essenceofSES · 18/07/2010 21:24

Thanks Llare - that does look quite easy and quite healthy as well as really tasty!

Blottedcopybook · 19/07/2010 11:26

Thanks Ses and Momino - it's all Bob's handiwork and I'm so proud of him for it. I just hope we're as successful as we'd like to be although I'm feeling inspired after watching last week's Dragon's Den!

Momino Does your insurance cover the tyres?

Llare that looks amazing! x

FiByTheIcySea · 19/07/2010 11:52

morning

momino about your tyres
blotted bob did a great job on your website

hiya ses llare and everyone else.. have to dash.. pre school run then swimming.. back later x

FiByTheIcySea · 19/07/2010 18:41

well amazingly both dc's are in bed and fast asleep already! DS was back at pre school today as he was a lot better but still has a horrid cough (doc said not infectious though) G on the other hand is coming down with it as she is now off her food and grumpy just doesn't even begin to describe her mood!
so i now have my feet up.. cup of tea cooling to that perfect drinking temp and my knitting in my hands

runningmonkey · 19/07/2010 19:37

evening all,

DH out for the evening and A fast asleep so I'm taking advantage of some me time to catch up. Things are good here - off on hols to Wales on Friday so will soon be even better Gym is going well, I now have a proper program set up with the PT there so hopefully I'll be buff and beautiful v soon Saying that though, we're on the ttc train as well so if that goes to plan, I'll be round and wobbly for a little while longer

blotted great website. Its added to my bookmarks for next time I need some yarn (am banned from buying any more atm!)

Fi am intrigued by your knitting project, tell us more please!

llare thanks for the recipe, looks yum. I really dislike birds too (despite my surname!) I would have been petrified.

grr about your tires momi how annoying - is it worth claiming on your insurance or will it affect your no claims?

I'd be up for a farewell febes meet up too. Am on summer hols as from Wed this week so pretty free. Well done on the 9lbs as well febes, great going.

Hope tum is ok, saw the fb post about her DH.

Hi to everyone belg, flip and others I can't remember now hope all are ok.

FiByTheIcySea · 19/07/2010 20:42

hi runningm have a wonderful holiday.. are you heading north, middle or south wales. We can see wales across the bay on a clear day.. i'm definitely going to the bravissimo shop in Cardif when I stop bf eventually well done on the gym.. and TTC.

thanks for asking about my knitting project.. i'll be able to post pics hopefully towards the end of the week of the 1st part (&lots to go) that's very nearly finished. I started to design an A to Z blanket but it morphed into a collection of A for apple, B for ball, C for car etc squares. i'm doing the whole alphabet with probably lots more picture squares for people to choose from. Using 6 (alphabet & picture) squares i'm writing the patterns for a collection of cube shaped building blocks for use as toys. I'll write the blanket pattern using the same squares then a cushion or two.. and the patterns for each of the squares on their own. After all that is finished there's more I have planned (brain is working overtime atm)

runningmonkey · 19/07/2010 20:50

hiya fi we're going to my Mum's in Cardiff then off to Tenby for a few days. Really looking forward to it - both DH and I spent many childhood holidays in tenby (apparently at the very same caravan park - spooky!) so we're looking forward to going there again. I have just discovered the amazing place that is bravissimo (only took 5months post bf to get around to getting measured properly ) and discovered an amazing bra by panache which has done wonders for my figure - people have asked me if I've lost weight!!!

Your knitting project sounds AMAZING! I knitted a blanket for A that was made up of plain squares. Took my blimmin ages so can't imagine doing letters and patterns! Love the idea of the cubes particularly. Maybe I could give them a go should we be lucky enough to have a dc2.

llareggub · 19/07/2010 21:24

Yippee!

I can now tell my best ever Tenby joke:

How do you get to Tenby?

1B, 2B, 3B etc etc....OK, not funny AT all but the one my father used to tell us every time we went to Tenby as kids. Are you off to Kiln Park? I love Tenby and hope to head that way ourselves soon. I used to love the ice-cream parlour just within the town walls. Do you know that one?

Tummum · 19/07/2010 21:29

Hello all. Eventful day in the Tumm household. At 2am DH had hermoragge (can't spell) from tonsilectomy he had on Tuesday. Blue lighted into A&E, registrar shipped from nearby city and he had emergency op to stop bleeding. Took a couple of hours but now all is fine. Phew.

I'm gonna head off to bed. Haven't slept in about 40 hours.. feels like having a newborn all over again.

Fi your design sounds amazing

Running have a lovely break

Llare lovely reciepe - I'll try it soon (no spelling skills due to lack of sleep)

Sorry for short memememe post. Normal service will resume shortly.

