Hello everyone, sorry to have been away so long, what with the move and then BT and O2 collectively cocking up our internet it has been hard to get up and running. I have tried to catch up with the thread the best I can.

gauchita, hope M's cough gets better soon.

June - hope C's feeling better.

venetian - sounds like a great idea, have you had any more thoughts about what you might do?

llynnnn - hope you, DH and Isobel are all ok and that DH gets help soon.

whenskies - have a great day :)

snow - well done A on walking, I hope you enjoy your holiday and get some rest it must be tiring being pregnant and doing all that travelling.

bunny - fab news congratulations! Hope all is well with you:)

strawberry - How are things with you? Is it any easier now you know what you have to do? I second Ineed on life after bankruptcy, I filed several years ago now, but did not have assets at the time, it really helped me and I have been able to move on and be debt free ever since. It was a great weight and stress off my shoulders, I hope it works for you too.

Hello Ineed, MrsMc and anyone other Juners! Hope you are all well:)

Update: N is running, has 12 teeth (4 molars cut in last week, so no sleep here Confused), still bfing (teething put paid to best laid weaning plans so I am slightly panicking about return to F/T work in two weeks and coping with night feeds, am going to have to get tough me thinks :)). We are in new flat, but have found out roof has major seasonal leaking problems not disclosed before move so may be moving again before winter kicks in (aaargh!). Have lost track of meeting up arrangements, times, places etc... would like to come along too, can someone fill me in? Went to see N's cousins today, her baby cousin who was born 2 1/2 months early has passed all development checks with flying colours and does not need a operation as the hole in her heart has closed up so we are all very relieved :) Am off to my Mum's next week for a trip to the seaside so I hope we see a return of the sunshine by then :)

Waves to everyone :)

just a quick one from me, lots of work to do tonight after a meeting today and 10hrs travel up the length of the country! Silly me forgot my power cable for my laptop, so had to listen to my ipod and read the paper- bbliss.

I love the dream house photos!! Thanks june and bigcar Grin Will keep dreaming.

Laptop in for repairs for the rest of the week and then we are off to France for 10 days. Hope all is well with everyone and their little ones.

This baby is kicking like crazy today, esp now, might have another night owl on our hands. Grin

Take care and be back in two weeks

bigcar · 17/08/2010 13:23

afternoon all Smile

june, that's rather lovely Smile

allsheep, good to see you back, must be a thing for juners at the moment, bad internet connection! Sorry to hear about the property problems, hope you don't end up having to move again. Meetup is on the 11th september, 11.30/12 at coram fields, the more the merrier Smile

strawberry, of course, we missed you loads Grin Congratulations to your dh, fabulous news, once you're in you can always grab extra hours when they come up Smile Oh, what's occurrin', Barry island doesn't sound that great does it! There's something appealing about being in the warm, looking out onto the choppy sea and everything being a bit windswept . . . . . . . [sigh] Although there's a lot to be said for junes idyll Smile

snow, how lovely, all that movement Smile Enjoy your holiday!

It's not so nice here today, trying to rain but not really succeeding. Next door have had their tree drastically cut back, can't believe how much lighter our house is as a result Shock if the weather was good we'd also have a lot more sun on the garden in the afternoon, their tree puts our garden almost completely in the shade Hmm

waves to all Smile

June2009 · 17/08/2010 20:14

Hi!

Where abouts in france are you snow? We'll be there by the end of next week as well.
dh's grandad passed away on sunday which was really sad especially since we can't make it to the funeral (it's tomorrow already, ba didn't have any flights at all).

I signed up to snapfish today and got 40 prints for free.
When I go on that page now it only says 20 Hmm, weird.

C finished her ab and is totally better, how's M gauchita. By the way is your dh making any progress with the manipulating ils book?

gotta go for now, waves to all :)
meet up coming up fast :D

Hi all!

