Morning!

llareggub - work sounds a nightmare; hope it gets resolved without any more unnecessary stress. Respect for going through the grievance procedure, a lot of people wouldn't. Bosinver - there 9 adults and 3 children, so we had Jack's Barn and Olearia (wheelchair friendly, for my dad). The families with kids were in the barn. It was great, the kids loved feeding the animals, DD1 rode a pony for the first time and while she didn't whoop with joy she didn't not like it either. A loved the swimming pool and the trampoline.

belgina - glad work is feeling a little more comfortable for you, hope the run of normal deliveries continues! we have ants too, in the living room. I thought I'd got rid of them but every now and again I find another one. aaargh.

smokeybacon · 29/06/2010 12:58

Just seen loobys news. So sorry to hear that , Looby. to you.

I've not been on for what seems like ages, so need to do a proper catch up and then a NC.

All fine here. Bump is growing alarmingly quickly. Just wish I could get more sleep..........

Am at work and its now lunch time so will be popping back when I've been out for my sandwiches.

smokeybacon · 29/06/2010 13:58

Oh blimey. Where do I start with a NC????

It has to be reg and Jason Orange. Wowzer. Do elaborate!!!!

llare gah for your work. And big raspberry to your boss. The gall of it when he is in the Maldives.

blotted hope G is on the mend now.

belgina ants. Little buggers aren't they? Have no qualms in poisoning them.

Glad everyone who went on hols had a good time.

Any news on houses, fi and febes?

Embarrassing confession time. Have had to purchase Tena Lady panty liners today as everytime I sneeze a little bit of wee comes out. Must work on the pelvic floor.

R is walking!!! He started with his two steps about 2 weeks ago, and 4 days later was proper walking. As for talking, he is Mr Chat, but none of it makes any sense. The only thing that does is "look" accompanied by a finger point at something quite random.

Doula is coming for interview/visit on Thursday and once I have broached the whole thing again with DH, I will probably interview some maternity nurses too. I need to know a little more about the services each offers I think but the suggestion about what would benefit me the most it the best. Problem is I don't know what would other than one of them moving in full time forever!!

Right off to court again. In my gold flip flops. Just can't face putting my heels back on.

momino · 29/06/2010 18:44

I don't know where to start NCing either!

I'll start with Regg as well - I played the accordian as well (beginner)! actually, my dad was very good and after he passed away I felt badly it just sat there. I took a few months of lessons and can play In a Country Garden . hope you get that elec piano soon.

llare, that's absolute rubbish. hope you get it sorted before you get out of there. dumb employers.

smokeyb, hope the doula interview goes well. like the idea of one of them moving in!

Flip, bosinver sounds fantastic. Would love a holiday like that.

looby, thinking of you. x

Belg, it wil lbe nice to get a new AP, a fresh face to bring something new to the family.

PUla, you're doing great on fundraising for the race for life. Good luck on the rest of your training.

walking, congratulations to all the walkers, that's very exciting. H remains close to the ground and happily so. My theory is that, as no.3, she is determined to remain the baby. talking, she says the mamamam, dadada, hello/hiya usuals. she does a great duck quack, though .

I'm sorry, going to have to leave it there, hello to tummum, Febes, sausage, blotted, muddled, grumpy... and everyone else! it's time for bed and I'm MNing! how dare I?

I've had some kind of tummy bug and a bit poorly today. I somehow managed a 2 hour on/off nap whilst DDs watched telly. that helped a bit. now have to turn to the messy house since I've done nothing today. and messy children.

Tummum · 29/06/2010 20:10

Hello. Another post and run from me, I'm afraid. The bad news is that as of tomorrow DH is unemployed. It's a bit scary. The good news is that there is a (very small) possibility that we may be moving to California !!! I'm not allowed to talk to any RL people about it, so you get to hear me vent about it I'm afraid. I don't know what to think about it, I'm trying not to because the possibility of it all working out is remote. But exciting!

Smokey glad all is going well. How'd the interview go?

Momi hope you feel better this evening

Haven't heard from Febes for a bit - you OK?

Pula good luck with the run. I have been pondering signing up for a half marathon next year, but then I remind myself that I hate, no loathe running.

Flip how's the holiday washing going?

