Hello all.

Took DS to pre-school at 12.15. He was quite clingy and I had to let them distract him while I ran away and then cried on a teacher in the play ground Blush. I'm sure they're used to crazy parents like me....

Have emails from snowombat and BigCar, have confirmation via Facebook about Gauchita. Is there anyone else coming on Saturday?

Gauchita · 06/09/2010 15:01

Ineed, aw (((hug))) It's better that we cry and not them anyway Grin I'm sure he'll love it and have lots of fun.

I think June is also coming, she hasn't been on too much as she's coming back from France today IIRC. She might post a bit later today, bags of laundry permitting Grin

Skies had said she'd make it but is also coming back from her honeymoon today (I think I read that on FB) so we might have news from her soon.

I drove M to nursery today, weird driving on my own Grin It was even weirder to come back completely alone! BUT I took advantage of the free time and went to Boots and Tesco Grin Nothing stresses me more these days than car parks. It's horrible!

Waves!

whenskiesaregrey · 06/09/2010 21:49

Hi everyone! MrsSkies here!!

Thank you all for your Wedding wishes, it was just such an amazing day, I absolutely loved it! If you would like to see any pics, feel free to go to www.purepictures.co.uk and 'browse', then click Amy and Dave! Oh I wish we could do it all again, everything went right Grin Grin

I saw a message on Facebook about the meet-up... what's the current situation? We are probably going to have to get a hotel on the Friday night, so would mean travelling straight down from work, with C. Are numbers looking good? I would like DH to come, with it being quite a way. Now obviously, being a typical man, he is maybe a bit apprehensive about meeting up with a load of female strangers he only knows from my references Wink. I think he might see his butt slightly though if we make the trip darn sarf inc. hotel if its a small number of local Juners?? Especially after Wedding/ Honeymoon etc?

I hope you are all well. Would be great if numbers are good Grin

June2009 · 07/09/2010 00:33

we're just back, not much time to catch up or post for now.

definitely coming saturday :)

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 07/09/2010 06:10

Numbers are good skies. My DH is coming, as is Gauchita's as she's travelling a fair distance too. I'll do a count and Facebook you xx

Gauchita · 07/09/2010 08:29

Morning!

Ineed, I think I remember Snow saying her DH might be coming as well so we might have a few Smile

Skies, SO happy for you, and so glad to hear everything was great and you enjoyed every second of it Smile I'll definitely have a nosey in the pics! How was seeing C after those 2 weeks? I bet there were tears, on both sides! Grin

June, welcome back! Smile

DH is in London today. It rained heavily all night but now the sun's shining Smile I might be courageous enough to take M to a playgroup (by car) today on my own Grin

Waves to all!

whenskiesaregrey · 07/09/2010 11:42

Morning everyone!

I really do want to meet up, would be lovely to see everyone. I think DH is expecting some major Juners conference Wink so are we looking at about 5-6 Juners plus 2-3 DHs?

Congratulations on passing your driving test Gauchita, you must be so relieved? Its great the freedom you have isn't it? Its also quite incredible how quickly you become reliant on a car too!

snowwombat · 07/09/2010 11:55

just a quick post to say my DH is coming too.
Scan this morning, baby, uterine arteries and my cervix all fine. Baby looks like A. Yeah Grin

bigcar · 07/09/2010 12:53

afternoon all Smile

laura
june
gauchita
bigcar
ineed
whenskies
snow

this was the last list I could find for the meetup, anyone else wants to add themselves they'd be most welcome Smile

gauchita, good to hear you've discovered the wonders of mr tumble, he has god like status here, although after the holidays and dd3s refusal to watch anything else, I'm a little jaded!

ineed, how'd the first day go? Hope ds had a good time.

mrsskies, congratulations, so pleased all went so well Smile You've definitely got your dads smile, lovely photos, you looked beautiful, all that hair C has too, fantastic Smile My dh will be stopping home with the older dcs but you might not want to tell him that!

june, lovely to see you back Smile

snow, that's great news, so pleased Smile

waves to all Smile

whenskiesaregrey · 07/09/2010 13:37

snow thats great news, its such a relief when you hear everything is okay, isnt it.

bigcar thank you, the pictures are great, have to pick 150 out of the 400 for the album! I think my brother and I look a lot like my dad, and my sister looks a lot like my mum :)

I really do want to meet everyone, and their LOs, I think it is purely the distance that is the problem :( and if it wasnt so near to wedding and honeymoon. Will have a chat with DH about it tonight, and have a look at hotel prices/ train costs etc and see if we can do it. It would be so lovely to put faces to names. I did a Manchester Meet-Up a couple of months ago, and as lovely as it was, I didn't really know people too well, whereas we have all had our LOs together and had them do the same things together (pretty much- still no walking here!) over the last 2 years or so (depending on when in pregnancy you joined the thread!) I feel a bit bad blaming DH, I do see his point, and dont know how I would feel if roles were reversed, but I think he does appreciate the sentiment. Will chat to him tonight! Grin

I can't stand that Justin, but C loves the sign, and spends the whole time waving and shouting 'Bye' Grin.

whenskiesaregrey · 07/09/2010 19:40

Anyone have any recommendations for cheap hotels??

