ses.... thanks for claiming the NC amnesty that we all need! hope you're ok btw.

Cherrytom, H isn't walking yet despite being mobile from very early. She is also very, very fast at the crab-style bum shuffle.

BUT she has today taken her first step! She had a few other instances when she gingerly tried a step then plops down decidely with a big 'aaaah' as if it's all a game and she's not really meant to walk. she's very funny and knows it.

back to work.
hope everyone is well.

smokeybacon · 13/07/2010 10:54

Yes, come out of the woodwork grumpy sausage reebee reggiee muddled and dandy if you are lurking!! No need to NC. Just come and say hello. We miss you when you aren't around!!

And huge apologies to anyone I've forgotton

Yay to H momi there will be no stopping her now. R has been on his feet only 3 weeks and you would think he's been walking forever!

He is being a little monkey though. He has developed a penchant for pushing other sitting babies over. Maybe he is trying to tell them in his own way, its better on your feet?? EIther that or he is turning into a baby thug.

cherry R is a pointer too. Especially at lights and fans.

febes · 13/07/2010 13:47

Just went into school for a buffet lunch and they gave me a goodbye gift and made a fuss of me and I got all emotional.

I booked our flights yesterday and we leave on the 13th of September . Pretty excited but its so sad saying goodbye to everyone.

Glad I don't have to say goodbye to you guys as I can still MN from the other side of the world.

flipflopsattheready · 13/07/2010 15:56

febes - it's all getting very real now isn't it? Should we see if we can get another London meet before you go?

House situation looking hopeful! Back later to fill you in.

hopalongsausage · 13/07/2010 16:49

Helllllloooooooooo!!!!

Omg, I can't believe I haven't been on here in ages, I'm so sorry, and sorry not to namecheck. Was about to do a massive sit down with a cuppa and have a big fat read through, but M has just woken up, and I'd better go and say hello... she had her jabs earlier, ah bless.

Me in a nutshell:

  • Have been on holiday! (Menorca)
  • Got burnt and had prickly heat!
  • Did IT!!!! (three times!!!!)
  • Bum is nearly better
  • Hip is still wonky
  • M can say sausage! And can walk!
  • We have sold our house!
  • Now looking for another!
  • Going to have to live with my parents for a bit (for the love of God, WHY?!!)
  • DH has calmed down a lot since house is now going forward... although he is still stressed about it all.... gah.
  • Am going on a work conference in September! To Prague! Without child or husband!

What's the goss? Is anyone else 'with child' yet? We're going to start thinking about it towards the end of the year...

Ah she is properly crying now. Best go. But I will be back soon! (As they say in 'Oliver!')

Ahem.....

momino · 13/07/2010 21:27

sausage, don't worry - we've done a NC amnesty ! wow alot going on with you!

febes, lots of changes for you, too. Sep will be here before you know it!

flip, glad there's good news coming about the house situation.

smokeyb, can't help but at R's baby-tipping. just trying to picture...

H hasn't taken a step today. I think she thinks it's all a game. I also think she's too quick at the crab/bum shuffle that walking is going to be too slow for her .

hope all are well. x

flipflopsattheready · 13/07/2010 21:36

Hello, long lost sausage! Boo, yay, and wow as appropriate.

So, house. We've received a couple of offers this week, one low but just about good enough from first time buyers; one higher from a woman who hasn't sold her property yet. The seller of the house we want has lost the property she wants so is still looking, and won't accept an offer from us until she knows how much she needs, iyswim. So I'm just sat waiting until later this week after she's viewed some more houses. Aaarghh.

I had a lovely birthday yesterday - lots of nice surprises from friends looking after me!

Hope all ok out there.

flipflopsattheready · 13/07/2010 21:49

Oh, and forgot to say that I cried yesterday, DD1 sang happy birthday to me in Welsh!!! She's only been taught it once.

SpangleMaker · 13/07/2010 22:33

Hello! Can I join in with the NC amnesty? Back from holiday in Italy a few days ago, now back to work, boo. Holiday was great - stayed at my Dad & step-mum's house in Umbria so no cooking and cleaning , plus they had bought or borrowed virtually everything we needed for H so all we had to bring was a pushchair and a few clothes. Unfortunately DH and H both had a virus - H's resulted in stomatitis (sores/ulcers in the mouth) so could hardly eat for a few days, poor thing.

MW appt today and heard baby's heartbeat for the first time .

