Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
cherrytom · 16/07/2010 21:15

llaregub I love courgette cake, did you save us any ?
flipflop fingers crossed re your house stuff
belgina I imagine it must be very upsetting when bad things happen at work- hope you are ok

DP is out this evening so I am having a nice quiet evening, I made king prawn masala for tea (he hates prawns) it was yummy although J was less than impressed and chucked huge handfuls of it everywhere
Think I might have a glass of wine...
Am incredibly broody at the moment, I really want another baby. It's like a constant little mantra in my head today; I want another baby I want another baby Iwantanotherbaby

momino · 16/07/2010 21:17

oh, and H isn't walking any more. those couple of single steps she tood the other day were the last. she's not even attempted even with encouragement. I really want her to start walking as I think she'll be slower and (at first) easier to watch.

essenceofSES · 16/07/2010 21:23

Momino - how wonderfully reassuring for you that DD1 responded to seeing her new teacher so well

Belgina - ((((hugs))))

Talking - O is still just babbling but with lots of intent IYKWIM. No distinct words at all.

Hello saus, Reggiee, Tummum, Llare, Flip, Smokey, Fi, Febes and anyone else around!

All ok here - parents are being parents but nothing worse! Hospital managed to file Dad's notes though without making any follow up appointment
Oh also, Dad asked me to buy him a card for him to give Mum for her birthday next week as "I can't get to my wallet as it's upstairs and your mother won't let me have any money"

AF arrived so now officially ttc!!!

Going to a MN meet up in London on Sunday with my ttc thread! Hope the weather stays nice and dry.
Would be good to do a farewell meet up for Febes - would a weekend be best due to people's work commitments?
Febes - if you're still around afternoon of Tues 27th, would be good to do a mini meet up then. You and DC would be more than welcome here.

Right, I'm knackered so may head off to bed

essenceofSES · 16/07/2010 21:25

Hello cherrytom King Prawn masala sounds good!

belgina · 16/07/2010 21:36

Hi everyone

Thanks for the hugs and support. It's not birth related per se, but non the less devastating for the mum, baby and family involved. I keep thinking about it and counting my blessings and wondering what the heck I'm doing being away from them at work while I should be with them cuddling up together.

ses @ your meet up. I would like to join the TTC thread, but am not as not TTC Like cherry I'm currently attact by regular pangs of broodiness, lol.

There's a beer festival in the village at the moment and I couldn't park in front of the house. CAn you imagine that this is only 1 of the 2 beer festivals happening this summer!? What a village!

C's been refusing her evening time bottles recently (but not boob of course ) So I think I might just stop expressing now. She seems to be happily going to bed without anything when I'm not around. She still sleeps better after a dream feed too. I wonder if I'll ever manage to cut those out

Right. Going to have some food now. It's been a foodless shift once again.

Night everyone.

essenceofSES · 16/07/2010 21:47

Hi Belgina meet up is actually with previous ttc thread so there'll be about 8 mums, 8 babies aged 12mo-18mo, 8 older DC and 2 DHs!! Watch out London!!
Sorry for your work situation. Sounds tragic and v sad

flipflopsattheready · 16/07/2010 21:49

Evening all!

Fi - pink wine and crisps here! Although the crisps are disappointing, I dithered for ages over what to buy to go with my birthday wine but got it wrong. Sigh.

So my news. Hmmm. Nothing much really. we can't get the house we want because the vendor is dithering (but viewing three more over the weekend). DH home tomorrow. Slightly rubbish evening, the girls both fell asleep this afternoon so bedtime was all messed up - they were both bad tempered but not sleeping, what a great combination.

Hope everyon is well!

flipflopsattheready · 16/07/2010 21:54

Oh my word, about a hundred cross posts then...I think I forgot to refresh the page before I started typing .

Hello everyone! belgina, more hugs.

momino · 16/07/2010 21:55

hi all.
Ses, sweet of your dad to ask you to buy a card.

Belg, I had a devastating story in my job (booking antenatal courses) that made me so grateful for being able to see my children grow. it hits home when you see/hear/meet people with tragic events in their lives.

ttc saw lots of newborns today at our regular playgroup. was very broody and would have one in a second. but 1) am now 41 and tired and 2) DH has had the snip

essenceofSES · 16/07/2010 21:56

Hello Flip!
at dithering vendor! Hope some of your viewings over the weekend work out well.

Right DH is falling asleep in the arm chair so I think we both need to head off to bed.
G'night all!

flipflopsattheready · 16/07/2010 22:06

Oh, and ttc...I'm broody too, but it doesn't make any sense to get pregnant now, we need a bigger house (are you listening, dithering woman?!) and I struggle some days with the two I have. But then I have that completely irrational urge to be pregnant, give birth, have a newborn etc. Daft.

I've had a bit of a sad week in some ways. My next door neighbour has moved. They'd lived there for a few years but we'd never really got to know them, we were pregnant at the same time and her daughter is a couple of weeks older than A and we've got to be really good friends over the last year. She's first time mum and I think (not sure why!!) found it helpful talking things through with me, and she's good at listening so I'd let off steam with her. I'm really going to miss her, she came to say good bye yesterday and we both cried. The children were oblivious. She's only going 20 minutes down the road, but it's different to being next door.

febes · 16/07/2010 22:11

Ses Yes am still up for 27th. Also a London meetup would be good I'm around most weekends but have a wedding on the 7-8th August. When is everyone else free?

Flip Good luck for the veiwings tomorrow. A neccessary evil.

Belgian It is heartbreaking to witness other peoples hard times .