Gauchita · 07/09/2010 19:47

Hey Mrsskies, we're staying in one of the Holiday Inn Express ones. I don't know how cheap you're looking for but if you go to their website they have rooms from £45 (double bed + double sofa bed for baby / breakfast included) Hope this helps? The pictures are lovely, btw, you looked so gorgeous! And how cute was C! Smile You all look so happy in them Smile

June2009 · 07/09/2010 20:11

heya, just to add that dh is coming too.

still not been able to catch up anymore than that.

Have we decided somewhere specific to meet up within coram fields, it seems quite big?

OP posts:
Gauchita · 07/09/2010 20:41

June, I think Bigcar suggested right inside the gate, IIRC. That can be easy, provided there's one main gate only Grin Does anyone know if there's more than one? Oh, what shall we do re. food? Picnic or cafe Coram Fields? Smile

whenskiesaregrey · 07/09/2010 22:29

We have found a hotel in Kew, is tube the best way to get there? How long do you think we will spend in Coram Fields? Just wondering what to do with car? Is there somewhere to park- would we have to pay congestion charge?

bigcar · 08/09/2010 08:25

skies, I wouldn't advise taking the car to coram, it's all pay and display round there and is not cheap, never mind the hunt for a space and the congestion charge. Kew isn't in the congestion zone though. Hth

bigcar · 08/09/2010 09:30

morning all Smile

skies, also look at tfl journey planner, will help you figure out how to get there. Sorry, being a bit thick, forgot it will be saturday so no congestion charge!

The main entrance is on Guilford Street, just at the back of great ormond street hospital, not sure of other gates but there is only one on that road so I think that will be the best place. All we need now is a dry day Grin anyone seen a forecast yet?

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 08/09/2010 12:47

I'm coming on the train to Waterloo, and then the bus on route 243. That link's brilliant bigcar, thanks.

Hopefully the bus won't be too busy. DS will be so excited as he's not been on a bus before!

Right, those not on Facebook, have you all emailed me at the above email address? I can then 'Facebook' you all eachother's numbers so that we can try and co-ordinate our meet!

Looks like rain at the moment, but could change before then. We need everyone to will it to be dry.....

Just found out I can switch one of DS's afternoons to a morning so he can have one full day at pre-school and a day off in the week. That suits me brilliantly as I can get something meaningful done on both days, DD can get a bit of mummy time on Wednesdays and Fridays we can all go out for the day. Perfect!

Anyway, hope everyone'e well. Tres excited about Saturday xxx

whenskiesaregrey · 08/09/2010 14:30

Okay, we are now thinking of getting the train from Runcorn on the day, as its cheaper than staying over. It gets us into Euston at 10am, is this near? The cheapest return time is then 17:07, so this looks like the best bet?

I hope you ladies all realise I am missing Everton vs Manchester United for this meet up Wink

bigcar · 08/09/2010 18:03

skies, have a look at the journey planner, you have a choice of about 3 buses which will take you to Russell Square OR it's about a 20 minute walk. We appreciate your sacrifice Grin

AllSheepareWhite · 08/09/2010 22:02

Hello everyone only a brief message as still have planning for next weeks lessons to do now that N has finally gone to sleep Confused. Coram's Fields only has one gate on Guilford Street. Skies given the traffic around there you may be better off walking from Euston if you can make it down, but being Saturday you may be ok. N and I are definitely coming, don't think DH is coming as he might take the opportunity to have some blokey time with his mates, doesn't get much of that being a SAHD and the main cook/cleaner in our house :) Is the meet time still 11am?

whenskiesaregrey · 08/09/2010 22:31

Hi

Bigcar, had a look at that planner, thank you. Going to print off a few options! Think I may go for AllSheeps suggestion of walking though, although that does depend on the weather!

Ineed, I looked on the bbc website (my fav website pre-wedding!) and it was forcast heavy rain for Sat, but sunny Fri and Sun. So hopefully they are a day out!

As Gauchita said, how we doing for food?

Looking forward to it Grin

Gauchita · 09/09/2010 12:00

Hi all!

Oh let's hope the weather helps, fingers crossed!!!

Allsheep, yes, 11am Smile You can email Ineed your mobile number, she's making sure everyone has everyone's contact number in case we get lost/are late/ etc Smile Hope work is going well.

Lots of work here, I'll be back later.

Waves!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 09/09/2010 20:43

Allsheeparewhite - can you email me your mobile on compingqueen at hotmail dot com so I can add your number to the list?

Have now text Gauchita, June, whenskies, bigcar and have their numbers. If there's anyone else coming, can you also email me your mobile number and then we can be sure that there'll be no one left out on the day.

Hope all are well.

SATURDAY IS CURRENTLY SUNNY ON THE MET OFFICE WEBSITE! YEY!

I think we'll bring a picnic too, especially now it's going to be sunny [positive thinking emoticon].....

snowwombat · 09/09/2010 23:35

Forecast is improving! Yeah!
Very late here, just home from a girl's night out. Just 4 of us, and plenty of laughter (and wine for the others).

So looking forward to saturday, will bring a picnic. Am hoping for a quick visit to oxford st for some maternity bra shopping prior to Coram Fields.

ineed has my number too.

See you sat!I will be the one with the 'is she just fat or is she pregnant look', red P+Ts,blond child (well his hair only grows on the back half of hid head) and Australian accent!