Argh! I've been covered in work, SO busy the flat was in a state today! I hate to say this but I'm struggling to juggle everything Sad I love working (besides needing it Grin) but I don't know how to balance everything. The fact that I don't work on specific days or times is hard, I usually get work when M's not due to go to school I got a big job, I was really happy about that but working when M goes down at night is not enough, as I'd have to work all night and unfortunately I'm anything but a night owl Grin I pass out after 11, exhaustion beats me Grin Sorry about the rant, I'm not complaining about working, don't get me wrong, I'm just finding it hard to be with M, spend quality time with her, work, clean, cook, tidy up, etc Sad DH has been very busy as well so even though he'd like to help it's just not enough.

Anyway, let's catch up.

June, Bigcar, wow, those pictures are amazing. As Snow says, let's keep dreaming Smile

Bigcar, thanks for those tips. I'm putting them in practice Smile

June, her cough is still there Hmm No cold at all, no sniffles, but the cough persists. I haven't been able to nebulise her often enough these days either so that hasn't helped. DH ended up really liking the book, he's really into it now, no need for me to give him a nudge nag for him to read it. Unfortunately he's not done with it yet due to all the work he's had lately. Glad to hear C's better Smile and done with the ABs. Sorry to hear about DH's grandpa, send him our condolences.

Strawbs, that's fantastic news! Yay for him! And you of course Smile Fingers crossed for your mum to be able to get the flat ready for you soon Smile Yes, I'm still BFing Smile She doesn't seem to want to stop for now, I really thought she'd be fed up with it by now Grin

Snow, you busy bee Smile Awww it's so nice to feel the babies moving inside Smile Have a great time away!

Allsheep, so nice to hear from you. Sorry to hear about the problems with the house Sad We had a similar situation last year, moved right before M was born and 5 months later we moved again as we had horrible neighbours (the shouting, slamming doors, leaving litter everywhere, swearing and being uncivil type). I sympathise and hope things can get sorted. Another night feeder here still, I'm such a zombie at night I do it automatically I think Grin

Skies, is it this Saturday?

Sorry to those I've missed. And sorry for the ranty post Blush

Waves!

Hello all!

Holiday was fab! Spent lots of time with our lovely friends and plenty for the munchkins to do. Though holidaying with toddlers is bloody knackering. All those late nights up chatting and then still getting the crazy wake-ups have left DH and I absolutely exhausted..... we need another holiday!

The ring is this one though we didn't get it on offer.... Sad Grin I just won't tell DH it's now on sale Wink

Looking forward to the meet. Glad to hear that Gauchita and June have already met! At least some of us will recognise each other! We're only about an hour away, so we're pretty flexible. How about 11 - 11.30 ish?

DD is taking her first shaky steps, finally! She does about 3 or 4 before crashing onto her bottom. She's walked across the room before though. I'm sure it won't be long.

DD has her MMR later. I'm dreading it as DS reacted horribly to it and was ill for ages. So far she's a very different child health-wise, so I'm hoping she won't be the same.

Sorry I can't catch up with you all individually - got loads to do this morning.

Hope you're all well Smile

June2009 · 18/08/2010 10:41

Hey sam thanks yeah I did ponder about the copyright. It sounds like they need to say this legally because the pictures are sitting on their servers/property once you upload them. (it does say "solely for the purpose of providing the Service" so I'm not too worried.) - mrsmc might know with her legal background? (how's the holiday in scotland by the way?) -
Glad your dh got a job, that is a good thing about big chains, they should be able to transfer him quite easily, shouldn't they.
Ineed good luck with the MMR. C still has not had her 12 mo jab, it's this friday, so really not sure when they will do the MMR now, probably when we come back from France. She'll be 14.5 months then...
Lovely ring, I wonder if I could drop a couple of hints to dh :D
A couple of friends told me this weekend they have been looking at engagement rings and even have a date in mind for the wedding even though he hasn't actually officially proposed yet (but still went on an early stag do last weekend). I think she really wants him to propose "properly" and he just thinks it doesn't really need to be done and looking for engagement rings is a clear enough sign. Hmm I wonder how it'll all pan out, and whether I should get a congratulations card or wait until he has officially proposed.
vene did you hear back from your friend about the wedding?
gauchita I feel your pain sister (LOL, I don't really usually say things like that ;))Can you get someone to help you out with cleaning? couple of hours a week? Or have extra ad-hoc sessions at nursery when needed?
I have someone who comes and does some of these things each time: bathroom/toilet/hoovering/ironing and the kitchen (fridge oven when needed etc) and it really helps to keep on top of things.
She's usually £7.5 an hour, I go through an agency who charge something like £100 a year and they replace her when she is on holiday or off sick. To be honest the agency has not worked out at all as the cleaners they sent as a replacement have all been really bad with poor standards and we sent them all back home before they could finish. Example: One of them smoked in the house and put her cigarette out on our wood floor!!?? I think I am lucky this one is great.
There are "better" agencies out there who will actually check the references.

