Fanjo Warriors, here we are

BoffinMum · 27/10/2010 21:39

Haven't you seen all those birth threads about the evils of pain relief??????

It's the same with knees

mwah hahahahahha

AuldAlliance · 27/10/2010 22:00

I gave birth to A w/o pain relief. (Well, unless the hardliners on MN include acupuncture in their definition of pain relief...!)

I'd rather do that again than have Monsieur Arrogant pierce my knees without anaesthesia. That is how freaked out I am at having this thing done. I've never had an operation of any kind before, and I have a thing about being drilled into, cut open, etc. Blush

BoffinMum · 27/10/2010 22:06

Well I have had my fanjo totally remodelled and I reckon a knee is on a level with that. And I am still alive and not suffering particularly. Wink

Schulte · 29/10/2010 20:27

Knee on a level with a fanjo???? Nooooooo.

You'll be fine Auld! They threatened me with a similar operation years ago but I got away with not having it... but that isn't to say that you shouldn't!

OP posts:
Schulte · 29/10/2010 20:28

And can I add that I never ever expected to have an operation ever in my life and then I had that blardy C section. And an ugly scar to show for it. Harrrumph.

BoffinMum · 29/10/2010 22:03

I have had loads of ops. People bring you chocolates. It's not all bad.

Fanjo seems to be healing quite nicely, btw.

bebemoohatessnot · 30/10/2010 18:02

Auld, can you remember when I was talking abt Moo's bad diaper rash (ages ago) and you gave me a 'recipe' for a salve which is supposed to help? I've had a search but cannot find the post. So if you could remember I'd really appreciate it.
She's got pimply spots on her labia and I'm running out of ideas, they don't seem to bother her too much, but they're not going away. :( Dh wants me to take her to the GP but I'm a little reluctant as they don't seem to causing any real problems. (BUT after reading Dr.Google and reading staph and herpes I'm getting a little worried and may just do that)

AuldAlliance · 30/10/2010 19:14

Bebe, I think it was a recipe for liniment oléo-calcaire.

Maybe not this one, but along these lines:
here.

It's not specifically for treating nappy rash, though, it's just a good lotion to use when changing LOs, as it is very oily and non-irritating. If you FB me with yr address, I'll send you a wee travel bottle with pleasure for you to try out.

bebemoohatessnot · 31/10/2010 15:44

Thanks Auld :)

why does the phrase 'petites fesses' make me smile?? :)

bebemoohatessnot · 01/11/2010 11:02

Went to the GP about my sore foot which gave again this weekend. And they said I'd need to be certain not to be pregnant i.e. on my period (if we trying) or not trying in order to have an x-ray. Hmm This has got me all emotional, but it's only a 2 week wait to find out if we're pregnant again...but it makes me feel pressure to stop trying.

B52s · 02/11/2010 12:57

Bebe, I often think of you at the moment and send you sticky wishes.

Bicnod · 02/11/2010 19:28

Please can I have some of those sticky wishes too B52s?

After nearly a year of trying we finally got a BFP this morning Grin Grin Grin and another one this afternoon on a different sort of test so that's pretty definitive.

I can't believe it.

Sorry to dive into thread without so much as a hello but wanted you all to know.

Will try and catch up properly tomorrow x x

BoffinMum · 02/11/2010 19:33

Yay!

Fingers crossed! Grin

ZuluWarrior · 02/11/2010 19:55

Oh wow Bicnod. How very, very wonderful!!! Lots of sticky wishes here. I demand that you don't do any more tests and that you don't start checking your knickers every 5 minutes Grin Grin. But seriously - congratulations xxx

BabyBolat · 02/11/2010 19:58

Yay Bicnod! Well done. Sticky wishes to you and others too x

Schultes. Sorry I haven't been in touch - manic at work and now off with pneumonia. I'll call as soon as I can.

Hope everyone is ok xxx

ZuluWarrior · 02/11/2010 20:04

Bloody hell BB. Are you OK?

BoffinMum · 02/11/2010 20:41

Blimey BB, I had that, are you OK? I felt terrible - the meds made it feel worse!

