morning all Smile

I'll be bringing a picnic then Smile I think if the weather turns nasty there a quite a few eateries/cafes round that way so should be fine.

snow, I think E and A have the same hairdo then Grin

have put a pic of E in his buggy on my profile, dodgy one of me further down, I'll be the rather larger lady with the long hair.

looking forward to meeting some of you tomorrow Smile

Gauchita · 10/09/2010 20:22

Hi all!

We had some lovely sun up here today so let's hope tomorrow it's all over the south Smile

I've been quite busy with work, I asked DH to help with M today so that I would deliver it by 5pm and have the weekend free Smile Otherwise I'd have had to take work to London and that's not fun! Grin

My license arrived today, yay! It's pink! I know it's silly but I still can't quite believe I've passed and able to drive around as I please Smile

Right, as there's no congestion charge, I looked up some parking places near Coram's Fields and it turns out it's cheaper to drive there directly and pay for parking than leave the car at the hotel and take the tube, let's see what DH says Smile Anyway we'll set off early and we'll see you there!!

Waves!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 10/09/2010 20:41

Hello all!

Well, the MET office says that it's going to be light rain so we all need to think positive thoughts for tomorrow!

See you there!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 10/09/2010 20:51

Oh, and we're now driving and heading towards the NCP in Bloomsbury. It'll be loads cheaper than the train, we've just sat and worked it out, and a lot less hassle (although not so good for the environment.... oh well...

Gauchita · 10/09/2010 21:05

Ineed, have a look at the one called London Brunswick Square, it's really close and the cheapest one around Smile link

Gauchita · 10/09/2010 21:06

Gah, that didn't work. The page is parkopedia.co.uk, I just typed CF's postcode and a list appeared with all the ones close by.

June2009 · 10/09/2010 21:10

I can't believe I'm writing this but I don't think we can come tomorrow! Shock
I have been hyping this meeting up so much and telling everyone I know this week but C. vomitted at 7pm and again just now. :(

I'm pretty sure everything she ate today was fine so it's probably a bug she picked up yesterday or today (been to a music group and she put every single instrument in her mouth...also been to nursery yesterday).

I'm so gutted, even if she is better tomorrow if it is/was a bug then she'd still be contagious.

:(:(:(

snowwombat · 10/09/2010 21:37

oh june Sad. Poor C.Hope she is ok overnight.

We are getting the coach down then will brave London buses with a pram. Is it that bad? (we have p+t and v happy to fold it up). Go on the bus here all the time, but am a little anxious after reading all the angst in AIBU about buggy's on buses in London. I know I am being pathetic, I used to live in London and commute with the masses on the tube and bus.

See you tomorrow. Might be wearing the red rain coat and pushing the red pram!

whenskiesaregrey · 10/09/2010 22:01

Hello!

Just a quick pop in before go to bed- having an early night as getting up at half 5 in the morning! Anyone have any basic directions for walking from Euston? I am a bit anxious about finding my way around London- the only other times I have been are to go to Wembley! And, argh, it'll be 9/11! London is a very daunting thing!

June- hope C is better soon, shame we wont get to meet you :(

snowwombat · 10/09/2010 22:38

skies use google maps to get walking directions. Tis pretty straightforward- come out of Euston onto eversholt st, cross over euston rd and eversholt becomes woburn place.Turn left into Guildford st (5th on your left). Coram Fields is just up the road on your left.

When you come out of Euston, standing with your back to the station, there are some shops and paving in front of you and Eversholt st is the street on your left.

HTH.

AllSheepareWhite · 10/09/2010 23:19

Sorry to hear that June, hope C feels better soon x

Skies see here for map.

See you all tomorrow :)

June2009 · 11/09/2010 02:53

Heya, will someone be taking pics at the meet-up? :) (I think someone else already mentionned it).

C. vomitted again after waking up and drinking some water at 1:30 so definitely definitely not coming, gutted!

The out of hours doc said to just carry on giving her water/dry toast until tomorrow midday at least and see how it goes from there.

Right, I am going to try and catch up on some sleep. I've been in and out of C's room to check she's not vomitting in her sleep again (even though I have also had the monitor stuck to my ear since she went to bed). [paranoid emoticon].

