just marking the new thread will be back to catch up later - HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!!!!!

Gauchita · 14/03/2010 13:06

Happy mother's day, lovely Juners!!!

bigcar · 14/03/2010 17:02

how lovely, a new home Hope you're all having a happy mothers day!

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 14/03/2010 18:01

Ohhh shiney new thread it's been a while since we had one of those!!!

Happy Mother's Day ladies especially those who are 1st timers

I was a bit off with dh earlier about Mother's day. I went to bed when I got in from work and he made cards with the girls and a cake, which on reflection is really lovely but (stupid as this is it bugged me) he put all the cards up (no envelopes for the girls to give them to me, or even getting the girls to give them too me), so it felt like they weren't really for me iyswim. Then he carried on making the cake whilst I was trying to get my lunch. I just feel like more training is required as for fathers day he always gets a little gift and everything nicely presented.... his heart was in the right place, I'm just grumpy and overtired and compared to the H's (not dear) on the miserable mother's day thread he is a paragon of virtue. >

We have however been out this afternoon for a walk on the Hoe and to to a park for the kids which was lovely.

Anyway off for tea and hoping A behaves to night (ha ha ha)

bigcar · 14/03/2010 18:10

has anyone been watching one born every minute on channel 4? Dd1 has, apparently it's put her right of having a baby, especially when they showed how an epidural was done, the language was not repeatable! Seems it'll be a while before grannyhood beckons

snowwombat · 15/03/2010 07:59

hello girls!Marking my place on the brand new thread. Surrounded by washing after getting back from a week's skiing late last night. Will catch up with everything later. Hope everyone is great.

lauraloo09 · 15/03/2010 14:00

bigcar i watch that programme every week and think it's wonderful, however I would have been more frightened of childbirth if i watched that bofore or when I was pregnant quite agree with your DD1 lol

doris hope the rest of your Mother's Day was good and hope you got some sleep last night.

Well looks as if the line I saw on a test was an evap line (never had 1 evap line never mind 2!) I have taken other tests and they were negative so looks like i'm not pregnant (at least its not another miscarriage) AF still not came yet tho maybe i'm testing too early x

bunnymother · 16/03/2010 10:45

Morning ladies!!

Sounds like mothers' day was a mixed bag, DH and I were hungover, as we went out for DH's birthday the night before. So I growled "happy birthday" at DH all day, and he growled "happy mothers' day" at me, and we cheered when Delie napped so we could flop on the couch and think of greasy food. I couldn't go out v often as it knackers me getting up at 7am regardless of the time I went to bed, and makes me a pretty crappy parent.

No big news here. Still TTC, although my last period was relatively heavy and lasted 2.5 weeks - can you believe it?!!? Spoke to my BIL (a Dr and no doubt just what he wants to talk about over a drink at the pub... ) and he thought it could just be a hormonal anomaly. I was convinced it was MC as had never had such a period before, but prob wasn't and really I will never know. So... fingers crossed for this cycle then!

Delie waking quite a bit at nights at the mo' due to teething (I think!). She has 1 big top front tooth poking 1/2 way through and the other one just cut through in the last few days. Poor sweetie. DH is totally at the size of them. Ha ha, maybe she does take after me in at least 1 aspect!

Better run and actually do some house work!!

Gauchita · 16/03/2010 13:40

Hi all!

Laura, everything crossed for you here What is an evap line?

Bunny, aw, poor D! Teething is also creating havoc here, M's really uncomfortable We can see a tooth on the bottom about to cut through so maybe that will give her some relief Enjoy that sunshine!

Snow, hope you had a great time skiing

Bigcar, I just saw ads about the show but never watched it, poor DD1!

Doris, I think my DH would have done the same thing They do need a lot of hints, don't they? Hope you managed to have a good rest

Mrsmc, hi! How are you?

Hi to all Juners!

Over here things are fine. M met a LOT of people on Sunday when my parents celebrated her 9 months At first she was a bit overwhelmed by it all but she then relaxed a bit and enjoyed the afternoon/evening We had a UK mother's day as well Everyone wished me a happy day and we took a pic of my grandma, mum, me and M, which was nice, four generations of first born women (if that's how it's said )

We're going to the local market today and will have a look at some traditional and indigenous crafts/jewelry

Hope you have a nice day, lovely Juners!

Waves!!!

June2009 · 17/03/2010 16:19

Heya!

We had a fab mother's day! Got breakfast in bed (at 7am so no lie-in but still!) and flowers! It was lovely to have everybody around for lunch, extra family came round for tea and cake after as well and there was no drama. wow.
mil had to push her luck though and turned up asking if she could take dd out in the pram as the weather is lovely. NOT gonna happen! (sometimes I even wonder whether I should lock the front door when she is visiting so she doesn't kidnap dd, totally ott but she does not have a good track record with stable mental health.)