Belgina kill the buggers (ants that is...!). Glad the new ap looks good

Looby more for you

Right, gonna tackle the enormous ironing pile. DH is away tonight, so I get to go to bed early without being disturbed later. I'm starving (doing slimfast again). I hate diets. Byeeeeee

Tummum · 29/06/2010 20:12

To clarify Belgina - when I said glad ap looks good, I didn't mean looks good / gorgeous.... I means will be good for your family IYKWIM. Oh bugger, I can't sleep or think straight ATM

OP posts:
llareggub · 29/06/2010 20:34

Tummum ooooooooooooooooooh! I've sent you a message on fb about your very exciting plans for ironing California.

Thanks for the messages about work. Yes it is all a bit crap and I've ranted at length to our Head of HR today. Embarrassingly I slammed his door open on my way out because I thought it was a heavy door but it wasn't. I think he thought I did it purposefully so I felt a bit silly when I tried to explain. Hey ho. Anyway, my proper boss is being very lovely and supportive and we have Plans To Make it Right. Could all be academic anyway as the Leadership Team are going to ask everyone to consider a career break or reduced hours so I may think about that instead.

smoky how about a mothers help?

flip we've stayed in Coliza, (the thatched one) Trerose and Laburnam. We're really hoping to get back there in September. We were there in October when I was pregnant with DS2 and we managed to use the pool every day.

browsers I use Firefox too, and switch to Safari on the odd occasion that Firefox plays up.

fi how is C25K going? I may go out for a run later if I can face it in the heat!

walking no unsupported walking here. DS2 is happy pushing his little fire engine around and climbing up stairs but no walking yet. DS1 is desperate for him to start!

runningmonkey · 29/06/2010 20:54

Hi all, v quick from me too. I am artempting to lurk but no time or energy to do much else I'm afraid.

loobs so sorry about your mum. Thinking of you xx

febes · 29/06/2010 21:38

Evenin' all

Have been lurking but finding it difficult to post between work and kids and house stuff.
News about our move- We still haven't exchanged but I think it will happen this week. Our buyers want to move in august now rather than july sooooo we have decided not to find a rental so we are going to stay with friends for a month while DH works and I run around tying up all the loose ends of our decade in the UK. I'm so excited to be going home but sad to leave all my lovely friends. Only 2 months to go!!!!

R is now walking full on. I have cut down his feeds to once a day in the past few days which he doesn't like but I hope he will get used to as I want to stop completely in a few weeks. DD can now climb into his cot so after removing her about 5 times last night we put her in our room to fall asleep. Luckily they went straight to sleep tonight.

This hot weather is taking it of me and DH is working loads including nights away. He only has 1 day off in about 6 weeks and that will be next week sometime.

flipflopsattheready · 30/06/2010 22:32

Evening all!

We had a viewing this evening! Seemed fairly positive, but who knows. Also saw a bloke in a jeepy kind of car with personalised plates checking out our house this evening - DH reckons it was a developer/buy-to-letter.

A's sleep is so random atm - about every third or fourth night she'll sleep until about 5, have a feed then go back to sleep but then the rest of the time it varies from disturbed to dreadful. I can't work out any kind of pattern so am assuming it's teeth. On the plus side I'm finally tackling feeding to sleep! I do feed her, but not until she's asleep, I put her in the cot awake and do various things until she goes to sleep. Early days yet, but I'm hoping that things will improve on the whole.

Hope everyone is ok!

belgina · 30/06/2010 22:36

Flip C's the same at the moment. The night before yesterday she slept through from 7-6 for the 1st time ever in her little life and last night she was tossing and turning and really restless waking up 3 times. I'm assuming teeth too as 1 of her molars is as good as completely through now, a canine has come through 2 and 3 other molars are partially through. Poor thing. That's just too many teeth in one go.

Everything all right here otherwise. Hope everyone is OK too

llareggub · 01/07/2010 09:32

For the first time in MONTHS DS slept from 12 until 5ish. I feel like a new woman!

Blottedcopybook · 01/07/2010 10:43

I've sent G into nursery today, I sincerely hope I don't get a phonecall telling us to pick her up. She did a semi solid poo this morning which garnered a ridiculous amount of cheering from us.

I hope she doesn't expect us to cheer like that every time she poos...

essenceofSES · 01/07/2010 20:47

Sorry for going AWOL for a few days - just really busy but all fine

Febes - we really should try and meet up again before you move! I'm normally free Tuesday afternoons if that's any use to you?

Blotted - hope G was ok in nursery today. I did grin at the thought of you all cheering at her semi solid poo

Llare - yay for sleeping!

Belgina and flip - sorry you're having disturbed sleep

Flip - hope you've had some good feedback or even an offer or two?