No walking here. H seems to want to master standing up unaided before he attempts to put one foot in front of the other - he stood for 5-6seconds yesterday and is getting more confident all the time. However, he won't contemplate holding our hands and walking, and he thinks his push-along trolley is for him to sit on and us to push him . He must have inherited my lazy gene .

Oops battery about to expire. Promise to try to catch up properly soon - in the meantime, and happy belated birthday to flip!

momino · 13/07/2010 23:18

Flip, that's lovely! glad you had a good birthday.

spangle at your holiday. where were you in Umbria? i was an AP in italy and the family I lived with had a house at Selvapiana in Umbria where we stayed for the summer months. 'twas beautiful, have fond memories.

great news at the heartbeat!

muddleddaizy · 14/07/2010 16:38

hello there! Just popping in quickly to say hi & take advantage of the nc amnesty! ds2 gets himself in2 all sorts of mischief & ds1 wants 2 know the ins & outs of everything. Phone battery is low so got 2 go, be back soon - i hope!

FiByTheIcySea · 14/07/2010 21:34

loving the NC amnesty atm but great to hear how everyone is and how n what our dc's are up to

DS has a grotty cough and cold.. had me up at 2am after only going to bed late at 00.45am (was knitting ) i'm in wk 4 of my C25K runs.. i'm finding this wk runs tough but i'm doing it (i just collapse in a heap on the couch when i get home to summon up the energy for a bath) just back from run2 wk4 .

I had to run into the wind for the first half of my sesh and it made it doubly hard as it was quite strong and blowing sand off the beach in my face.. great for exfoliation but not so good for my eyes! other hazards i've had to contend with during previous runs are.. hoardes of wondering pottery tourists enjoying a walk on the prom in a sunny warm evening. They also drive me nuts with the smell of the delicious take away fish and chips they're eating! oh and also sometimes seagulls divebombing for scraps.

G is running a month late with her jabs and just had her men booster i think it was last friday.. it's made her take lovely long naps in last few am's bless her. MMR will prob be next month sometime.

My top secret knitting project is coming together nicely now.. it's C biggy.. all i can say atm is it's a lettering based theme for toys, wall hanging, blankets and cushions.

how's everyone doing tonight?

FiByTheIcySea · 14/07/2010 21:54

Ooo awful typos sorry on my phone atm. it was just me up late last night.. DS had been asleep for hours before his 2am wake up.. and i meant a big project not C project!

llareggub · 14/07/2010 22:12

Happy belated birthday flip!

I have spent today nursing my poor poorly DS1, who has a sickness bug, poor mite. He can't keep anything down and has a high fever. I don't really know how I am going to cope with them both tomorrow if he is still vomiting; today I had the in-laws here looking after DS2 but I'm on my own tomorrow. Lucky old DS1 has avoided all illness so far apart from the odd cold, so I am a very inexperienced nurse!

I am also feeling completely stuffed after gorging on courgette cake. My neighbours gave me some courgette from their garden so I thought I'd try Nigella's recipe and it ain't bad at all!

FiByTheIcySea · 15/07/2010 08:22

llare hope your DS1 feels a little better today.. they're the most grotty bugs to get poor DS

i'm stuck in too as the HV Is coming round to do G's 1yr check (yes nearly 2months late.. they're a bit behind atm) this am and also will have DS1 at home again today as he coughed n woke himself up a lot last night again.. he's exploding with snot too.

Tummum · 15/07/2010 19:48

Sneaking on for the NC amnesty

I'm naffed off. DH had tonsils out on Tuesday, so whole week has been lots of messing about driving to school / work / hospital and nursing a very grumpy DH. Who looks after me ?? It's our 11th anniversary on Saturday. Any ideas for pressie for him? I haven't a clue

No news on California. Looking very unlikely now. Think DH might be going over for a week or two (on his own) when we come back from holiday. He'll probably be going over by personal jet (not his!!! the boss-mans) and I'm petrified at the prospect. It just doesn't seem safe to me. About 7 yrs ago DH's boss died in a plane crash (in Milan) and since then I've been very jumpy about flying, and it just seems unsafe not flying on a commercial carrier IYKWIM.

Llare how is DS2?