Argh I have to go, spent too much time messing around this morning.

take care

Sorry - my aunt is here to visit and I have been looking after three children for the past three weeks (half brother here) so not a lot of time for going online.

My friend is cool about everything and would never say anything no matter how much I put her out, in fact she has even invited us to come and stay in their holiday house in September. So I think my way of apologising will to be in touch more, be a good friend and maybe give her something lovely.

F is teething unbelievably. his lower molars are both up and in place but the skin hasn't broken - it is just stretched high up over the top, it is all swollen and ugly and if it doesn't break in the next day or two I think I will ask the advice of the doctor - lots of up in the night.

Business thoughts on hold again as I get through current demands on my time.

Hi to everyone. So glad to hear you are all meeting up. Sorry I don't have the time to respond in full - but once school starts I will have a good read back.....

...BUT I DO REMEMBER THAT SOMEONE IS GETTING MARRIED THIS WEEKEND - HAPPY HAPPY WEDDING AND HAVE A LOVELY BEAUTIFUL DAY ON THE WIRRAL

bigcar · 19/08/2010 08:48

morning all Smile

dd1 got her first choice uni place, wooohooo!!!! She's got to wait until 10 to go into school to get her actual results but she obviously got the minimum the uni were after, well done her Smile

june, sorry to hear about dhs grandad Sad hope your visit goes as well as it can. Good to hear C is feeling much better. Shocking your cleaner and her fags, can't see why anyone would find that acceptable Shock

gauchita, sounds like a cleaner would be a good idea I think there is a thread on here somewhere about toxic parents, the stately homes ones? Hope Ms cough clears up, they do tend to linger.

ineed, lovely ring Smile Glad the holiday was good, but yes, definitely hard work with los!

venetian, so pleased your friend was ok with everything, must be a relief Smile Hope Fs teeth put in a proper appearance pretty quickly, poor thing, that can't be nice for him.

skies, have a fabulous day tomorrow, will be thinking of you Smile You might need to change your name to mrsskies now Wink Smile

waves to all Smile

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 19/08/2010 13:13

Congratulations to your DD bigcar! That's fantastic news! Hope you're doing something lovely to celebrate.

DD's MMR was fine. She didn't even flinch. She cried out when the pneumonia one went in, but was smiling at the nurse straight away. DS was always a bit more of a drama queen about it, but she's great. DS was quite poorly with his MMR for a good few weeks afterwards, so I hope she also avoids that.

Just been to Claremont Gardens with a friend. It's got a fab play park now, great for both DS and DD.

Got to sort my car insurance this afternoon and seriously procrastinating. I can't be bothered to fill in all my details to all the screen scraper websites. I know it could save me cash, but I really can't be bothered....

Hope everyone's well xx

bigcar · 19/08/2010 13:31

thanks ineed! Yes, we will be forking out for all the stuff she needs to take with her while she is out with her friends Grin To be fair, there's not much left to get, we've been collecting stuff for a while now, it's just the £100 they want up front for accommodation that needs to be paid for asap Smile

Good to hear jabs went well Smile

Gauchita · 19/08/2010 16:56

Hi all!

