Loobylou36 · 26/06/2010 22:27

FiByTheIcySea · 27/06/2010 10:25

right going to try a better NC

momino very impressive piano playing :-) which tune is next? commiserations about USA's football result but at least we've england left
ses how is O now? hope you had a wonderful anniversary.
belgina clever C with her walker. so cute :-) and TTC soon i'm still really broody but we have no plans.
reebee what a difference enjoying your job must make to your day.. although it still won't make it any easier to leave F i expect.
llare how are you doing? have you recovered from your dh less dc time?
blotted how is the vomiting fest going? has B forgiven you yet for your giggles at N's exorcist impression?
waves hello to everyone else febes cherry and anyone else lurking
here we're good. I started the couchto5K last weekend and i'm really enjoying it!! I start week 2 tonight and i'm a tad nervous. will be fine though i'm sure
G is really cute.. her favourite toy atm is pushing her giggle and tickle baby annabel around in an old elc dolly pram and she's getting quite fast & determined so woe betide us if we get in her way! oh and never leave any underwear, clothing, shoes and bags unattended or she's off with them lol she's such a girl.. bags.. shoes .. definitely got those genes from me

flipflopsattheready · 27/06/2010 12:01

Please forgive the lack of namechecking, I'm up to my eyeballs in washing but A is asleep and DH has gone shopping so I'm sat in the garden doing nothing!

Lovely holiday, but not relaxing really, sigh. Family are a bit wearing at times. On the recommendation of llareggub, we went to Bosinver - self catering cottages on a farm near St Austell. It was great for kids, pool, animals, play barn. we had great weather, I look quite healthily tanned now.

There's been a few viewings of the house while we were away, but no offers yet. I haven't actually spoken to the agents, so I call tomorrow and see if there was any feedback. Expect there is and it won't be good!

flipflopsattheready · 27/06/2010 12:02

Oh, and forgot to say that A is talking! Well, she calls all birds 'duck' and all other animals 'dog'. Or it might be that all things moving that aren't people are ducks and I'm just imagining different sounds

FiByTheIcySea · 27/06/2010 13:11

Awww flip well done A.. G's only words are still mama and dada.. with lots of gibberish. holiday washing mountain.. the only problem about going on holiday imo. glad you had a good time even if it wasn't totally relaxing with the rellies. great news you've had some viewings. we're still hoping someone wants to buy our flat..we had another 2 viewings last monday. feedback from one was the flat was great but he wanted a lift (we're in a converted 1890's former church rectory building) the other couple loved it and got the agent to phone up and ask me lots of stuff.. how much our gas.. electric.. council tax.. management fee's etc were.. then haven't heard a thing since

muddleddaizy · 27/06/2010 19:39

Hi there!
Am trying 2 type this on my fone so it will b quick.
Loobey, so sorry 2 hear about ure mum. Hope u r getting good support.

Thanks 4 all those who asked about my back/hip. Its much better at the moment. Ive started taking cod liver oil, not sure if its helped or not!
Flip glad u had c good holiday. No what u mean about not being relaxing!
Fi hope the house sale happens soon!
We thought ds2 had an mmr rash, took him 2 the dr yesterday & its impetigo- oops. Got 2 phone the nursery tomorrow! Hes on antibiotics it seems such a lot. 5mls 4x day. We rarely get more than half in!

Hopefully ill b back soon 2 name check properly.
Hope all are well!

Reggiee · 27/06/2010 21:41

Evening all. Long time no hear. Hope everyone is doing well.

Well, the footie was crap wasn't it. England totally underperformed over hyped all tournament. 'nuff said.

I've been away for aagggeeesss. Usually lurk but not much of interest to say really .

Looby So sorry to hear your news . Take care . The next few days will be very tough. We're all here for you.

Muddled lovely to hear from you. Scary about a potential mmr rash. Hope ds feels ok.

Fi your current house sounds lovely. A converted 1890s church building - v nice indeed! Hope you sell soon though to someone who falls in love with the house.

