lareggub - glad you're feeling better, doesn't sound pleasant at all.

running - hope you had a nice swim! And a good holiday.

smokey - bump pic please!

momino - I know that I expect way to much of DD1 and . She is incredibly articulate, I think I (and a ot of other people) forget that she isn't even 3 and 1/2 yet. I know what you mean about reading the book and then not putting it into practice, I feel like that too; it made so much sense to me when I read it, but I don't take a moment to think before I react.

Sorry, I'm going to have a whinge now, about everything. DD1 is still having accidents several times a day. A is wearing (llareggub, that is totally the right word), she doesn't stop moving, ever (she had worked out today that if she moved our footstool she could reach the windowsill to throw things through the window - and then tried to climb out ). DH has had time to do what he wants 3 times this week, I got a lie in until 8 this morning and that was it. A is waking before 5 every day, and just wants to feed; if she so much as glimpses a bit of boob she throws herself at me ina frenzy. I'm a control freak and I hate this bit of the house buying when there is nothing I can do at all, but at the same time I'm feeling a bit panicky about the thought that I might have to pack the whole house up in less than three weeks - and DH might have to go away again for work sometime in the next fortnight.

Sorry for all that, ignore me. Just wanted to let off steam.

FiByTheIcySea · 01/08/2010 22:55

momino you're a fantastic mum. just the way you talk about your dd's and your feelings about yourself as a mum show how much you care. They are extremely lucky to have such a wonderful mum! don't give yourself a hard time. i'm sure dd1 will cope with starting school in sept as she has you. DS is starting in sept too and i too am a little worried how he'll cope as he only turns 4yrs next wk! in some respects i think he's ready but in others i feel he's still so young..
how did your run go?
llare so glad you're on the mend.. flu is awful anytime let alone summer time. i'm sure it won't be long before G goes it alone walking wise and at climbing out of his cot

FiByTheIcySea · 01/08/2010 22:57

Ooo didn't notice there was another page

FiByTheIcySea · 01/08/2010 23:21

flip between climbing, 5am starts, boob frenzy, accidents and house buying i'm amazed you're not more stressed out! vent away!
momino I expect a lot from DS.. to act his age for one.. but at times he seems to regress to G's age in his behavior. Sometimes i think he's having fun in a role playing/imitating G kinda way but other times it's different and it's more of an attention seeking kinda behavior.. which I suddenly realise when I have a light bulb moment. I'm trying to get him as ready for school as possible but it's hard going as he's so stubborn he refuses to learn how to do buttons, undo his trousers and pull his pants down to go to the loo without help etc..

FiByTheIcySea · 01/08/2010 23:24

how did sherlock holmes end? DS woke up and i missed the last 10mins or so.. i saw up to the point holmes worked out the book was the A-Z..

runningmonkey · 02/08/2010 09:56

morning,
swim was great thanks, just what I needed. I am goign to attempt a small nc while A is asleep - what's the betting she wakes up before the end!

momi I echo what Fi says above. The fact you are worried shows what a great Mum you are. I am sure your DD1 will settle fine at primary although she is probably a bit daunted and that's not helping the tantrums. No sensible advice to offer but support and hugs if you ened them.

Fi well done on the running.

Flip rant away. Its well said that moving house is one of the most stressful things you can do and topped with climbing and accidents from your dd's can't help. I am not surprised you are stressed. Can you get DH to babysit one evening this week and go out and do something for yourself? I know you probably think you should be packing, etc but even getting out for a walk with some loud music on might be a bit of a break for you. I know it helps me. I do think its common to expect a lot from older siblings - no direct experience as a parent but I certainly felt like that growing up wiht two younger brothers!

llare glad you are feeling better. I did when I saw your comment about missing exercise when I had written almost the exact same thing last night. Never thought I'd be someone who looked forward to going to the gym.

tum hope your DH is ok after scary experience after his op. Hope you are surviving with your patient too

febes farewell meet up I am definitely up for it - I am off until Sept 1st although away again 14-21 Aug so can do pretty much anytime!

ses omnom and others ttc, were definitely on that wagon too. have fun everyone

smokey another one looking forward to a bump pic!