Bigcar, that's fantastic news!! Yay for your DD Smile You must be so proud. Celebrations are in order then Smile Mmmm didn't know there was a thread about toxic parents, TBH I had seen that thread name but I didn't understand it and moved on Grin Blush

Ineed, glad to hear DD's MMR went well Smile That ring is GORGEOUS. I agree, don't tell DH it's on sale now Grin I've had extremely bad luck with rings up to now, my engagement ring was hideous, poor DH is clueless about that Grin. Then last year he tried to buy me another one and it gave me a horrible rash Grin I think I'll end up buying one myself Hmm Glad to hear the holidays were great and you had a fantastic time Smile

June, when I felt so overwhelmed the other day I thought of you, as I know you're sort of in the same position as me working from home and all. Getting a cleaner sounds like a good idea but I KNOW I'd feel too guilty as the flat is tiny! It's a two bedroom flat Grin I can't believe that cleaner they sent over! Fags! Put out on wooden floor! WTF!!?? I told DH what you suggested about the ad-hoc days at nursery and he agreed, he's going to make an appointment with the head next week to talk to her (her secretary is not too nice/helpful). Considering how unwilling they were a few weeks ago when we wanted to switch a day because of an assignment I had I don't know if it'll work, but we can only try, right? How's the internet? Sorted? How are the ILs behaving these days?

Vene, glad to hear your friend took the news well. You've had your hands full these past few days! Hope you manage to rest a bit. M's the same these days, she chews her own fingers! That's how bad teething is at the moment Grin Hope F's molars cut through soon!

Skies, not long now!!! Wow, how exciting for you! And then, Jamaica it is, lady! Smile

HI to all Juners!

Well, I had an interpreting assignment today + some more work to deliver this afternoon and I'm exhausted. I think with the driving test coming in less than two weeks I won't be taking any long projects these days so that I can practice as much as I can without having to worry about deadlines.

I haven't practised much these past few days as I can't drive with DH and my translator friend has been busy as well. I have a mock test tomorrow, I'm starting to panic to be honest.

Right, off to make myself a cup of tea and unwind a bit before M arrives from school Smile

Waves!!!

bigcar · 21/08/2010 12:30

skies, happy wedding day Smile

June2009 · 21/08/2010 19:58

hey!

skies must be mrsskies by now Grin
gauchita ikwym I did feel guilty at first but then even if it's just a couple of hours it was more worthwile for me (critical for the business in fact) to work it than spend it ironing. and then you can have a drink in a clean house, it's bliss....for 5 minutes until the baby squashes her fruit all over the clean floor and dh empties his pockets and work bag on the kitchen table ;)

congrats on your dd bigcar it must be a rollercoaster for you too, waiting for the results and all that.

ineed did you sort out your insurance? we went with Liverpool Victoria they gave us a good quote. used to be with direct line but hated hated hated the way they handled our claim when we were burgled and the car was stolen (2 years ago, took them one year to sort out...).

Training is going well, I am really enjoying it. I've lost about 1kg per week which is really good going (so I'm on the 9th kilo lost), but I have so much to loose it does feel like it is taking ages, and it is bloody hard work. I'm managing around 5 hours training a week.
I keep going from feeling great about what I have achieved so far to looking at myself in the mirror and realising there is still so much more to go until I get to where I was/want to be.
At least I am enjoying the work-outs and it is working.
Tried "zumba" today and I think it's just not my thing, I'll stick to old school stuff. (either that or it's just been too hyped up and I was expecting too much.)

Both dh and c are sleeping! Weirdly I'm always at a loss when this happens in the evening, what to do!?

OP posts:
AllSheepareWhite · 21/08/2010 22:16

Congratulations skies, hope you had a wonderful day and enjoy your honeymoon! :)

MrsMcJnr · 21/08/2010 22:21

Hey girls, sorry that you haven't heard from me for ages and ages. Took me lots of time to get ready for the house swap and since we have been in Scotland it has been manic but such fun too. The kids have been great generally and last week Aaliyah slept through the night 3 times in a row, I got excited but now she is back to being in my bed feeding from midnight onwards. Really need to stop BF, can't go on like this and also thinking that I'd like to try for No3 soon and I currently have no chance of that happening. How are you all???

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 22/08/2010 09:20

Hi there all.

Skies - I hope you had a fantastic day. Can't wait to see the pictures on FB.