Well my news is that DD and R are the gruesome twosome and their plan is to destroy my house and spirit . No they are awesome and talk in a funny little language to each other and their favourite thing is to rip the couch cushions off our couch and jump like mad. Now I am seeing the benefits of having siblings close in age. I am very broody too.
I have lost 9lbs in the past month so pleased about that.
DH has been working loads so we are missing eachother and a bit snippy towards each other at the moment- only another few weeks until his work calms down again.
Thats about it I think .

momino · 16/07/2010 22:12

hi FLip, hug to you about your frined/neighbour moving away.

fingers crossed for the house situation.

febes · 16/07/2010 22:14

I'm really going to miss my next door neighbour too Flip. We've only been friends for less than 2 years but are really close. Its nice to be friends with your neighbour.

momino · 16/07/2010 22:18

9 lbs in the past month.. that's great, Febes!

FiByTheIcySea · 16/07/2010 23:16

hello sorry didn't make it back on.. my knitting has me totally addicted TTC I confessed to dh the other day that i was still broody.. he didn't say anything at all along the lines of another lo would never happen.. just that if i announced i was pregnant it would be either miraculous or he'd be asking me questions lol (our sex life atm is.. how do i put this?! err maybe.. sparse?!) mostly due to dh's under active thyroid thing not being sorted yet and i still don't have much of a libido we will get less sparse at some stage so can't rule out possibility of another lo.. except that i'm now 40 and i'd have to have a 3rd CS.

momino · 16/07/2010 23:19

Hi Fi. I'm still here but not sure why. I'm desperately tired andnow watching Mannequin , a good 80s film .

FiByTheIcySea · 16/07/2010 23:41

flip&febes hugs about missing your neighbours. hope the seller stops dithering flip & makes up her mind.

febes 9lbs! wowee that's fab!
momino great that dd1 was so excited to see her reception teacher.. our DS starts reception in sept too and sorta liked his settling in sessions but he's not showing any signs of excitement whatsoever! i've just been watching Johnathon Ross

right off to bed for me.. waves to everyone else cherry, ses and anyone i've forgotten x
cherrytom · 17/07/2010 22:21

hello- anyone about tonight?
Well done on the 9lbs febes
flipflop my neighbours DS is 4 months older than J and it was good being pg at the same time- both our DS's are at the same nursery and get on well. We are both thinking about moving and were talking today about how in a way it'll be a shame as it would be nice for the boys to grow up next to each other.
ooooo ses and anyone else ttc- hopefully we will both be pg soon
hosepipe ban announced here last week- it has pissed it down ever since!

momino · 18/07/2010 10:20

morning, echoing cherrytom, good luck to all TTCs. hope it happens soon. x

dd1 &2 have been so naughty/mischievous lately, disobeying, deliberately doing opposite to what I ask, making a mess of their bedroom, toys just for the sake of it...DH and I are at wits end today. don't know if it's a full moon?

to top it off, someone's slashed ours and 7 others' tyres (if you saw my fb status). how mean is that? why is that fun for some to vandalise? so mean.

anyway, I've been on a long therapeutic run with the dog, girls are now quiet, I'm having a bowl of porridge so all is well, actually. HOpe everyone is fine today.

Blottedcopybook · 18/07/2010 12:53

Aloha! Thank $Deity for the NC amnesty (although Saus, I laughed at your post on the previous page where you said you'd "did it" then in the next line said your bum is almost better!)

We've FINALLY got the keys for the shop and we've launched our site (if you'd like a nosy it's here) so fingers crossed it all takes off! It's just as well really as we have absolutely no money left and I was seriously starting to consider our options. Eeep!

Kids are all great here, Greer is running around fairly confidently and competently. She's a screecher though and my head is absolutely bouncing every evening before she goes to bed. I hope it calms down as her language develops.

momino · 18/07/2010 20:28

blotted, love the colourful website. fingers crossed for you and all best wishes for success!

llareggub · 18/07/2010 20:45

Evening all!

We've had a busy day; friends over for lunch. I made a chocolate brownie cake which was due out of the oven when I realised there was a bloody magpie in the house! I had to shut the downstairs internal doors to trap it in the conservatory and kitchen (all open plan) and summon DH from the loo to get it out. I do not like birds.

Thankfully, he managed it and the cake didn't burn. But the poor bird was getting quite agitated. Of course the boys found it thrilling.

So that was our excitment for the day. I made curry for lunch, a great recipe I found on the BBC Good Food website. The children loved it; chicken, sweet potato and coconut. Dead simple to do and one pot to wash up.

Got to tidy teh mess left behind by 2 three year olds and 2 one year olds now. It never ends, does it?

essenceofSES · 18/07/2010 21:15

Hello!

We had a great day meeting up with other MN mums and babies in London O ran off at one point to introduce himself to some tourists. I went and rescued him (as he got to them) and they asked if they could take his photo as he was so cute! A bit and

Got home and DH has cooked a lovely roast lamb dinner and I'm relaxing with a Bacardi and diet coke

Llare - I'd have been freaked out by that magpie! Glad it got sorted and you had a good day. That curry recipe sounds good. Do you have a link?

Blotted - I've had a nose at your website and it's really well put together. Also getting tempted to try something vaguely creative soon...

Momino - pointless vandalism
Hope DD1&2 calm down for you. Glad you enjoyed your run!

cherry - fingers crossed for you too! Whereabouts are you in your cycle? I'm only CD5.

Febes - 27th it is then I'll message you on FB.

Hello saus, Fi, Flip and anyone else around

llareggub · 18/07/2010 21:19

here we go Chicken, sweet potato and coconut curry. I love the BBC Good Food website.