Hello to everyone else, hope those on hol are having a good time.

We had a lovely holiday - was so nice to go back to a place I have such fond memories of - the ice-cream parlour is still there llare although the queue was out the door so we didn't make it in there. Also visited Saundersfoot flip and made sure A was dressed in her bet dress to do so in your honour I swam in the sea a few times (freezing) and A loved knocking over sandcastles as fast as DH and my Mum's partner could build them We're definitely going back there again as there is so much to do that A will love as she grows up.

Its our 2nd wedding anniversary today so we celebrated last night by opening the last bottle of fizz left over from our wedding - it was still surprisingly nice! I have a bit of a sore head today though even though I only had a glass and a half!

Anyway, A hasn't woken up so I better go and sort out the washing mountain that we brought back with us! Have a good day all.

FiByTheIcySea · 02/08/2010 10:30

running happy anniversary! i'm the same with fuzzyndizzy fizzy these days.. still love it though sounds like a lovely holiday too i too am attacking a washing mountain.. the bed changing one.

febes · 02/08/2010 12:52

Meetup Just looking at my calender- how does Wednesday 25th of August suit you all? I'll message people on facebook to discuss a location. Ses, Fi, Running, Belgina, Flip, Dandy, Sausage?, anyone else down this way???

8 days till we move arhhhhhh. DH has been in Manchester working since thursday and the kids are driving me mad now. Luckily he is home tonight.

R has 2/3 new back teeth coming thrugh and was out of sorts yesterday. He didn't nap at all and took an hour and a dose of magic calpol to sleep last night but then went all night and seems better today.

I am trying to find a DVD of DDs current obsession 'Come Outside' with Pippin and Aunty Mabel at the moment as we have loads of episodes on sky + for her which she watches when R naps during her 'quiet time'. But they don't make them anymore!!!!! Thank goodness for you tube.

FiByTheIcySea · 02/08/2010 14:01

febes don't think we have any plans for that day

runningmonkey · 02/08/2010 14:06

I think I can do that day too

flipflopsattheready · 02/08/2010 15:59

Wednesdays are usually a good day for us, but that might be the week that we move, I'll have to let you know a bit nearer the time, sorry!

momino · 02/08/2010 17:30

febes, I depend upon you tube as well! dd1&2 watch disney princess films on it whilst I get dressed in the morning. 8 days!

running, sounds like a lovely holiday and happy Anniversary as well!

Flip, rant away (I certainly did last night!), that's why we're here . Hope you're feeling a bit better. it sounds overwhelming to me, I'm not surprised you feel a bit stressed.

Fi, have you seen the end of Sherlock on iPlayer yet? I can only generalise and say that Sherlock found them all before John's date what'shername shot through (what else did that actress play on), and they all lived happily ever . about the run, I did much better than expected and came in at 55 and a half min. felt really good, I want to get back into running again.

Older girls are away and I feel markedly more relaxed. really enjoying Harper as well and getting lots of cuddles.

H hasstarted picking her nose, though . blech. not very charming.

excited at you all TTC! can't wait.

hope everyone is well.

FiByTheIcySea · 03/08/2010 09:23

momino i forgot about iplayer! thanks :-) wow great run! i'm not v fast atm but getting there.. i'm enjoying the running as it gives me 1/2 an hour to myself outside.. quite enjoy it even when i get rained on! i too will be down to just G from friday eve to tuesday eve.. dh is taking DS up to see his mum brother and sil in glasgow. will be a nice rest and give me a chance to bake ds's birthday cake. going to miss seeing DS on his birthday on tuesday though :-( by the time they get home that day it'll be way past his bedtime. DS is so excited, it'll be nice for him to have his birthday with his other grandma as she finds it hard to travel now. just hope they make a fuss of him.. dh's brother and sil still haven't met G.. but that's another saga. i'm rambling oops x

flipflopsattheready · 03/08/2010 21:24

runningmonkey · 04/08/2010 14:23

Hello! Just popping in - just typed pooping by mistake and now can't stop giggling

Hope everyone is ok

Fi I am so impressed with the running. Well done! You too momi that's an impressive time.