June - Congrats on losing all the weight and the training! I really must start running again. I've been a bit crap over the summer Blush

Mrsmc - Glad you are enjoying Scotland. It must feel odd to be back, especially with all this dreadful weather. Though sometimes I imagine that Spain must be pretty hot at times and you must long for some cooler weather. Sorry to hear that A is back to her usual routine at night Sad. There was a programme on recently with some leading sleep trainers and having to train these kids who were horrendous at night. It makes me feel bad to complain when Emily's awake at 5.30am, but has at least slept until then.

Gauchita - Hope you manage to get to practise s bit more in the next week or so.

I've been getting these dizzy spells for about 6 weeks now and I'm going to finally get my bottom in gear and get to the GP this week(if I'm lucky - I tried to make an on-line appointment this week and the nearest date is the 16th Sep!) Feel a bit worried now as I thought it was an inner-ear thing, or linked to my insomnia but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Depressed with this farking weather now! What's going on?

Anyway, hope everyone is well Smile

June2009 · 22/08/2010 09:46

ineed sorry to hear about the dizzy spells, can you got to another surgery? I think we're lucky ours seems to be very quiet and we can usually get an appointment for the same week, most times for the same day/next day in fact.

gauchita did you see this about getting a cleaner (in AIBU).

right, C is not cooperating with my mnting ;)

Hi all

Just a quick hello, mil is here at the mo staying for a few days Hmm she is a big help with the girls but I do miss having our house to ourselves! She can be quite over-bearing!!

dh's hospital appointment is tomorrow, yikes, been waiting for it for weeks and now dreading it!

Ineed - pleased you had a good holiday, call the doctor!! hope you get sorted

mrsmc - sorry the sleeping through didnt last very long, at least now she's proved she can do it!! hope you can convince her to do it all the time!!

gauchita - i know how you feel about having too much to do and just not enough time. make sure you look after yourself and dont worry about a messy house. my nanna always says 'a messy house is a happy house' lol I try to live by that Grin

oh no, isobel is awake again (teething [:(]) will be back soon

hi to everyone else

Gauchita · 22/08/2010 21:25

Hi all!

June, thanks for the link Smile I can see the guilt trip is a common feeling grin] Glad to hear training is going so well. You're doing really well, 1kg a week is fantastic progress Smile

Bigcar, how were the celebrations? I bet DD1 is over the moon! Smile

Allsheep, hi! Are nights any better?

Ineed, You're doing the right thing by going to have it checked, it could be related to iron deficiency and they can prescribe something for you. Let us know how it goes. Hope you managed to finish laundry duty after the holidays Smile It's amazing how many clothes the DC can go through in a day, huh! Grin

Mrsmc, glad to hear you're having a great time in Scotland. Ouch, fingers crossed for A to go back to blissfully sleeping through again!

Skies, hope you're having a lovely honeymoon in Jamaica! Smile

Right, mock test on Friday went well but I failed it anyway Grin I made 3 serious errors Shock Sad It's really getting to me now, I'm over-thinking my driving all the time, I'm doubting myself every second and I'm terrified of the whole thing to be honest Sad Argh! Why is this so hard???!!!

I have another mock test on Tuesday, I'll book another one for Thursday and Friday Grin And then at least lessons on Monday and Tuesday before the test on Wednesday. I can't drive with DH, my friend is not available much these days so...

M had some temperature last night and we had a hard night. It was all of a sudden, she had a bath, had her milk and went to bed OK. 40 mins later she coughs so I go to see if everything's ok and she was boiling... I thought it might be because of her teething. Temperature on and off during the night, then this morning she woke up OK-ish, but then there was a very loose nappy, she was sick in the afternoon so I'm thinking it's a virus. We're going to make an appointment with the GP tomorrow to see what they say.

Hope you've all had a nice weekend and have a great start of the week Smile

Waves!

Gauchita · 22/08/2010 21:29

Llynn, everything crossed here for your DH's appointment tomorrow. Let us know how it goes. I like your nanna Grin I wish I could live by that but as soon as things get too messy I can't help but start cleaning Blush