Have a nice meet-up, I hope the sun is out for you.

oh june, so sorry you couldn't come Sad Hope C makes a speedy recovery and you both catch up on some sleep. Gauchita I think took some pics for you Smile

waves to all Smile

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 11/09/2010 17:10

Hello! We had such a lovely time at the meet up. It was so great to put faces to names. Coram Fields is perfect for that sort of thing, the kids loved it and we were so lucky with the weather. One little shower, and there was this huge band-stand type thing we could shelter under and then the sun came out. Perfect!

DS is also just a little bit in love with whenskiesaregrey and has been chattering about her all the way home!

We'll definitely have to arrange a meet up again so that some of the others can come down. That room that June suggested looked good so maybe if it's cold / wet we could hire it? Wouldn't be much between us.

Anyway, it only took us an hour to get back and now in the throes of tea time.

Love to all xx

June2009 · 11/09/2010 18:21

Heya!

C. is better I think, hasn't been sick since this morning, though she hasn't actually had very much food either. Incidentally found out she ate some raw stuff straight from the garden with sil yesterday HmmAngryBiscuit.

Really glad you had a good time and the weather was good enough! Can't wait to see Gauchita's pics :D
Really gutted I missed everyone and the little ones. When's the next meet up? :D

OP posts:
snowwombat · 11/09/2010 20:07

june so pleased C is on the mend. We missed you at the meet up.

Girls, it was so nice to meet everyone. The kidlets were gorgeous! We had a lovely time, despite A being out of sorts, post his MMR. He kept giving ineed's E lots of cuddles.

Managed to call into Selfridges on the way home, how I love that shop! Grin

Thanks for a great day!

whenskiesaregrey · 11/09/2010 20:09

Hi everyone!

Just got back in, we are all a bit pooped :) Never did find paperchase, and feel like we walked about 50 miles ;) We walked down Tottenham Court Road, then onto Oxford Street, turned right at Selfridges and walked down Baker Street (I think!)- DH wanted to see where Sherlock Holmes lived; I wanted to see where Basil the Great Mouse Detective lived ;) Had a great day today, was really nice meeting everyone and their LOs! Can't wait for the next one! They were all so cute playing together. Also, all of C's friends his age were girls, so he got to meet some boys for a change too Grin. C was hard work on the train home, as he slept from when we left until about half an hour before we got back on the train, so he wasn't interested in sitting still for another 2 hours Hmm Grin

Was a great day, almost almost worth missing Everton score two last minute goals against Man Utd today Wink

p.s. Ineed your DS is so cute, bless him Grin tell him I said hello!

whenskiesaregrey · 11/09/2010 20:13

x-posts with snow! We went to Selfridges too, to find some paper, but they didnt sell any :( DH thinks this means he is of the hook with thank you card writting tomorrow, but I'm going to Cheshire Oaks in the morning to get some Grin Poor A, hope he is back to normal soon.

And June, glad C is feeling a bit better now, such a shame you couldn't make it today :( we will see you soon though, I'm sure Grin

Hello everyone,

June - so sorry you and C missed out, glad she is feeling better :)

Strawberry - sorry to hear L has been ill, N upped her milk feeds until her molars finished cutting recently now she has reduced them again. She always went from 6.30am to 5pm without bf though when I was working (although sometimes had 1 bottle of cows milk). I guess out of sight, out of mind works, but she did feed lots at night though Confused. Now down to 5.30am, bedtime feed, midnight feed with lots of yoghurts/cheese etc... in her daily meals.

Was lovely to meet all of you who could make it.

Bigcar - hope second week in school goes well for DD3. E is lovely, he made me laugh trying to push the buggy around like a car :o

Snow - How is A, still down in the dumps or back to his usual bubbly self?

Whenskies - glad you didn't get lost and made your train back ok.

Gauchita - hope you guys had a good night in the hotel and an easy journey home.

