Fanjo Warriors, here we are

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yay bebe :)

I head my LO's heartbeat for the first time yesterday which was lovely. And I've been feeling teeny tiny kicks for a week or so which is earlier that with O.

And I've bought myself a Phil and Ted's double buggy secondhand for £230 (with raincover, cocoon etc) which isn't bad, so getting slowly sorted. Will have to sell my beloved Bugaboo Bee now though as can't justify having two expensive buggies hanging around (especially as can use the P&T as a single as well as a double) :(

Puzzle you made me laugh with your DH killing escapades Grin

PuzzleRocks · 27/01/2011 08:27

Should we have a little running list of due dates?

Are any other April toddlers removing their own pooey nappies on a daily basis?

WildRumpus · 27/01/2011 08:38

Mine strips his nappy off and then pees on things. The rug, the bathmat, his sisters stuff. Emitd a hearty chuckle as he does it. She's a compulsive hoarder of party invitations and was livid the other day when her collection (v small collection) had to go in the bin after being pissed on by her baby bro. But he usually calls in an expert if there is poo. He realises that dealing with poo is above his pay grade so he points desperately at his nappy saying "yuck" or goes into the bathroom and gets the changing may out and lies down waiting.

AuldAlliance · 27/01/2011 10:43

Not quite the same thing, but while we are doing yucky stuff, I feel the need to share this tale of woe.

The boys have now got an evil flu bug.

A was sleeping v badly, disturbing DS1 the other evening. So I took him into bed with me to try and get him sleeping propped up a bit on my chest, to help him breathe. After a fitful few hours he finally fell asleep and so did I.
I woke up shortly afterwards (4:42am.) to find A being sick all over my face and hair.

WildRumpus · 27/01/2011 14:11

Ooooooh Auld! That is yucky. In all my years of baby chunder it's never been directly at my face. Thank Goodness!

The kitten knocked a glass of water onto DHs head while he was asleep a couple of days ago. Bit of an abrupt wake up.

gingersarah · 27/01/2011 14:39

Hello everyone,

Very exciting to hear about new babies - my new lo is another April one, due the 6th.
Well done Bicnod on the P&T. I am still dithering.

V doesn't remove her nappy but she does warn you when it's dirty - "nappy! Poo poo! Yuk!" If for any reason you have the temerity to attempt to change it at any other time she flies into a rage at the intrusion and the appalling waste of her valuable time.

I'm missing her a lot these days - I keep telling her we'll have more time together when the new baby comes but she doesn't get the new baby thing at all. And I am not sure in practice how she is really going to like it!

WildRumpus · 27/01/2011 14:49

Oh Ginger - that's lovely news. Both mine were April babies. Paloma kind of got it but she did give me merry hell at times too. The good thing about the age gap and time of year was that it was sunny a lot and I used to park the baby in the shade and let her run around outdoors. Happy days!

bebemoohatessnot · 27/01/2011 15:42

Big trouble
cannot work thru dh's limited company when we told we could...which means paying for healthcare etc. and visas are being mentioned as being needed for me...

PuzzleRocks · 28/01/2011 09:13

GingerSarah - April 6th
Bicnod - July 14th
BebeMoo - late August
ZuluWarrior - ?

How exciting Grin

WildRumpus · 28/01/2011 13:41

Aaaah flashbacks to the early days of our list when LittleMyDancingForJoy asked if anyone else was expecting a baby in April 09.

Bicnod · 28/01/2011 13:43

Ooooooooooooooooooooo how exciting - I like being on a list again Grin

Puzzle - you do realise the list never made it onto this thread? Tardy. Very tardy.

Auld that is rank. Poor you. Puke is hard to deal with at the best of times - I'm sure I would have joined in if O had vomited on my face.

Bebe - any update on the visa front? Sounds stressful...

I'm cutting O's nap down by another 15 minutes today to just 45 minutes as he's still waking too early for my liking - fingers crossed my sleep maths will work.

I am getting fat. And I can't really blame it all on the baby as I'm only 16 weeks. But I figure it doesn't matter that much as I'll lose it all again in the stressfulness of the first few months of bf a newborn, sleepless nights and dealing with a toddler [deluded and hopeful emoticon]

WildRumpus · 28/01/2011 13:44

Bebe I don't know what the form is called now - used to be E111 and it allowed you to access healthcare across the EU and it would be charged back to the NHS. Would you not be able to access that?

Bicnod · 28/01/2011 13:45

WildRumpus x-posts - how are you my lovely? Schulte and I were plotting a get together at some point soon. My Grandma has just moved to a care home near Hampton Court so I'm over that way quite a lot - not far from Richmond really - maybe we should make Schulte host us all for coffee and cake?!

WildRumpus · 28/01/2011 13:51

Hi Bicnod - see how you get on, but in my experience a good nap leads to better night sleep. If DS has a good, long daytime nap (up to 2.5 hours on a v good day) he goes on to sleep better that night and later in the morning. Yesterday I screwed up his nap and he only got about 20 mins. He was a horror all afternoon and then woke howling and screaming, sobbing big fat tears down his cheeks, I was pacing the room trying to settle him - every couple of hours through the night. I am now a walking zombie! I think he gets overwrought on too little sleep.

WildRumpus · 28/01/2011 13:54

Yay German Cake chez Schulte! Good plan. At the moment I'm free on the Wed/Thur/Fri of half term.

WildRumpus · 28/01/2011 13:56

Obviously Schulte might not want to cook us kuchen (küchen sp?) but we could always do something. Take the kids to the park if weather is ok...

WildRumpus · 28/01/2011 13:58

Puzzle are you around over half term?

WildRumpus · 28/01/2011 14:05

(she says, cheerfully inviting more people over to unsuspecting Shulte's gaff)

WildRumpus · 28/01/2011 14:06

Can you tell I'm supposed to be elsewhere Doing Something Important? I've now tallied 6 consecutive posts.

WildRumpus · 28/01/2011 14:17

Yikes - and if I carry on much longer I'm going to finish the thread. Surely not. Puzzle is bound to sneak in at the last minute and swipe it from me...

WildRumpus · 28/01/2011 14:27
WildRumpus · 28/01/2011 14:38

Come on. You're all making it too easy for me. It's just not sporting.

AuldAlliance · 28/01/2011 14:40

I have work to do, too. Lots. And DS1 is on the sofa after throwing up his bearkfast this morning. Thankfully not on me.

AuldAlliance · 28/01/2011 14:41

So, you see, I too can write endless, thread-filling posts.

AuldAlliance · 28/01/2011 14:41

Is giving papers at 3 conferences, one in March, one end of May and one in June, a leetle over-optimistic?
