks now. Thinking we have done realy well and he's not worried about it now we realise why !Ah well I did it for 13 years so Ill let him be for now Smile
Do you think we should start a new thread? (madmouse?)
Maybe 'My goodness me are they really three?!'. Just a thought Grin

well with all the recent activity round the birthdays we are fairly close to needing a new one (about 70 messages)

So let's start the quest for the new thread title.

My brain doesn't work so I'll wait for the creativity to flow from you guys.

Just jumping back on. Still in Spain. Back soon!

Will mull over new thread title. I was thinking we should treat ourselves to a new one.

JustKeepSwimming · 10/02/2011 15:36

Definitely a lack of flow here.

Not much to say really, tired as usual. H actually not up until just before 6 today, yey. But i feel that i could spend all day in bed and still be knackered!

Going away to Norfolk for the weekend tomorrow - packing is such fun Hmm seemed like a good idea when we booked it ages ago...

gingeme · 11/02/2011 12:58

Lucky you going away JKS I could really do with a break right now.
Not alot been happening here. I've been pretty poorly with a red raw throat and swollen glands. Been to my gp who told me to take paracetamol and ibuprofen regularly and gargle with salt water. Bit of an improvement today. Trouble is DH now has man flu which doesn't help the boys who are bored ! Just glad DH is on annual leave and being able to rest .
Anyway sorry about the doom and gloom.
Hope you are all ok x

simpson · 11/02/2011 20:05

sorry you are poorly gingeme

Bad day today Sad

Got a call this morning to say there was no room for M at the creche for the last ever keep fit class so I had to miss it Sad

Then this eve, I went to let kitties out the back door and could not close it again Hmm cue lots of swearing etc from me Blush

Finally an hr or so later I have got it locked but it is out of action so its going to cost £££ I don't have to fix Sad

Also kitties only know to go out the back (they don't know where the front of the house is from the outside iyswim) so looks like they are going to be underfoot for a while...

Also I have to try and find £££ for my & J's passports...

And to top it off my grandmother is not good again, although not at hospital (she has a f/t carer for the next few days)

Blush Blush Blush

madmouse · 11/02/2011 22:39

Oh Simps sorry that's a pile of rubbish to deal with Sad

You know where I am if you need to vent xx

simpson · 11/02/2011 22:48

Thanks Smile

I was so upset I literally sat on sofa and sobbed Blush Poor M kpt trying to give me a hug Sad

J was sulking upstairs because I told him off for deliberately smearing mud on his white school shirt Hmm But at least he did not see me cry as it upsets him...

mixedmamameansbusiness · 12/02/2011 16:34

Aww Simps. It never rains but it pours. Wine

Have had issues here the last few days. I had a consultant appointment on Wedn to discuss iron levels and blood pressure was a little low, cue urine tests and blood tests (from my hands as I have such poor veins in my arms). Told to come to Day Assessment Unit on Thurs to collect results discuss iron. So E stayed at my parents so I could go straight from school. Eventually got admitted as pulse was high too.

Yesterday the doctors missed me off their list and I had been given the impression that they were just observing and then sending me home. DH picksed up kids and took them to his mums where they stayed last night, eventually after me asking all day when the docs might come DH went and kicked up a little stink and was told all the docs had gone home, but they called the on call registrar who came at 8pm..... but at last said i could go home although had to go back today to pick up a prescription for liquid iron and dad is coming tomorrow to stay at ours as I have to go back to the day assessment unit on Mon to have an iron transfusion.

Feel really rubbish for the kids as they have hardly seen me and E didnt want to leave the hospital yesterday morning. Cant wait for them to come home, feel like we have to have a really great day tomorrow to make up for all this crap.

madmouse · 12/02/2011 20:06

Oh MM that sounds stressful - your iron must be really low - hope you're ok xx

AngeChica · 13/02/2011 14:29

Supposed to be doing housework, swooping to see if new thread yet. I vote Gingeme's.

gingeme · 13/02/2011 15:03

Oh mixedmamma that sounds just awful. What have they suggested for yout iron intake?
Sad Simpson. How are you feeling today ?
I'm feeling alot better today thank goodness. Throat not as nearly as sore but glands still s bit fat. DH had a very high temperature for 3 days too so he wasn't a happy bunny. Luckily he's on annual leave so could rest a bit.
George is still sucking his thumb Hmm He is so into counting now. He counts everything!
Apart from that not alot happening here really. David and Edward still loving there school Smile. David comes home with a sticker every day for something good.
Tangos still crackers. Loves the garden now. No more litter tray for him Grin

Arrrrggghhh went to the hosp today as advised to be told that my iron infusion needs to be booked, so it has been booked for Friday. Oh well onward and upward and at least the hospital isnt that far away.

Hello to all.

latrucha · 16/02/2011 14:14

Very annoying Mixedmama. How are you feeling?