Ineed - Did you manage to get E in the car without waking?

snowwombat · 12/09/2010 22:24

hi girls,
Getting ready for a week away with work.Very teary at the thought of leaving A for 5 nights, although I know how much he loves his GPs and is settled at their house.

allsheep A is a bit better, although still a bit quiet and had three day sleeps today.

strawb A is a fussy eater and really goes off his food when teeth are coming through or he is feeling poorly. He is a yoghurt fiend, so I add lots of mashed fruit. Soups a favourite here too (add calories by adding a cube or two of frozen double cream).Peanut butter or avo or hummous on rice or oat cakes easy and calorific snacks too.

whenskies glad you found selfridges and got home safe!

Gauchita · 12/09/2010 22:52

Hi all!

We had such a lovely time yesterday! It was great to see you and put names to all the faces, as Ineed said. The little ones looked lovely all running towards different places Grin We had a great time and are looking forward to the next one!

We had an early night yesterday, had dinner at the hotel and were in bed by 9 Grin Today the weather was great Hmm Grin We managed to see June, her DH and C in the morning as we were close to their area and then we headed home. I drove most of the way back but had a splitting headache when I arrived, ouch. M refused to sleep during the journey so she passed out as soon as we arrived. Luckily I managed to give her dinner and a bath!

Snow, hope you have a great week away. I can only imagine how hard it is to leave A and DH behind for a few days, but as you say, A loves being with his GPs, which makes things a bit easier Smile Hope he's on the mend soon.

Skies, glad your journey back was OK and you managed to walk around a bit before setting off. Smile

Bigcar, E looked lovely in his shirt Smile He's such a sweet boy. I bet DH was happy to see you when you got back, after staying in charge of the troop Grin

Ineed, aw bless little A with his crush on skies Grin I see your DH managed to get E to take a nap after we left Smile M crashed on our way to the hotel as well, and no wonder! Grin

Allsheep, N was so cute eating fruit from Ineed's bowl Grin The way she kept going back when she'd finished what she had Grin Hope you have a good week at work Smile

June, I promise I'll upload the pics tomorrow Smile Glad C's all better now. Angry at SIL on your behalf.

Right, I hope I can sleep now after the two hour nap I took from 8-10 Confused

Waves to all!

bigcar · 13/09/2010 10:01

morning all Smile

glad everyone had a safe trip home after saturday, funny reading all the posts from saturday I can almost hear your voices saying it!

june, so pleased C is better and that you got to see gauchita, dh and M Smile And Angry for your sil.

strawberry, weight isn't such an issue for L now she's this age, she will have enough reserves to keep her going for quite a while. The centile charts are a guide, the important thing is that she is around the same centile for height as weight, even saying that she would have to have a difference of 2 centile lines to start anyone beginning to worry. I'd second snows diet advice and add cheese to food as well, it's amazing what you can hide in a soup/stew, puree anything you think she needs and it just becomes part of the juice/gravy.

snow, hope your week goes well and A is back to his normal self soon Smile

dd3 is doing ok at the moment, she enjoys school, it's just she doesn't get a lot out of it, which of course just turns going into a waste of time Hmm I think she needs more specialist provision but she has to fail in mainstream before they will move her, all comes down to money unfortunately Sad Annual review of her statement in about 4 weeks time so will need to be on top form then to get things moving. She likes her new 1:1 which is a huge improvement on last year and only the first day was a disaster, since then no major falls or knocks so that's pretty good.

waves to all Smile

Gauchita · 13/09/2010 10:24

Strawberry, I second what the others have said. M is quite picky with her food, unfortunately, and if it were for her she'd be BFing all the time and that'd be all Hmm I add cream, butter and cheese to many of the food she likes. I make lots of soups these days and she likes those (you can hide stuff there, as others have said). I make lentil soup, for example, with cream, butter and cheese and she wolves that down Smile Hope this helps.

Bigcar, fingers crossed for some good results after the annual review. Odd that they'd wait for her to fail until they decide to give her better/specialised provision Hmm Will they bring time back!? Grrr... Glad to hear she likes her 1:1 keyworker this year Smile

Waves!

bigcar · 13/09/2010 10:44

gauchita, unfortunately that's the way it works. Provision only has to be adequate so it has to fall below that to warrant a move. Lentil soup yum Smile

strawberry, if you want to use the toddler milk up you can always use it for Ls mash, cheese sauce, cereal etc. Varying the temperature you give it to her can make a difference too Smile
