Happy birthday George

I'm ok thanks, had an awful weekend, DH feeling ill, found a crack in the house that he's obsessing over & DCs not sleeping. Hope this week is better

ScarletBandit · 12/04/2010 12:11

Happy birthday to George Have a lovely day x

SPB, hope things settle down a bit for you this week xx

I am stressed because I have just had a letter telling me I have to do jury service and I don't want to. I am scared because it bothers me that I will end up sitting on a gruesome case that will scare the living daylights out of me. I know I will have to do it as you can't say no can you? I need to read through all the bits that have come with the summons, but a certain 3 year old has other ideas!

StealthPolarBear · 12/04/2010 12:34

oh SB I would imagine 90% of the cases are deadly dull!

Sexonlegs · 12/04/2010 18:12

Hello

SPB, what's up with your dh? Hope things are ok.

SB, I have to say I would love to do jury service

Oooggs, how are things?

Well the party was fab. Cannot believe it is all over. Felt ok yesterday considering booze and lack of sleep; feel pants today though

Hope everyone is ok.

leakyR · 12/04/2010 19:50

George has had a lovely couple of days celebrating. We had a little tea party yesterday and he's had presents and singing cake and candles all over again today. We got him an ELC till and groceries and an ironing board. He also got a lawn mower, gardening set, Mickey Mouse golf clubs, HUGE helicopter with winch, bubble machine, tool belt and gardening set amongst other things. He's been grinning all day and Iris has been chuckling at him grinnning. So sweet.

I hope all the April 07 have/had wonderful fun birthdays

CaptainDippy · 12/04/2010 21:31

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEORGE, RUBY & AUSTEN!!!! Glad G has had such a super time Leaky, what a cutie!!

I have to say I am with SPB and SOL, SB - Jury Service is prob 90% dull, dull, dull and I would actually quite like to do it. Read through the info properly honey and talk to some people who had done it (I can put you in touch with a couple if you are struggling) You will be fine xx

Pesha · 13/04/2010 22:56

Hello!! Have a bit of time as not working very muh this week so thought I have to pop in what with it being April and all!!

Happy Birthday to all the 'babies' I have missed so far!

Am going to post a series of short posts as I read through as seems easier!

SB - (remind me who you are or used to be?! ) I did jury duty once and went to court for 4 days in a row just to sit in a waiting room reading a book as there was no case, I was really disappointed to be honest! Specially as it took me 2 buses and well over an hour to get there!!

Pesha · 13/04/2010 23:27

Ok started from the bottom this time not the top so now know SB is MJ! We went to Folly Farm last Friday!! Had had a family holiday in Wales (near Newcastle Emelyn (sp?!)) with all dp's family which wasn't as bad as I'd feared!! Also went to Oakwood which was fab and New Quay of all places!!

Have given up on my catch up now as its getting late and I have to go to bed, hope all is well with everyone and will try and come back more although I am struggling just to keep up with the essentials at the moment but will do my best, I think of you all often

Have my Grandpa's funeral to go to tomorrow. How funny that I haven't actually cried yet but writing it down now I'm fighting back tears. Am making Jamie come with me but his Nan died last month which hit him very hard as they were very close so think hes worrying it will bring it all back going to another funeral again so soon, still least we already have the clothes! [bad joke to belie true feelings emoticon]

I've also not been very well with a variety of symptoms so fighting to get a doctor to listen and not try and fob me off with CBT so I can get a diagnosis. Symptoms are MS/ME type things hence struggling to keep up with stuff. Was working 40 hours a week which nearly killed me but back down to 30 now and had last week off and only 17 this week so doing a bit better now!

Anyway wont moan anymore but feel I can take my brave face off on here a bit!

Kids are all doing really well and generally being lovely, although Dylan has picked up some shockingly bad habits from the older children!! Not to mention my friend thinking hes cute when he tells her to 'shubup' and calls her 'fig fat bum' and so encouraging him!!

Ooo, had my Ofsted inspection and got Good on everything and she said I was only just below Outstanding and if I carry on the way I'm going I will be Outstanding at next inspection and the report was lovely with no 'however...'s or 'but...'s in it so feeling very pleased about that and am generally enjoying my work and the extra money that comes with it!!!

Must go bed now, will try not to leave it so long before coming back again! x

Pesha · 13/04/2010 23:29

Am wondering if that is how you spell belie, not a word I've ever written before but too brain dead to think straight or even google!!