Flip hope the washing is going well. At least it is perfect drying weather! Indeed sitting the garden watching the washing dry is a perfectly acceptable pasttime this afternoon . Am not sure how relaxing a holiday with the lo's at this age can be. My hols in a Northumbrian cottage begin next Saturday. Am looking forward to it, but also want to chill, which I'm not sure will be forthcomig....

Talking we get car and cat, plus some good sound effects including quack and brrrrum! Dd was a good early talker and a late walker, and it looks like ds may well follow in her footsteps.

Fi am tempted by couchto5km. Just rejoined the gym (new gym and pool at work which opene last month). I've been swimming c 3 times a week, but need to progress to the gym. Gladit's all going well.

ReeBee . Yup, I know the feeling. Too much to do, too little time, lots of niggles etc. My job is part time but was away two nights last week and have one night awaty this week. It's tough going atm, but can't wait for mid-July when my work goes quiet for a month. Sigh.

Belgina how were the night shifts? And v v exciting re ttc!

Llare how you doing? I'd love another dc but it's a definite no from dh. I'd be v confused with a +ve/-ve pg test. Soubnds like you had a lovely few days away with the boys despite the additionl work.

Cherry Long time no see! The sax is a fab instrument (although it reminds me of bad 80#s bands...). Wish I could play it.

Hi there Momi! Soulnds like you're working hard atm. Didn't know you (used to)play the cello. And good on you for taking up the piano. I love all musical instruments. Although I very recently freecycled our piano as it took up too much room and needed the space for the kid;s clutter. Dh was v pleased to see it go but I told him I'm getting an electronic piano in a few years. I used to play the oboe and piano as a youth (and accordian but that is quite comical). Am v v impressed you have learned that piece via youtube video!!

Evening ses! How much alcohol did you consume then ? Can't remember the last time dh and I had a date but we really really need one. We have been v grumpy with each other lately. Your dh got some lovely gifts for your anniversay. Hope you had a lovely evening. And hope Megan has recovered from her incident.Has O been ok this week btw? Saw your FB updates.

Smokey how you doing? Hope you are keeping well.

Hello to everyone else I haven't managed to nc, and all those (like me) who lurk. Life really does get in the way of MN.

All is ok here. B is a little monkey but ridiculoously cute - he is sooo cuddly, but sometimes wants me a little bit too much (quite clingy). He is still a way off walking, and has only recently started pulling himslef up. Am quite chilled about this as he seems a classic bum shuffler 9ie no need to walk as his hands are free as he hops around on his bum. He is pretty good with his hands (good with his shape sorter). His hair is growing v v curly and in ringlets which is a surprise (same as dd but for some reason a bit unexpected).
I'm ok. Work has been full on for both dh and I, with a lot of late working and juggling childcare for both of us which has been stressful.
But some of you will have seen on FB about my night away wiht my girl friends a couple of weeks back, where by some bizarre twist of fate, Jason Orange (take That fame in case you need to know!) came to join us for our evening meal {shock] . I'll dine out on that story for some time!

Loobylou36 · 27/06/2010 22:33

re talking M does the usual mama, dadda, hiya, bye, ta ta, doggy (oggy), ta, plus lots of gibberish
she's not walking yet but don't think it will be long

reggie jason orange = yum

llareggub · 27/06/2010 22:57

Just a quick post to say hello to Looby and to say how sorry I am to hear about your mother. I hope you are looking after yourself.

pulapula · 27/06/2010 23:05

evening ladies.

Looby- sorry to hear about your mum. Take care of yourself and thinking of you.

talking- S still doesn't bother saying mama but says "dada" a lot, talks a lot of gibberish and apparently said "cake" today so DH reckons and it wouldn't surprise me . He is getting more confident on his feet and is starting climbing a lot too (stairs, onto sofas, low beds etc) so needs watching all the time now, although he is quite good at manouvering round to lower himself off things legs first.

