Fanjo Warriors, here we are

Leave the ears completely alone, consider dosing her with Medised to reduce the itching (GP will be able to advise on dose), and try her own with some Virasoothe after a warm bath, perhaps?

bebemoohatessnot · 08/07/2010 11:10

Thanks Boff I'll look into those. She's got them on her palms and soles now Today is a bad day for her I fear.

Schulte · 08/07/2010 20:07

Oh dear Bebe, sounds like Moo's been hit really hard by those nasty pox . I just left a couple of posts on your other thread... DD1 had them all over her nappy area as well, I just kept putting acqueous cream with calamine on. Not that it helped. Hang in there, the pox on arms and legs are the last ones to appear and then hopefully she should stop getting new pox soon and start feeling better. Poor poor you, and Moo.

Schulte · 08/07/2010 21:01

Oh heck...

Don't laugh but I seem to have a large groin abscess .

I really don't feel like showing it to a GP but think I may have to!

OP posts:
bebemoohatessnot · 08/07/2010 21:14

Schulte thanks. Hopefully it does end soon. She's very very bad today.

Abscess? Is it possibly an ingrown hair? how large are we talking?

mrsgboring · 09/07/2010 06:58

Hi all. Sorry, fell off the planet again.

Bronze, great to hear from you and congrats on eating your own produce. Hope the job/house situation becomes a bit clearer for you all soon and that you get stuff sorted for DS1. I broke my radius when I was a kid.

So sorry to hear about Meg's pox, Bebe. She does sound to have had a bad time of it.

I am not really here. I am packing to go away today (yes off gallivanting again!) but have no energy or motivation. Bad way to start a camping trip really but hey ho. It's DD's anniversary today, which DH always has off work so we thought it too good an opportunity to miss to do a long weekend. It should be a brilliant site (all singing, all dancing, pool etc.) so time to do the final push on packing.

Yes, honestly really I am going now. Sorry, this is a bit of a ridiculous post.

bebemoohatessnot · 09/07/2010 11:45

Strange thing looking at her you wouldn't really think things were bad (so they're probably really not and it's just me over-reacting). She's not as covered as she could be... she got rather equal spacing of about an inch between the spots, and hardly any on her arms and legs...She's got ton on her scalp though under her hair... and tons on her bottom and they're very big (I'm a little concerned those are infected). Most are scabbed over today though thankfully, and there was only a very small amount of rash on her legs today.

BoffinMum · 09/07/2010 17:17

Schulte, do you wax your bikini line? If it is one of those then lancing it with a sterile needle and putting some Savlon on afterwards usually works. You have to be a bit brave though!

Schulte · 09/07/2010 20:15

No don't wax I am not even sure it is an abscess now, it's just painful and hard and red and swollen. Seems to have got smaller overnight. Hmmmmm.

We'll get CP soon... well Hazel will... it's going round nursery and one stupid mum was in there earlier with her DS covered in pox and said 'I thought it was just mosquito bites'. WFT???!!!! Not good news as H is still on ABs for her ongoing ear infection and her eczema is horrendous at the mo. CP is the last thing she needs on top of everything else

MrsG, thinking of your DD.

OP posts:
Bicnod · 09/07/2010 20:44

MrsG - hope your camping trip is fab and thinking of your DD x x

Schulte - eek to abscess thingy. i get ingrown hairs quite a lot in my groin and they can sometimes be quite big, red and swollen. i tend to do what Boff does and hack away at them with a needle . If it hasn't gone away by Monday i'd take yourself to see the doc.

Fingers crossed H won't get the dreaded pox - as you say she has enough to deal with at the moment.

Any news on house?

Bronze - very very impressed with allotment. how on earth you find the time to grow your own veg as well as looking after four children is beyond me, you must be the bionic woman.

Bebe - fingers crossed Moo's pox clears up soon poor little mite.

My DB and SIL had a little boy, Alexander James, on Tuesday . He is gorgeous and I get to cuddle him tomorrow as we're going to visit.

I've made SIL some banana bread and a box of chocolate brownies - that is true dedication considering it's so blardy hot.

Schulte · 09/07/2010 20:48

And can I just say Bicnod's banana bread is to die for.

No news on the blardy house.