Pesha · 13/04/2010 23:32

It cant be right can it, it looks so wrong, going to have to google...Apparently it is right, it doesn't look right!!

CaptainDippy · 14/04/2010 12:00

No Birthdays today!!

Lovely of you to pop by Pesha, nice to "see" you WELL DONE with Ofsted, that is superb - You should be proud!!

Really hope you get a proper DX soon, have a good friend who had ME for many years and was very involved in lots of work surrounding it - could put you in touch if you thought it would help!!? She is very friendly and approachable. Let me know

Hope Funeral is ok today - thinking of you. xx

I am ok, but a bit frustrated today. Very good friend who lives in NZ is in UK atm and having been having sooooo much trouble getting hold of her. Finally got a msg from her on FB; but mobile no she gave doesn't work and today is the only day I can go and see her!!!!! Hoping she contacts me soon!!!!!?

CaptainDippy · 14/04/2010 12:13

phdlife · 14/04/2010 12:36

alright then

well it's been a few days really, as dd came 12.04.09. So we had a nice joint party with family and friends on the 11th (I was very pleased with this as last two parties have been utter disasters, lucky he won't remember them ). Then dd's pressies (with one for impatient ds) on 12th, and ds's pressies (with one for "me too" dd) yesterday.

He told me tonight he thought some more people were going to come round and drop off some more presents tomorrow. Can't imagine who these people may be - everyone he knows has already been round several times this week!

hang on, I am going to upload pic of cake. before you all pee yourselves please note it was only 3hrs before the party I found I did not have an icing forcer so did all decorations using a nurofen syringe

ScarletBandit · 14/04/2010 12:54

Hello ladies.

Thanks for the messages re the jury service. I am sure you are right, it will be dull, but me being me always imagines the worst possible case!
I have returned my form today and asked if it can be deferred for a few months (you can defer for up to 12 months but it is at their discretion).
F will be in full time school from October which will make arranging child care before and after school much easier, as both dc's will be doing the same hours, so I have asked if it can wait until November onwards. They might say no, but I can try!

Pesha, it's lovely to see you on here again, glad you worked out who I was!!
Hope all goes ok today at the funeral, thinking of you xx

Not much happening here. The most exciting thing I have done today is buy a chicken coop on ebay! It is not for chickens though, it is for our new rabbit. He is in a hutch just now, but has no run space and the chicken coop is much bigger for him than a standard rabbit hutch and run. He comes out into the garden for exercise at the moment, but I am paranoid that he will escape!
This way he has a lovely big run which is tall enough for him to jump and stand on his hind legs whenever he likes!
Not particularly interesting for most of you, but I am excited about getting it!!

ScarletBandit · 14/04/2010 12:57

Phd, that cake looks pretty good to me! Amazing the things you can do with a nurofen syringe
Glad the party went well

StealthPolarBear · 14/04/2010 13:06

Sorry to hear about your Grandpa Pesha and well done on your ofsted!
Hi PHD, glad DS and DD had good birthdays. I didn't realise they were a day apart Nurofen syrine is inspired and I'm going to steal it (the idea, not the actual syringe) for DS's cake -I was half imagining making an icing bag but now won't need to
fantastic digger cake!

Hi everyone else. Happy birthday to babies I've missed in the last day or so especially Eddas's Harry

phdlife · 14/04/2010 13:07

yes, well. the paracetamol ones are no good with butter-cream, trust me.

StealthPolarBear · 14/04/2010 13:08

I don't even need to do (another) trial run - you've done it for me!
How's life down under (and across a bit)?

phdlife · 14/04/2010 13:17

aw, shucks

I was about it til ds woke up from his nap, came out and saw it, and got this huge smile, looked up at me and said, "I'm so happy!" [melts] it was all worth it at that point.

oz life is pretty darned okay, spb. Last year was feckin hard - a LOT went wrong - and it's probably an illusion but now that dd's turned one I might have time/energy to look for my mojo again sometime. Am LOVING having a garden, letting those babies run around nekkid all the time and eat as much mulch fruit as they like .

ScarletBandit · 14/04/2010 13:18

Forgot you lived in Australia (I think), I am more than a little bit jealous

phdlife · 14/04/2010 13:31

ach, Scarlet, the grass is always greener - dh and I still get "homesick" for bits of the UK, though we're not from there. (well, dh is. sort of.)

goodnight, gals. it's pumpkin time here.