Blottedcopybook · 19/07/2010 21:30

Fi Posting your parcel today (sorry! shop palaver meant I haven't managed to get to the post office yet I hope the kids are feeling better tomorrow. We had Erica at A&E twice last week with a cough so I completely understand your grumpy child comment!

Running Thank you!

My sister had her 20 week scan today and is having a BOY! So so chuffed, out of 9 cousins the only 2 boys are my two. Think my Mum is quite relieved haha.

FiByTheIcySea · 19/07/2010 21:36

flip bravissimo are great.. i've only ever done mail order so going to one of their shops will be C real treat for me and probably quite hard on my cc! :-) I'm really enjoying doing some knitting for a change and ikwym about blankets.. that's how it morphed into the cubes.. smaller project less time intensive to finish

FiByTheIcySea · 19/07/2010 21:38

Ooo lots of x posts!

belgina · 19/07/2010 22:14

Evening all,

Saw your fb status tummum Hope you can get some sleep and that your DH is better now. Must be really scary.

blotted Good luck with the shop. Your site looks great. V. tempting to buy yarn, but I need to finish my current project, which has been neglected for over a month, first.

fi Wow, your knitting project sounds complicated, but fun. Can't wait to see a picture of the finished thing

febes Woohoo 9lbs. That's great

momi about your tires. I just don't get pointless acts of vandalism like that. It causes so much hassle for the victims.

Everything is great here. My parents are here to help out with the dcs now my ap has gone and both me and DH are at work. C's as good as gold as usual.
Only 1more day of the dreaded cannulation course, followed by an early shift and then I've got annual leave! Hurrah. Can't wait to sit back and relax. We're taking the caravan to france again too, which we're all looking forward too.

Good luck to all you TTC ladies. Not at all, no not at all

Hi to everyone I didn't NC as well.

Night everyone.

FiByTheIcySea · 19/07/2010 22:15

tummum what a scare for you all x
blotted no worries about posting the needles.. i've ordered some of the art viva ones from Tasmania these and a spotty blue pair and I have a few pairs of 4.5mm already I just fancied trying some non metal ones..
llare lol at 10B
G woke up.. now back to sleep and prob lots more x posts now!

FiByTheIcySea · 19/07/2010 22:23

night night belgina glad you've only got one more day of the canulation course to go and must be lovely to have your M&D over for a while :-)

flipflopsattheready · 19/07/2010 22:27

tummum - that sounds worrying for you all, glad things ok now.

running - Tenby! Blast from the past! (Although we were terrible snobs and went to Saundersfoot more often than Tenby!) I remeber the ice cream parlour too - is it still there? My favbourite bit about beach holidays? The fresh ring doughnuts, yum yum. LOL llareggub!

blotted - fab website, and I liked reading the blog too. If I was remotely crafty I would buy something.

momi - grr about your tyres.

We might have bought a house! Made an offer today on a property that we liked (but not loved), it was accepted. Many good things about it - right catchment area, under budget so money to do it up a bit, bigger than current house...but it feels like a head purchase, not a heart purchase. Hope it's enough. DH likes it more than me; even so we are both acknowledging that it's just a stepping stone, not the destination, iyswim? Our pririties right now are the girls - this house gets them to a better schol and means I don't have to rush back to work any time soon.

I'm exhausted, it was a bit of a whirlwind of a day - and it the middle we went fruit picking! Got strawberries, raspberries and cherries. The girls loved it, DH and I had fun too.

Blottedcopybook · 19/07/2010 22:44

TumMum - Ugh! I saw your FB updates but hadn't realised your DH had an op. Thank God he's okay, I hope he recovers quickly - you poor thing, you must have been so frightened

llareggub · 19/07/2010 23:08

Blotted I tried to use your contact page on your website but it isn't working. I wanted to wish you the very best of luck with the shop.

Tummum Hope all well now.

Sorry to be brief but I'm off to bed, back tomorrow night with more time to say what I want to say.

Blottedcopybook · 19/07/2010 23:21

Thanks sweetie! I've got Bob looking into it xx

runningmonkey · 20/07/2010 09:26

Morning,
Sorry for dashing off last night. A woke up (again) think its more teeth

llare at 1b, 2b... My brother and I spent many an hour on the road there telling this joke to each other. I wonder how my parents didn't lynch us!