Missed this whole sherlock thingy but think I probably would have liked it. Will have a look on iplayer see if I can catch up.

I'm not sure if I told you guys but this weekend I have the whole weekend off - I'm going to spend it in London with my best friends from uni I am so looking forward to it but also panicking about what to wear and nervously started thread in S&B yesterday. Bought have bought [[www.manfords.com/White-Stuff-Pepper-Print-Dress-Teal-pink-8.html this and feel really good in it but have no idea what to wear with it!!

runningmonkey · 04/08/2010 14:25

trying again... this

omnomnomtom · 04/08/2010 21:10

llareggub glad you are feeling better
fi at climbing baby- it's scary isn't it?

omnomnomtom · 04/08/2010 21:15

boob frenzy made me snigger!
running nice dress, no advice as to what to wear with it as I'm no Gok and good luck with ttc
smoky inlaws visiting you say? Don't forget to breeeaaaathe!

FiByTheIcySea · 04/08/2010 22:31

running love the colour of the dress! what to wear with it depends on the look you want.. leggings/jeans would dress (no pun intended) it down, too warm for tights.. some nice strappy flat sandals for day.. heels for later? few strings of funky beads or a long dangly necklace of some kind? go for whatever makes you smile! x
IL'S smokey uhoh sending strong calming vibes
not watched end of sherlock yet.. saving it for when i'm on my ownsome.
climbing G has started another new ^game^ it's the open all the cupboard doors while she's in the kitchen with me while i make breakfast lunch dinner i close the doors and she then opens them again.. over and over again.. looks like it's time to tie them shut!
started wk6 of running tonight.. legs are all wobbly again. the end of this wk ends with a 25min run! yikes.
DS will end up with a 3day long birthday next wk.. tuesday (his actual birthday) in glasgow with dh, wed back here to open our presents & thursday his party with his pals..

omnomnomtom · 04/08/2010 23:09

fi we have just put a bolt on the outside of our tv unit as j was constantly opening it and pulling out all the dvds- he then likes to throw them behind the fireguard I give it about two weeks before he works out how to open the bolt...
any other DCs with a passion for lift the flap books? J finds them hilarious at the moment, his other great passions right now are; the letterbox, posting items such as tissues and biscuits into his shape sorter and climbing into boxes/cupboards other confined spaces. On the other hand he hates pop-up books (they make him scream), having his teeth brushed and the word 'no'

momino · 04/08/2010 23:42

evening all.
Fi, omnom, love the stories of your of LO's getting into things.
in our house, H gets into dd2's potty which is usually found in the kitchen or lounge as we don't have a downstairs loo. I'll hear a little creak and go to find H with her foot in the (luckily) empty potty or putting a stuffed toy in it. yuck.

Running, lovely dress. listen to Fi's excellent advice, I can't add to it!

HI Ses, glad the extension is coming on well. can't wait to see the finished thing.

smokeyB, hope you're not going mad with the IL's. looking forward to stories.

Ihad a lovely day scraping paint off the radiator (took 3 hours!) but then treated myself to a hair appt complete with head massage and mocha. then, picked up H from nursery and brought her home to find she is now walking properly! lately, she's just been taking a step or two just to please us. but today, she's been walking a lot a nursery and at home walked across the garden, down our hall towards the bath and everywhere. bless her, she looks so proud of herself (some may have seen the video I posted on FB, couldn't resist).

ok, have done some work and now must go to bed. sweet dreams all.

FiByTheIcySea · 05/08/2010 09:18

awww momino well done H! time to yourself and scraping the radiator did make me smile.. so watcha had done with your hair? :-)
omnom I think G & J are on the same wavelength except the teeth brushing which she finds v funny atm. we have one of those orange fisher price giraffe thingys which you feed plastic blocks.. pull the flap at the bottom and they tumble out.. rarely do the blocks go in on their own.. additions of anything else that fits goes in.. rubber ducks, her shoes, socks, little people, etc she also has a fascination with ds's old potty like H momino and putting all sorts of things into our washing basket and recycling bin.. you never know quite what you're going to find!
ses Missed your post about your extension.. sounds fantastic!