Looby - thinking of you. Hope you've got some RL friends supporting you too.

Smokey - hope you're doing ok and not too much. Llare's suggestion of a mother's help seems worth looking at as an option?

Tummum - California??!!! Wow!! I know it may not come to anything but just the thought is v exciting!

Hello Fi , Running , Momino , Pula , Reggiee and anyone else I've missed!

flipflopsattheready · 02/07/2010 08:52

Hello! waves at everyone!

blotted - hope G is ok and lasted the day at nursery.

We've got three viewings tomorrow, and one of those is the couple who came round the other day coming back with their parents!!!! Fingers crossed something will happen. The house we want is still available.

Bad night again, .

febes · 02/07/2010 10:45

Ses I'd love to see you and O again before we leave. I'm working this Tues but maybe next? I can come to you this time if you want.

Flip 2nd viewing with parents sounds very promising to me!!

I went out last night for a curry and got alot bit pissed so feel squiffy today but luckily R wanted a morning nap and DD is playing calmly and quietly.

momino · 03/07/2010 20:01

Febes, Flip, good luck with the house and moving stuff.

Febes, please try to keep in touch with us (via MN and/or FB) when you move. I can't wait to see how things go with you...it's very exciting!

I will be posting intermittently in the meanwhile. easier to do post by post.

momino · 03/07/2010 20:02

Tumm, any news on calif? spill, spill! I'd move there in a heartbeat. would love to go north or south of LA (like San Diego). maybe someday. If you go first...

momino · 03/07/2010 20:10

llare, that's an excellent sleep! hope you feel better for it.

Belgina, hope C is less restless soon and her teeth give her a break.

blotted, hope G was ok at nursery.

momino · 03/07/2010 20:21

just working tonight with a glass of sparkling (the ONLY way to work from home) .

of course i'm finding MN and FB a distraction.

had a lovely day at an adventure park in York with the grandparents. I watched a lot whilst the grandparents did most of the physical work of going up and down slides, swings etc. it was relaxing.

it was so nice to have a good day after a rough week. i've found it really tough to deal with 4 year old dd1 who's sensitive, moody, tantrummy, clingy, etc. also had an incident at preschool where she screamed at a visiting teacher so they called me to figure out how to help her. then I think about how i've screamed at them more than a few times and even made them cry - she's learnt to be so highstrung from me ( again). it always makes me question my ability to be a good mum. anyway, thanks for your FB messages, am feeling better today and vow to try harder to be a relaxed mum. not easy is it?

momino · 03/07/2010 20:22

hi Ses!

febes · 03/07/2010 21:02

Momino will definately still be on MN when we go home. I might be missing in action for a few months when I'm in SA but I'll be baaaaccckkk .

I didn't feed R at all today. I had cut him down to one feed a day in the last week and today I decided not to offer at all. He did 'ask' this morning but I distracted him. So that's it I guess. but I think.

momino · 03/07/2010 21:08

wow, Big Step, Febes, on the last feed. I can imagine your but I do think it's a bit liberating which is good. I was a bit sad but feel a bit more myself. H was not having any of it anyway.

febes · 03/07/2010 21:25

R LOVES it so that makes me feel sad but I am feeling like I want to have a break as I've been PG or BF since Feb 07 and will TTC after Christmas for no 3 so it will be nice to have a few months off. I am also trying to lose weight (7lbs so far) so maybe giving up BF will help .

R has a mini trantrum when denined a feed but hopefully he will forget about it in a few days.

essenceofSES · 04/07/2010 08:59

Morning!!

Drama here as my Dad's in hospital. In summary he has a suspected GI bleed (so endoscopy tomorrow) and a fractured foot. I'll bore you with the detail later if I get chance (and how frustrating my mum is being!)

Febes - I'm sure R will have forgotten in a few days but he'll be fine. Can't wait to catch up and see how he (and A) have grown
Having said Tuesdays are good, I can't do the one after next (13th?) but could do 20th? You'd be more than welcome to come here

Momino - happy birthday!!
Sorry about your tough day. Please don't blame yourself for DD1 - I'm sure the ability to scream and strop is an unbuilt part of all of us (especially 4yos!) having seen you with your 3 beautiful DDs twice now, I know you're a great mum and I'll be coming to you for tips when we (hopefully!) have DC#2!

Hello to everyone else. Sorry not to NC properly but want to try and have breakfast and head off to church. Will try and get on again later.
