hey hey hey folks- happy birthdays to all the big 3yr olds!!!

liath · 15/04/2010 19:07

Hi everyone and happy birthdays to all our babies big three year olds. I hope everyone is ticking along. I can't believe ds will be 3 tomorrow, seems like no time since I was sitting like a whale and grumbling about going overdue.

Potty training is like 1 step forward 2 steps back with ds, don't know if it's a boy thing as dd seemed a doddle in comparison .

Sorry to have been crap at keeping up with this thread, not sure where the time goes these days.

CaptainDippy · 15/04/2010 23:07

Nice to "see" you weeonion and Liath

ScarletBandit · 16/04/2010 10:51

Nice to see you on here liath and weeonion, hope all is well with you

I am going to bed now, worked last night so am a bit tired, but I can stay in bed most of the day as my mum has the dc's which is bliss

StealthPolarBear · 16/04/2010 15:46

Hi Weeonion and liath
liath, hope J is having a good birthday

CaptainDippy · 16/04/2010 19:37

Happy Birthday Robyn, Jonathan and Ernie!! Hope you are all having super days

My girlies and I had a lovely time at soft play today with Bramshott and her girlies Yes, I really did take a big sharp knife, Stilton, Brie, Crackers and a Caterpillar birthday cake into soft play with me We enjoyed blowing out candles and generally running around like loons getting hot and sweaty (them, not us - we drank coffee and got the shakes instead ) Thank you for coming Bramshott!!!!

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 17/04/2010 08:50

that sounds lovely Do your soft play not mind - I had to smuggle cake in last time!

phdlife · 17/04/2010 10:57

is there a pic, dippy? I find I am developing an untoward interest in other people's birthday cakes. I think it is stealtsquiggle's influence

I had a little poorly dd here today and had to discover the joys of paracetamol suppositories. (It's true - you CAN slip them in while they're sleeping and they don't wake up! )

And a ds in tears at bedtime because his pj's didn't match, on account of the shirt being in the wash after he wore it all day. It's going to be a long year isn't it

CaptainDippy · 17/04/2010 12:39

Your DS sounds like my DD2, PhD - can't cope with things not matching or having the "wrong" spoon at breakfast etc .... Hope you poor DD is better ASAP, I have a poorly DD1 today, all hot and floppy .... and her breath mings!!! Yuk!

Bramshott took some pics, so maybe still display some You become my friend on FB PhD - my DH makes great B-day cakes. I am afraid I cheated and bought the Caterpillar cake from Sainsburys

Gotta buzz, lunch .....

oooggs · 17/04/2010 20:25

we are back, fab hols, fantastic weather and great company (most of the time - anyone want a 3 year old girl? )

Jack went to hospital and he is fine now - but I was scared. I happened at the begining of the hols when dh wasn't there. He had been wheezing all day and coughing, he went to bed fine, but by 11pm he was shaking, shivering and gasping for breath.

I was very worried and rang the oncall dr. The wanted him at a&e which is fine but we were on a camp site in the middle of nowhere, it was very dark and I had to get there on my own!!!

Jack was sick in the car then went to sleep, so at least he was quiet

So while my mum stayed with other dcs in the caravan (never left Luke overnight before!!) I followed directions given by the bloke in the office at the oncall centree who said that if I got lost to ring him back and he would come and get my and guide me in (nice bloke)

Walked into a&e (thankfully Lukes pushchair in boot cos wouldn't have been able to carry him) - they were expecting us, saw a dr straight away who thought it was pneumonia. Paed. down within 10 mins and on ward within 20 min!!!!

Shocked - don't get this service at home!!!!

Had a ward to ourselves and we shared a single bed, his stats were low and he was given prednisolone (sp?) & sabutamol (sp?) by morning he was better and we were home by lunchtime - I was shattered

He has been an angel all holiday and Erin a little menace - she is such hard work

I will catch up later and fil you in on some of the nice stuff

Thanks for worrying and for ange & mj for texting me x

CaptainDippy · 18/04/2010 09:24

ScarletBandit · 19/04/2010 10:46

Morning!

Oooggs, glad the rest of the holiday was good. Know what you mean about Erin being hard work, F is exactly the same, so stroppy and willful it can be waring a lot of the time!!
As a mother of a girl and a boy I have to say that boys are so much more easy going than girls, and girls are so much more independent from very early on (in my house at least).

Happy Birthday to all those I have missed over the last few weeks It seems like ages since F's birthday as she is one of the early ones.

My baby is going to school on Wednesday
I have to say that I really feel quite sad about it. She can't wait to go though, every day we drop ds off she asks if it is her turn today. I have all her school uniform ready in the cupboard, she is going to look so grown up.
I am going to be one of those mums sobbing at the school gate!

CaptainDippy · 19/04/2010 11:25

Awww, SB, sooo wickle!! She'll be fine, I am sure She'll always be your baby!!!

BRAMSHOTT - I've sent you a text!!!! I'll take quite a few of those bits of my bestest buddy and my adorable little Godson!!! I'll not be taking your Lilets though cos I am a Mooncupper too!!!! Let's Weave Those Lentils!!!!

Hello All.
Not sure if you'll remember me, but I was an April thread mummy, and G (DS2) was born on 28th. Just popped in to say that I hope you are all doing well. G is fine, a total monkey (in the climbing and the naughtiness stakes), and is very beautiful. His older brother has autism, but is high functioning, and the boys are really close.
That's about it, really - just wanted to touch base. Haven't even lurked for a thousand years, but nice to see some of the old names around!
Love,
Bugmum xxx

CaptainDippy · 19/04/2010 20:44

Lovely to see so many posts and a few blasts from the past!!

Oooggs, so glad Jack is better now. What a fright for you.

Dippy/Bramshott, I am so sorry about missing Friday.l The washing machine man turned up at 4.15 and has said it is fixable, but not until next Monday afternoon!!!! Been to the launderette twiuce already with 5 bags of washing in total!!
Bramshott, is O potty trained now then seeing the training pants are being despatched??

SB, can't believe F is off to school! You will have to post pics on FB so we can see how gorgeous she looks.

WO/Liath/Bugmum/phdlife, great to see you all!

Hope everyone else is good and the birthdays are going well.

K is 3 tomorrow! I think she shares it with 2 others; LuceWheel and Zaza'a from memory.

She is v excited about it being her birthday tomorrow bless her. She is still an angel, and I am really enjoying being with her

Anyway, need to head to bed; the first school run in 2 weeks today and it was a shock having to get up!

Love to all. xx