Fi impressive running

Saus exhausted just reading your list

Hello to Daisy, Momi, Ses, Belgina, Muddled, Smokey, Febes, Loobs, Flip, Spangle, Cherry, Running and everyone else I've forgotten

Hello all. I've had a day off work today (the kids at nursery) and this is the first time I've been on line . Been v busy doing those outstanding jobs, including sorting all dd and ds's clothes since birth into ebay / car book / charity shop / bin piles. Very nostalgic indeed. Took 4 bin bags worth of clothes to the charity shop.

Had a lovely holiday last week. We went to Northumberland (close to where the on-the-loose gunman was) but had a fab time. Lots of time on the beach.

Our wedding anniversary on Monday, and to celebrate we're off out to the races in York on Friday evening. Don't suppose you're going Momi?

Walking B still not interested in it, although we have progressed to cruising (and still the v entertaining bum hopping as main mode of transport).
Talking coming along nicely now. Tractor is the newest word. (disclaimer when I say 'talking', this is the loosest sense of the word. He actually says 'ac-er, ac-er, ac-er' whilst jumping up and down on the spot and pointing at them...)

So, does anyone have a mischievous dc with a wicked glint in their eye? It's a good job B is so cute, as he is soooo full on. And don't get me started on his recent progression to biting and hitting .

Off to see the consultant next week to see about an op for my prolapse. If I have the op, apparently I can't lift anything over 3kg for 6 weeks. Should make for interesting times with two lo's if that is true.

Hope all is well with everyone. Am enjoying the Tour de France - anyone else watch it?

Reggiee · 15/07/2010 19:53

Waves at Tum. How about taking dh to York races for your anniversary.....

belgina · 15/07/2010 22:11

Hi everyone,

Finally managed to get in. Via the front door and everything :D

Just got back from work and I'm a bit shattered, so I'm taking full advantage of the NC. Just that something's going on at work that makes me so sad and at the same time so happy to have my dcs and see them grow up. Can't go into details due to confidentiality and what not, but soooo sad

walking C's not very good at this. She's OK with her walker, but still very stiff and insecure. She actually always wanted to push the rickety old toy buggy with dd1's her baby in it, which is far to light and not make for unstable babies, so I thought I'd treat her and got her one of these, which she really really loves.

talking Still stuck at baby, lol. She's good at saying baby though. She still does boogabooga wooga and lately she also does wiggle wiggle

C had her last lot of jabs yesterday. She's a month behind with it all too.

Hope everyone is OK, especially you pg ladies AND houseselling ladies

Oh and I like the idea of seeing if we can have a leaving meet up for Febes

Goodnight

Tummum · 15/07/2010 22:41

Belgina sending un-Mnetty hugs, so for you to have to deal with difficult situations at work.

Tummum · 15/07/2010 22:43

thanks for suggestion . Think I'll treat him to a subscription to Cycling weekly or summat.

flipflopsattheready · 15/07/2010 23:30

Belgina, that must be hard.

tummum - how about a Singletrack coffee mug?! Collectors items, apparently. Or is DH a pure roadie? (Mine flirts with both!)

House stuff all stalled, the woman selling the house we want can't find anything she wants to buy, so our potential firt time buyers are getting really nervous. Knew it was all too good to be true!

DH back on Saturday, yay!

smokeybacon · 16/07/2010 08:24

belgina hope you're ok. Can only guess at the work stuff.

Early start for me this morning. R up at 4.48am. He missed out on his afternoon nap yesterday for various reasons, and conked out at 6.15pm, about an hour earlier than normal. Therefore he was up a tad earlier! Monkey. He is napping now. Not bleeding surprised! Could do with one myself.

FiByTheIcySea · 16/07/2010 19:56

belgina hugs xoxox sounds like a dreadful heart breaking event you've had to deal with.. my mind ran through my worst birth nightmares on reading your post and i can only imagine which it was to make you want to run home and hug your dc's and never let them go. How are you doing today?

Hiya to everyone else :-) what are you all up to tonight? x

momino · 16/07/2010 21:05

hi all. still basking in the NC Amnesty glow...
but will say, Belgina, hope you're ok.it sounds devastating.

last day of playgroup today for dd1. we've been going since she was a baby. it was lovely, we made our own ice cream cones, girls learnt more lessons in sharing dollies .

more importantly, on the walk home,we saw dd1's future Reception teacher walking by, dd1 was so excited! she waved, went over to talk, and was generally happy to see her. it was a far cry from the screaming she'd done when the teacher visited the preschool! i think dd1 will be ok eventually at school.

nothing on telly at this moment. have now switched to big bro but it's tough getting into it anew. don't know if i can be bovvered.