We're back from Sapin and it was OKAY! The children's sleep has completely gone to pot, of course but apart from that and being a bit bored we got by. My MIL seems to have overcome her depression and has stopped manically cleaning the house and started smiling, which helped a lot. We've all picked up bad colds though, and Daniel was teething and now has two teeth.

The upshot is, I think we'll settle for two babies!

I'm having to arraneg a new nursery for Sabela (so I can use free hours) and I feel very emotional about it. She is so happy in the one she is in and I like it so much. The other one is great, I'm sure, but it doesn't feel as special to me. Ah me! Being a mummy is a trial! She leapt through the door of the nursery this morning, so happy. Sad

mixedmamameansbusiness · 16/02/2011 14:20

Welcome back LaTrucha. Glad the trip was better than you thought.

I am well. Booked for my iron infusion on Friday so fingers crossed the right hand actually speaks to the left hand and it happens, although I dont feel particularly anaemic actually.

simpson · 16/02/2011 17:39

need some advice.....

J breaks up for half term on friday (teacher training) and the plan was to start potty training then...

However I have just been speaking to neighbour whose DD started at the same playgroup as M last wk (she has been staying to help settle her daughter in) and she said M asked to go to the loo on monday twice and manage a wee both times Shock

She still won't go at home Hmm This is the place where she has gone before but never actually asked to go iyswim.

Anyway, M is there tomorrow morning. Do I send her in pants/knickers and see what happens(baring in mind we are going for it the next day anyway) or is that too much to expectthe staff to do???

JustKeepSwimming · 16/02/2011 18:06

Simps - def not too much to ask, part of their job anyway and it sounds like she's more up for it there too.

LaT - welcome back :)

Mixed - that is really not on of the hosp/docs to be messing you around so much. Are you sure you couldn't just up your iron-in-food intake esp if you're not feeling too rubbish now?

Baby here still transverse

H doing really well though, loads of new words and so much interest in stuff generally :)

I am thinking of trying T without pull-ups at night for half-term, his pull-ups are nearly dry in the morning anyway and he seems to coming round to the idea - previously been very anti fro some reason. Have got supplies in of bed mats & mattress covers :)

Also started chucking some stuff in a bag for labour/birth, even printed out birth plan from before to put in - like it really got stuck to but hey ho. They did read it and let us find out what sex he was, plus tried skin-to-skin straight away, i was just too shaky to safely hold him for a while. Oh and didn't dress him until i said to so i could try s-t-s again later and bf him, so not bad really for a middle of the night emc-s :)

Halfway through my bf supporter course, is quite interesting but slow going sometimes, sure it could be compressed into much less time.
Have to do a 'presentation' at the end, not sure what on yet, thinking maybe history of wet nursing? bit blank really.

Fillybuster · 16/02/2011 18:17

I'm exhausted! My grandma in Manchester, who (as you might rememeber) has been very ill for a long time now, finally got rushed into a hospice last Wednesday. By chance, I was up there without children for a pre-planned visit that day, so ended up having a very emotionally shattering day in the hospice, mainly trying to look after my grandpa and aunt who were both struggling to deal with the situation. Amazingly, she actually regained full consciousness for a few minutes whilst i was there, and we had a very 'proper' goodbye.

Anyway, after a week of bedside vigils and being on red alert, she finally passed away yesterday morning. I'm relieved for her, because I know she was ready to go, but it has still been hard to deal with, despite loads of time to get used to the idea. We rushed up to Manchester yesterday for the funeral (which was in the afternoon), then spent the evening with close friends and family and didn't get home until 2am. Then a 'normal' day today, starting at 7.30 and with dh at work as usual, and I'm about ready to keel over....

Now my father needs to sit in mourning in his house for the next 7 days, so I'm going to be doing a lot of cooking and bringing the dcs into him for visits.

Sending love to all of you, sorry this was an entirely self-centred post :(

simpson · 16/02/2011 18:18

So sorry filly Sad

madmouse · 16/02/2011 19:43

sorry for your loss filly - be kind to yourself xxx Sad

JustKeepSwimming · 16/02/2011 20:02

:( Filly, glad you got to say your goodbyes, hope the next few days aren't too awful.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 17/02/2011 09:56

Awww Filly, so sorry for your loss. I know Judaisim is quite similar to the way we do things in that it makes for an intense few weeks of immediate funerals and mourning so sending all my love to you and your family.

latrucha · 17/02/2011 20:36

I'm sorry for your loss Filly. You are a very good daughter. I'm sure you will be a great comfort to your father.

JKS - which organisation are you doing supporter training with? I'm doing it with the Breastfeeding Network. I'm a few months in now, although I've only done one assignemnt. The others came in a blurry time around my father's death and I can't even think of what they are. I think you might be doing the same course, as I find it quite slow too. I'm often rushing to get there with 2 DCs and find myself waiting 45 minutes for it to actually begin. I wonder if we have the same tutor?