Well l am on charmouth beach playing with dh smartphone as e sleeps in the ergo on my frpnt. It is very slow going to type though. Hope all the pox and spots clear up soon for everyone. Thanks for all the good wishes for my dd. So far the anniversaries are getting a tiny bit harder each yearbut not too bad. Ah dh and ds one are back from cafe. Catch you later

BoffinMum · 10/07/2010 13:37

Having a good day.

  1. Shoe shop agreed the expensive shoes we bought DS1 were crap and falling apart, and gave us a new pair of better quality ones, and I only had to pay the difference, which as he has had the other ones a few months seemed a good deal.
  1. They also had reasonably good quality sandles in his size for about the first time in 5 years.
  1. My boys then consented to getting their hair cut with only the most cursory of discussions about it. The barber's has been done up and they came out looking less goofy as there was a trendy lady stylist in there.
  1. We have inherited an aircon unit and my bedroom is the perfect temperature for recovering from the heat.

Off to have a pina colada now.

bebemoohatessnot · 10/07/2010 15:18

Moo is mostly scabbed over now and the little ones have started to fade. She's still having trouble sleeping at night (might be the heat). But her spirits are high and you cannot tell she's the least bit ill. It's kinda ironic considering dh is home and my cold has eased too...
I let her play naked with ice cubes yesterday (rather hilarious actually because she kept giggling and pressing them against her bits and shivering and screeching and then laughing again) and the spots on her bum have scabbed over I think in part because they got air.

I hope that H does not get it with everything else that would be horrible.

Glad the beach is enjoyable.

And good that new shoes and haircuts have been had It's lovely when things fall into place properly.

I cannot believe you've been baking in this weather (and it's not even half as hot over here by me)...

ZuluWarrior · 10/07/2010 20:39

Hello

We're back from Mull. Don't be jealous - it pissed with horizontal rain and our car broke down. But we still have a lovely time .

Catch up soon xxxx

ZuluWarrior · 10/07/2010 20:39

had

AuldAlliance · 12/07/2010 22:06

Hellooooo.
Glad serendipity is working for you Boff.
Very sorry about the rain and breakdowns, Zulu.
Enjoy your holiday, MrsG.
Can I have your banana bread recipe, Bicnod?
How's your groin, Schulte? (I tried hard to couch that in more genteel terms, and then thought sod it, that is in fact what I am trying to ask. )

Got back from marathon trip across France at midnight, now madly trying to get ready for major trip to southern hemisphere, while DH dozes on the sofa wondering what can possibly need doing . I think 3 wks in the house alone might do him good, actually.

Saw doctor today, probably have to have some lovely surgery (arthroscopy) on my knee when I get back from holiday. Yuk.

Back to packing/tidying/preparation/wondering what I have forgotten...

bebemoohatessnot · 13/07/2010 13:31

practical ideas for me; I'm struggling again and feel lousy for it

Schulte · 13/07/2010 20:24

Bebe, have replied on your thread.

Auld, groin is better thanks

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 14/07/2010 22:22

Hello people.

I have hurt myself playing rounders with the cub scouts.

I forgot I had SPD before getting to second base and feeling my groin twang.

Currently on sofa.

Schulte · 15/07/2010 12:49

Oh no, Boff. Are you still on painkillers?

OP posts:
Schulte · 15/07/2010 12:51

Going to Lollibop festival this weekend. DH is worried it will be 'an awful hot smelly occasion full of chavvy kids with diseases and chavvy parents'. Har har. I will report back

OP posts:
bebemoohatessnot · 15/07/2010 13:42

Boff. How are you doing now?

What's a Lollibop Festival? I think it sounds fun.

I'm insanely excited because the neighbor is due any minute. I keep thinking how lovely it'll be for them to have an itty bitty baby. (I'm obviously insane as I cannot cope with my own child and struggled even more with Moo when she was little. I'm holding onto the idea that I'm a terrible mother and other people are/will be much more capable than I am and will therefore enjoy it much more than I did.)

Bicnod · 15/07/2010 19:50

Sorry to butt in and not catch up but you have to check out this thread and click on the OP's photos to see the pic. Bloody hilarious - made me spit water all over the laptop

ZuluWarrior · 15/07/2010 21:21

Have just been crying with laughter at that thread and the one that leads off from it about the clay model .

Anyone sad or weary must read this. That means you Boff.