C is much better now, my cold on the other hand is getting worse (blocked ears.)

gauchita glad to hear you had a bit of a mother's day in Ecuador, what did you bring back from the market?

doris I know what you mean, dhs need a lot of hints but there's only so much you can say before it starts being completely unnatural. dh said "happy now?" when he ordered me flowers in front of me at the same time as he ordered some for his mum. I just smiled and said "yes" :D
They completely miss the point sometimes, don't they.

bunny it's really stressfull isn't it, and we're not even trying for a baby. I have been missing my pill, having irregular periods, heartburns, signs of what feels like spd, off my food, nauseous, if I didn't know any better I'd think I'm pregnant (I am definitely not). Then my periods are very heavy and I think it could me mc. not looking forward to ttcing again.
C is also up a lot at night and constantly chewing on her fists. Her gums are all bumpy like loads of teeth are going to come out in one go.

bigcar What is this program about exactly? Every time I have tried to put it on dh has moaned to switch it over. How old is your dd1? Once upon a time I swore I'd never move in with a guy, that if I did we'd definitely have seperate bedrooms and that I'd never had babies!!

laura I don't know what an evap line is either, good luck with ttc!

snow How was the skiing?
We're going for a break to the seaside at the weekend, self-catering, and the amount of stuff we have to pack is making me dizzy already.
Talking about holiday, are any of you from Cornwall, is there anything nice to do there?

We went to the park yesterday and onto the swings, C loved it :D Bring on the nice weather!

OP posts:
bigcar · 17/03/2010 17:45

afternoon all

an evap(oration) line is what happens when the fluid on the test dries and leaves a line that can easily be mistaken for a bfp, usually happens after about 15 mins or more after doing the test.

june at your mil at least you had a good day in the end One born every minute follows ladies through their labour and birth based at a hospital in Southampton, it can be quite addictive, it's on 4OD if you want to watch the whole series online, my dh won't watch it either. Dd1 is 19 so plenty of time before before grannydom I hope! Weekend away sounds lovely, hope ilness goes away by then

gauchita, sounds like M is getting spoilt rotten, how lovely Yes, come on, what did you get at the market

bunny, lol at your bar conversation, lets hope noone was eaves dropping on that eh Still have every thing crossed for positive news for you!

laura, how are you? I'm glad they didn't really show programmes like obem before I had dd1, would have scared the crap out of me! And that was pre internet [suddenly feels ancient] too so only a quick look at a video [ok, totally ancient] during an antenatal class which was scarey enough!

snow, how was skiing, where did you go, I can't remember

E has discovered a new talent today!!!! He can eat the soil out of the pot plant next to the fire [yum] do you think that's a comment on my cooking At least all the jumping up to grab him away from it is keeping me fit! Well that and grabbing him when he goes mountain climbing over the toy box.

waves to all

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 17/03/2010 20:02

June- just a quick one where in cornwall are you going, I'm just over the border in Devon!

Sorrry this is a really quick post, going for a celebratory bath as I a have finally FINISHED ALL MY STONE WALLS

June2009 · 19/03/2010 15:25

We're thinking Gillan doris. Hope you enjoyed your bath, got pics of your stone walls?
Our little seaside break is postponed though as I have been up all night with D&V (yuk!).
Apparently there's a lot of neurovirus around. lovely...
I hope C doesn't catch it, managed to stay well away so far today but I don't think dh can do all the childminding.
We were going to have sushi tonight as well, now I can't face anything else than water

Hi all!

Strawberry, aw that sounds nice, so glad to hear they're being supportive and understanding Another cable lover here at home

Bigcar, hi! Thanks for the explanation Yes, she's being spoilt like mad here. I think we'll have some hard days when we come back, or hard nights, which is worse

June, those boots look fab Hope you're feeling a bit better and the bug clears soon. Hopefully you'll have some sushi soon Glad to hear mother's day was nice, but at your MIL!

Doris, well done you! It'd be fab to see a pic, as some other Juner mentioned Hope you had a nice and long rest

Hi to all Juners!

Well, DH was supposed to go back to the UK today but his flight was cancelled so he had to reschedule everything and is leaving tomorrow morning now.

We had a great time at the market. Things are soooo cheap there! You mostly find crafts and hand-made things like bracelets, collars, earrings, ponchos and clothes in general, etc. We bought some hand-made coasters, I bought 7 bracelets for 5 dollars and a very warm and incredibly nice poncho for 15!! I was impressed with the prices, if you buy those things in regular shops you pay twice as much or more, of course. Oh, we also bought a painting (without the frame) that we fell in love with, really colourful

Hope you have a lovely weekend, ladies.

Waves!!!

bigcar · 22/03/2010 11:32

morning all

june, how are you feeling now? Hope everyone else avoided the lurgy. How's C getting on at nursery now, all settled?

strawberry, what a great boss you have, that must have been lovely E also likes cables, when he's not eating paper of course, he managed to pull the hoover plug out of the wall this morning

gauchita, sounds like you got some great bargains there, what a lovely market Was your dh flying with BA, what a pain!

I'm hoping for some more of that lovely weather this week, there's just so much more you can do when it's dry and reasonably warm. Waves to all

Gauchita · 25/03/2010 02:38

Hi all!