Only 2 weeks til my race for life and i've collected around £300 sponsorship so i must do it! Not been running for a couple of weeks as my knees were really sore afterwards, but have now joined a gym and been swimming and done some gentle exercise to improve my fitness. Anyway, time for bed. enjoying Stevie Wonder at Glastonbury but work in the morning, so better get some shut-eye.

flipflopsattheready · 28/06/2010 08:49

Morning all!

I enjoyed Stevie Wonder at Glastonbury too! Got to bed too late, and then had a shocking night with A; think she's teething again.

looby - hope you are ok. Thinking of you.

pula - that's a lot of sponsorship, well done!

reggiee - that must be the NC post of the year! Lovely to hear from you. Jason Orange for dinner sounds v bizarre!

climbing babies/todlers - eeeek! A is good at getting up, very much less good at getting down. Because of our massive declutter she can reach a lot more than she used to be able to and is always on a mission. She's also worked out that if she moves certain things she can use them to climb higher.

Quick techie question for you - which internet browser do you use? We've always used IE, but for some reason it's stopped working. Now I'm sure I could solve the problem, but it seems like a good opportunity to try something else as I know that a lot of people think others are better.

FiByTheIcySea · 28/06/2010 10:37

reggie amazing NC! I remember your night out with jason orange (and that I had to google him as i'd forgotten who he was!!) did your friend who chattered to him the most keep in touch?!
pula wow great fundraising.. i'm sure you'll be great in the run for life :-) we have the same problem with G climbing it's a nightmare at times. great choice of new word Cake
flip i'm on my phone most of the time these days but when on the laptop I like firefox. fingers crossed A has a long nap today despite the teething so you can get a min or 2 to yourself.
muddled Arrrgh impetigo hope it clears up soon x

muddleddaizy · 28/06/2010 12:27

We use firefox too. Our car died last week so we are on the hunt for a new one. Does anyone have any suggestions? I want a reasonably small car with a big boot!

flipflopsattheready · 28/06/2010 12:51

Oh no, muddled, what a pain. We have a CMax. Slightly dull but very practical; DH assures me that it's actually pretty good to drive too.

Blottedcopybook · 28/06/2010 20:07

Oh Looby I'm so sorry about your Mum love. You've not had the best year of it really have you? xx
Fi and Belgina G is STILL not better, would you believe it? And dire rear today means she can't go to nursery again tomorrow so that's 3 weeks worth of nursery fees down the pan. ARGH! Nairn and Erica were both sick on Saturday but seem better today and I have papped Findlay off to his Granny's for the start of the holidays so that he avoids it.

Buggies I just bought an OBaby because it looked vaguely Cath Kidston-esque but I've had to send it back already because a bit was broken on it. BUT, Mothercare dispatched a new one immediately so I can't complain really.

Fi B has forgiven me just about but he's just started with the dire rear. UGH! How are you getting on with the C25K? I did day one of week one, thought I was doing really well then my podcast told me I was only HALFWAY THROUGH?! Fuck that, I'll just stay fat ta

Flip We use firefox

Greer is walking! I'm so chuffed, she's toddling about all over the place and I can't believe how quickly she's become steady. About blooming time!

She's chatting away quite a bit, she babbles away almost constantly and she's a total mimic (earlier, Bob covered his mouth and burped and she did the exact same thing then pretended to burp. You had to be there I guess!) Distinguishable words we have so far are: Daddy, Nairn (NNNNNNERRR'), hiya, ta-ta & ta applied correctly, duck (DUH! DUH!), woof, teeth, doggy and she repeats a lot. In France the other kids were going on and on pretending to be daleks and Bob and I swear blind she said exterminate too. At the very least, she copies the flow & syllables of words.

I'm pretty pleased that her language is so advanced when it took her so long to do everything else!!

Blottedcopybook · 28/06/2010 20:09

Oh - Muddled I had (and loved) a Toyota Corolla before I had the girls and I absolutely adored it. Clearly designed by someone who looks at cars for practical purposes.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 28/06/2010 21:07

Hey all just wanted to give a hug to loobs. I'm so sorry about your mum xxxx

I will come back tomorrow. Promise

momino · 28/06/2010 22:16

I will catch up soon but wanted to come on here to say to Looby, I'm so very sorry. no other words I'm afraid. hugs to you as well.

really busy working but will try to come back on later. hope everyone else and DC's are ok.

llareggub · 28/06/2010 22:20

Gah. Need to vent but I won't go overboard because Loob's news puts it very much into context.