Quickly checking in - you okay BB?

Bicnod - woooow! Yay! I'll keep everything crossed for you Grin x

BoffinMum · 02/11/2010 21:59

Hi Nutts! It's a lot less frizzy and I really appreciated the products. I just wish I could blow dry it properly to do the whole thing justice, but I am rather lacking in talent on the hairdressing front. Wink I am a lot better at telling people how to do the colour properly since you coached me, though, so I have been very happy with that too.

BabyBolat · 03/11/2010 10:51

Hello all. Thanks Zulu, Boff, & D'nut. Am starting to feel a bit better. I can breathe more comfortably at least. It was pretty rough Sunday and Monday but I went in to hospital Monday and have very strong antibiotics (which make me feel a bit sick and give me horrendous mouth ulcers) but are at least allowing me to move and eat (chocolate cake is helping).

Oh Bleu, I forgot to say, I had an xray on Monday and we are not trying (but also not being careful so there is always a chance) and I mentioned this and she said it was fine and something about the same as a flight to the US so if I did have something sticky in there it would be ok. She may have been lying through her teeth but I think your dr is being a little bit harsh.

Bicnod · 03/11/2010 13:42

Hi lovelies - thanks for all the congrats. I'm tentatively over the moon Grin

Zulu - I had stocked up on cheapo pg tests from ebay so am doing one a day until they run out. DH thinks I'm bonkers. You might be able to advise me here - any thoughts welcome!

BB - pneumonia does not sound good, you poor thing :( chocolate cake should def be on prescription.

Auld - it is scary being operated on - I'm not surprised you're anxious. Having said that, DH had the exact same thing as you done and he was honestly ok. If you want to chat to him about it I know he wouldn't mind and he could reassure you that it really isn't that bad. I think you've got my number but if not then FB me.

Schulte email me some dates - I'd really love to see you and the girls (and to finally meet Mr Schulte!)

Sorry that was a bit of a crap catch up but supposed to be working Blush

bebemoohatessnot · 03/11/2010 14:21

Congrats on your stickiness Bicnod :)

BB sorry to hear abt the pneumonia :( Hopefully you're resting...you're notorious for not as I recall Wink
Talked it over with Dh and he thought gp was being a bit harsh too. But what can I do really? Particularly annoying is she then lectured me on my use of ibuprofen last week for the pain 'when I could be pregnant' (I figured that last week I would have been safe to use any ibuprofen as I'd only 'just' be pregnant as it was day 12 or something in my cycle -I kinda feel like she's going on the premise that 25% of the time a woman IS pregnant because you start counting the weeks from the 1st day of the period...) and then frowned at me when I said I was still on pregnacare vitamins (So I shouldn't need any extra folic acid) since Moo's pregnancy because I had only really stopped feeding her 4months ago. She was not my normal doctor. I did not especially like her.

I've been 'trying' to be easy on my foot, but of course Moo is running riot this week for some reason and I'm feeling as fragile as once broken fine china. Ah well, I just need to get through this week and try to finish my Christmas weaving and find some place to house my cat for the holiday in America and things will hopefully settle down.

BoffinMum · 03/11/2010 16:00

Bebe, IMO, as it's only your bloody foot, I would just tell them you are having a period and let them xray you. They can put a lead apron on you to be on the safe side anyway. And just tell doctors what they want to hear when it comes to over the counter drugs when you don't even know your pg. Seriously, if any of this stuff caused major damage when there were only a few dozen cells, half the kids in Britain would be running around as mutants FFS.

For the record, I have done most of this myself and everything was fine. ;.) This is apparently normal practice amongst the more subversive members of the female childbearing community.

BB, it's Haagen Dasz vanilla that is the best thing for pneumonia. God told me. Grin

bebemoohatessnot · 03/11/2010 16:22

"BB, it's Haagen Dasz vanilla that is the best thing for pneumonia. God told me."
lol

Though I'm sure I've had God tell me similar things about Ben and Jerry's and colds Wink