It's been a few days and the thread had disappeared from my threads

Bigcar, hope you've had some lovely weather. DH told me up north it rained quite a bit, hopefully you had something different down there He wasn't flying with BA but with American Airlines and it was not a good experience. I think it'll be first and last The thing about not telling Virgin that DH's flight had been cancelled and that he was flying the following day, after they told him eeeeeverything was sorted was unacceptable. Thankfully Virgin dealt with the issue then and there and DH took his flight

Tomorrow is our last day here. Not looking forward to taking 3 flights alone with a baby, the pushchair, the nappy bag, and a suitcase Aaaanyway... we'll spend the day together tomorrow and make the most of it

Hi to all Juners! The thread has been quiet, hope you're all well

MrsMcJnr · 25/03/2010 15:14

Oh ladies hello!! I am so sorry that I disappeared. Things got manic, don?t know why more so than usual and I never seemed to have time in the evenings to get online and then my PC died so all in all I don?t know how long it is since I last chatted to you but it seems like ages. That said, not much has changed. Aaliyah is still not sleeping and it is getting really hard to function so I am reading the ?No cry solution? and am really enjoying it and feel optimistic that it is going to make a difference. She has 10 teeth now, has worn out a pair of leather shoes pulling herself along and has progressed to holding onto things with one hand and lifting one foot but she is no further forward with walking (thank goodness!) My DS (Xavier) is being really awkward at the mo, violent and aggressive ? the terrible twos have really kicked in ? what fun! I have been so good during Lent, not a single biscuit, chocolate or cake and have only lost 5 pounds hey ho, come next Sunday when I hope to have scoffed a Galaxy egg (have been dropping hints like mad to DH) I shall think about giving up bread and see how I fare as I know I eat far too much of that

And how are all of you??? can anyone summarise what I?ve missed?

MrsMcJnr · 25/03/2010 16:05

Doris ? I am with you on the training required for DH?s about Mothers Day ? it was too little too late here hey ho. I blame my MIL though as it is me who has to buy and send all the cards to his family, she didn?t bring him up to appreciate people on important days ? he calls it commercialism but I think it is good to take stock and tell people you appreciate them

Bigcar ? re birth and young girls, my Mother always used to go on about birth being the most painful thing ever etc etc, it wasn?t for me and I hope I give my daughter a more positive angle on it but there again it could be a good deterrent Aaliyah is a leaf eater and I have to watch her near plants too ? what is it with these babies!?

Laura ? sounds like you have been having a very confusing time with thinking you are and then not pregnant, poor you

Bunnymother ? fingers crossed for you this cycle still couldn?t get pg here even if I wanted to (which I don?t at the mo) as no sign of any returning fertility yet but still feeding every 3-4 hours!

Gauchita ? sounds like you are having a wonderful time hope you are all being spoilt rotten why don?t you buy a whole lot of those bracelets and flog them on eBay? You?d make a nice profit! Also Havianas if they are cheap! Hope you have a good flight home!

Snow ? skiing with a baby, what a woman you are!

June ? glad Mother?s Day was so good at your house hope you are feeling better now.

Strawberrysam ? it does sound like your office are being great I have a child obsessed with cables too, I remember DS was at this stage too though!

June2009 · 26/03/2010 20:03

mrsmc I was wondering where you got up to, couple more days and I was going to FB you the link to the new thread :D

gauchita when are you back? sounds like you had a lovely time :D
When is daisy back from her break?

We're in the south west for a holiday and it was really manic getting here, we actually thought we were never going to manage to get away. I caught that norovirus, then was really drained for a few days after, then the car broke down etc, one thing after another.
But we made it and we're so glad we did. The weather is so-so but the place we're staying at is great so we're happy. Dh got the fireplace going tonight! We don't know when we're coming back, not decided yet.

waves to sam, laura, bunny bigcar and all, I'm going back to the fire place ;) migth do some lurking on aibu, always a laugh ;)

Sounds lovely June enjoy!

Gauchita · 28/03/2010 15:49

Hi all!!

Jet-lag sucks!!! We got here yesterday morning but have slept mostly ever since M slept 15hs last night (woke up once to feed) and is now asleep again... so our bodies are quite

Mrsmc, so nice to hear from you again. Sorry to hear DS is well into the "terrible twos", you must be exhausted due to that plus little sleep ((hug)) It didn't cross my mind to buy those bracelets to ebay them. I do regret not buying two more ponchos as they were just dead cheap, but I've asked my mum to bring them when she comes Well done A with having 10 teeth!

June, aw that sounds lovely, hope the weather is better today Enjoy the rest and peace, you deserve it! I think Daisy went for 8 weeks so she still has 5 to go

Hi to all Juners!

Well, my bags didn't arrive yesterday ONe has arrived today in Manchester but hasn't got here yet and the other went from Orlando to Dallas then to Newark (WTF) and only then it'll come to Manchester. Now why they have done that only God knows Hopefully I'll get the small one today and the other one tomorrow

I was quite teary yesterday, jet-lag + distance = tears but well, my parents will come for Christmas hopefully so it won't be long

Hope you're all well. Have you seen the thread about Riven meeting D Cameron? So happy for her Hope she gets some answers soon and it's not only promises.

Waves!!!