We're going to Lydstep this time but spent many a happy summer hol at kiln park when younger. I will definitely be paying the ice cream parlour a visit as it was another of our regular haunts - I'm sure I'll manage a small amount of ice cream in your honour of course

flip ooh get you with your Saundersfoot holidays, you is well posh great news about the house. When we moved when I was pg we made a head not heart move. DH and both commented that we are so glad now that we did it as we would have really struggled cash-wise if we had gone for the bigger place. I also now absolutely love our house and a big part of that is that we were able to afford to decorate it exactly how we wanted to so it is really ours. I really hope you come to feel the same about your move.

belg hope the last day of the course goes well and yay for annual leave

tum hope DH is ok today and you managed some sleep last night.

Have a good day all.

pulapula · 20/07/2010 13:52

Hello ladies, thought I'd better say hello rather than just lurk all the time

febes - congrats on losing 9lb so quickly - I have decided to start a healthy eating/exercise plan as I tried to get into my keans last weeek after all this hot weather and only 2 of my 4 pairs fitted , and i've got even more pairs that i used to be able to fit in....I am 11st 4 (I got down to 10 4 before christmas) and have a target of 10st.

belgina - if you want to stop dreamfeeding C, I recommend the method I used with DD/DS1. They were bottle-fed (not sure if C is BF or bottle?) but the basic idea is to give them the dreamfeed half an hour earlier than usual, and give them 1oz less than usual (if BF then try and stop sooner). Then if that doesn't affect their morning wakeup, after 3 days, move it another half hour forward and reduce by 1oz. Eventually you are just offering them their bedtime feed and they don't need any extra. With DS once we'd brought it forward to 9.30pm he took an oz and couldn't be bothered with it and still woke up at normal time, so we just stopped it then.

flip - congrats on the house buying - i don't see anything wrong with a head purchase- sounds like it's a very sensible plan for now, and like you say, if it's not a forever home, then sounds like a good move to me. We've decided to put moving plans on hold- with possible redundancies at work, and the fact that if we moved it would be to a forever home that pushes the budget to the limit, it is just too risky.

Tumm- hope DH is on the mend- he's been in the wars a bit lately hasn't he, and I'm sure it's been hard on you being his carer and with 3 young DCs too. Once he's better, you deserve some "me time" and a reward. I went to the spa again the other week, and it was loverley .

Anyway, better stop typing and get back to work!

pulapula · 20/07/2010 13:57

that should be "jeans" not "keans"

And momino - how annoying to have your tyres slashed. Hope you reported it. Our road was the victim of car vandals a few months ago - they slashed some tyres (luckily not ours) but generally just spray painted on the cars (luckily it washed off with some intense scrubbing).

momino · 20/07/2010 20:59

just catching up. have been called the 'evil queen from Sleeping Beauty' by the not-yet-3 year old. so, not a good day. ahem.

Flippin, I'm not doing so well in the buddhism for mothers mindset. i've read half of it but don't apply it in the heat of the moment. sigh.

llare, much needed at 10b. also, recipe for choc brownie cake, please?

Tumm, big hugs to you. such a tough time. hope you're all well.

Flip, a hOuse??? hurrah!!!! hope the rest of the transaction goes smoothly. how exciting for you.

ok, catching up post by post. be back later.

essenceofSES · 20/07/2010 21:31

Hello!!

Momino - Grr! for DD2's "insults". I'm dreading the day O turns round and says he wants me to go away or doesn't like me. I know it's one part of pushing boundaries but not easy! Have yourself a nice glass of something and a sneaky hug.

Llare - I also had a good chuckle at 10B

Tummum - hope your DH is continuing to recover well. Must have been v stressful. Have a sneaky hug too!

Flip - yay for hopefully buying a house! Hope all progresses smoothly

Pula - good luck on your healthy eating plan. I need to do the same really...

Belgina - great to have your parents over and some time off work coming up!

Running - hope you have a great holiday!

Hello Blotted, Fi, Febes
and anyone else lurking - Grumpy, Smokey, Dandy, Reggiee, Spangle, ReeBee, saus et al!

belgina · 20/07/2010 21:32

pula Thanks for the tip. Sadly I don't think it would work. C doesn't actually wake for the dream feed, but if she doesn't get it or gets it earlier she wakes earlier in the night. I.e. if she gets it at 11, she'll go through until about 4.30, but if she doesn't, she wakes at 1.30, which is sort of the same amount of uninterrupted sleep from her end, but of course much worse for us.

flip How exciting about the house. I hope you get it. It would be lovely if you could stay at home a bit earlier.

tumm I hope your DH is OK now

diet/healthy eating I really really should be doing that myself too. I eat far too much rubbish and not enough fresh fruit and veg. I'm guessing that's probably why I'm feeling run down and tired at the moment (+ the urgent need for a break)

I've probably forgotten a bit more. But claiming NC amnesty yet again. (So tired)
Night everyone