I've been given a pay cut. A very significant pay cut which goes right to the heart of the employment contract and makes me feel like there is absolutely no way I can carry on in the role. I won't bore you with the background but let's just say that this is a last straw in a long line of boring problems that make me feel as valued as a piece of dirt. DH wants me to resign and I will once I've appealed and gone through the whole tedious grievance procedure. Gah. Oh, and the ironic thing is that my manager couldn't deliver the news in person because he's swanned off to the Maldives.

Talking we've had "again" and "hello" and "bye bye" as well as mama and dada. He definitely understands quite a bit. I just wish he'd understand "sleep" and "all night." Last night he was awake between 1 and 5, so my morning started at 4am when I took over from DH.

flip I hope you liked Bosinver. We love it there and we're hoping to get down there in September. Which cottage did you have?

Tummum · 28/06/2010 22:37

Gonna post and run tonight, life a bit hectic. Sorry for being crap.

Looby I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope today was bearable. Hugs.x

Llare hugs to you too. Sounds like a very distressing situation to have to deal with.

Flip glad you had a nice holiday, although IKWYM about not really having a break... I was knackered after our trip to Devon, but still nice to be in a different location

Talking none here, except 'Hiya' and 'Dada' to everyone important , and no walking either. Am a bit of those with LOs being very clever.

Blotted hello & hope the sickness fairy leaves your house very soon

Hello also to Fi Muddled smokey Momi reggieebelgina and pula sorry for not NC-ing properly.

OP posts:
belgina · 28/06/2010 23:05

A quick hi and then bed as still recovering from my 3 nights last week and the evil off duty gave me a sleep day yesterday and an early today

looby about your mum. I hope you're OK. She's been suffering for a long time I noticed, so at least that's over now.

reggie Amazing NC. I had no idea who Jason Orange is, but I take your word for it that he was in Take That

llare How annoying about your work. Hope the grievance thing goes quickly and easily so you can leave the place soon.

blotted hope G gets better soon.

flip I use IE and it's been fine. I used to use Firefox, but it didn't seem to like MN and I can't have that. Haven't had any troube with MN since back on IE. How about trying FF or maybe re-installing IE?

talking C seems to be stuck at mama () "bebe/bay/baby" All of which mean baby. Though she seems to use it for anything with a round cute smiley face. Other than that she's non stop jabbering about all day while pointing and gesturing and using intonation. Quite funny as she really sounds like she's talking without actually using any real words. THe ap was saying that just before I came home from work C seemed to be using her baby doll to explain to the ap that she was really fancying a bit of boob She definitely told me so the minute I walked in, so you never know, lol.

walking Just using the baby walker now, but much more steady with that now and she even managed to pull herself up on it while it was standing in the middle of the room. Still needs 2 hands to hold on to though.

Work's been fine for me. I'm getting on better and getting to know colleagues a bit better. LW is going OK so far and I think I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things, feeling a bit more positive. It definitely helps that I've had a run of lovely normal deliveries.

We also had our future ap to visit. She'll join us mid august and she's lovely. More lovely than the current one from what I found. The current one can be a bit moody. She was definitely so today. I got home and she looked grumpy. I had to go to the dcs school for a parent-teacher evening, so sort of suggested she'd cook, but she was clearly determined not to and stayed firmly in her seat reading She does get like that sometimes. She feels tired, because she's not sleeping well at the moment due to the heat and doesn't feel like doing things, so she doesn't. 95% of the time she's fine, but sometimes like today I feel like pulling the face at her.

Aagh... stupid stupid ants. They've invaded the living room, around the window area where the computer is and they're climbing all over me. I've vacuumed and poisened. I hope the poison works soon, because they're an absolute nuisance at the moment.

Right night everyone. Hope you're all OK
